Beginnings (Initial lore)

Hatched into a small hive of Sicarus within the Great Marshes of the Changeling lands, Kitu did not hold any royal title or was a part of any line of succession, she and whatever family she had left acted as servants to the royal house of Sicarus, which at the time acted neutral amidst the series of skirmishes and internal strife amongst her species.

During her era of servitude she acted as a farmhand underneath the Sicarus hive, being mostly yet a neglected servant. Overtime she was taught how to read and write by her eldest brother, who had it somewhat better in comparison.
Acting as the head farmhand to the Sicari, he was regularly allowed into the Sicari palace where he would sometimes bring her sister along.

The Sicari were snarky yet somewhat compassionate to their drones and subjects, being more concerned with the welfare of Sicarus rather than domination. Their permitting of the Elder twins was mostly out of a sign of gratitude for Kitu’s brothers long lasting service as incharge of their farm drones.

During their brief visits, Kitu would occasionally sneak into the library of the Sicari Palace, delving into the various readings and illustrations, most of the time she would steal said books for her own personal use. After becoming literate, she grew great disdain for her duties and her masters, seeking a higher purpose. Soon news reached Sicarus of an impending assault by Volistad hive, at random many worker drones were drafted into a recently raised army by the Sicari Family in an attempt to fend off the Volistad swarm encroaching on the marshlands. The Elder twins were almost immediately conscripted and placed under command of Lykus Sicarus, a noble of House Sicarus who will inevitably be responsible for Kitu’s life being completely flipped upside down.

Moments before the Volistad reached the inner marsh, Lykus and his army were dispatched to meet the swarm and halt their advance to allow for Sicarus to raise more of its forces and fortify the city. The clumsy and overconfident nature of Lykus caused the operation to fail, leading his army which included the Elder twins, into a slaughter which caused immense casualties, including Kitu’s brother who disappeared, presumingly dead, during the onslaught following a botched assault against a Volistad swarm ordered by Lykus Sicarus as an attempt to strengthen his ego in the eyes of his officers and fellow noblemen/relatives.

The loss struck Kitu hard, the battle itself having shaken her to a point where during the march home she almost had a breakdown in front of her fellow soldiers, and even Lykus himself who remained smug, even criticizing the condition of the morally broken soldiery, including Kitu. The horror she witnessed continued to replay through her mind endlessly on the march home.

Though overtime she was able to transform her grief into her strength, with the memory of her brother and the life she lost pushing her to further seek what she originally desired, and a new goal above all else, a higher purpose, and Revenge.

Among returning home, her battalion initially apart of Lykus’ failed bulwark were ordered to defensive positions as the Volistad swarm drew near. The battle was imminent, though while the rest of her comrades were quivering with fear after having beared witness to the initial onslaught of the outer marshlands, Kitu only felt hate and rage, driven by her goals aforementioned, and the desire to avenge her fallen brother.

The assault struck the city hard and relentlessly through in the end the Volistad retreated after sustaining heavy losses. Amidst the action, Kitu’s commanding officer was struck multiple times before being rescued and dragged to cover by Kitu herself, who protected him during the heat of battle. She attempted to resuscitate and tend to his wounds but her efforts weren’t enough. Before perishing, his officer grabbed Kitu by the face with his hooves, forcing her close to his face as he muttered his final breathe, “Don’t.. Let up..”, he then passed away in her arms seconds after.

Once the battle died down, and the smoke began to settle. The corpses were rounded up and the damage was assessed. Kitu received considerable recognition even by the Queen of Sicarus, soon being generously promoted to Hauptmann of her company, seeing as all her commanding officers were killed in action. With the bulk of the Volistad forces devastated by the assault, House Sicarus ordered a counter assault, gathering the remnants of the defending army and set out with intent to conquer and destroy.

Kitu’s company lead the brunt of the assault, though with little experience in command or warfare she decided to improvise based on what she knew and had available, which proved quite effective. Facing a somewhat unprepared yet dug in enemy, she used brutal and unconventional tactics to break through the Volistad’s initial defense, however during the battle, Lykus himself attempted to undermine Kitu, seeing her as a threat to his career and reputation, consistently overriding orders and attempting to divert her company elsewhere, though despite his meddling she still carried out her plan, even going as far to ignore orders from the egotistical nobleman.

Her efforts eventually lead to a victory over the Volistad, seeing the city captured and their leadership arrested and executed. Lykus, unscathed to the battle, confronted Kitu, denouncing her and slandering her infront of her fellow soldiers. But Kitu was not phased, she only stared down the incompetent noble before he left with his entourage. The returning army was not met with much celebration, only a mourning city still repairing the damage and burying the dead. Despite her noble efforts in service of her home, she received no recognition and was in fact called to the palace to be disciplined, later demoted, which was no doubt pushed by Lykus, this only pushed Kitu to the brink, though reminded by her brothers lessons kept her from outright ending her career, she decided to take her next approach quietly.

Soon news spread of the rise of Chrysalis in Vesalipolis, and the alliance forged with Ditrysium, Sicarus swore loyalty to Vesalipolis, though secret relations and dealings with the Vrak hive made this alliance seemingly only parasitic as Sicarus began feeding information regarding Chrysalis’ campaigns and efforts to rival hives.

Kitu, taking every opportunity she got, began a personal campaign of espionage against the Sicarus hive out of spite for damaging her reputation and slandering her name, as well as the death of her brother. She began to develop a benevolent demeanor, learning to conceal her true intentions underneath a calm and kind exterior in order to further her greater goals.

Through various methods of intelligence gathering, even getting into bed with a Sicari noble, she eventually learned of the dealings between Hive Sicarus and the northern tribes, all of which being enemies with the increasingly powerful Vesalipolis. Kitu almost immediately set out to make contact with Vesalipolis, soon gaining an audience with Queen Chrysalis herself out of curiosity for what the little officer had to say.

It was soon revealed to the Dark Queen of Sicarus’ betrayal, leading to the hive being ousted of the alliance and subsequently invaded, with the Sicari family being imprisoned, then later executed, with Lykus himself meeting his fate at the hands of Kitu with the permission of Chrysalis after learning of the story between the two.

Kitu was promptly recognized by Chrysalis’ government, being promoted to Generaloberst and was given the lands of Sicarus and Volistad as an award for exposing the traitorous hive Sicarus as well as command over an army group within the Heer. She led the armies of Sicarus and Volidad against Vraks and the northern tribes, which saw their ultimate defeat at the hands of the Queen's ever growing Empire.

After the Union of Hives was formed, her background soon gained the attention of VOPS, being contacted by the great imperial nobody himself to act as an informant before officially enlisting as an operative and political field commissar. Vaspier became her mentor over the years before the assault on Canterlot was prepared and committed, she proved to be quite formidable, playing a large role in the initial invasion of Equestria.

Unsure of the success of the operation, she kept herself out of the Queen's sights purposely to avoid facing her wrath if it were to fail despite the role she played, which eventually proved to be a smart move. Overtime she continued to gain influence and power, using manipulation and sheer charisma to win over support within the officer corps and general staff, ultimately preparing herself for the trials soon to come.
