//-------------------------------------------------------// Lighty and Gloom -by Hypnographkitty- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// PonyVille //-------------------------------------------------------// PonyVille "Hi all," and excited Light Heart shouted through the town square, "Long time, no see!" However the loud and slightly awkward pony didn't get the attention she thought she would. A groan game from behind her as a grey-purple pony with a lowered head and a black ribbon in her mane stepped out in front of her. "What's wrong with you Light? Can't you see there's nopony here." "Well you can't blame a pony for trying!" Her loud, high pitched voice was too much for her gloomy partner, who just sighed and trotted around, looking for something that would point them in the direction of their cousin's house. "What'cha looking for, Gloomy?" Light Heart asked, her eyes set on her sister. "What any sane pony would look for," This response only got a tilted head and a confused expression,"Rarity's house, dummy." "Ohh - right. I knew that!" Light Heart cantered up to Gloom and swung her head around a little so that it looked as though she was helping. It had been a day since their departure from Canterlot, but it felt more like minutes to Light Heart. This journey had been the most fun she'd had in week. It started on the train. There was so much to do and Light wanted the full experience. A few minutes after the train had left the station, it was announced that breakfast was being served. Light was so excited she'd ordered just about everything on the menu. Then she impatiently waited for it to arrive, constantly checking the double doors leading to the kitchens. -Boom- When it arrived, she dived in head first, chomping, chewing, swallowing then repeating, without taking a single breath, *(breathing can wait) until she was finished. She belched then rubbed her stomach, feeling completely satisfied. However, the satisfaction didn't last long. The waiter came with the bill, the cost of the meal was 497 bits, 197 more than they had.* "We can't pay for that," Light Heart giggled, "We don't have the money!" This resulted in them getting kicked of the train at the next ---- "LIGHT HEART!" Light jumped and fell onto her back, her ears ringing from the impact of the sound waves. "Wha-What?" She replied shaking her head to clear her hearing. "Did you hear that explosion?" Gloom asked, her face almost touching Light's. "Oh," Light Heart said, then paused, "Yeah, I guess I did." She got up onto her hooves and looked around. A small pillar of smoke rose from an old-looking tree in the distance. As Light looked at the tree for longer, she realised that it wasn't actually a tree. It had an arched, red door, several windows and 3 balconies. She figured somepony must live there and they didn't really look after the place too well. The leaves definitely needed to be trimmed and there were stray branches poking out between the foliage. Nopony in Canterlot would have let this happen to their homes, or even their trees. Well unless they were a colt, a lazy colt. So therefore, she decided, whoever lived there must be male. "Hey Gloomy," Light Heart tittered, "What'cha get when you cross a tree with an explosion?" "Gee, I don't know," Gloom replied with a unamused tone, "And FYI I'm not really one to care. Go bug somepony else." "Directions to Rarity's house!" Light Heart carried on, ignoring Gloom's comment. She ran off ahead, and wondered what kind of pony would be inside, and if this pony could get them to Rarity. //-------------------------------------------------------// The library //-------------------------------------------------------// The library "...Ohhhh - It's a library. I geddit, 'cause book are made from paper and paper's made from trees. So the library being a tree is sorta like it being a big book and it would be a big book because this is a library. You'd never get anything like this back in Cante-" "WOULD YOU JUST SHUT IT!" "What?" "The door! I asked you to shut it, like, five minutes ago. It's getting cold in here!" Gloom Heart was pretty much at the end of her teather. "Ohhh, right! Sure!" Light Heart slammed the door shut and a couple of book wobbled in place, which apparently was enough to get her giggling. The less enthusiastic of the twins was about to throw herself against the nearest shelf just to escape this life in which she had to share every moment with the joke of a pony she was forced to call "sister" when a voice echoed though the large lobby. "Hello? Is anypony here?" A young mare stepped out of a side room and a trail of smoke seeped across the ceiling. Gloom didn't know if her coat was purple or black as right now it was a swirling mixture of the two. Her mane was burned off at the tips and was completely frazzled. There was no way in telling what her cutie mark was, unless it had something to do with a black blob. "Oh...customers!" The oddly coloured pony trotted up to them, staring at them intently. Her eyes were a perfect hue of purple. She lifted one hoof up to her forehead and gently rubbed a patch of black away from it, as she did this her mane lifted and a purple horn was revealed. "How may I help y-" She paused as she saw Gloom Heart's horn and wings, "Oh - your majesty." The pony bowed down low at the sight of them. As she rose up again she was met with furious eyes. "I am not ROYALTY," Gloom roared, "In fact I'm not even a stupid alicorn!" "But-" The other pony argued timidly, looking at Light Heart for support, but instead receiving an apologetic head shake. "I am a unicorn-pegasus," Gloom Heart opened her wings and glided towards the cowering pony, "Do you know the difference?" "Yes," The purply mre answered, gaining some composure, "But I had no idea they still exist. So I assumed that-" "Twilight! I brought the supplies you-" A child's voice entered the library behind them, "Oh, your majesty!" "I AM NOT ROYALTY!" Gloom exploded into a monstrous fit of anger. Twilight cowered again, fearing the worst. Gloom Heart turned around to see a light purple and green dragon staring wide-eyed at her. She heavily landed on the ground and was slowly walking towards the dragon when a giggle erupted from behind her. "You - *giggle* - should *giggle* - see your *giggle* face *snort* *giggle*!" Gloom whipped around and leaned close towards her sister's face. Her tense, angered expression soon died and the unicorn-pegasus sighed. "I need some air." She trotted outside, feeling disgusted at the show she had displayed inside the library. Leaving Canterlot was more of a choice for her than it was for Light. Too be honest she had grown tired of the ponies there, always so snooty and trying to out do each other. PonyVille had seemed like a good option, but now she was starting to regret her decision. "Are you okay, Gloomy?" A voice called out from behind. "Yeah, sure, whatever..."She trailed off, slightly confused at what she had just said. "Well, I got directions to Rarity's house," Light Heart paused, "Well actually more than directions. Twilight was going there to lend Rarity some books and she said we can go with her!" They sat in silence for a moment as Gloom looked expectantly at the door. A small hum came from Light Heart's direction as the white earth pony sat and stared into space. "So where is she?" Gloom Heart impatiently spat. "Oh -  she has to clean up a bit. Apparently you should never mix - uh - magnesiusisiside with smlaforusususus acid, whatever that means..." Gloom was very much sure that Light Heart had made up those words, but she couldn't be bothered to ask. "'Kay." She answered bluntly. After half an hour of silent waiting (apart from pitchy Light Heart hums), Twilight Sparkle, the purple unicorn appeared at the door. "Sorry to keep you waiting everypony. I couldn't get the soot out of my fur." "That's alright. Let's GO!" Light Heart cheerfully jumped to her feet. Gloom slowly followed. The three ponies started to walk south and it wasn't long before they heard, "WHO WANTS TO HEAR A JOKE?!"
