Holy Shit what's that!? I can… see…? I shouldn't be able to see…
Wait, why shouldn't I be able to see?
Nevermind...Okay… where am I right now?
Looking around I saw… not much, everything was exceptionally blurry
What I could see was giant things moving all around the place in a hurry
What language were they speaking? Why are they yelling?
I looked down at my body to see it was… furry? Okay, okay, don't panic. Let's see, my body has… four limbs… no fingers… and… I see a protrusion in my vision… a muzzle?
A horse? I'm a horse? Okay, cool…
I then spot something completely unexpected…
A small black dot rising up from my body
Fuck…
Let's hope they didn't see that
I heard the voices mumble something in disbelief
And it turns out they didn't, thank god
Okay, so recap, I'm a horse now, and I'm still an Ajin, and as well as that… I died… how?
Well, I was nearing… I don't know how old… but I heard Ajin can die of old age, so that's probably how I kicked the bucket…
I mentally shuddered as I tried to remember anything past a certain point in my past life
And then I did something really weird…
I started crying
My body tensed up and I started crying
I was filled with an overwhelming dread the moment I tried to remember anything
I felt someone pick me up and I was faced with a horrifying creature with giant eyes
Yet the creature looked at me with a kind of motherly love…
[4 Months Later]
“Demi…” I had heard my older brother, Ivory, mumble my name in his sleep
He was sleeping next to me on my parents bed after a long day of playing together
Well, more him playing, me laughing
I don't know why (probably because I'm a 4 month old now) but everything seems so much funnier
I cry easier, and I get angry easier
I feel emotions easier, is what I'm saying
He was 5 years older than me, and very...active, to say the least
He had a light reddish crimson coat, with piercing silver eyes and black naturally curly mane, and a pair of small wings on his back
I had learned the language of these people during my time here and… suffice to say, it's strangely complex
Due to the structure of our vocal cords, we could make a variety of noises unachievable by the human mouth, which is pretty cool, but other than that, I was able to learn it pretty fast due to the similarities to my native language
What's not cool is the fact that I can't fucking use magic
I'm in a world with goddesses that raise and lower Celestial bodies, and I don't have jack shit!
Maybe the fact that I'm an Ajin, but even that is more of a curse than anything
Yeah I have a horn and stuff, but I haven't had a single magic surge!
What's a magic surge, I hear you think
Well, basically, when a pony is really young, their body reacts to the natural magic in the atmosphere to… Well, to skip the nerd talk, baby ponies do magic
Earth Ponies can magically become stronger, Pegasus Ponies have random bursts of flight, and Unicorn Ponies perform random Magic. Sometimes even high level spells, simply by accident
But I haven't had any. Not a single magic surge my entire life, which means that I may or may not be screwed when it comes to the magic department
And another thing which I have come to realise about my reincarnation is… the fact that I'm a girl
I liked gender bender light novels when I was still… ‘alive’...alive meaning from what i can remember of my first life, and so I was quite accustomed to most things about being a gal
Just… strange that it's as a horse, or ‘pony’, as they prefer to call themselves
Apparently horse is a slur against Earth Ponies, which is something I did NOT know before I said the word (albeit very poorly due to my undeveloped vocal cords) near my Earth Pony Uncle and he started laughing his ass off
I heard the door open as a light pink young mare with beautiful multicoloured hair and both wings and a horn on her head walk in
That was Cadence, my babysitter
Not that I really need babysitting, but apparently my mom and dad think otherwise
Speaking of mom and dad, I see both of them enter the room with her
“Oh, thank you Cadence, we really are so happy for you to take this request on such short notice” said a deep voice. It was from my dad, a Unicorn with auburn red hair and light green coat, as well as piercing purple eyes
“No problem Mr Cube! But… this is gonna be a dual scheduling issue with another family I'm babysitting for… Though I'm certain that I would be able to get The Sparkles to let me bring over Demi and Ivory to have them all at once! And turns out, that their child is the same age as her and also hasn't gotten their Magic surges yet, I'm sure Demi and her could bond over that!” I heard Cadence reply… she really is working herself to the bone…
“Again, we are ever so sorry for this” I had heard my mother say. She had a silvery coat, with deep emerald eyes and desaturated greyish-blue and golden-yellow mane, and a pair of wings
Well, I guess I'm meeting someone new tomorrow…

What happened to me?
I couldn't remember much about my past life…
Maybe it was the fact that I am technically a child, with a child's brain so my memories are being locked away Denji Style
Speaking of Denji… I never got to see the end of Chainsaw Man
Nor did I ever see the end of Jujutsu Kaisen
I never finished Re;Zero or The Saga of Tanya the Evil…
Or Lookism or Baki!
There are a lot of things that I never got to finish…
It's currently the middle of the night
I have no clue why, but I always wake up at night
I have the slightest suspicion to what happened to me
There were rumours that the government of the country I was living in experimented on Ajin
So maybe that's the trauma my toddler brain is trying to protect me from…
Well, how bad could it possibly be?
I'm pretty sure my mind is just over reacting, no way it could be that bad
And why am I so sure that I'm an Ajin anyway?
Well, if I try to say that I'm not an Ajin, I get a strange pang in my chest and my eyes start to well up...
Oh, and also Maybe it's because of that…
My eyes glanced over to the side, where I saw a tall Humanoid creature made of black particles that my body was emitting
The creature had large wings on its back and halo above its head, clearly attached to the head like a costume
It had no face, or to be more specific, the face it had was completely black. Such a large density of particles that it blocked vision to it
It had 5 fingers on each hand, yet the fingers were sharp and looked more like claws
An IBM
I remember a scientific paper published by some Japanese guy who revealed that the black particles Ajin creates are able to form second bodies that only they, or things that it tries to kill are able to see
IBM stands for Invisible Black Matter. Not very scientific, but it was an accurate descriptor for it
Though… whilst the Japanese Scientist who created that paper was highly respected, most of the contents were treated as rumour
But judging by the fact that… It… is here, we can accurately say that guy was telling the truth
Well, not much else to do but sleep…
I was in an enclosed room, posters all over the place and a door in front of me
Oh! I know this place! It's from… Chainsaw Man? Did my mental Denji comment make my subconscious copy whatever he had done?
Huh…
Cool!
Does that mean that if I open the door, I'm gonna find out about what happened after the point where my memories were cut off?
I reach towards the door and try to pull the doorknob only…
“I have a hoof…” I couldn't open the door because I had a hoof, not a hand
And I couldn't even use Hoof Magic (A basic magic all three pony types know that allows them to hold things) because I haven't gotten my magic surges yet!
Wait, this is a dream, why would that matter?
“Through the power vested in me as a lucid dreamer, I will thee to open!” I say… and nothing happens
Well, that's to be expected
No way a moment of character development like that would be occurring so soon
Maybe when I'm older or something…
While I'm here, maybe I should read some manga!
I materialised a copy of Chainsaw Man Volume 1 and began reading
Of course I've read it before, but it doesn't stop it from being a good read…
And if you're wondering how I could read manga that I read over 3 years ago in my sleep… that's because I have something called an ‘Eidetic Memory’
Funny, that means I can't forget anything ever, but there's also a large chunk of my life presumably missing from said memory
I just kept reading and reading until I woke up in the morning...

Yeah, that ‘Dual Scheduling’ thing was most likely a ploy to spend more time with her boyfriend
They were roughly the same age, and from what I could tell, they truly DID love each other
Most of the time though, me and Twilight just laughed at the dumb shit my older brother was doing
While you might call it irresponsible, I'm pretty sure Candace used some sort of magic to bab- foalproof the room
I let them do what they want, it's not like I care that much

It's the third time this week that she's had ‘Dual Scheduling Issues’ and had to stay over at The Sparkles…

It's been 3 more months, and Candace and Shining Armour were caught in the act!
Apparently The Sparkles approve of the relationship, but only if they hold on the more inappropriate activities till they become adults
God knows if that's gonna stop them…
Okay, it's been a stupidly long time…
And I've learned a very… strange piece of information…
This world doesn't share the same system of time that my old world used to
Instead of 1 year being 365 days, a year is 1000 days
And in this world, a month is still 30 days, yet the year is divided into 33 months, and a pseudo-month that only appears once every 3 years
These numbers are almost always constant, no matter what
But a pony still reaches biological maturity at 15 years of age, and legal maturity at 18
Most numbers stay the same though
A filly becomes a foal at 5 years old, so these Ponies seem to develop mentally slower than humans
But that may be a good thing, because Ponies seem to have an inherent, higher level of natural emotional maturity…

I reached the 1 year mark!
And holy shit was it a wild ride… My birthday was amazing! There was cake, and Twilight was there, and there was music, and Candace and Shining Armour were there, did I mention the cake?
Through this 1 year, many things happened
But it was a good year nonetheless
I had decided that it would be a good time to say my first words
And so, I decided to make it dramatic…

I was sitting in front of a birthday cake. A very big birthday cake
Well, average size probably, but I'm a child so it looks massive to me
I looked at the cake, before looking at my parents at my side…
“Mommy, Daddy? Thank You” I said, before blowing the candles out
My parents were utterly starstruck by the fact that I could speak so young
Even more so at how good my pronunciation was
I giggled to myself as I saw their expressions of shock, turn into that of absolute amazement, and then into pride in their “genius” child
It was now the dead of night
I always crawled my way around in the mornings, but at night, I had my friend Icarus carry me
Icarus is what I named my IBM, it's a good name I think, or maybe not
I don't know, I think he likes it though
Can he even think?
I'm not sure…
Well whatever, carrying me up, he moved towards my mother's study
Both my mother and father were breadwinners (which is the reason I spend so much time with Candace) but in wildly different fields
Whilst my Father owns a small-time bakery, my mother is a worker at the Royal Canterlot Palace. Often meeting important figures like Celestia
She was an accountant, and likes reading
From the looks of it, you would expect my stern and no-nonsense dad to be the one with the important government Job, and my kind and caring mother to be the Baker, but it's actually the complete opposite
Mom and Dad were usually asleep this late at night, so that means I can do whatever I want! (As long as I'm quiet)
Picking up a book on the history of Equestrian Magic, I use Icarus to flip through the pages for me

I've been studying this book for the longest time now… its so fucking hard to translate this thing without a teacher…
“Icarus, light a candle for me, and get a few more books”
I say and he head off to find a candle and lights it for me so I could have a better vision of the book, as well as bringing down a few books from the shelf, as I read deep into the night
Well… the time has finally come…
My fifth birthday had come and passed
Which means… that it's time for me to go to school
Twilight's going to Celestia's School for Gifted Ponies, and me being a “Genius”, it was fair that I would go as well
Just… I still can't do magic
Neither me nor Twilight could
I wonder how we could enter magic school without magic?
I knew almost everything about theory, like Twilight
Maybe I could use Icarus to fake magic?
I mean, no one else should be able to see him, so I should be fine
I was incredibly nervous
Even though I should be well above 20 years old mentally, I guess I haven't really grown that much
Since people grow through new experiences, simply reliving experiences you've already dealt with isn't enough to make you grow mentally
I felt a pair of wings wrap around my side as my mother and Ivory give me a sort of hug
“You nervous?” I hear my mother ask
“Was it that obvious?” I reply
“Yes… Yes it was” she says as I look down meekly, a small bit of embarrassed blush on my face
“But… mom, I haven't even had a single Magic Surge yet! I don't think I'll ever be able to use magic…” I say with my head hung low
This was really getting to me for some reason
“You'll be fine…” I hear a voice from my side, as Ivory patted my back with his wing. He was now ten years old, and enlisting into a military school (out of his own choice) in order to join the Wonderbolts… I swear, the amount of info I got stuffed into my head because of this nerd is just… “I've never met anybody as smart as you, and you're only 5! I'm sure they'll see how great you are, even if you can't use magic”
“Hehe… Thanks…” I say, nuzzling up to him and my mom, as my dad pats my head with his hoof
He doesn't speak much, but he shows his love in more physical ways, like hugs and head pats. He doesn't really like physical touch if it isn't initiated by him
Apparently it's a condition called ‘Selective Mutism’
But I love him
Next up was Twilight, as she walked into the building where the test was being held, I have her a big hearty smile as she turned to look at me
I can confidently say that me and Twilight are best friends, and I need to give my friend as much encouragement as I possibly could

Yes, I'm made the Dad a self insert autism pony. Deal with it
Currently, Demi was reading the book of Equestrian History, cross referencing words she didn't know with the context used in other books to find out meaning
For some reason or another, her mother had decided to never add a dictionary to her collection of books
Icarus was leaning over Demi… until it realised something
Demi, being the young foal she was, fell asleep
Icarus, slowly and carefully put all the books away, before snuffing out the candle and putting it away
Icarus reached out to Demi
As Icarus’s sharp claws inched closer and closer to Demi’s head, it did something odd
It began to pat her head softly
It was quite a sight, to see a monstrous creature like Icarus doing an action so loving
It had been a few minutes until Icarus stopped, picking up Demi and Examining her
Her dual coloured grey with a single green stripe Mane, her silvery coat, and the crimson gems she calls eyes that were locked behind her eyelids
Icarus continued to pat her head as he moved towards her small bed. Placing her down gently, before disappearing

Short Omake Chap I felt like writing. Yes this is cannon, and yes the possible lore implications of this are humongous (if you've read Ajin, then you know)

It had been a few minutes since Twilight had entered the room… and something bizarre had happened
I felt an ominous chill run down my spine as I look outside the window to see a giant rainbow burst it's way towards us at incredible speeds
A sonic boom was heard, and the glass shattered around us
I felt my body fill with a surge of fear as I feel something inside of me get filled
I saw a purple glow emit from the room Twilight had entered, as I saw my horn begin to glow with silvery light
A large burst of magic had forcefully activated my magic surges
My horn burnt hot red due to the large amount of magic forcing its way to it, trying to escape, but my lacklustre control and no knowledge on how to release magic had caused it to build up dangerously
I had no idea how to control it, causing my horn to overheat
I heard an explosion from Twilight's room as rubble fell, and my fear for her safety grew ever greater
I looked around, seeing all the Ponies looking in extreme worry
”AHHHHHHH”
I screamed out at the top of my lungs, as my voice reached a pitch I never thought possible, and all the Ponies around me froze
My head hurt so fucking much
“IT FUCKING BURNS” I shout in pain… due to the low amounts of pain receptors in the horn because of it being a focal point of magic, I never really realised how fucking hot my horn was getting until the heat travelled down my horn and onto my head
I see a flash of white light and see a white, tall Alicorn looking over to me in surprise
She quickly turns around, using Magic to open the door to the magical testing room, only to see a floating, yet unharmed, Twilight Sparkle, as well as a giant green and purple dragon
I grit my teeth in pain, yet I feel an overwhelming calm as I see her safe(ish)
Celestia then quickly faces me, and places her horn on mine, sucking out the excess magical energy (otherwise known as mana) inside of my body, and distributing it around the place thinly, causing my horn to rapidly cool down… when I say rapidly, I mean after a good few minutes of total Goddess concentration
It took a while before the glowing started to stop
My parents were still frozen, but Ivory had managed to start moving and dashed towards me in a tackle/hug
By the time that He had hugged me, Twilight had stopped glowing, and my parents had begun to move again, but everyone else was still frozen…
“There will be no more applicants for today. You may all return tomorrow” She says in a regal tone, her powerful voice being able to shock everyone out of their frozen state
“Except, for you two” she says gently with a smirk, as me and Ivory begin moving towards our parents
Currently, both me and Twilight were sat with the royal canterlot Palace doctors, who were Examining out conditions for any irregularities
We were in a pure white, hospital looking room. The Palace infirmary
To my side was Celestia
I looked over at Twilight, and admired her new cutie mark
It was a purple Shining Star…
“Its quite rare, to have a special talent in magic” I had heard Celestia say. She must have realised what I was doing, as a bit of blush filled my face in embarrassment
I turned to my own flank in a small amount of sadness. Even though Twilight had managed to get it, I was still a blank flank…
The Doctors turned to Celestia with a nod, before leaving the room
“Congratulation, Twilight Sparkle, Demi Cube, you have been accepted into Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, as my direct students”
All eyes widened in shock, as our expressions betrayed our suprise…
My parents and Ivory turned to me and hugged me, and Twilight's did the same for her

“Has it been that long…?” I question myself, before trotting over to the table to my side and began writing

Sending over the letter to Princess Celestia using Magic, I return to my table and begin to read yet again, before…
In a burst of green flame, a scroll appears on my table… Opening it I begin to read its contents

“Wait what?”
I can't fucking believe this…
This has GOT to be an abuse of power or something…
I was now flying out of Manehatten in carriage being flown by two royal guard Ponies
I didn't bother to remember who they were, or their names but, I made sure to give them a thanks as we landed
And right in front of me was a certain purple pal of mine
“Twilight, it's so good to see you” I said, my voice laced with a kind of sarcasm that was blatantly apparent
“Just as nice to meet you” She replied… before we both broke down into small fit of laughter. She rushed over to me and gave me a hug as I reciprocated and
Me and Twilight were friends, but with how we're the only two direct students of equestria, a sort of friendly rivalry was formed between us, which caused moments like this to occur
Celestia seemed to encourage it, and so this happened
Seems we would be living together as well as we compared our letters and saw the same address written on it
“This place is kind of empty though…” I remark “Wanting to make friends in a Ghost town, does she want us to practise necromancy?”
I asked rather seriously in questioning, but Twilight simply brushed it off as a joke of some sort. This seems to happen a lot with us
We wandered through the streets looking for somepony, anypony to talk to… and we happen to have met a Pink pony with frazzeled hair of similar shade
“Maybe we should start by gathering directions to the first place?” I look towards the letter and began to read “Banquet Preparations at Sweet Apple Acres”
Twilight decided for the first encounter, and I decided that delegating the task would be faster than doing it myself
“Anyway, Im gonna go… check out the accommodations! You go do… whatever” I briskly began to canter away
“Wait, you can't just leave me to-” She stared at the trail of dust and sighed “and like always, I have to do all the work…”
“Well, at least you got me!” Twilight chuckled slightly and agreed with her psuedo-brother
Now that I’ve pushed the task to my associate, I entered my humble abode after a bit of wandering. A not so simple library built on the inside of a tree
I felt my eyes heave…
“Oh yeah… I haven't slept in a few days since I’ve been so busy… might as well enjoy this vacation a bit and hit the hay…”
Walking over to the first bed I saw, I fell instantly into a deep sleep
"Dreamscape! Oh how I’ve missed you! Well…”
A single book appeared in my hands, and yes, I have hands. I figured that since I can do whatever I want in here, might as well use a body I’m much more acustomed to
“Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 8-10”
I've been doing some research on how Satoru Gojo’s abilities work within the Manga, and… yeah, its practically impossible to replicate in real life
Because Magic in itself is a positive energy, if I could theoretically get limitless, I would have ‘Aka’ (Red) first, and 'Ao' (Blue) would be theoretically impossible. Since I would have no way to create a negative energy through a positive energy. Its possible if I was born with a Negative energy source, because through the multiplication of two negative energies, I could create positive ones, but since I don’t… yeah I can't get it anytime soon
Which means no ‘Murasaki’ (Purple) for now, or, ever actually
‘Mugen’ (Infinity) is however, theoretically possible and my best chance at ever using Gojo’s Technique
Even he can only use it through having both the technique ingrained into his mind and the utterly broken Rikugan (Six-Eyes)
“It would be so fucking cool though…”
In order to at least create 'Mugen' I’d need to calculate the vectors and have knowledge of almost all the space within my immediate surroundings, before using a shit ton of magic to divide literal space. If I tried I could probably do it but not to an Infinite degree like Gojo. ‘Mugen’ divides space infinitely and therefore slows down an object infinitely, making it unable to reach Gojo, but for me I could only slow it down to maybe a Tenth of its original speed, and thats with using all the magic I have in my body all at once
“Twilight may be able to do something similar with her cutie mark but she would die from the information overload…”
I would also die of course… but that isn't much of a problem to me, after all I’ll come back after a bit
Maybe if she also had the abilities I had, she could get a perfect ‘Mukagen' like Satoru Gojo, since she could practise without worry for her own life like me…
“I still don't have my cutie mark, so its a major probability that it isn't related to magic in the slightest, or my physique as an ‘Ajin’ makes it impossible to have one… which is a major nerf, but I guess it fits a broken power like immortality”
Still… it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Im only on par with Twilight due to my ability to recklessly use magic as much as I want without consequence, but I have a much lower amount of Magical Power, or ‘Mana’ as they call it, than her
“I could try and tap into the energy that makes up Icarus, but experiments with that so far say its impossible… and if I do tap into it, what if its a finite resource? I’ll lose my immortality and Icarus… mass can't be created from nothing, and I can revive a (seemingly) infinite amount, that I know due to the highest death record set by an Ajin being in the thousands if I remember… and probably still going up... so if not infinite, its a stupidly large pool of energy”
Then again those same fears of it being a finite resource should make me avoid death entirely, so… I mean, if I die, I die, right? I've done 'it' (suicide) a bunch experimenting with how my physiology works, so, I don't think it would be that painful… well it probably would but I'm used to it
But then again, the same idea of maybe the energy that creates Icarus being a positive one… then I'm back to square one with no 'Ao'. It sounds impossible but I do love the challenge
“Hmm?” As these thoughts flooded my head as I read, I noticed a character… a pretty important character
“Well maybe I could replicate that… albeit in an incredibly scuffed and shrewd manner…”
If I do replicate this character, I would probably suffer from the same consequences… but death returns me to my original state, so it isn't a permanent change
“This might just work…!”
I mean, whats the worse that can happen? I die?

1000th Summer Sun Celebration (GONE WRONG) (NOT CLICKBAIT)
“Wake Up Demi!” I heard a young male voice and a prick on my back, as well as a lot of shuffling around
“Fucking hell is it wednesday already?” I murder as I recall memories of the dustman blaring his loud as hell siren
Turns out it was just Spike, the shuffling was some ponies downstairs having a party… well, i guess it would make sense to stay awake since the sunrise is when the summer sun festival begins, meeting Celestia and all that
I look to Spike
“Im alright just head downstairs, I’m gonna go freshen up” I say, as he leaves, not getting a single word in edgewise
I open my pre-packed emergency saddle bag for whenever I need to go outside, looking inside to see two beer bottles, a custard cream sachet and some moldy sandwiches
Its been a whilst since I went out..
“Fucking hell…” I don't bother with trying to change anything out, the Beers I’ll need to deal with ponies, the custard cream for any sweets (everything's better with custard) and the moldy sandwiches which were initially for eating, but… well they're just bad now
Throwing the modly sandwiches in the bin nearby as a common decency to myself, before heading towards the shower and bathroom, cleaning myself off as the party below me was beginning to thin a bit. I managed to see that Twilight had already set almost everything of hers set up, taking out a guest bed and putting her stuff on it. She packed pretty heavy, most of it being ink and quills and things of the sort, but I just kept to a toothbrush, my emergency saddle bag, and daily necessities
I try to rub my eyes with fingers that aren't there, a common side effect of using that body during my dreams, and ended up putting on my glasses
Turns out my vision went to shit as I grew older, and whilst magic could do a temporary fix for a bit in emergencies, its easier and better to just use glasses. Since it was a natural process, my death wouldn't reverse it
Same for my vision in my past life… speaking of, since I could only remember until I was about 15. I remember my first few deaths, then my parents reporting me being an Ajin, then the government taking me away
I also remember how the country i was living in was going to shit because of the new PM
What am I doing saying ‘Country I was Living in’, its not a mystery that I lived in Britain

“I could go for a cigarette…” I say to myself in the shower

I thought many other thoughts as I finished up, drying myself off
I put on some clothes, a tank top with jeans. Most ponies don't wear clothes unless going to events but I prefer to always wear them since it helps block ponies seeing my blank flank, and i feel uncomfortable without them
Speaking off events, I didn't even realise since I was too obsessed with my research, but my 21st birthday came and went, Celestia probably sent a letter that I forgot about
Now that I’m fresh and ready, I realise all the humbuzz from below was gone, indicating that everypony probably left to go see Celestia make the sun rise
“Shit, I spent too long showering!”
Quickly rushing, I take my saddle bag and fling it on my back before bursting out of the house towards the location listed, somewhere in the town hall, no clue where that is
“Icarus!”
Appearing besides me, Icarus flies upwards, before coming down and pointing me in the direction with most ponies
With heaving breaths, I manage to sneak in, standing next to Twilight, who seemed a little to preoccupied with something she was thinking about to care that I arrived in the nick of time
Spike was sitting on her back, admiring the decor of the place
There was a bird song going on, in the background, and a yellowish cream coloured pegasus mare with pastel pink hair conducting it, with three butterflies as a cutie mark floating in the air

The spotlights panned to a grey haired older hair with a darker shade of creme than the other one, maybe their related? Probably not
"Fillies and Gentlecolts, as Mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the 1000th Summer Sun Celebration!” She readjusted the glasses on her face as I do it myself as well on instinct
All the ponies around us began to cheer at this statement, yet I could tell something was on Twilights mind
“In just a few moments” the Mayor continued “Our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year!
“And now, it is my great honour to introduce to you the ruler of our land, The very pony who gives us the Sun and the Moon each and every day… The Good, the Wise, The bringer of harmony to all of Equestria…” The lights pan upwards, as a white coated unicorn with a (amazingly well maintained) purple mane, pulled down a rope that opened some curtains revealing! “Princess Celestia!”
Backround Music:
Nopony was there. Everypony around us began to murmur as I heard Twilight mumble
“This can’t be good…”
“Calm down everypony, I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation…” The Mayor attempted to calm everypony. It didn't work, as the hall was stricken with silence
A Pink pony besides Twilight broke the tension
“Ooh! Ooh! I love guessing games! Is she hiding?”
The purple maned unicorn from before walked up, and announced some not so great news
“She’s gone!”
Everypony gasped
“Oooh… she’s good…!” The Pink Pony stated, before yelping “AHHH!”
A purplish blue mist filled with stars collected where Celestia should be, slowly materialising into a pony… an Alicorn
“Oh no…” I hear Twilight
One with mist-like hair covered by a helmet, and a variation of the royal guards armour I had never seen before
“Nightmare Moon…” Spike immediately fainted, falling backwards onto the floor dramatically
“Oh my beloved subjects! Its been so long since I’ve seen your precious little sun-loving faces…” The mysterious Alicorn known as ‘Nightmare Moon’ said with spite…
“What did you do with our princess!” Yelled a light blue coated pegasus with a rainbow of a mane, flying as fast as she could towards Nightmare Moon, only to be stopped instantly by an Orangish earth pony mare with freckles and a cowboy hat, biting down on her tail
“Woah there nelly!
Nightmare Moon simply released an Eerie laugh…
“Why? Am I not royal enough for you?” there was a sudden shift in tone, into something of anger “Don’t you know who I am!”
“Yay! More guessing games! Uhm… Hockey Smokes! How about Queen Meanie? No! Black Snooty! Black Sn-” The cowgirl pony who was still holding the pegasus by the tail, shoved an apple into the Pink Ponies mouth
“Does my crown no longer count now that I’ve been imprisoned for a thousand years?” Nightmare Moon intimidated the yellowish pegasus pony, before moving to the purple maned one and lifted her face with her mist mane “Did you not recall the legends? Did you not see the signs?”
“I did!” Twilight interuppted, holding her ground against the Alicorn “And I know who you are! You’re the Mare in the moon! Nightmare Moon!”
Everypony gasped yet again. It seems they do this alot
“Well Well Well, somepony who remembers me… then you also know why I’m here!” she challanged
“Your here to… Your here to…” Typical Twilight, always being stumped on the easiest questions. Not like I knew the answer either though-
Nightmare Moon let out another laugh
“Remember this day, ponies, for it shall be your last! From This moment forth, the night, shall las-”
“Sorry to interupt miss Moon… but what your saying is your the bad guy?” I stopped her before she could finish her sentence
“Me? The bad guy? No! Im simply allowing you ponies to indulge in the night! Forever!”
“Alright, Eternal Tsukiyomi Type Villain, good to know. I hope you’ve enjoyed your power trip, because its about to end… ICARUS!”
Suddenly, three holes appeared across her chest, blood dripping to the floor, but it only managed to go so far before her chest turned to mist
I was the only one who was able to see, Icarus's Ring, Middle and Index finger beginning to pierce her body. It only managed to get an Inch or two inside of her body, but it was more than enough to catch her off guard for what happened next
“Y-You Impudent little! How did you!?” she was in utter shock, unable to understand how I managed to harm her without using magic
“Knew that wouldn't work… well, might as well try this new spell of mine out!” My horn glowed with a bright silver light, as my entire body began to be encompassed in mana “HEAVENLY RESTRICTION VERSION 1.0!”
Simply put, I pushed as much magic as physically possible within my muscles, automating the process with a simple spell, but since its all my magic… I won't be able to use any other spells right now…
Launching myself upwards at Nightmare Moon, I prepare for physical combat of the greatest kind, as the Cowgirl pony stops holding onto the pegasus's tail, and she launched towards Nightmare at blitzing speeds. I managed to get there first, and I landed the first blow straight to the muzzle
Yet she turned to mist before I was able to touch her, and she escaped…
“Dang it… I almost had her there…” If only I was a little faster…
Icarus caught me, stopping me from landing straight on my Muzzle. Right now, the only way to reverse this Psuedo-Heavenly Restriction would be for me to die. For normal ponies, this spell would be a death sentence since it would permanently remove your ability to use magic. What makes spells complex is not just the effect, but the deactivation. Since I can skip the deactivation of spells I apply on myself (since all I have to do is die in order to reverse it), I can effectivly half the complexity of most spells
“Well Twilight? Mind explaining who the hell that was?” Twilight would know. Whilst I keep my head in scrolls or combatative magic, Twilight researches all sorts of things, such as the History of this country… thats also why I have the upperhand in combat situations
Whilst Twilight has the Talent to be an all-rounder, I’m forced to be hyperspecific in what I research
Before anything could even be said though, Twilight darted out of there, a passed out Spike plonked on her back
Me, the yellow pony, cowgirl pony, pink pony, purple maned pony and rainbow pony all dashed after her. She had managed to get to the Library first
Well… It’s been a hell of a long time since I’ve fought anyone… so this will at the very least be fun…

Journey to the W̶e̶s̶t̶ Castle
I burst in through the door, I was one of the first since I had HR V1 Active, which I will probably keep active for the immediate future since Nightmare Moon can turn into mist… and she could be watching me at this very moment, and I don't want to reveal my Immortality to her just yet…
“Elements, Elements, Elements…” I heard Twilight murmur to herself, Spike was off her shoulders and now placed on his bed from what I could see, and Twi was frantically searching for something. The main library room was a mess of books strewn across the floor… so now I know this is definitely an emergency. “UGH! How can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony!”
The technicolour pegasus flew in from the window, confronting Twilight
“And just what ARE the Elements of Harmony!?” She flew closer to Twilight in an attempt of intimidation and she walked closer “And how did YOU know about Nightmare Moon, Huh? Are you a Spy?”
The cowgirl pony had arrived to calm her girlfriend, tugging on her tail for a moment as miss skittles yelped
“Simmer down sally! She aint no spy… but she sure knows whats going on…” The rest of the group had reconvened, gathering and backing Twilight into a corner "Dontchya Twiligh'..."
“Wait wait wait wait… before anything… who are you ponies?” I stood infront of Twilight and asked the only thing on my mind right about now
“Oh, sorry, Mah names Applejack, This here's Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash" She introduced everyone “But… sorry for asking but who are you?”
“Oh, this is Demi Cube-” I interuppted Twilight
“Full Government is crazy, you all can call me Demi… but they're right, Twilight, how did you know of Nightmare Moon?”
She backed away slightly, before sighing
“I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Moon, some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop her, But I don't know what they are! Where to find them! I don't even know what they do!” her face was full of her trademarked panic…
“The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide” The pony now known as Pinkie read out loud. Twilight dashed over, bumping her out of the way to see it
“How did you find that!?” she yelled, as I watched from the sidelines, as Pinkie began bouncing around
“It was under E~!” Pinkie replied in a Sing-song voice, before Twilight let out a deflated ‘Oh’, and I tried to stifle a laugh. She gave me a scowl and I turned my face away, still trying to hold back
Twilight pulled the book out with magic, flipping to the glossary, before flipping to a page and reading alloud
“There are Six Elements of Harmony, but Only Five are known. Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty, the sixth is a complete mystery, It is said, that the last known location was in the ancient castle of the Royal Pony Sisters… it is located in wh t is now…”
The rest of the group was huddled around the book, reading it as she did, and the all stuttered in unison reading out the final lines
“T-the Everfree Forest!?”
Pinkie was the first to break the silence, much like always
“Whee! Lets go!”
“Not so fast!” Twilight stopped her dead in her tracks “Look, I appreciate the offer, but I really rather do this on my own…”
“No can do Sugarcube, we sure aint letting any Friend-” both me and Twilight flinched at the word “-of ours go into that creepy place Alone. We're sticking to you like Caramel on a Candy Apple”
“And Really Twi? You expect ME of all ponies to go ahead and let you hog all the fun?” I say with a smirk, walking past her as we all began to walk out of the library and towards the whatever free forest
We were a few minutes into out excursion, and we managed to find ourselves on a small cliff side. There was plenty of room so I doubt it would fall or collapse without any large external forces
“So… none of you have been in here before?” I could hear a hint of fear in her voice… well I probably would also be scared if I was in any danger… I moved a little closer to my Rival in order to at least give her a bit more security, though I doubt I did much to help
“Oh heavens no! Just look at it… its dreadful!” Rarity spoke with… a british accent? Did I finally meet one of my people?
“And It aint natural! Folks say it don't work the same as Equestria…” Applejack added on
"What does that mean?” I question, as Rainbow swoops in from above, landing near the front, getting low to the ground
“No~pony knows…” she said ominously, in a blatant attempt to spook us. It worked on Fluttershy. Which, now that I think of it, is a perfect descriptor of her entire personality “You know why?”
“Rainbow! Quit it!” Applejack yelled, being ahead of her, along with Me and Twilight
“Cuz everypony who’s ever come in… has never… come… OUT!” she yelled the last bit, as the large sound must've disrupted the cliff in a way where it fell, Fluttershy and Rainbow were pegasus so they managed to fly before they fell, and instantly, without speaking they both dashed forwards as fast as they could in order to catch us… Two pegasi, can't catch 5 Ponies who can't fly…
Well guess the cats getting out of the bag
Really hoped I could keep it a secret a bit longer but oh well
The drop wasn't straight down, we all slid down the curve of the cliff’s face, which hurt like hell. I could feel bits of my skin scraping and burning from the friction
“IGNORE ME! GET THE REST FIRST!” I yell, as they both caught Pinkie and Rarity, with Applejack catching onto a loose branch and saving herself, yet Twilight was left out sliding down reaching, managing to hold onto the edge of a hoofhold further down "ICARUS!”
Icarus materialised, flying towards Twilight in order to help her up but… it seems I used him too much today, as he faded out of existence after a few seconds of flying…
Applejack let go of the branch in a controlled slide down to get her, as I fell down off the edge, too preoccupied with everyone else's safety to care

There was a loud crunch

I landed legs first.
I stared down at their crooked form, and grit my teeth in pain
A compound comminuted fracture
Comminuted means the bone had shattered into more than 1 piece at the place of fracture, Compound means that it breaks the skin at the impact, or that its pierced through the skin, which it had
I couldn't use magic to kill myself sadly, the Heavenly Restriction was still in effect since I hadn't died yet. And I couldn't move my legs because… well, obvious reasons
If I landed wrong, this would be deadly, and even with the way I did, I would bleed out before help could get here…
No way a regular Pegasi could scream loud enough to cause this… which means that this was done artificially, probably due to some interference caused by Nightmare…
She’s out to kill us…
At least I know not to hold back anymore when fighting her
A smile crawled up my face, before I stopped myself and stared up
I need to talk to them, more specifically Twilight, but all the air was pushed out of my body from the impact… Its gonna take a while to recover my breath
It didn't take long for Fluttershy and Rainbow to drop Pinkie and Rarity down at the bottom of the drop… I was being hidden by some trees and bushes, but this cover wouldn't last long…
Well, it seems like its gonna take a bit till Twilight gets here, and the adrenaline iss about to run out, and I don't want to scream my head off, so suicide it is
Biting down on my tongue, I’m surprised at how I am able to completely sever it… well glad to know the Heavenly Restriction is working well
Time to choke!

Black particles rose from my body, indicating that I had now revived!
I quickly take off my now bloody clothes and am left butt booty naked

Well thankfully I was born into a civilisation of nudists
Walking out of the bush, I met with the rest
“Demi! Where in Celestias Mane were you!” I heard Twilight say as she turned to me
“I died. Don't worry I got better” That seemed to be good enough for her, but Rainbow wasn't convinced, as she squinted her eyes and gave me a side eye
“Well if you must know, I fell onto some trees, which managed to save me from a broken leg… sadly they also tore my clothes to bits, so I was a bit busy changing out of them” I lied as naturally as I breathed
I could feel a gaze linger on me… I turned my head to see some mist, purple and sparkly
It quickly leaves
“You spot something?” Twi asked. I turned to her slowly
“No, It’s nothing…”
My eyes wandered to the direction it went, as I heard a deafening roar
“Thats definitely not good…”

Apparently, I was the only one who heard that, because everyone else brushed it off immediately. I mean I get why, it was a bit faded in volume and could easily be talked over… I only registered it as a roar since I was focused on it direction-wise
“-And once Pinkie and Rarity were saved, whoosh... Me and Fluttershy loop-de-loop around and WHAM! Caught you right in the nick of time” Currently, Rainbow was regaling us with the tale of how she saved Twilight…
Yeah I’m never gonna let her live this down
“Wow, thats incredible… mind if I hear it again? Just to refresh my memory?” Twilight shot a glare at me, one that would kill me if I wasn't immortal.
“You know Demi, your memory has gotten terrible lately, maybe you should consider going to a doctor?” I roll my eyes in a playful manner. She knows I can't forget stuff, even If I tried. Which means she also knows I’m doing this exclusively to annoy her “And, Rainbow, I was there, and I'm very grateful, but we gotta—”
“C’mon Twilight, you should be a little more respectful to your…” I almost cracked a laugh but managed to hold it in “Pfft…S-saviour…”

“A MANTICORE!" Twilight yelled
With red scorpion tail, the body of a lion the size of an elephant, the ears of a bat and yellow and crimson dragon-like wings

“We’ve got to get past him!” said missus state-the-obvious
Rarity was attacked first, and she actually decided to fight for some reason, ducking under the paw of the Manticore with surprising ease, she then jumped up and bucked him right in the snout
“Take that you ruffian!” the Manticore then went straight up in her face and roared in it. The force of the yell absolutely ruining her hair. She promptly had a small fit about it, before running off
Well I might as well survey the fighting ability of this lot. Thats helpful no matter what situation I’m in
”wait!”
It chased after the purple pony, but thankfully Applejack came to the rescue, saddling herself on the creature’s back, as it stopped in its tracks, now wildly bucking in order to try and get her off
“Yee~ Haw!" oh no she’s american “Git along, lil’ doggy!”
Now that Manticore was jumping all over the place, leaping in order to try and get AJ off
”wait!”
Eventually, the creature managed to launch AJ off, as she went flying
Her hat had flung off as well, but she didn't seem to mind
“All yours, Pardner” she said to Rainbow who was staying stationary in the air, not even bothering to catch her
“I’m on it!” RD did a little salute jokingly, before rushing towards the creature
Flying pass Fluttershy in a speeding blitz, circling the Manticore as a rainbow blur
”wait!”
The Manticore, however, swatted her out of the air with it’s scorpion tail…
I should probably take this thing down now
“RAINBOW!” I heard Twi yell in shock at my side
The pegasus was hit towards us thankfully, and ponies are pretty tough so all she got were some scratches on her chin from sliding cross the ground
Twilight steps forward, and so do I
I calm my breathing and close my eyes, as I begin to focus on the air within my body
The rest of the gang do that weird bull thing where they brush their hooves across the ground in preparation to charge, as I begin to gather some magic in my horn
I’m not all that good at magic, so it takes me while to cast spells, which is why I usually don't step in to fight that fast
“Waiiiiit!” I heard Fluttershy yell, shocking both me and apparently everyone else, as she jumps in between all of us and the creature
She turns around walking to the Manticore as it lifts its paws in preparation to attack Fluttershy. Everypony else averts their gaze as my mind starts to clock into overdrive
The muscles in my legs tense up, firing with extreme power to propel me forwards toward the incoming attack. But I wasn't fast enough. After all my False Heavenly Restriction had reset due to my revival.
Seems I didn't have to worry though, as in an instant, Fluttershy nuzzled up towards the paw and managed to convince the Manticore to display their paw, showcasing a massive thorn agitating it.
“Oh, you poor, poor little baby…” Fluttershy comforted the beast.
““Little?”” I thought, and Rainbow Dash said at the exact same time
“Now this might hurt for ju~st a second” Flutter said, biting down on the thorn and yanking it out in one swift motion
The Manticore roared in pain straight into Fluttershy's face, before calming down and licking her face
“...It’s just a big cat…” I responded to the silence
Well thats good
I release the breath I was subconsciously holding and walked forward with the rest of the group, as the Manticore released Fluttershy and she rejoined everypony else
“How did you know about the thorn?” Twilight asked as we walked. Fluttershy's hair now in a strange upwards position from the licking
“I didn’t. Sometimes we all need to be shown a little… kindness”
As we all regrouped, I felt a chill down my back as I turn my head as fast as I could and stared at the thorn laying on the ground
“What is it Demi Cube?” Rainbow Dash asked
“Full Government is crazy work” Wait I’ve made that joke before "Didn't I tell y’all to just call me Demi?”
“You did? Huh, it must've slipped my mind” She said, rubbing the back of her head with her hoof with a look of confusion
“Whatever, It’s nothing, just thought I heard something. Must've been the Manticore…”
I take another look at the thorn, squinting my eyes before reluctantly looking forwards and getting by with the others
As we were walking, it did not take long to reach a forested area yet again
“Ugh, My eyes need a rest from all of this… Icky Muck”
The foliage of the canopy blocked everything, stopping anypony from receiving any light
The world went black
“Well I didn't mean that literally” Rarity responded
Huh, who knew
The British pony has a decent sense of humour
“That ancient ruin could be in out faces and we wouldn't even know it!”
“Thats a pretty good point. Its not like we have any unicorns particularly adept enough at magic to… I don't know, cast an illumination spell?” I responded, as Twilight stopped and chuckled a bit
A small light emitting from her horn, but it dimmed and flickered out as soon as it was cast
“Huh?” I heard her mumble
She closed her eyes and focussed, a drop of sweat accumulating on her forehead because of the effort
“I thought you studied Applied Thaumaturgy?” I say sarcastically
“This specific area is heavily interfered with by… something. It's stopping me from using any Magic! I can brute force it if I try but I’d rather not use much Mana before getting to Nightmare Moon!” Well shit
This can’t get any worse
A dull pang rang across my skull
A clear indication that Icarus is able to be summoned
My reverse psychology ‘This can't get any worse’ thought worked
Summoning him, I make him fly above the forest as I feel him nearly fizzle out
Suddenly, I hear the group scream out in fear before running off
“Wait for me!” I say before halting and thinking over something
It nearly fizzled out?
That doesn't normally happen
Why?
Probably because of the magic thing
But that means Icarus was made of mana…
But that isn't correct is it?
Otherwise It wouldn't be able to coagulate and form within my body, and therefore regenerate
So it is, as I suspected, an energy separate from mana. That I already knew, but the new information is...
The fact that this energy can be disrupted using magic
My eyes flash with realisation and my mouth flickers into a smile
That means It's possible for me to use this energy as a weapo-
I feel a, sharp searing pain through my stomach and back, my knees buckle as I feel the object lodged inside of me get pushed out slightly
Looking down, I’m unable to see exactly what was causing the pain
Forming mana into my horn, I use the small spark of the light spell to get an image of what killed me
“An I-iron sword…?” I mumble, before the blade disintegrates into blue mist
Ah
I see
Using… something, I'm not sure what, Nightmare Moon scared away the rest of the group, before killing me within this area where magic doesn't work, in hopes of destroying whatever spell revived me when I fell off the cliff and permanently killing me
I’m flattered that she thinks of me as the biggest threat though…
I fell right for the trap
“F-fuck you” I mumble at the blue mist before collapsing onto the ground, seeing it fly away at immense speeds

Standing before the five stones, each with a gemstone engraved upon their surface I swallowed the saliva that was building up in my mouth
“The Elements of Harmony…” I mumble to myself as a nervous sweat drop makes its mark on my forehead
“Come on now y’all, she needs to concentrate” I heard Applejack say behind me as I began to flow mana into my horn, putting in all my focus into trying to dispel whatever was hiding the true form of the Elements
The trotting of hooves became quieter as I closed my eyes and continued
I heard a rattling, that of stones as wind begins to blow in my face
I think it's working…? But I haven't even made a dent in the dispelling of whatever was keeping the Elements from me
In confusion, I open my eyes and step back, a gasp escaping my lips as I stare at a dark mist making a cyclone that carried…
“The Elements!”
I let out a yelp as I get up and dash into it, and feel my body shift through space
Teleportation magic!
I let out a cough as dust enters my lungs from the long abandoned castle
I look forwards and my eyes widen at the sight of Nightmare Moon, the Stone Elements floating around her
She let out a chuckle as I take a deep breath and lower my stance
Scraping my hoof across the ground as I stare at Nightmare
“...You’re kidding…” She said in an almost disappointed manor
“You’re kidding, right?” She was slightly confused at my gesture, after all, who would charge straight into the Empress of Night for a head on duel willingly?
My horn begins to glow as I ready a Teleportation spell, multitasking by sprinting full speed as I do so
Nightmare Moon smirks, before deciding to entertain herself by going along with what I had planned. A twisted smile on her face as she sprinted back at me in return
My horn glows even brighter as I stall the spell to activate at the most opportune moment
1 second
2 seconds
3 seconds
These three seconds felt like centuries as I nearly had a heart attack at the sight of Nightmare Moon’s face close up
NOW!
Mere moments before collision, the spell activated, teleporting me directly to elements
“Uhh…” I moan at the headache I had, multitasking like that was something that almost fried my brain… “Just one spark…”
A nervous smile adorned my face as I focus on the elements yet again, I manage to quickly dispel the enchantment on the Elements through brute force, as they light up with mana
Before I could finish the spell, I see a flash of blue as I get launched backwards, my back scrapes against the ground as I yelp in pain
“No…” I hear Nightmare Moon exclaim “NO!”
My expression hardens and I smile as the stones begin to float, a purple aura enveloping them
Before they drop down to the floor with a clink
“B-but, where's the Sixth Element!”
I hear cackling as I drop to the floor
I was wrong
It was just… a myth
Am I going to die here?
All because I trusted some stupid book?
I hear a crash as I flinch and look at the stones now shattered on the ground
Tears well up in my eyes as I try and choke back a sob
“You little Foal… thinking you could defeat ME! Now you will never see your Princess” she says, lightning striking around her as her mane of mist flares up “Or your SUN!”
“The Night… will last… FOREVER-” I hear hoofsteps, looking behind me, the voices of my friends could be heard as they called out in reassurance
But what was even louder
Was the shattering on glass windows
And the ear piercing scream that came with it
“SHUT UP-!”
a voice I could recognise anywhere
“DEMI?!”
I woke up in a weird state
Sitting up, I hear the crackling of sticks tapping against each other
Looking down, my eyes had now fully adjusted to the darkness, and I saw the body of a timberwolf, the muzzle part completely removed, as if it had been erased
“Well, that’s a first” normally when I die, I regenerate near instantly, and awaken near instantly as well, but this time I was dead long enough for an animal to come over and feast upon my insides
Now, the reason why currently, it was dead, was because anything interfering with the body’s regeneration after dying, such as an object impaling my stomach, will be erased
Seems the unlucky animal died when I regenerated
Patting my satchel, I manage to pull out a cigarette, placing it in my mouth and lighting it with a magic spark that I brute forced out of my horn
Taking a puff, I stretch my weary bones and yawn
Well, it seems this magic disruption thing slowed down my revival
Summoning Icarus, I move him above the canopy yet again, as he had probably been unsummoned when I died
Covering my eyes with my hooves, I focused on Icarus, synchronising my sight with his
Looking at the moon, I think back to when I first entered the dark part of the forest
Approximately…an hour? No, maybe two?
That was a really long time… but it seems I haven't missed the action just yet
This is valuable information though
Places where magic can't be used easily slows down my regeneration
Standing up, I stretch and crack the bones in my body, as Icarus flies down and grabs me around the chest, under the fore/front legs
He flew upwards, before locating the castle of the two sisters quite easily, and zooming over at immense speeds
I see a flash of light from the tallest spire
“Guess that's where we’re heading” I mumble to Icarus as I take another puff of the cigarette in my mouth
My horn flashes with light as I prepare a spell
There are millions of spells a Unicorn can use
You see Magic IS Math
And because Magic is Maths, its split into two sub-groups
Applied Thaumaturgy and Pure Thaumaturgy
You can think of it like the difference between Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematic
It's hard to explain so I’m gonna do a major simplification
Maths is like a language
And Mathematics as a subject is like linguistics
There are various branches in maths
So Applied wants to study Linguistics as a whole, so they can become a spanish translator
Whilst Pure Mathematics wants to study Linguistics so that they can make up their own language
If we get out of this convoluted metaphor, Applied Thaumaturgy studies all the branches of Magic so they can use all the branches of magic, maybe creating a few spells within that area, whilst Pure Thaumaturgy Studies all the branches of magic to make up new magic
However Pure Thaumaturgy is seen as lesser since the Magic they study is basically all theoretical and unachievable, or achievable but very inefficient
However the best Magicians are good at one and half decent at the other
Take for example, the theory of Muscle Magic, formulated by Clover The Clever, a famous Applied Thaumaturgist who studied Pure as a pastime
It's a theoretical branch of Physical Enhancement Magic, that instead of enhancing physical strength with magic, it creates new muscles made of magic within the body that overlap and enhance the strength much better than Physical Enhancement
It’s a very simple magic that can be used easily by even a foal
However, it’s recognised as Theory due to its drawbacks. The Magic Muscles are so strong that it literally breaks the bones in your body to pieces
That doesn't really affect me though
I hear maniacal laughter from inside the castle that I was quickly approaching
Oh my fucking god, is Nightmare Moon…

Crashing through the window, I let out an ear piercing scream

The sharp pain of the glass puncturing my skin was quickly drowned out by adrenaline, I shot a glare to Nightmare Moon
“Kill Her, Icarus” I dashed forwards with Icarus as he outsped me and slashed at NM, as she jumped back, her eyes widening in response to the request
IBM’s can only be seen by Non-Ajin’s under the threat of death, or when the IBM is aiming to kill
But that dodge lead her straight to me
I charged the shit out of an uppercut, imbued with Limb Strengthening magic
I felt my forehoof shatter, yet I gritted through the pain and used my magic to lift up a beer bottle from my bag, smashing it against the ground and taking advantage of the recoiling Nightmare Moon by launching the sharp edge of the bottle into her neck
I take a deep breath and begin doing the only thing I can
Think
Fighting is a game
A game of time
A fight usually only lasts a minute or two, meaning that when you fight, every single second is worth its weight in diamond
The faster you move, the more you can do in a second, the more a second is worth
Time is given equal to everyone, however that isn't true in a fight
All you need to do, to win any battle, is to give yourself more “Seconds”
That's harder than it sounds like though-
I duck my head to dodge a beam coming from Nightmare Moon's horn, Icarus sprinting animalistically to get another shoddy attack off on her
Whilst Immortality IS a broken ability, it’s as fair as it can be in combat, as it takes two seconds for me to revive myself
And for someone well versed in the art of violence, those two seconds can be used to kill me a hundred times over, or at least incapacitate me
NM dodges back, as I stay where I am and calm my breathing
Well, I guess it's about time I take over
I need to be calm to take control
I close my eyes and my vision quickly synchronises with Icarus
Then my touch
Then my movements
“It’s been a while since I’ve done this” Both me and Icarus said at the same time
The distortion made a really weird effect on my voice
Controlling both bodies at the same time is really fucking hard
But unlucky for NM, i’ve had nothing but time to practise during my time alive
“Whoo… time to Multitask” We mutter, as I try and move my legs to get me to Twilight
I glance at Twi in order to find a path for my body to move
Wait a second…
I recognise that glint in her eyes…
“Twilight… You’ve figured something out haven't you?” My voices mumbled in synchronicity
“I…I think I have… I need you to buy me a little time, Demi” I nod my head and a nervous grin spreads across my face
“How long”
“30-? No, twenty seconds or so?”
“Fuck…”
{BATTLE OF TWENTY SECONDS - BEGIN}
I swallow the saliva stuck in my throat
{1st Second}
Icarus was standing right in front of me, with Nightmare Moon ahead of him a few metres away
{2nd Second}
I make Icarus dash forwards, and I follow
NM does the same and by the-
{3rd Second}
We reach each other
I relinquish control of Icarus in order to get more control over my magic
Bringing the bottle up, I prepare for a stab above Icarus
{4th Second}
Icarus winds the hell out of a slash at NM’s hooves, and she jumps up
{5th Second}
I launch the bottle straight into her neck yet again
{6th Second}
She dematerialised, before reappearing behind me, charging her horn into my back
Icarus moves wing around me to shield the impact
{7th Second}
I buck my hind legs at her, but the strain on my forehoof that had shattered was immense
The pressure caused some of the broken bones inside to jut out
{8th Second}
Icarus moves his wing up, her horn trapped within the IBM flesh, unable to pull out, allowing the perfect stage for me to attack
{9th Second}
I had overestimated my body
The pressure on my broken forehoof was too much, and the attack didn't do much because of my unstable footing(?)
{10th Second}
Nightmare Moon charges a beam swiftly, that blew a hole in the wing big enough for her to let her horn get released
{11th Second}
I recover from the fall and formulate a plan as Icarus buys time for me
I start setting up a spell, multitasking both holding the beer bottle and this new spell in my mind

A Dodge from Nightmare and a counterattack
{13th Second}
Icarus staggers back, and I run under his legs, The broken bottle in my magic, Piercing her throat
{14th Second}
She flinches back and is able to minimise damages, she snarls at me and flaps her wings, ascending into the air
{15th Second}
Icarus grabs onto one of her hooves and tries to slam her into the ground
{16th Second}
I use this opportunity to smash the sharp end of the beer bottle straight into the alicorn s throat
{17th Second}
She dematerialised into mist yet again
{18th Second}
“Gotch’ya!” I yell, as I set up a shield spell at her location, which traps her mist form
A near transparent silver ball made of mana encased her mist form
I use all my mental power to shrink the barrier to stop her from rematerializing into a pony again
{19th Second}
Sweat drips down my furry forehead as I feel my consciousness fading
{20th Second}
20 seconds, on the dot
The force of Nightmare Moon attempting to break out of the shield spell was putting immense strain on both my brain, and mana reserves
Blood runs across my lips from my now bleeding muzzle as I collapse onto the ground, the silvery barrier shattering and spreading thinly, mixing back into the air
It was too much
The combined forces of both Nightmare Moon rebelling against my spell and the stupidly large amounts of pain coursing through my body from the broken forehoof caused me to collapse onto the ground
{21st Second}
My vision blacks out, but I manage to catch a flurry of technicolour light assaulting the form of the Alicorn before me
And I die for the third time today

First time ever writing a battle scene. Not the most proud of it, but I find the formatting of it to work quite well. The dialogue feels sloppy and all around this is a below average chapter (even by my standards) but I wrote it, and so therefore, I'm gonna post it
EDIT: So, I changed the title of this chap, and that's because this chap was ASS. Hella ass. Uber duper ass. I guess I felt rushed and like I should try and pump out the next chapter regardless of quality. I then remembered that I don't give a shit about a schedule because all this story is, is something I can use to improve my writing skill. Which means that if I'm not proud of the final result, I should try again. Currently I'm rewriting this chapter, and I will be deleting this chap and posting the rewritten version whenever I Can
