Code name: Screaming Eagle
location: Twenty-three miles inland
from Equestrian Border.
Commander stationed: Gera Softclaw
Main purpose: Collection of military assets and equipment, to be cycled for transport to other outposts along griffon border.
The site was housed at the base of a split mountain range that sectioned itself in two different directions, making any assaults on the outpost either aerial or frontal only. The base was obviously built to withstand these sort of attacks, and had done so for most of the war.
On either end of the base's stone walls stood square towers with archers, ballista, and even a clawful of griffon mages at the ready to hamper any attacks. within the stone walls were multiple large cinderblock warehouse style buildings, with flat top roofs for the griffons to patrol on. Some of the roofs even had their own artillery constructed across the area, for added support. Rarely however, was this site targeted, being close to the border but not near the main attack patterns the ponies employed, it was hidden away and mostly forgotten.
so why was Recon here of all places?
