A Heart of Shining Armor

Sleep-deprived Shining Armor gives his lil' magpie a delightfully shiny set of keys. One day, she'll learn what being a guard means. For now-something out of the metallic bunch has caught her eye-dad's armor looks the best. Shining's armor-is shiny!

A tired father gives his daughter the key to the city - I mean - he mistakenly gives his daughter the key to the royal armory. Somewhere in his sleepy mind, meant to teach her a lesson on what it truly means to become a guard. But without him there, life lessons can wait...Flurry has just hit the jackpot! She was now a zillionaire - her search for pirate treasure bore fruit! The lil' birdie could not hide this ginormous treasure horde in her tiny nest, but her dreams had come true, and her hopes had come to fruition. She was now the richest in all of Ponyland - the bandit now eyes a piece of metal, steel, crystal, bronze, gold, and silver that was recently shined seems increasingly inviting...Oooooh!

That polished set of Armor really seems to be Shining.

Written for the Shining is a Terrible Father Contest; though I had mercy on Shining so he's not that bad of a parent, just a bit silly and absentminded. Read more here!
