It was any other day for me when I got invited by a couple of friends to go to Comicon. While I was getting packed to fly my door was knocked on. While going to the door I looked to the mirror to get a good look at myself. I'm a white male with a beard to good on me for my age of 20. With dark brown hair and green eyes. I am currently wearing a pair of blue reebok shorts and socks. a shirt that says "I'm fine. Everything is fine." while a stickman is on fire. and black sneakers with white shoestrings. "Come on Sammy! We'll be late to the airport if you don't hurry up!" I heard my friend yell through my door. I'm Sam by the way. Samuel Amethyst is my name and the friend outside my door is James. I open the door and see his awful choice of fashion. James is of Irish descendant. With his shirt being brown with yellow stripes. His shorts being black with yellow highlights and black socks. Red sneakers with white shoestrings. Wearing some rainbow shades and an American flag themed hat. "You realize that we have plenty of time right? It's not going to take off for three hours and it's a one hour drive." I ask while starring at him with a deadpan expression on my face. He rolls his eyes and huffs. "But we want to look around the airport for some of the cool trinkets that we have been wanting." James then proceeds to point out. Which he doesn't realize that we'll probably only be there for about thirty minutes. But I'm not going to say anything. It will just break out into an argument that will make us ignore each other for the entire trip like last time. "Just give me a minute, I only have to pack my two laptops and my Xbox. Then that will be everything I'll need." I say as I turn to go finish packing as I hear a sigh. I know James hates me taking both my laptops and Xbox but there is a lot of info on them that is essential for me. on my non gaming laptop i have a list that has all my passwords on it with some birthdays written down. having short term memory sucks at times. "Now since I'm done packing and you decided to wait for me at my door you get to choose. Do you want to the heavy bag or the lighter bag?" I ask James while holding the two bags up. "Give me the lighter bag. I know I'm weaker than you." He says while holding his hand out. I put the lighter bag in his hand and he almost dropped it. I started chuckling when he rolled his eyes and used his other hand to lift the bag onto his back since it's a backpack. When we got to the car we can see the two laughing. The one sitting on the hood of the car is Zack. He's German but lived in U.S.A ever since he was 3. He is wearing a black T-shirt with a skull on it. His shorts is grey and black. The shoes are red with a white Nike logo on it that goes with the white shoestrings. And unlike James, his hat is black to fit the colors better. Amy was leaning against the car and had a smug grin on her. Amy is wearing a blue T with what looks like raindrops hitting in areas. Her jeans are blue and is wearing a belt. She had blue sneakers that has black for the secondary colors and shoestrings. she has blue shades with black fingerless gloves on. "So you finally finished packing?" Amy asked. "Yeah. Now open the trunk so we can get on the road." I tell when i finally get to the trunk. She popped the trunk open and after setting everything in we take off. "So what's the plan boss?" Amy asked while driving. "Since James wanted to hit a couple stores first, we'll be going to browse. After that we'll be going to the airport." I explain so Amy and Zach knows what we're doing. They both nod as we start discussing about things that caught our interest. "Did you know that there's a old game that is getting popularity now?" I ask as Zach nods. "It's Rain World. I've thought about getting it since it looks challenging. But I've been a little bit busy with life to have the chance. What about you?" Zach asked as I shook my head. "Life has been rough for most of us recently." I say sadly. "Especially since those of us who make less had to either take overtime or a part time job. But this trip will be worth it." Amy says as we cheer. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Later at the hotel they booked for after the flight. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> "Hurry up Amy! I can't stand Zach's and James's stupidity for much longer!" I yelled through the bathroom door as the two idiots yelled 'hey!' together. I hear Amy chuckle and open the door. We decided in our group's guild hall that since all of us are going to be here for comic con that we should dress in the same theme. The theme that was chosen was slugcats from the game Rain World. Each slugcat has a different set of abilities. (See the abilities in the Author's notes section. I'll give a general idea of some of the abilities and which slugcat they belong to.) I'm going as a red Spearmaster, Amy is a light blue Rivulet, Zach is a black Artificer, And James is going as the teal Saint. The eight others we will meet with is going to be in the lobby of our hotel. Well we would have if they didn't get impatient. "Let me guess, They got bored so they went to comic con already." I say knowing that I'm right in my prediction as the three nod. "They said we will meet up with them at the cafe there. said something about cats." Julia says. She's American wearing the white survivor slugcat costume. She's also the 'mother' of the group. Ever since she joined our guild as a cleric when searching for another healer as the boss can tank and dish out damage. And ever since then she's taken the 'mother' role for scolding us when we do something stupid. "They wanted to see how the cats would react to people wearing slugcat costumes. They even made bets, But I bet that they would be aggressive to them." Gemini said. I nod approvingly and say "That would be the only thing they would do besides cower in the corner and wait for them to leave.". Gemini is of Roman decent but grew up in Canada for most of her life. She joined the guild while in Canada and after she a couple years, She moved to the States to go to a very promising collage. She's the only one with a degree in our group. She's in a green Saint slugcat costume. "To be honest I'm surprised Gem didn't leave to see what would happen. Even more surprised that Logan went with them." Paul said. Paul is dressed as a yellow monk slugcat. "That isn't too much of a surprise to me." I say. I knew Logan while growing up and he's been a cat person all his life. His family always had cats. When I would visit I often had fun playing with logan while pretending the cats was our minions. "His family grew up with cats in every part of the house. I'm surprised he doesn't have a cat in his apartment." I say reminiscing about the childhood memories. "And that's why you and Logan are the guild leaders/strategists." Amy said with a chuckle. We all left and went to the comic con. When we arrived, I noticed that Microsoft has a section. "How about we check out Microsoft's section? They might have something cool to announce." I point out and everyone agreed. We noticed that there's a new title in development for Diablo but that's all. We then moved on and ran into Larry and Mars. Larry is a yellow Gourmand while Mars is a tiny purple Artificer. "Hey guys. Where are the other three?" I ask when we catch up to them. "Don't know. We split up when we went to the movie section." Larry said. "Since logan liked books more than movies, He will be at the book stores. Meanwhile Mike and Angela are likely going to the trinket stores." Mars add onto what Larry said. We then went after Logan first. While looking into the stores, We heard a voice behind us speak up. "Looking for me?" I smiled at the familiar voice of Logan. "As smart as ever Logan." I said as I turned around and see him in a blue Gourmand outfit. "We're going to go to the trinket stores now to find the other two. Might buy some trinkets so we have a memento of our trip here." I tell him as he nods. We arrived at the trinket area of the convention when we hear Mike and Angela yelling for us. When we get there over there I ask "You find anything cool?". "not yet but we're only on the third shop." Mike says as he continues looking around. Mike is a green baby Survivor. "Hey guys! look at what I found!" Angela said. She is wearing a cyan baby Rivulet costume. When everyone got there we see spears, rocks, and grenades on the rack. The best part is they are designed from Rain World's game. After we get the items best suited for us we walk up to the counter. After a minute of waiting we see the back door open and a guy dressed as a merchant from Palworld walked in. "Nice costumes ladies and gents. Found some stuff you liked?" The merchant asked as we all nod. "For everyone but our saint a mark of communication. For myself as a Spearmaster a bone spear(it's cannon name is a needle but that's lame.). For the two artificers, a explosive spear. For one Gourmand, A grenade. For the other Gourmand, A fire egg. The Saint has a karma flower and a rock. Both the Rivulets have jellyfish. Everyone else chosen a spear." I say as we put it all down. "Well since you're a big group and fit the theme. I'll give you guys a discount. This will be a total of one hundred and twenty seven dollars." He offers and everyone pitched in to pay. With seven of us paying 1 more dollar then the other five. "Thank you for the discount sir! Hope you get more money for giving us a discount." I say excitedly at him as we leave his store. When we exited the convention and got to our hotel room to sleep. We all meet in the lobby this morning. When we're walking to the convention a portal opens up out from under us. With me having the quickest reflex I grabbed the ledge of the portal frame. I then use my other hand to grab onto Angela. We almost had everyone in the chain but Logan failed to grab Mars' arm. in a panic I let go of the ledge. "What the hell is happening here!?" Angela exclaimed in confusion. "I don't know! But the better question is where is this!? Especially since it looks like a wormhole from that one show!" I yelled out. "You're talking about The Lego Movie! But that's supposed to be impossible!" Larry yelled out. While traveling through the wormhole a window popped up and we can see two figures. "Have fun!" the figure on the left said before the window closed. Then we blacked out from the shock. 'Why am I feeling numb? And what is with this migraine?' I think to myself as I open my eyes and see an unfamiliar area. That caused me to sit up in a panic as I looked around and see a forest all around me. I tried to speak but widened my eyes when nothing came out. I grabbed my ears that used to be my costume's and feel me touching them as they are my ears now. I was about to sit when I noticed Paul stirring. When he looked at me as I waved him over. When he got to me, I had started writing in the ground with the bone spear. Some info that I already discovered. As he went through the motions to confirm what I wrote down, I had started getting everyone up and caught up info wise. 'What do we do now?" Logan wrote to ask for directions. After everyone read it they started looking to me. I had my hand in a thinking pose as I started thinking. I wrote 'Well first we set up base. I've been camping before but didn't care for it. Anyone here have a better way to explain?'. Gemini raised her hand in the 'I do' fashion and started jumping. I waved her over and she started writing down things to do. Larry's job is going to be to make sure everyone is fed. Logan had been to figure out a landmark nearby hopefully to see if there is any settlements nearby. He was told to bring me and Mike. We left to the West of camp. After a bit of wondering around we discovered a wooden hut. When we paused and we're trying to decide who should check it out. After a minute of debating I just shrugged and pushed past the two while they glare at me. When I arrived to the door and knocked I didn't hear anything. After a couple of seconds I was about to go back to my friends when the hut opened and... is that a zebra!? When did a animal know how to live and operate like a human? "greetings little one. how may I help you?" She asked me and I just stood in shock. After a minute of standing in shock I shake my head and bring out a stick. we decided if we ran into civilization that a cat wielding a weapon would be weird. So we grabbed a decent sized branch to communicate with. I wrote in the ground 'Hi! Me and my friends don't know where we are and is searching around for any landmarks. do you happen to know where we are?'. After reading it then reading it again she looked at me with a confused glance. "How do you not know where this place is? And we're in the most dangerous place in Equestria. better watch out for nature's aria." She responds making me gulp... or I would if I HAD A MOUTH! I'm still very annoyed that I don't have a mouth. 'My friends and I had a portal open under us while walking and then we're in the clearing.' I wrote down. "So you are from foreign land. Be careful as even here isn't safe to stand." She says. I look around and see that there are eyes from animals watching me. 'Can me and my friends come in please? It would make the questions more relaxed. I write out and get a nod for a answer. I turn and throw a rock at the bush they are hiding behind. When they pop their heads up, I signal them to come as I get in the hut. When they get inside I ask the zebra for her name. "My name is Zecora. What names do you three have?" The zebra now known as Zecora responded. 'My name is Sam. Logan is the name of the fat blue one. And Mike's the small green one.' I write down. 'Do you have a map or something of Equestria?' I write the question and she shakes her head. "I do not have a map. The ponies in the town perhaps." Zecora said. After a while of exchanging info with Zecora. We left and headed back to camp. It turns out that in a couple of weeks is going to be Halloween, Or as it's called here Nightmare Night. Which I may prefer over Halloween. While I'm interested in checking it out. We'll be busy setting up our camp. When we got back to the camp. Our campfire was set up to where it won't spread and start a forest fire. We have the outline of a shelter. As well as a 'chalkboard' but in the ground and with a bunch of sticks and rope to make a bunch of letters. I walk over to Gemini and point to it while shrugging. She made a motion to follow her. When the four of us got there she picked up the letters to explain 'This is the first chalkboard area. Since we needed a way to talk on the grass. I had made these so we can use the dirt areas for more important things like a shelter and fire.'. After she finished and we read the sentences, We nodded as she picked the letters up and started again. 'Logan and Sam are going to go help finish the shelter. Meanwhile Mike's going to help me with this bowl. I'm making bowls for our soup and plates are easy enough.' Gemini wrote down. While Mike and Logan nodded I raised my hand and pointed at the board. When she nodded I moved to grab the letters and started writing. 'We made contact with a Sentient creature... It was a zebra and it could speak English like us.' I let her read before writing more. 'She made the house she's living in and is from this world's Africa. We're in the land of Equestria where the main species is the ponies. The ponies are separated into four sub-species. That being Earth, Pegasus, Unicorn, And alicorns. Earth ponies have higher strength. Pegasus with wings and can control the weather. Unicorns with literal MAGIC. And Alicorns Having all three traits from the other races. I Finish explaining. After a while of debating. We decided to keep to ourselves for now. Especially with the whole being moved to this world. And we decided to wait until tomorrow to share the info we gathered from Zecora. After some collecting of herbs and other materials that Zecora said isn't poisonous, As well as getting the last huge sticks and leaves we need to finish the shelter. So far everything was almost... normal. I was looking down at my bowl of soup as I realized something. When I looked up I noticed the others staring at me as if asking 'Why aren't you eating?'. I pointed at where a mouth should be. I see the look of realization and horror dawn on the smarter people. As Logan came to cheer me up and took me away. I could see Gemini who picked up on my meaning take to the chalkboard. She's most definitely going to point out I don't have a mouth. When we were gathered before lunch we made rules like groups of 2 when in the woods. always have a spear with you. Things to help our survival. While Logan and I was walking we ran into a weird lizard. Logan being curious was starting to walk forward. Until the lizard turned it's head to us and saw us. Then the lizard rushed at Logan. He was frozen in shock as he just stood there. Then without thinking I jumped over him and threw the bone spear. After it hit the Lizard I felt refreshed. I then noticed a line flow from the spear into me. I had to focus on the bigger issue though. After I hit the lizard it roared in pain as it started looking at me in anger. I'm officially on it's shit list now, yippee. I started running away as the lizard chased after me. After a while I switched from running on my back feet to all fours. picking up speed as I ran for my life. I turned and see some ruins up ahead of me. I turned my head to look back and see the lizard still charging at me. I ran as fast as I could until I got to the entrance of this ruins. After a second of pushing the door gave in to the demand of mine. Opening just enough for me to get into the ruins. I start pushing it closed. once it closed I heard a thud and felt the door budge. It didn't do that again but just to be safe, I looked for a window close by. While finally being able to take in the sights. This is most definitely a castle. There are banners ripped and torn. Some banners are yellow with the sun on it. The others are blue with a crescent moon. There are stone bricks missing from higher up on the walls and holes in the roof. Foliage has started taking over the ground again. Some bricks in the floor are even cracked by the foliage. In the middle of the floor is a carpet laid out for royalty. And on top of a set of stairs is two thrones. This must be the castle of the two sisters Zecora talked about. I see the window that is able to view the yard area. When I get up to the ledge to look for the lizard I don't see it. But I do see my spear I used to feed... OH SHIT, I forgot about that for a second but I got less hungry after I stabbed the lizard. And I slowly got full until the lizard ran into the door. After it did I stopped getting food. But I still feel hungry... 'I can't believe I'm about to do this.' I thought to myself as I open the door and got the spear. I started exploring the basement area of the castle and soon found what I'm looking for. Perched on the ceiling is a bat. sitting still and sleeping. I took my time to aim and threw my spear. I missed and caused the bat to fly away in a panic. I then jumped up and grabbed the bat. Once I got the spear I poked the bat in a non-fatal area. Once I was full I patted the bat on the head and released it. I watched it fly away into the darkness. After a bit more of exploring the ruins. I ran into a bedroom that is still mostly in tact. As I looked around I heard lightning strike near the window. I went to it and looked out to see it raining. And all I can think is 'Great. Now my first night in this new world is on my own.'. As I get on the bed, I close my eyes and let the rain lull me to sleep. Artificer: The Artificer is a cyborg like cat that can double jump by causing her feet to explode. They are also able to turn spears and rocks into explosive counterparts. (works well with Gourmand seeing as how to craft nukes they need grenades.) Gourmand: Gourmand is a fat cat. they can deal damage by jumping off of ledges and landing on the enemies or by sliding into them. (fall damage is based on the airtime). They are also able to combine two items to create a new item. a example of this is when they combine a flashbang and a rock together, they create a lantern. (Also while all slugcats can roll. Gourmand can roll the fastest.) Rivulet: The Rivulet is a aquatic slugcat that is able to breathe underwater longer than every other slugcat. they also move faster in water and can dash underwater. Spearmaster: The Spearmaster is a unique Slugcat as they can't eat like the others since they don't have a mouth. By using their bones to create spears, They get their filling by stabbing and killing their enemies. almost like a parasitic evolution. Saint: The Saint class is a pacifist. If they try to throw the spear they will drop it instead. But to make up for that they have a tongue that they can use almost like a grapple bug. (it's basically a grappling hook.) With their tongue, They can reach higher places than able to with some other slugcats. Extra features: There is a mode in the game where you can play as a kid version of the slugcats. Making it harder for them to complete the game since some of the jumps are barely doable as a adult slugcat. There is a reputation system primarily for the scavengers. going to use this feature for the races of Equis. An example of this is that the ponies are going to be at a starting reputation of 10/100. while griffons are going to be -10/-100. the lowest you can go to in this fic is -100. While the highest is going to be 100. If your rep reaches 100 then you are basically a hero to that race. When a race is added to the fic I will add a rep system in the author's notes. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter two: I'M A SLUGCAT NOW! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter two: I'M A SLUGCAT NOW! I was running through the woods when I got to camp. When I got to camp. I noticed that the others are gone. While looking around camp, I don't see any thing missing. 'Maybe they're in the shelter?' I think as I walk to the shelter. I arrived and don't see any signs of them. There isn't even a imprint in the dirt that they even slept. 'What happened here? did they try to find me? if so then I'll wait here for them to arrive.' I thought to myself. While waiting for them I started thinking about a game plan. 'Should we go to town after setting up camp or wait? When would be a good time to introduce ourself if we should? What do we need done for the camp?' As I was thinking, I heard a bush rustle and turn to it. After a second a rabbit ran out and across the camp site. Once it crossed to the other side a wolf made of wood jumped out of the trees. 'Shit! This must be what Zecora was talking about when she said Timberwolf.' I say as I jumped out of the way. Causing the Timberwolf to miss. But the Problem lies in the fact that two more just rushed out. I turn and take off. Just barely missing the Timberwolves jaws. As I was running, Thinking about where to go. The area started to look familiar. 'The castle!' I thought as I turned to it. Causing the Timberwolves to stumble over each other as one continued to chase. After a minute of jumping over giant roots and turning at sharp corners. Keeping the Timberwolves at bay a little bit. I reached the castle and went inside. Officially safe for now I take a good couple of breathes to calm myself. Only for the fact that the door between me and them. I felt safe until a claw pierced the wooden door. Causing me to stumble backwards and trip. They broke the door open and rushed at me. I wake up in the bed out of breathe and scared. I looked out the window and thought 'It's just a nightmare, Calm down.'. After a little bit of calming myself. I started wondering the halls to try and find a better room to stay in. After a little bit of exploring, I didn't find anything. I decided that it's time for me to return to camp. I checked out the window to make sure it's safe then left. When I got to the clearing where the camp resides, I see Mike and Angela comforting Logan who is looking like he slept worth shit. Gemini had rounded up the others and writing her heart out. When she looked up to gage their reactions we locked eyes and I see her light the fuck up the run through the others. By the time the others turn around I was glomped by Gem who was crying with happiness. After the group hug, I pushed through them and started walking through the camp to where the three remained unaware of my arrival. When I arrived at them I see Mike and Angela notice me. Before they came to me I raised my finger up to where a mouth should be. They noticed what I was trying to do and nodded as they backed off. I patted Logan on the shoulder a couple of times. When he didn't respond I gave a light shove. Almost pushing him off the seat. When he finished flailing he sent a quick glare at me before going back to looking at the floor. It took a minute for him to realize but when he did. He sees me standing right here safe and sound. He launched himself at me and burst into tears. I could only imagine the conversation we would have if we could talk... or have a MOUTH. Still pissed that I don't have a mouth. But using my imagination I pictured him saying 'I'm sorry that I didn't do anything and that I did something reckless almost costing you your life.'. I then heard a voice say "I'm so so so sorry Sam!". As I looked around before realizing something. After a minute of concentrating I said "It's ok Logan. I'm here and a ok. Get some rest.". After I said that, He closed his eyes and fell asleep. After he fell asleep I pointed for Zach and James to come over. When they arrived I made a picking up motion as I grabbed the arms. After the three of us got logan to the cover. I went with them to the eating area where everyone is sitting. After a minute I focused enough to say to them "hi.". After I "spoke" the others looked at me in shock as Gem signed excitedly how I "spoke" a word. "It's weird, As I have to focus on you guys then think about the words I want to say. It's definitely harder to do it to multiple people." I say to them. It took a minute but everyone slowly started speaking. Once that everyone started to get the hang of speaking, I suggested "Now since we have speech. We won't need the blackboards. so how about if we use the blackboard areas to store our kindling? Then there's the fact we can just move into the ruins of the castle here instead of having no where to go.". After a minute of debating about to keep the camp as our location or the ruins. Larry spoke up and said "I say lead here should make the decision. After all he is the leader here." While everyone looked at me I chose the words to say. After a minute I say "We'll keep both. The ruins will be a secondary base. Just in case something happens here.". Everyone agreed and Gem started handing out tasks for today. I took hunting with Larry and Zach volunteering to join me. As we are walking North, I was mapping out the area with Zach. Another thing that would be nice to have for camp. We got to a lake and I approached it to look for any fish. I was shocked as there was a good amount of fish in this pond. I took my bone spear and launched it into the lake. Hitting two Trout in the one throw. I stopped getting fish for my food source once I stopped getting full. I then got 3 more fish and packed up to head back to camp. We got half way before I froze as my ears perked. In the distance I heard twigs snapping. The other two bumped into me and questioned why I stopped. I then game my portion of fish I had to Larry as I grabbed the bone spear. While looking around to see if there was any other predators that might be lurking, I see Zach hand Larry the fish and bring his own spear out. After a minute of waiting and preparing to strike whatever predator was lurking nearby. We heard whatever it was go in a different direction. We sighed as it didn't go towards the camp either. By the time that we got back, It was time for brunch to have already been cooked. After we cooked the fish And everyone but me ate. I reported to Gem and showed her the map that we drew on paper and showed her that a lake was nearby (thanks to Zecora for lending us paper.). Also told her about the predator coming from the West going East half way between the trail. As we were debating about that, We hear a scream coming from North-East. I rushed to the others and said "Zach, Paul, and Mars with me. We're going to investigate that scream.". With a nod the three oof us headed towards where the scream came from. While running we talked strategy for what the situation was. "The formation is as follows. I'll hold it's agro, Zach, You are going to look for weak points and strike where it hurts. Paul will back up one of us if we need to retreat from our position. Mars, your job is to make sure our target is safe. If it gets too much for us to protect both you and the civilian. If there is more than one then Paul is to help you escort them to camp." I say to get "Got it boss!" From the three of them. When we arrived I see a couple of Earth Ponies about to get jumped by the Timberwolves I dreamt about. I readied my spear and threw it at the one pouncing. Causing it's head to explode by the impact I left. When the other two Timberwolves looked behind them. I launched myself and headbutted the one Timberwolf closest to the Earth ponies. I then launched myself at my spear and pulled it out the tree. As I did Paul shoved a spear through the leg of a Timberwolf. Disabling it for both him and Mars to get the four Earth Ponies out of there. With the four Ponies out of the picture. It left me and Zach to our devises against the Timberwolves. 'We didn't plan for if there was multiple enemies. this could be troublesome for us.' I think as I stepped in front and said "Same strategy. Just I have four opponents to fight instead of one.". Afterwards I rushed into the fray. I first take my spear and throw it at the first Timberwolf. It barely managed to dodge and rushed at me with the other two. I Ducked under the first Timberwolf's pounce. Then I jumped onto the second wolf's head and launched myself as the third one launched at the second wolf. I heard the collision as I grabbed the spear and help it tightly. I'm really glad I found swordplay interesting. And a spear is like this makes me glad I used a spear. I then rushed at the first wolf and jumped over it's strike. While midair I thrusted the spear into the wolf. I dragged my spear through the wolf making it bleed tree sap. I then flipped to allow my feet to make contact with the branch above me. I used the momentum to launch myself back into the wolf. I didn't expect to go completely through the wolf As it shattered into many twigs. When I landed I turned and prepared to defend myself. The two Timberwolves and I having a staring contest to see who would make the first move. Then I noticed that the twigs from the destroyed Timberwolf started moving. My eyes widened as I turned around to block a strike from the first Timberwolf that I struck in the head. As I see Zach appear And strike it's head, Again it's head was shattered as Zach says "Boss! Our best bet is to either smash them enough to officially kill them, Or smash them enough where we can retreat and get to the others.". Zach and I launched ourselves at the three Timberwolves. "Then we kill till they stop rezzing their selves. Or they have a core we can shatter. When we shatter the others, search the corpses to find it. It'll probably glow a yellow color like their eyes." I say as dodging and counterattacking the one in front of me. I then see a good chance and pierce the head causing it to explode. I hear an explosion behind me and quickly turn to see that Zach made it. With the two Timberwolves stunned on the ground, we quickly dispatch them. As they were destroyed I realized something. "Okay Zach. We're going to go to camp. Then we'll see about how the Timberwolves work." I say as we quickly leave before the first one reformed. When we got back to town the others rushed over to us. "There you two are! How are you guys holding up? any wounds needing to be taking care of?" Julia asks us as she inspects us for injuries. "We're fine Jules. Just a couple of scrapes from a couple of close calls. Now onto the important info. How the fuck did you cause that explosion!" I reaffirmed Julia before confronting Zach. We ignored everyone's gaze as Zach and I focus on each other. "I don't know but it was awesome! To have a stun in the form of an explosion is amazing. Though if that's the case... we're going to have to learn how to use our abilities." Zach responded. I nodded my agreement and looked at the blackboard area. A horrifying idea popped into my head and I will so definitely enjoy this. I noticed the glint of fear in Logan's expression as the last time he saw this glint of insanity from me. He had to deal with an army of undead alone. " Now Sam. We can definitely do a different solution to this then whatever you're planning." Logan said with concern for everyone's safety. "Nope. I'm most definitely doing this and you guys are going to get a show." I say as my insane idea was caught by Zach. "I'm down boss. Besides I'd like to know how to use it since mine is more combat based." Zach says as he grabs his spear. We approached a open area in the clearing and stood on opposite sides. Logan gave up trying to stop this so he got in the middle. "Let's have a fair match you two. Obviously no fatal moves, And FIGHT"! After Logan got out of the way Zach rushed at me, knowing I'd stay put until he made the first move. He went to jab at me. I stepped to the side and whacked him in the side. He then tried to whack me back but I ducked and punched him in the stomach area. I then jump flipped away as I midair threw the spear into the ground. Landing on the spear and propelling with extra momentum at Zach. He dodged as I flew past and landed. I then jumped to predict Zach's attack. "Nice try boss. But you'll have to try harder than that!" Zach said as he launched himself at me. He then exploded in mid air and launched himself at me. I see the determination in his eyes while I dodged to the side. I proceed to rush to my spear and heard a explosion coming from behind. I jumped and grabbed my spear. Then blocked Zach's attack as I yell "This is what I call a fight! But I say we call it quits. Especially with you now having a good idea of how to use your ability.". We both fist bumped and the others rushed up to us. "What was that explosion? And how did it come out of Zach?" Logan ask us while the others look to us expectantly. "We found out he could cause the explosions when fighting the Timberwolves. But we didn't have time to try to understand how he explodes. Now we know how to cause the explosion of the Artificers." I explain while Zach nods along. "Now that we sparred. I figured out how to cause them. With this knowledge in our grasp. We might be able to figure out how to use other abilities." Zach says while giving an excited look to me. "The way to use it for artificer is by focusing the energy into the feet. Causing the explosion to happen there. But there's a chance we can use it with our hands to launch spears even farther." Zach explained how to use it while theorizing how he and other artificers can use the ability. With this coming from our ability master from our MMO days. Means a lot of possibilities have opened up to us. Then Logan spoke up to point out "If you can use it in your hands... doesn't this mean that we might be able to use our abilities differently from the game? Remember the Artificer was only able to use it on their bottom feet.". "But first, We should see if others can use their abilities from how Zach described. So Sam should try it out. Especially since having infinite spears would be a great resource." Logan says and Zach nodded to back him up. I tried to focus energy into my tail. After a minute of trying. Nothing really happened which made us start thinking. "Maybe we need to focus on something? Or what others need isn't energy. I mean the Slugcats in the game couldn't do much ability wise. The Artificer, Saint, and Spearmaster only has special features added for them." I theorized and they nodded. "If we're playing by those rules, then maybe focus on desperation? At least something that is survival wise." Julia says her theory to us and I start trying. "...Nope still nothing." I say while shaking my head. "We can find this out later. For now lets focus on teaching Mars how to explode and use their ability." Gem says to us while pointing to mars. We all split to do our different things when Gem and Logan came up to me. "What do you two need?" I ask as they finished approaching. "We want to talk to Zecora some more. So we came to get your permission and see if you want to come." Gem explains as I think. "Sure you can. Just make sure to take Zach with you." I say pointing to the Artificers as Mars just caused a explosion. As they go to retrieve Zach for a information visit, Mike and Julia approached me. "Hey boss. We noticed that you are looking stressed. You usually get like this when thinking about a boss fight. But with us not having access to video games here, Are you thinking about home?" They ask while showing concern. Of course, I was starting to feel the stress of the situation hit me now that things are calming down. I smiled and say "yeah. The situation is finally settling in, Causing a lot of stress to pile on. Especially with my mind not rushing about trying to do everything under the sun." "It's ok Sam. To be honest with you, most of us are too. The only one we didn't know for sure was you." Julia says while sitting on my right. Mike sits on my left and adds "But now that we know. It's time for us to start settling into things. Especially if we aren't able to return home.". After a couple minutes of thinking I nod and say "I'm going to Zecora's tomorrow. I'm going to see if she has a way to store food for long periods of time.". Once I finished my sentence, Our ears perked up as we heard the start of rainfall. We quickly ran to the shelter where the others started going as well. When everyone arrived, I stood tall and say "Rollcall time! Is anyone that's not Gem, Logan, or Zach?". After a round of no's. We all settled down and decided to call it for the night. Only hope that Zecora allowed Gem and them to stay inside. Artificer: The Artificer is a cyborg like cat that can double jump by causing her feet to explode. They are also able to turn spears and rocks into explosive counterparts. (works well with Gourmand seeing as how to craft nukes they need grenades.) Gourmand: Gourmand is a fat cat. they can deal damage by jumping off of ledges and landing on the enemies or by sliding into them. (fall damage is based on the airtime). They are also able to combine two items to create a new item. a example of this is when they combine a flashbang and a rock together, they create a lantern. (Also while all slugcats can roll. Gourmand can roll the fastest.) Rivulet: The Rivulet is a aquatic slugcat that is able to breathe underwater longer than every other slugcat. they also move faster in water and can dash underwater. Spearmaster: The Spearmaster is a unique Slugcat as they can't eat like the others since they don't have a mouth. By using their bones to create spears, They get their filling by stabbing and killing their enemies. almost like a parasitic evolution. Saint: The Saint class is a pacifist. If they try to throw the spear they will drop it instead. But to make up for that they have a tongue that they can use almost like a grapple bug. (it's basically a grappling hook.) With their tongue, They can reach higher places than able to with some other slugcats. Extra Abilities: There is a mode in the game where you can play as a kid version of the slugcats. Making it harder for them to complete the game since some of the jumps are barely doable as a adult slugcat. There is a reputation system primarily for the scavengers. going to use this feature for the races of Equis. An example of this is that the ponies are going to be at a starting reputation of 10/100. while griffons are going to be -10/-100. the lowest you can go to in this fic is -100. While the highest is going to be 100. If your rep reaches 100 then you are basically a hero to that race.
