My little Dragon Ball: FuyuMori
Ch 21: A Canidae Battle
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Diamond dog general sat upon her cobbled together throne, observing Rarity. She let out a low huff of disgust. Diamond Dogs have never really liked ponies much. They tend to keep their distance from ponies, only really revealing themselves, to foalnap and use the ponies to gather gems for them, or to occasionally feast on the ponies they grab.
“General Barite!” Cried one of the armored Diamond dogs, who rushed up to her and bowed
“Aren’t you meant to be guarding the tunnel entrances?” Barite asked, anger evident in her voice.
“Yes, General Barite. But….”
“But what?!” Barite interrupted.
“Intruders, here.” He said.
General Barite raised and eyebrow.
“Intruders? And you left them to possibly come here to disrupt our operation and save that miserable little pony?” Barite asked.
Rarity flinched at that. She wanted to retort, but was too tired to, having constantly used her gem finding spell. Even if she wasn’t, a muzzle was out on her, keeping her from speaking.
“Intruders, strong. One of them, more strong.” Said the armored dog.
“One of them, stronger? Most of these ponies are much too weak to challenge a Diamond dog. Other than a select few, we Diamond Dogs topple these lowly creatures.” Barite said.
“Stronger one is no pony. Tall monkey creature.”
“A monkey creature? How could some monkey creature possibly be strong enough to handle us? How could those pony intruders, be strong enough to handle us?!” Barite said.
Her face shifted to one of irritation and slight shock seeing a few Diamond Dog Guards running from something. She looked over and saw the group rush in. Fluttershy stood at the head of the group, Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Tree Hugger, and Spike, standing behind her. Rarity saw them and let out a happy throaty groan.
“Rarity!” They all shouted, rushing up to her.
General Barite observed the group. She then threw her head back in a loud cackle.
“These rinky-dink little ponies are the strong intruders you warned me about? A couple ponies and what looks like a small, weak, baby dragon.”
Spike frowned slightly, but stood his ground.
“We’re here to save our friend, Rarity!” Spike shouted.
“Save her? Save her?!” Barite cackled. “And how exactly are you going to..”
Barite stopped short to dodge a blast from Pinkie’s Party Cannon.
“Let’s buckin’ PARTY!!” Pinkie shouted, rapidly firing her Party Cannon.
Pinkie laughed like a madmare, firing her Party Cannon, confetti scattered all over. Twilight, did her best to free Rarity. Rover saw this and growled.
“You won’t take gem pony!” He shouted, lunging at Twilight, ready to strike her down.
Applejack, swiftly rushed up and bucked Rover away. He skipped and skidded along the ground, getting covered in deep cuts and scratches. He wasn’t dead or anything from Applejack’s powerful buck, but he wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon.
“Thanks for the save, Applejack.” Twilight said with a thankful smile.
“No problem Twi.” Applejack said before jumping into a fight, teaming up with Pinkie.
Rainbow dash was fighting, using her speed to her advantage as the Armored Diamond dogs were sluggish and growing more tired with their heavy armor.
“Haha! You schmucks got nothing on the great Rainbow Dash!” Rainbow said with a cocky laugh.
That is, until she whacked over the head by one of the Diamond dog’s shields.
“What they hay!” Rainbow groaned til she zipped away, dodged one of the dogs that reached out to grab her.
Fluttershy, while reluctant, fought as well. Though, she didn’t exactly fight as much as she dodged. Using the dogs against each other. She would make the dogs hit each other as she moved with newfound nimbleness and agility. She moved sorta on instinct, using her senses to guide her. But as she was not yet used to her newfound Thestral senses, she did occasionally get hit or scratched.
“How is bat pony dodging?” One of the dogs said in frustration.
“Bat pony annoying.” Said another.
Spike, wasn’t doing bad. With his smaller size and speed, thanks to the dogs armor slowing them down, he was able to dodge their strikes and deliver quick slashes at the dogs exposed parts. He jumped back, and taking a deep breath, unleashed a breath of fire. The dogs stopped, frozen in fear. Just then, a giant shield slammed down in front of them, blocking the flames.
“A shield?” Spike asked. Then he looked at the shield more closely.
“It’s a scale.” Said Barite as she walked up and picked up the shield. “To be more specific, it’s a dragon’s scale, young drake.”
Spike blanched slightly.
“A dragon’s scale? You fought….”
“Fought and killed a dragon, yes.” Barite said with a cocky grin.
Spike’s heart sank with fear. He had never known any creature to take down a Dragon. Though he didn’t know much about dragons, he did know they were pretty strong. So, to hear that a Diamond Dog somehow bested and killed one? It was terrifying. Barite, sensing Spike’s fear, chuckled and rushed him. Spike, stood their, to scared to move. Just then, he ducked and jumped away. A new burst of determination and anger filled him. He knew he had to be strong if he wanted to make it out of here with his friends. He knew Arctic would fight to protect his friends, so, he decided. He had to fight. If he wanted to make it out, he needed to fight.
Spike took in a breath and spewed fire at Barite. Barite just used her dragon scale shield to block the flames. She shot forward, and with one of the armored Diamond Dogs axes, he swung, ready to strike Spike. Seeing it coming,Spike quickly dodged the incoming blow.
“Decided to be courageous and fight, Huh? I’m impressed. But,” Barite said as she rushed Spike, “in the end, YOU’LL STILL DIE!”
Spike helped at the vicious roar. The roar caught the attention of the others. Twilight’s eyes widened, and in a flash, used telekinesis to pull Spike away. Barite growled and looked over to them.
“Using telekinesis huh? It won’t help you in the end. All of you! Clear out.” Barite barked to the other Diamond Dogs.
The dogs all backed away, knowing Barite was getting serious. They saw her when she was serious many times. It scared them to the bone. Barite, cracking her knuckles prepared herself.
“Alright, girls. Let’s get ready.” Twilight said.
“Think we can beat her?” Rainbow asked.
“No.” Rarity said. “I saw her strength. She’ll beat us.”
Applejack noticed Rarity tremble. It was clear that whatever Rarity saw, terrified her. And hearing that she had brought down and dragon, as well as seeing the other Diamond Dogs fairly fearful expressions? It told her that this Diamond Dog was something to not take lightly.
Barite smiled and shot forward, swinging the axe down. Twilight, thinking quickly, used her magic to teleport the group. Rainbow, ever the brash mare she is, rocketed towards Barite, ready to deliver a kick. Barite, in a swift motion, grabs Rainbow Dash’s leg and tosses her to the ground, slamming her shield down on Rainbow’s stomach hard enough to knock the wind out of her.
“Rainbow!” Applejack yelled.
Reaching into Pinkie’s mane, Applejack pulled out her rope. This made Applejack shudder though, knowing Pinkie seemed to always be Apple to store things in her mane somehow. Anyway, she made a lasso and quickly lassoed Barite. With a tug of her mighty muzzle, swung Barite into the walls and then into Pinkie’s Party Cannon.
“Fire in the hole!” Pinkie shouted as she fired the cannon. However, what Applejack didn’t bank on, was for Barite to hold onto the rope.
Barite, clutching the rope, dragged Applejack with her. As Barite flew, she began to spin her body, swinging Applejack around she finally swing down, slamming Applejack down onto Rainbow. Both of them let out a pained groan. The even coughed out a small splattering of blood.
Rarity, her anger over what the dogs did, their threats, working her to death, and now, harming her friends, let her anger boil over. Triggering her magic, Rarity summoned shining blue spots on the floor. Twilight, seeing this, quickly teleported Applejack and Rainbow to them. Barite looked down at the spots on the ground. Curiosity flowed through her as she looked and saw Rarity was the one who was doing this. Before Barite could do anything, Rarity started her attack.
With a bright, almost blinding, glow, gem shards shot out of the dots on the floor. Barite did her best to block them, but try as she might, she did obtain a few new cuts. Some of which were deep enough to leave her with some new scars once they healed.
After the attack, Rarity collapsed, having used the last of her magic just for that attack.
“Dang dude.” Tree Hugger said in awe. “What was that?”
“I…I don’t know, d…darling.” Rarity stuttered.
“Whatever it was, it was amazing!” Pinkie exclaimed.
Barite brought her arms down and looked over to Rarity.
“Impressive, diamond pony. That actually left some decent cuts. Good job. However, that’s the last bit of damage you’ll ever get on me!” Barite said as she charged towards Rarity.
Tree Hugger jumped in front of her, and with a swift motion, bucked Barite in the stomach before she could reach Rarity. The kick knocked the wind out of Barite, but also sprained Tree Huggers back hooves. Barite, in an effort to get back at Tree Hugger, reached out to grab her. Twilight tapped into her magic and let loose a blast of magic. It nailed Barite and sent her flying. Barite hit the ground with a thud and laid there.
Twilight took in deep breaths.
“Is she down?” Twilight asked.
“Doesn’t looks like she’ll be getting up after that.” Fluttershy said.
“Let’s get Tree Hugger, Rarity, Rainbow, and Applejack and get out of here.” Twilight said as she rushed to Aaplejack and Rainbow.
She was about to pick them up, when Fluttershy cried out to her.
“Twilight! Watch out!”
Twilight looked back and saw Barite standing above her. Before she could do anything, Barite swung her paw and back fisted Twilight in the side, launching her away. Twilight let out a groan and even spat out some blood from the strike.
“Twilight!” Spike exclaimed as he rushed towards her. “Twilight, are you okay?!”
“No use focusing on her, young drake. Better focus,” Barite shot towards Spike with the axe. “ON YOURSELF!” Barite shouted as she brought the axe down. Spike dodged it and jumped away. The axe narrowly missed Twilight as its blade was imbedded in the ground in front of her.
Barite pulled the axe free and walked to Spike, ready to end his life right there. Spike, frantically looked around. Rarity, Tree Hugger, Rainbow, Applejack, and Twilight were down and wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon. He noticed Pinkie and Fluttershy behind Barite. Fluttershy was getting into Pinkie’s Party Cannon, and with the fuse lit, it soon fired.
Barite heard the boom of the cannon and looked back, only to be nailed in the back by Fluttershy.
“RRAAAAAGGGHHHH!” Barite exclaimed, coughing out blood and crashing to the ground.
Fluttershy wasn’t done just yet.
“Take this, you big bully!” Fluutershy’s shouted.
Spike noticed something. Fluttershy’s eyes had changed. They had gone from their usual bluish teal, to a blood red. Even her fangs got sharper and larger, and her coat puffed out slightly. The sight, frightened him.
Fluttershy in a bout of uncharacteristic fury, rapidly began punching Barite in the back. The flurry of punches left deep dents in Barite’s back. Fluttershy let out a blood curdling, pained, and furious scream. Fluttershy kept wailing on Barite, until Barite managed to reach a paw back and grab Barite’s hoof.
Fluttershy stopped, shocked her attack had been caught. Her eyes turned back to normal as Barite, slowly stood up.
“I’ve had enough of you.” Barite said coolly.
In a swift motion, Barite slammed Fluttershy down and tossed her straight into Pinkie Pie, sending them both crashing into the wall. Spike stumbled some, but decided to attack. If Fluttershy could attack, he could too. Plus, he knew Arctic wouldn’t just sit back and watch. Thinking fast, Spike spotted the axe. Barite had dropped it after Fluttershy slammed into her after being shot out of the Party Cannon.
Rushing for it, Spike grabbed it, and with all his might, swung it, nailing Barite square in the back. He made sure to hit directly where Fluttershy had been hitting.
Barite let out a pained roar as she quickly kicked her leg back, nailing Spike in the stomach. She got Spike on his back and stepped on his face.
“I’ve beaten fully grown adult dragons before! What makes you think I can’t handle a baby?!” Barite exclaimed, until she jumped back holding the paw that was on Spike’s face in pain.
Spike had let loose a burst of flames, burning Barite’s paw. Barite was about to attack Spike again, a loud roar soaring out of her throat as she readied herself to attack and kill Spike. However, in her anger, she left herself open. Spike, opening his mouth let out a blast of fire in Barite’s face as he ran away, rushing to the girls to try and wake them up so they can go.
Barite saw this and rushed to Spike.
“Get back here!”
Spike jumped and rushed to Pinkie’s Party Cannon. Tossing a bunch of gems in the barrel, he lit the fuse. Once it went off, gems flew at Barite, pelting her all over. Some even deepened the cuts she got from Rarity.
Barite stumbled back.
“How….how, DARE YOU!” Barite exclaimed as he rushed Spike with a spear she snatched from one of the armored Diamond Dogs.
She was about to impale Spike right there, until she noticed all the other Diamond Dogs on the floor. Next she knew, a sharp pain shot through her. Looking down, she saw a creature she had never seen before. Its foot was buried deep in her stomach as it held the dragon in its arms. It was Arctic.
“Arctic!” Spike exclaimed as he hugged Arctic tight. “What took you so long? Where’ve you been.”
“Sorry about that Spike. I would’ve been here sooner, but i decided to take out all the other Diamond Dogs before getting here. What happened to the girls.” Arctic asked.
“She took them out.” Spike said pointing to Barite.
Barite looked at Arctic and Spike with a scowl as blood oozed out of her mouth and nose..
Arctic set Spike down.
“Get back Spike.”
Spike nodded and rushed back.
“I’ve beaten many creatures. What makes you think I can’t beat you?” Barite asked.
Arctic didn’t bother answering as he got into a fighting stance.
“Not a talker, huh. Very well. Let’s get this over with. Your head will make a nice addition to my collection.” Barite said as she too, got into a fighting stance, ready to go up against Arctic.
