Chapter 1: Cut off

Hi, my name is Blake Winters and I've just turned 18, now I know what your thinking, what could this kid possibly have to do with colorful talking anthro ponies, well let me tell you, It's a long story and it starts like this. There I was 17 years old just a few months ago having the time of my life with my friends, not giving a damn in the world because my old man is a rich mercenary feared around the world by everyone, from Putin to Biden as the Dragon of War, they all know to fear the name Marcus Winters because he's a monster in human form, 7 foot tall and built like a tank my old man is a sight to see, if your not afraid of nightmares. Anyway enough about that dickhead, It was an normal day for me, the year was 2023, I got up had a shower got dressed played Fallout 4 for a while but when I went to go out my old man showed up in his usual black ankle length trench coat. "There you are, you little shit stain." My father said.

"Oh uh, hi dad, long time no see." I said feeling like a child next to my father, with the height difference and all, I'm only five foot ten.

"Shut up you little piss ant, I have something to tell you." My father said looking down at me.

"What is it dad?" I asked.

"I'm cutting you off when you turn 18." My dad said.

"What?" I asked.

"You heard me, I'm cutting you off when the government says your a man." My father said with a straight face.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because, your too soft, and I don't like that." My father answered.

"What that's no reason to cut me off." I said and my father struck me with the back of his forearm knocking me to the ground.

"Listen hear you little shit, I'm your father and my word is final, so fish or cut bait the choice is yours." My father said and then left, I stayed on the ground for a while thinking about what he said, but the more I thought about it the more I realized he just wanted me gone, one less thing to think about, at least my cousin Rogue in the UK has it better, right?

Anyway there I was left alone and finding out my old man planned on cutting me off, I didn't know what to do and my emotions were all over the place, after a while I calmed down and went out for a walk to get my thoughts together about what I was going to do and while I was out I bumped into an old friend who I hadn't seen since she came out as a Brony. "Blake, is that you?" she asked.

"Yeah, it's me Jade." I answered my mind somewhere else at the time.

"It's been ages, how have you been?" Jade asked.

"Oh, you know good and all." I said or something like that.

"Hey, are you ok?" Jade asked.

I thought about answering for a long while before I finally did. "No I'm not good, I just found out my old man is going to cut me off because he thinks I'm soft." I confessed.

"Oh no, that's awful, if you need to you can crash at my place." Jade said with genuine kindness.

"Thanks, for some reason I don't think my old man is messing with me this time." I said and she hugged me, I didn't expect it but I returned it all the same and let go before it got weird.

Jade looked at me and then reached into her pocket, and put something in my hand. "Here, I want you to have this, I was told that on a full moon something incredible will happen if your holding it." She said giving me a rainbow colored crystal.

"You know this is probably fake right?" I ask with a smirk.

"I know, but a little faith goes along way." Jade said with a smile, and the funny thing was I believed her.

I smiled. "Thanks Jade." I said and she kissed me on the lips before leaving me standing there speechless as she got on a bus to go where ever it is she works, I honestly don't know, we lost touch after school, but if that kiss was anything to go by she's had a crush on me for a while. After that I went home and looked at the crystal Jade gave me, and I noticed it really was crystal and not resin like I first thought, as I was looking at it the crystal started to glow brighter and brighter until it blinded me and I passed out for who knows how long. when I finally came to I was in a forest of some kind and I thought I was dreaming, my mistake, as I looked around my hand got scratched by some thorns drawing blood and that's when I realized that I wasn't dreaming, I was awake some where I didn't recognize. "Ok Jade, good joke, Come on out." I said and waited for Jade to show up, but she never did. "Jade?" I asked. "This isn't funny, you know my dad will hurt you badly while I'm still under age... right?" I asked losing some hope. After I got no response I looked up at the sun and tracked it's position like my old man showed me on one of the few occasions when he actually had taken an interest in my life and I determined that it was a good idea to go west. "Boy was I wrong." I kept going in that direction until I left the forest which I would later learn was called the Everfree forest and apparently it's very "dangerous" but I never had a problem with it, so far anyway.

After reaching the edge of the forest I took a brake in the shade of a tree at the edge of the tree line until my legs stopped hurting from all the walking I'd done, when my legs stopped hurting I got up and kept walking in the same direction, eventually I spotted a town in the distance. "If only I knew the chaos that would ensue then, I wouldn't have bothered." I walked towards the town not knowing what awaited me, as I grew closer I saw some people, but they didn't look right, their faces were too long and when I got closer I realized that I wasn't seeing things, these people weren't people they looked like the anthro animals that furrys make art of but they were all colorful ponies as I stopped and looked at them and they started going in their homes and locking the door as well as drawing the curtains, my father would laugh at this kind of behavior but it concerned me greatly and I was right because I then heard a woman shouting at me from behind.

"Hey you, get out'a here you monster." A tomboyish voice said and before I could turn around I heard the flapping of wings and I was kicked in the back and got knocked to the ground, I picked myself up and turned to face a cyan furred female pony with wings and rainbow hair and tail wearing a white vest and black sports shorts with a sleeveless light blue hoodie she also had white sneakers.

"What the fuck is your problem!" I shouted at her and she tried to punch me but i dodged and grabbed her by the wrist turned on the spot and flipped her over my shoulder slamming her on the ground hard and she screamed as she rolled away, apparently I must have hurt her wings with that stunt and I was about to apologies but I was hit by a blast of shimmering blue energy in my left shoulder which knocked me off my feet and sent me spinning back nearly twenty feet only stopping when I hit a wall, it was the worst pain I'd ever felt up to that point it was even worse than the ass kicking I got from my dad when he trained me to fight a few years ago. I slowly got up feeling like my back had almost been broken by the hit, as I got up I looked at my shoulder and it had been torn open in a nasty gash that burned like fire and was bleeding heavily with blood rushing down my arm, I then looked at the light blue pony that had attacked and saw another helping her up this one was had white fur and with a fancy hair and tail style and she was wearing a red dress top with a black belt, black slim fit trousers and black high heels. To be honest it wasn't a bad look and I'm not going to lie she made it look damn good and that's when I noticed the cone shaped horn growing out of her forehead that was glowing the same color as the energy that hit me and I put two and two together.

"Rainbow are you alright?" The white one asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, that thing just caught me off guard is all." The rainbow haired one said who's name is apparently Rainbow go figure.

"HEY, who are you calling a thing, you attacked me first." I shouted as I felt my blood run down my left arm, and the two looked at me as if I'd grown an extra head.

"Did... did that thing just talk?" The white one asked looking shocked, I was about to respond to being called a "thing" again but before I got the chance to speak a rope landed around me and was pulled tight and I was dragged off my feet and on to my back only just avoiding hitting my head on the ground.

"What the fuck." I said as I was dragged back.

"Get out'a here you varmint." another female voice said with a heavy southern accent said before i was tossed towards the edge of the town and I caught sight of mare with orange fur and blond hair and tail wearing a red check shirt, light blue denim jeans with cowboy boot's and hat and she was freakishly strong able to throw me around on the end of the rope like it was nothing, I slammed into the ground hard again and and it hurt worse than last time and I heard something snap followed by unimaginable pain coming from my right side around the back, and I knew something had just broken as I got the rope off me and got back to my feet quickly running away back to the forest leaving a blood trail as the three chased me off from the town.

A few hours later.

After getting beaten up and chased off from the town I'd ran back into the forest like a cowered and I could hear my father's voice mocking me from the back of my mind. "That's right run away Blake, that's all a cowered like you is good for, because your soft and weak." Over and over again the voice of my father mocked me for my weakness, as I ran deeper into the forest I found an old castle that had fallen into ruin and took cover in side so I could rest up and give my wounds a chance to heal.

"Damn those fucking things, I could have been killed back there." I said wincing as I used a somewhat clean piece of cloth and bronze bowl filled with clear water to clean the wound on my shoulder as best I could without reopening the wound as well as clean the dried blood off my chest and arm. After that I tucked myself away into a dry corner and tried to rest up for a while.

Twilight's P.O.V

I was walking towards Sugar Cube Corner to speak with some of my friends about some monster that walked into Ponyville this morning and hurt Rainbow Dash, I didn't know what exactly had happened because me and Spike were reorganizing the library after we had a delivery of rare books from Canterlot that I requested Princess Celestia to send for so I could continue my studies. As I walked through town I saw Lyra looking around and taking some blood samples from the ground. "Lyra, what are you doing?" I asked as I stopped to watch what Lyra was doing.

Lyra turned around to face me with a wide smile. "Twilight, have you heard, a real life human was here in Ponyville this morning." Lyra said excitedly.

I raise an eyebrow at this news. "Really Lyra, I thought you were over with your human obsession." I said crossing my arms.

"I was, until I saw one walk into town this morning only for that show off friend of yours to attack him followed by Rarity and Applejack, it looked like they hurt him badly too." Lyra said as she stored the blood she'd collected in in a cooler bag.

"What, Rarity actually attacked somepony?" I asked shocked that she would do something like that.

"Yeah I know, she's the last pony I would expect to attack anypony." Lyra said as she packed her equipment away.

"Right, I need to get going." I said as I kept walking and arrived at Sugar Cube Corner shortly after and found the rest of my friends sitting at a big table in the corner and I walked over to them. "Hi girls, I heard you guys dealt with some kind of monster this morning." I said as I took a seat next to Fluttershy.

"Yes we did, it was weird looking and seemed furrless except for the top of it's head, thank Celestia it was wearing clothes." Rarity said as she took a sip of her strawberry milkshake.

"Yeah, you should have seen it Twi, it was like no critter I've ever seen." Applejack said leaning back in her chair.

"D.. did it hurt anypony?" Fluttershy asked.

"Uh, not really, I just kinda saw him and saw every pony running from him and thought he'd done something." Rainbow said sheepishly.

"Hold up Dashy, You attacked him for no reason?" Pinkie asked looking at Rainbow and so did every pony else.

"Well I thought he did something." Rainbow said defensively.

"Rainbow, you thought is not a reason to attack somepony." I said reprimanding Rainbow for jumping to conclusions.

Rarity looked a little nervous. "So, your saying I used a potentially lethal spell over a misunderstanding?" she asked glaring daggers at Rainbow.

"Enough, I think it's clear that Rainbow jumped the gun here, and somepony innocent was hurt as a result." Fluttershy said speaking up and the others all had looks on their faces that showed regret.

"Fluttershy is right, somepony innocent was hurt, we have to make this right and find them and help them." I said standing up . "Who's with me?" I asked.

"I think its fair to say we have to make this right, don't we girls." AJ asked and got resounding "Yeah." from every pony.

"Ok, let's go find it, if we follow the blood trail from it's wound we should find him quickly." I said as we left Sugar Cube Corner and followed the blood trail into the Everfree.

Chapter 2: Dragonbane The Sword That Fell Form The Sky.

Blake's P.O.V

I woke up suddenly still out of the way in the corner I'd tucked myself away in, the pain in my shoulder was a dull throb and the pain in my side wasn't as bad either, I was about to doze back to sleep when I heard female voices calling. "Hello, please come out, we don't want to hurt you." One voice said and I got up and walked over to the window, I was on the ground floor so I could make a quick escape if I had to. With out hesitation I opened an old window all the way despite the noise it made and climbed out being careful not to reopen the wound on my shoulder or aggravate my potentially broken bone.

Once I was outside I cautiously walked around to the front of the castle and the rope bridge, seeing that the coast was clear I made a move, but unfortunately my timing was way off because when I got to the other side of the rope bridge I heard gasps from behind me, rather than looking back I ran into the forest as fast as I could quickly getting out of sight.

Running through trees and bushes as fast as I could with my injuries I could here my pursuers close behind me, they were maybe only twenty feet behind when I heard a sudden "ROOOAAARRR!!!" Behind me followed by screaming female voices and I kept running for a few seconds before hearing two more roars, I thought about leaving and saving my own skin but I could hear my father's voice in my head again. "That's right, the weak die and the strongest survives, that's the rule of nature." I looked back feeling sick at the thought of my father being right.

"Not today, fuck the rules of nature." I said picking up a rock and ran back towards the screaming voices, I came through a bush and saw three big lion like monsters surrounding a group of the ponies I'd seen back at the town. I recognized the white, blue and orange one's but not the pink one who was wearing a blue and white striped vest with light blue jeans and pink sneakers, the yellow one with wings who was wearing a thick green sweater and a long pink skirt with flat shoes and purple one with a horn wearing a blue vest and dark blue jeans with black sneakers, and then I did the dumbest thing I've ever done in my short life so far, I threw the rock at the nearest lion monster right in the head and shouted. "COME AND HAVE A GO IF YOU THINK YOUR HARD ENOUGH!" I then ran as fast as I could, and like any good predators the monsters went after the easier kill, me.

I ran like my life depended on it because it did, I ran through bushes trees even a stream but the monsters wouldn't stop following me and they were closing in, I needed to find cover to escape but I didn't see any, so I kept running even as my legs burned like I'd ran a marathon and I reopened the wound on my shoulder from how much I ran and it started bleeding again. As I ran I tripped and fell down a banking rolling as I fell, when I hit the bottom I was on my back looking up at the sky and I saw the three monsters closing in on me, I got back up looking for a away out but there wasn't one and I ended up getting backed up to a rock wall that rose up nearly fifty feet. "Shit, end of the line." I said as one of the monsters got closer licking it's fangs as it stalked closer.

I thought I was done but then a crack shattered open in the sky and a sword like none I'd ever seen before fell through as if it had been thrown and fell to the ground stabbing blade first into a large rock between me and the monsters startling them back a little as the six I tried to save appeared at the top of the banking behind the monsters getting the attention of the beasts for just long enough for me to run to the sword and pull it from the rock with my right hand, as soon as I pulled the sword free blue marks started glowing up the sides of the blade and then I felt a burning pain up my right arm as the same marks started appearing on my arm going from my wrist to my shoulder.

The free monsters looked back at me and the nearest one pounced at me and I froze but my body moved as if guided by something else as I stepped back into a 360 spin and used my momentum to cut the head off the first monster, I looked at the sword in my hand and seeing the marks on the sword still glowing blue as well as the marks on my right arm, as I was looking at my arm another of the monsters attacked, I dodged back nearly ten feet and swung the sword at the monster releasing a wave of blue energy that cut it in half.

The remaining monster looked at the two dead ones then to me, then the six, it then snarled and growled and spread the wings on it's back and flew away leaving me and the six as it retreated. I then look at the six and saw them coming towards me and I raised the sword at them, I no longer felt like I was being guided but better safe than sorry right. "That's close enough." I said as the six stopped and looking at me.

"Please lower the sword, we just want to talk." The purple one said taking a step closer.

"I said that's close enough, I don't want to hurt you but I will if you get closer." I bluffed, I knew I wouldn't but they didn't know that, or that I have no idea how to use a sword.

"Ok, we'll stay back, can we ask you some questions?" The purple one asked and I thought about it.

"I'm ok with that, but I have questions of my own." I said not lowering the sword, the purple one smiled a little.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Blake Winters." I answered. "And you?" I asked in return.

The purple one spoke first. "I'm Twilight Sparkle." She said not taking her eyes off me.

The pink one was the next to speak with barely contained excitement. "Hi I'm Pinkie Pie." She said looking ready to run up and hug me. And I was thankful that I had a sword keeping her at bay.

The orange cowboy wannabe introduced herself next. "The names Applejack partner." She said in a thick southern accent. "And I'm sorry about what I did earlier." She added.

"I should hope so, you could have broken more than one bone." I said glaring at her.

After the cowboy the fashionable white one spoke next. "I would also like to apologies for earlier, I'm Rarity." She said looking very ashamed of herself.

"Fuck off, you could have killed me, and you can bet your ass as soon as I find out who to talk to I'm pressing charges." I said pointing my sword at Rarity who I will be calling The White Bitch from now on and she looked like she dropped a log at what I said.

And then the rainbow haired one that started this misunderstanding in the first place spoke. "I'm Rainbow Dash, and I'm sorry for assuming you were some kind of monster." She said looking away, clearly embarrassed.

"To be fair I don't have a problem with getting kicked around, as long as it's not my father doing it, besides you didn't hurt me as bad as those two." I said glaring daggers at The White Bitch and Applejack, which made Rainbow breath a sigh of relief.

And last but not least was the yellow one. "I'm Fluttershy." she said very quietly. But I still only just hear it.

"Ok, now that introductions are over, how old are you, you look about the same age as us?" Twilight asked having pulled a note pad and... A quill and ink pot out of nowhere.

"I'm turning 18 in a few weeks." I said and I caught a few looks I wasn't sure I liked, mostly a mix of regret and interest.
It was my turn to ask again, so I decided to find out for certain what these anthros were. "What are you, I've never seen your kind before?" I asked feeling that I had asked a good question.

"We're Ponies, more specifically Unicorns, Pegusie and Earth Ponies." Twilight explained. "Well, now that I think about it there are Bat Ponies as well, but they only just got rediscovered." She added. "What about you, your clearly not a Pony?" She asked taking notes or maybe making a sketch, I really don't know.

"I'm a Human from planet Earth." I answered and felt a bit of pride as I silently realized I was making first contact with an alien race. As soon as I looked at Twilight she had a huge smile on her face and it was creeping me out while the others just looked at me wide eyed.

"This is wonderful, your the first of your kind in Equestria." Twilight said rushing up to me with stars in her eyes like an anime character even though I hadn't lowered my sword.

I jumped back and pointed my sword at Twilight. "Hey, I said keep your distance." I said having been startled by Twilight's sudden move closer.

"Sorry, I got a little too excited for a moment, it's just Humans were thought to be a myth." Twilight said as her cheeks went red embarrassment as she took a few steps back.

Pinkie then popped up next to Twilight seemingly out of nowhere and asked. "Do you like cake, how about parties?" She asked with a wide smile.

"Yeah I guess, as long as there no kids around." I answered not completely sure why she wanted to know. Pinkie's smile got even bigger when she heard my answer and was now looking like she was going to explode with excitement, but before anyone could ask anything else we heard the roar of another monster and it sounded a lot bigger than the lion monsters I'd killed a few minutes ago.

"What the hell was that?" I asked as I turned to face the direction that the roar had come from.

"I'm not sure what that was, but we should get back to Ponyvaille before it finds us." Twilight said and she got nods of agreement from the others and they started walking away, Twilight then looked back and when she saw that I wasn't following she asked. "Aren't you coming?"

I gave her my best poker face as I stayed where I was standing. "Why would I, the last time I was at that town I was attacked just for existing." I said and I could see Applejack, Rainbow and The White Bitch visibly cringe.

"Even though you have a sword, there are monsters and poisons plants everywhere in here." Twilight said as the monster roared again sounding closer. As much as I didn't like it she had a point about this forest, but I still didn't trust them, that being said I was still more inclined to trust Twilight, Pinkie and Fluttershy than the other three, the monster roared and we heard the sound of trees breaking and I didn't want to find out what was coming.

"Fine, I'll come back with you, but that doesn't mean I trust any of you." I said following Twilight and the others.

"Don't worry, nothing bad is going to happen to you." Pinkie said walking on my left.

"I'll be the judge of that." I said not letting my guard down even as I lowered my sword. "Now if only I had a scabbard for this sword." I said and the marks on my arm and the sword lit up as a scabbard on a belt attached to my back with the belt across my chest. "That works." I said taking four tries before finally getting the sword in to the scabbard as the girls look at me with a look that said, how the fuck did he just do that.

"Wow, the marks on your arm just glowed." Pinkie said wide eyed

"Come on girls we can talk more back at the library." Twilight said and we all left the forest.

Chapter 3: The Usual Q&A

I followed Twilight and her friends out of the forest to the town, I still don't trust them but I don't really have much of a choice at the moment and besides I would rather deal with these so called Ponies than whatever that monster was back there. As we left the forest we walked back to the town, from what I had gathered by what Twilight had said earlier the town is called Ponyville, honestly they might as well have called it pony town, as we entered the town Fluttershy spoke up and asked. "Uh... do you like animals Blake?" she asked and instantly looked away when I looked at her.

"Yeah, I like animals." I said as the yellow mare tried hiding behind her main. "Well as long as their not trying to kill me." I added looking away from the shy mare.

"Oh, that's good, I take care of sick animals at my cottage on the edge of town." Fluttershy said speaking at a normal volume now.

I looked at her again as we approached the town. "So, your some kind of vet then?" I asked looking at the mare who was only a few inches shorter than me.

"I guess you could say that, I just take care of the sick and wounded animals in the area, but some ponies do pay me to treat their pets." Fluttershy answered getting more confident as she spoke about her animal friends.

"So, what do ya do for work Blake?" Applejack asked looking back at me and I thought about answering with an insult but decided against it

"... for now anyway I am, or rather I was a student of Robotics in university." I answered and Twilight looked at me with a curious look.

"Robotics? Is that some kind of science?" Twilight asked looking at me with more interest than before.

"Yeah it is I guess, but it's mostly just an advanced form of engineering." I explain, dumbing it down so they could understand.

"So your an egghead like Twilight?" Rainbow asked as we passed a group of ponies in the street, surprisingly I didn't feel the need to hide my face as we walked through the town, I guess it must have been because I was talking with Twilight and the others as if they were human and it made me feel more comfortable.

"What's wrong with being smart?" I asked as Rainbow flew just ahead of me and made sure to stay out of my reach, she must have thought I'd pull her out of the sky again in another shoulder flip. "Nothing , if you haven't got your head in a book all day." Rainbow said and I caught Twilight giving her an annoyed look.

Pinkie then hopped in front of me with a smile. "Do you have any family?" She asked walking backwards to talk with me.

"Yeah, my mother and father... I also have a cousin, but I've never met him." I answered as we passed a house that looked like a giant gingerbread house and I had to do a double take looking back at the house a few times as we walked past.

"What is your mother like?" The White Bitch asked, and I ignored her as if she didn't exist, and then I noticed the pain in my shoulder and rib were gone, so I raised a hand to check the wound on my shoulder and found a fresh scar.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" I shouted suddenly making the six jump.

"What is it?" Twilight asked looking concerned.

"My wounds have healed." I said pulling the neck hole on my t-shirt open to look at my left shoulder seeing the fresh scar.

"How? those wounds aren't even ten hours old." Twilight asked as I pulled the neck hole open and she saw the scar on my shoulder.

"Maybe the sword is giving you powers, like when you used that energy wave in the Everfree." Pinkie suggested.

"This is going to need further study." Twilight said taking another note.

I backed away from Twilight and grabbed my sword's grip. "I'm no ones lab rat." I said feeling my anger rise at the thought of being experimented on.

Twilight raised her hands passively. "I didn't mean it like that." she said and I saw the honesty in her eyes and let go of my sword's grip.

I looked at her with contempt. "Fine, but don't push your luck." I said as we kept walking.

"HUMAN!!!" a female voice shouted, and we all looked down the street.

"What the hell." I said.

"Don't tell me she's coming." Rainbow said.

"I think she is." Applejack said rotating her shoulders as if she was going to fight someone.

"Oh Celestia, it's the last Pony we need right now." Pinkie said taking a fighting stance with AJ.

"Dare I even ask." I said looking at the way Twilight and her friends were getting ready for a fight.

"It's Lyra." Fluttershy said joining Rainbow in the air.

"Who?" I ask.

"Lyra Heartstrings, she's obsessed with Humans darling." The White Bitch said as energy covered her horn.

"Dodge right." A rumbling voice said, and I followed it's instruction as a mint green pony mare wearing a matching green hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers missed hitting me and rolled back to her feet looking right at me with a yandere look on her face.

"I knew it, humans are real." Lyra said taking a step closer.

"If you don't want to get raped in the street draw me now." the voice said again and I drew the sword from my back and I raised it at this Lyra pony.

"Don't be like that human, I just want your human babies." Lyra said as love hearts came in her eyes.

"Lyra stop, this isn't how a mare should behave in public." Twilight said getting between me and Lyra.

"Twilight, I should have known you would try and take my special somepony." Lyra said looking like she was going crazy.

"Special what now." I said not quite understanding what was going on.

"Come on human, just come to me." Lyra said jumping at me but I jumped back and raised my sword at Lyra.

"You stay away from me." I said not flinching as she tried lunging at me only to get the blade of my sword right up against her throat at which point she snapped out of her crazy.

"Ok, ok I'm sorry, pleas don't hurt me." Lyra said cowering.

"You'd better be." I said removing my sword from Lyra's throat but I still pointing it at her as she got up. "You leave me alone from now on." I said as I watched her walk away reluctantly.

"Just you wait, you'll be all mine eventually." Lyra said giving me the yandere look again as she walked away. Once she was gone I put my sword back in it's scabbard on the first try this time and looked at Twilight and the others who were giving me a mix of looks.

"What?" I asked looking at the six.

"Nothing, I just think you handled that well." Twilight said looking at me with a slight blush, I think she was blushing anyway, it's a little hard to tell with her purple fur and all.

A few minuets later at the Golden Oaks Library

I sat in an arm chair in the library that Twilight lived in with The White Bitch, pinkie and Twilight on a couch to my left and on my right Fluttershy, Rainbow and Applejack on a couch with a coffee table between us with my sword resting on the table in it's scabbard. "So, what's your world like compared to Equestria?" Twilight asked taking more notes.

"Hard to say without seeing the technology here." I answered.

"That's a fair point." Twilight said looking at me with a small smile.

"I have a question." Rainbow said raising a hand.

"Shoot Dash." I said and she blushed a little.

"What kind of sports are popular on your world?" She asked as her wings and ears twitched slightly.

"Well that depends on what part of the world your from, by the most popular but far wouldn't have to be Football also called Soccer in America." I answer.

"Fair enough." Rainbow said crossing her arms as she leaned back.

"And what is the fashion like on your world?" The White Bitch asked but I didn't answer, was it petty, yes, but the look on her face was priceless.

"What is your kinds greatest achievement?" Twilight asked.

I thought about that for a long while before answering. "We put people on the moon." I answered with a shrug and the girls all gasped at the mention of putting a man on the moon..

"Your kind went to the moon?" Twilight asked wide eyed.

"Yeah, that was about 55 years ago I think, don't quote me on that." I said not too sure how long ago Apollo 11 set down on the moon.

"What kind of sweets and cakes have your kind made?" Pinkie asked with a very wide smile.

"Uh, I'm not sure sorry, I'm not a baker." I said sheepishly scratching the back of my head.

"Oh that's a shame, I was looking forward to baking treats with you." Pinkie said looking a little sad.

"Well, I could always learn." I said trying to make Pinkie feel better.

"Really?" Pinkie asked getting really exited and in my face.

"Yeah, when I get the time." I said hoping it would get her off me.

"Pinkie promise?" Pinkie asked.

"What?" I asked.

"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!" Pinkie said.

"Uh...." I say unsure of the insanity i just heard.

"Say it." Pinkie said as her main and tail went strait as her color faded slightly and I felt like my life was in danger.

"Do what she says." the voice from before said.

"Ok, cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." I said and Pinkie backed off and smiled at me.

"I'll hold you to that." Pinkie said.

"Ok, I'll learn how to bake." I said putting my hands up.

"While your at it you should learn how to make apple Pie with me." AJ said with a cocky smirk.

"Fine, I might as well at this point." I said as AJ smiled at me.

"If you don't mind me asking, are you single." The White Bitch asked and I noticed the looks the other five were giving me.

"Yeah I'm single, why?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, no reason." The White Bitch said with a blush and the others also blushed and I had a sudden realization about why they were blushing.

"So, elements of harmony, those are interesting." I said trying to change the topic.

"Yes they are, Princess Celestia currently has them in the Canterlot vault." Twilight said with enthusiasm.

"Princess who?" I asked and the girls looked like i'd just slapped them.

"You don't know who Princess Celestia is?" The six asked in unison.

"Why would I, I'm an alien technically." I said crossing my arms.

"Twilight I'm back a young boy called out as the door was opened and closed and I found myself looking at a purple lizard with a tan underside wearing a light grey t-shirt with tan shorts and no shoes due to his scales and clawed feet.

"What the hell is that?" Me and the lizard said at the same time.

"Spike this is Blake, Blake this is Spike." Twilight said introducing us.

"Hi." I said with a slight wave.

"What are you?" Spike asked.

"I'm a human." I answer.

"What, you mean like what Lyra keeps going on about?" Spike asked.

"Yeah I guess, but she's crazy." I said dismissively.

"Yeah, I know right." Spike said looking at me and I offer him a bro fist that he accepts.

"Oh, I have a question." Pinkie said raising a hand.

"And what's that?" I ask.

"Where are you going to be staying?" Pinkie asked. I thought about it, my hiding place in the ruined castle just wouldn't do for long term survival, and I didn't have anywhere to go.

".......I'm not sure." I said leaning back in my seat, and I notice that AJ, Twilight and Fluttershy are looking at me with blushes.

"I have a spare room." Twilight, Fluttershy and AJ said at the same time.

"Uh, I don't know." I say.

"You can always bunk with me." Pinkie said with a wink.

I blush at hearing this. " I would rather stay in Twilight's guest room." I say without thinking, and she blushes.

"Are you sure?" Pinkie asks pressing her large breasts together.

"I'm sure." I say without gulping and I notice Twilight blushing with a smile.

"Ok, if your sure." Pinkie said defeated for now.

"So you want to stay with me?" Twilight asked looking at me.

"Yeah, I trust you more than those three." I say pointing at Rainbow, Applejack and The White Bitch.

"Hey, that ain't nice." AJ said.

"Neither is getting a broken bone." I said with distain, AJ didn't have a response to that.

"Oh damn, I have weather duty in like five minutes." Rainbow said looking at the clock on the wall getting up and running to the door. "See you guys later, I have an important meeting to get to." She said and flew out the window.

"Now that I think about it I have somewhere to be as well." Applejack said getting up.

"Me too, I have to check up on Roseluck's bird." Fluttershy said getting up as well.

"I think I should be off as well, Sweety Belle will be coming home from school soon." The White Bitch said getting up and walked to the door with Fluttershy and Applejack as the four left.

"Well I'd better go to, I promised Mr & Mrs Cake I would foal sit for them today so they can make a long distance delivery." Pinkie said getting up as well making a hand gesture at Twilight of pulling a party poper as she walked out as well and Twilight nodded.

Spike then sat next to me on the left and Twilight scooted closer. "So, you would rather stay with us rather than any of the others?" Twilight asked, I think she was blushing again but I was still finding it hard to tell with her fur color, god help me when it comes to Pinkie, that'll be a nightmare.

"Yeah, I guess it's because I feel more comfortable around you, that and you haven't hurt me or tried to." I say and Twilight was blushing again this time more deeply than before.

"Awe man, it's going to be cool having another guy around to talk to." Spike said as he looked at me. "We can talk about comic books and cute mares and the latest Daring Do books." He added.

"Spike, I don't think he'll have time to do all that, now why don't you go and make some tea for us all and I'll show Blake to the guest room." Twilight said standing up.

"Ok, Twilight." Spike said getting up and going to the kitchen as I got up and picked up my sword.

"It's this way." Twilight said opening a door going into a basement and I followed.

"Your guest room is in the basement?" I asked walking down the stairs behind her.

"Yeah, it was something the last librarian did before he moved to Mainhaton, I was going to turn it into a lab, but I guess I'll have to wait now." Twilight explained.

"Ok, it's not the first time I've heard of a basement room." I said following in Twilight down to the basement room, the room was more spacious than I thought with a single bed in the back right corner a bedside table next to it a 5 draw chest of draws in the back left corner with a desk and chair just next to it with a small two door wardrobe under the stairs. "Not bad, I was expecting something smaller." I said looking around the room as we looked at the sparsely deprecated room.

"Will this do for you?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, it'll do fine." I said leaning my sword up against the foot of the bed as I say on the end of the bed and lay down on it.

"Comfortable?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, I might just crash out for a bit after everything that's happened today." I said suddenly feeling tired as everything finally started catching up my ass I closed my eyes.

"Ok, I'll let you sleep, I'll come get you later." Twilight said walking back up the stairs.

"Cool." I said and fell asleep.

Chapter 4: Welcome To Ponyville Blake

Twilight's P.O.V

As I left the basement room I looked back at Blake as he fell asleep on the bed, I couldn't blame him, he'd had a rough few hours since walking into Ponyville for the first time. After I was back on the ground floor of the library I walked into the kitchen and saw Spike getting three cups ready as the kettle boiled. "Where's Blake Twilight?" Spike asked.

"He's having a nap in the guest room, he's been through a lot this morning." I said taking a seat at the dining table and had an idea. "Spike, get a letter ready." I said and Spike looked at me confused.

"But didn't you just send her a friendship letter yesterday?" Spike asked.

"I did, but I want to let Princess Celestia know about Blake before somepony like Lyra tries to pull something." I explained.

"Oh right, I didn't think of that." Spike said as he fetched a blank scroll and a quill, when he came back and stood at the ready.

"Dear Princess Celestia, I know I only just sent you a letter but something has unfolded here in Ponyville I think you should know about, earlier this morning a Human walked into Ponyville and was unfortunately mistaken as a monster and attacked by Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack, after that we realized our mistake and went to find him but when we did he ran and we gave chase, but were attacked by three Manticores.

But then Blake came back and threw a rock at one of the Manticores getting them to chase himself, when we caught up a strange sword fell from the sky and Blake took it and used it to kill two of the Manticores, after that we talked to him and he came back to Ponyville with us, I plan to bring Blake to Canterlot in about a week once he's gotten used to being around Ponies and our culture.

can't wait to see you again, your faithful student Twilight Sparkle." I said taking a breather as Spike rolled up the letter and sent it.

"What do you think the Princess will do about Blake?" Spike asked as he pored us both a cup of tea.

"I don't know, but I think it's a good idea to keep her in the loop." I said as I sit at the table.

"How long are you going to let him sleep for?" Spike asked as he passed me a cup and I picked up the book i'd been reading earlier and picked up where I left off.

Blake's P.O.V

I open my eyes in a black void surrounded by blue fire, "What the hell, where am I?" I ask looking around.

"Finally, I was beginning to think that my voice wouldn't reach you." the same voice I'd heard before said.

"Who's there?" I asked and in a burst of blue flame a giant silver and black machine dragon with glowing yellow eyes appeared before me.

"I am here." the dragon said.

"Who are you?" I asked looking at the dragon in awe.

"You know who I am, you've been carrying me around all day." The dragon said and my eye's widened.

"The sword, your the sword." I said in shock at this revelation.

"Indeed, I am the spirit of the sword Dragonbane..... and I have chosen you to be my master." the dragon said.

"Why me?" I ask.

"Because, you fit the parameters of my wielding requirement and have the necessary dormant potential with in you to use my power to it's full extent." Dragonbane said.

"You really think I have it in me?" I asked no longer feeling scared of the dragon.

"I know you do, even if you can't see it in yourself yet." Dragonbane said and looked up for a moment before looking back down at me. "It would seem the waking world calls you back, we will speak again when next you dream fore there is still much I must say." Dragonbane said and I suddenly woke up.

"Hey, Twilight asked me to wake you up." Spike said as I looked at him.

"How long was I out?" I ask as the memory of what happened when I was sleeping was still fresh in my mind.

"You were sleeping for two hours." Spike answered.

"Ok, what time is it?" I asked getting up from the bed feeling refreshed a little. "Spike, I never asked earlier, but what are you?" I asked.

"It's 5:30pm, and I'm a dragon." Spike answered as I put Dragonbane on my back and wondered what he would think of Dragonbane if he saw it.

"So, why did Twilight want you to wake me up?" I ask.

"You'll have to ask her." Spike said with a smirk as he went up the stairs back to the ground floor.

"Something's up." I thought as I rotated my shoulders and cracked my neck from side to side and then followed Spike up stairs in time to see him walk out the door.

"There you are, did you sleep well?" Twilight asked coming down from the 1st floor.

"Yeah, I guess." I said looking around as if I was going to get jumped at any second.

"Are you hungry?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, I guess I could do with a bite to eat." I answer feeling my stomach growl at the mention of food.

"Do you want to come with me to Sugar Cube Corner?" Twilight asked with a slight blush.

"Do they sell food?" I ask.

"Yes." Twilight answered with a kind smile.

"Then lead the way, I'm starving." I said thinking with my stomach. I followed Twilight to the same building that looked like a gingerbread house I saw earlier. "Wait, this is an actual shop, I thought it was just some piece of modern art." I say looking at Twilight as we stand out side.

"To quote a cirtaine big red pony, e'yup." Twilight said with a chuckle.

"The curtains are drawn, I think it's closed." I said feeling my stomach growl again.

"It's open, trust me." Twilight said with a smile.

"Don't trust her." Dragonbane said in the back of my mind. Twilight walked in and after a moment I followed letting my hunger get the better of me, the inside was dark and the door was slammed closed behind me.

"Surprise." multiple voices shouted together as the lights came on.

The first thing I saw was a banner that said "welcome to Ponyville Blake" written on it, Pinkie then popped up right in my face.

"Do you like your welcome to Ponyville party?" Pinkie asked with wide smile.

I looked around at the party and everyone who was here. "Uh, I don't know what to say, how did you even put it together so quickly?" I ask as I looked at all the decorations and food that had been laid out.

"Don't ask, it's just a Pinkie thing." Rainbow said flying over to me.

"I thought you had to go to work?" I asked.

"And I did, I finished in ten seconds flat." Rainbow said.

"What, Your that fast?" I asked as she struck a pose.

"Yeah, I'm the fastest flyer in Equestria." Rainbow boasted. I wasn't expecting a party, but when the DJ got the music going that was it, it went from a party to a rave complete with neon lights and smoke machines and alcohol, I don't know how long the party lasted all I know is I somehow went in sober and left absolutely shitfaced to the point where I was tripping and stumbling with nearly every step, but I least I didn't spill my drink and after a while it blacked out in a blurr of neon light and music.

Chapter 5: New Tricks

It has been two days since the party and it's only now that I'm feeling back to normal rather than like I'm dying, it was a nice warm day with clear skies, I stood in one of the grassy fields just outside Ponyville with Dragonbane drawn in my right hand. "Alright, now swing me in a power attack at that rock." Dragonbane Said.

"Power attack?" I asked.

"Yes, a power attack, simply swing me with more force and power than normal." Dragonbane said in my mind.

"Oh right, that makes sense now." I say as I swing Dragonbane with more force releasing another energy wave like the one I used before. "Wow, it actually worked." I said as I suddenly felt a little worn out. "Damn, all of a sudden I feel like I just ran a mile." I said taking a few deep breaths.

"That technique is called the Dragon Slayer Wave, and rather than consuming magical or elemental power it consumes your stamina, you can also use a more powerful two handed version of this technique, but you must hold for at least ten seconds for it to charge." Dragonbane explained.

"Cool, it's like my own version of the Getsuga Tensho from Bleach." I say as I give Dragonbane a few swings here and there as if I actually know what I'm doing.

"That is a good comparison, now sheave me and I'll explain how to use the Dragon Shield." Dragonbane Said and I sheaved it. "Now, bring your arms up and cross them at the wrist.

"Ok, like this?" I asked bringing my arms up into a boxers guard before crossing my arms at the wrist and the marks on my arm glowed blue as a shield of energy instantly went up around my body.

"Yes, just like that. This shield is very powerful and only an impact of greater power than my own can break it." Dragonbane explained.

"Neat, what's next?" I ask excited to learn more of Dragonbane's powers.

"That is all for now." Dragonbane Said.

"What, but I want to learn more." I say out loud rather than in my mind, but Dragonbane didn't answer me. "Really, your giving me the silent treatment?" I ask but still get no reply. "Fine, I have other things to do today anyway." I say heading back to Ponyville.

As I head back into town I see Twilight and Spike walking together and catch them up. "Hey Blake, where have you been?" Spike asked.

"Oh you know, getting some practice in." I say as I see everyone gathering to look at a stage that had been set up in town. "What's this about?" I asked as we got closer.

"I don't know, but we're going to find out." Twilight said.

"Come one, come all, come and witness the amazing magic of the great and powerful Trixie." A light blue mare with two lighter shades of blue for her hair and tail and was wearing a a pointy wizard hat and one of those one piece outfits that female magicians ware in places like Vegas with diamond studded heals said as she appeared on stage in a puff of smoke. "Watch in awe as the great and powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever seen by pony eyes." this Trixie boasted as I crossed my arms.

"My, my, my what boasting." Rarity said as she came through the crowd standing next to Me, Spike and Twilight as the rest of the girls came over to stand by us. And yes I know I said I was going to refer to her as the white bitch but I'm too lazy for that, but don't take my laziness as forgiveness.

"I'm going to have to quote the Dragonborn from Skyrim and say, I don't care for boasting." I say unimpressed by this show off.

"Come on, no pony is as magical as Twi.... Twi... oh, hey Rarity, I mustache." Spike said suddenly running away. Poor guy, he went and embarrassed himself.

"There's nothing wrong with being talented is there?" Twilight asked as she walked over to Rarity and AJ and I felt like slapping her on the back of the head for asking a stupid question, but then remembered who I was living with and put my hand back down.

"Nothing at all, except when someone's showing it off like a school filly with fancy new ribbons." AJ said glaring at Trixie as she poofed some flowers out of nowhere and caught them.

"Just because one has the ability to perform lots of magic does not make one better than the rest of us." Rarity said.

"Especially when you got me around being better than the rest of us." Rainbow said puffing out her chest only to have AJ get in her face. "Uh I mean, yeah magic shmagic, boo." Rainbow added half-heartedly.

"Well, well, well it seems we have some nay sayers in the audience." Trixie said offended. "Who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of the great and powerful Trixie, do the not know they are in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria." Trixie boasted again and I was starting to get sick of her talking in the third person, honestly it was tempting to send her a Dragon Slayer Wave but didn't... for now.

"Just who does she think she is?" Rarity asked while putting her hands on her hips.

"Yeah since we all know Twilight here is..." Spike tried saying but was taken away by Twilight before he could finish.

"Cheep parlor tricks, I should have guessed as much." I say putting my hands in my pockets and walking off as Trixie set off fire works.

"You dare compare the magic of the great and powerful Trixie to a parlor trick." Trixie said as I kept my back to her.

"Yeah I do, and what are you going to do about it." I say walking away deciding to follow some advice from my grandfather, that being. "The most powerful thing a man can do to a woman or mare in this case is walk away, especially when they want drama." As I walked away I could hear Trixie shouting after me like a banshee but I was already gone by then.

A Few Hours Later

I was sat on one of the couches reading a book on Equestrian culture, I was just getting to a part about herds and heat when I put the book down. "Twilight, are you sure I need to read this?" I ask rubbing my eyes while she was reading a spell book on a pedestal on the other side of the room.

"Yes, your now living in Equestria, you should at least learn the history and culture." Twilight said not looking away from the spell book, I just glared into the back of her head wanting to say something funny but Spike came rushing in.

"Twilight, Blake you've gotta come quick." Spike said in a panic as i got up and slipped Dragonbane on my back.

"Be careful, there is danger nearby." Dragonbane said.

"I've already told you Spike, I don't want to show up Trixie." Twilight said only looking at the poor guy for a moment before looking back at her book.

"No, You don't understand." Spike said.

ROAR!!!!

"Uh, is that what I think it is?" Twilight asked.

"Majorly." Spike said looking scared.

"That sounds like the thing we heard the other day." I say looking between Twilight and Spike for a moment. "What are you waiting for, let's get out there." I say running to the door with Spike and Twilight followed us. As we ran down the street we were passed by a group of panicked ponies. I could see the thing from were we where, it was huge a bear bigger than a house that looked like a living star constellation, we ran up to the two young cults that had been glazing Trixie earlier.

"What's going on?" Twilight asked as I drew Dragonbane.

"We brought an Ursa to town." The shorter colt said as the taller colt nodded.

"You WHAT!" Twilight shouted.

"You fucking retards, that thing is going to rip this whole town apart." I said looking at the two idiots and I'm surprised I didn't hit them.

"Don't worry, the great and powerful Trixie will vanquish it." The taller colt said as they both looked at Trixie.

"I can't." Trixie said hanging her head in shame. "I can't, I never have, no one can vanquish an Ursa Major I just made the whole thing up to make me look better." Trixie admitted.

"YOU MADE IT UP!" the two colts shouted together and the Ursa roared again as Twilight stepped forwards charging her horn with magic, as the whistling of the wind started sounding like soft music and the Ursa looked drowsy, Twilight's horn glowed brighter as the water tank on the water tower was pulled free and emptied and then levitated through a barn and filled with milk and I didn't want to know how Twilight pulled that off.

"That's new." Spike said as I put Dragonbane back in it's scabbard, the Ursa nearly fell on Trixie until Twilight picked it up with her magic and gave it the water container that was now filled with milk and the Ursa started drinking from it like a baby with a bottle as Twilight's magic carried it back into the forest and back where it came from, I was speechless at what Twilight just did but as soon as she stopped using her magic she nearly collapsed and I rushed over and caught her putting one of her arms over my shoulders for support.

"That was some fancy spell work Sparks, not bad." I said letting Twilight lean on me until she got her legs back under her from using so much power.

"Sparks?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, it's a nickname I just came up with for you after seeing all those sparks coming off your horn just now." I explain and she looked a away with a slight blush, I didn't think much about it but it wasn't completely lost on me what it might mean. After everyone gave Twilight their thanks and approval and she punished the two idiots and Trixie ran off we came back to the library and Twilight sent a letter to someone I don't know who and after that I went to my room for some shut eye.

Chapter 6: Canterlot Part 1

Chapter 6: Canterlot Part 1

It had been about five days since the incident with Trixie and the Ursa and things had gone back to normal near enough there was just one problem, Twilight had woken me and Spike up extra early this morning and told me to wear something nice but not too formal, so I put on dark blue jeans a plain white t-shirt and a plain blue casual shirt and left it unbuttoned and here we are on the platform of Ponyville train station at the crack of dawn waiting for a train, just me Twilight and Spike because everyone else is busy today or something. "So why are we waiting for a train so early?" I ask with a yawn.

"Because we're going to Canterlot and I don't want to be late." Twilight said making sure she looked presentable.

"Yawn, Trust me Blake she always gets like this when it comes to who we're meeting today." Spike said yawning again.

"And who are we meeting." I ask as a train whistle goes off nearby.

"We're going to meet Princess Celestia." Twilight said.

I jump back in surprise. "What!" I said surprised. "The hell Sparks, you should have told me we were meeting royalty." I said "I feel way under dressed."

"It's ok, The Princess won't mind." Twilight said as the train pulled into the station and when it stopped the three of us got on and settled into a carriage, a few of the other ponies looked at me but one that I noticed the most was a grey mare with black hair who kept looking at me in a almost flirty way as she held a big instrument case for what looked like a wood string instrument and I had to look away when she made a kissing face at me and winked. "Blake?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah." I said looking at her and she looked at me with a serious look.

"Blake, the castle guards know your coming and that your armed, so don't do anything to make them jumpy." Twilight said looking at me without dropping the serious look on her face.

"Ok Sparks, I get it no whipping Dragonbane out when we get there." I say and Twilight relaxes as we settle in for a long ride. I spent most of the ride looking out the window as the land passed us by while Spike went back to sleep and Twilight read a book. and I have to admit Equestria is a beautiful place, at least from what I was seeing through the window anyway. It took about two hours for the train to pull into Canterlot station and the difference between Canterlot and Ponyville was like the difference between Whiterun and Solitude with Ponyville being Whiterun and Canterlot being Solitude. "Wow, I was expecting this place to look similar to Ponyville, but it's totally different." I said admiring the architectural differences of the city.

"I know right, it's almost like traveling through time with the different types of architectural styles in the different city's and towns." Spike said getting off the train next to me as I put my hands in my pockets.

"Come on guys, the sooner we get there the sooner we can meet the Princess." Twilight said rushing ahead of us. I looked at Spike and he shrugged as we jogged to catch up with Twilight.

"So, is there anything I should know before we get there?" I ask not wanting to make an ass of myself In front of royalty.

"Yes, when we meet the Princess bow and call her your majesty or Princess until she tells you otherwise." Twilight explained as we passed a coffee shop called Pony Joe's and the smell of the coffee had me craving some of the good stuff, but unfortunately Twilight didn't want to stop for a quick coffee and marched us all the way up to the castle gates.

I looked at the guards in their golden armor and wondered if it was real gold or just plated, as we got closer the guards crossed their spears In front of us. "Hold and state your business." The guard on the left said.

"Twilight Sparkle bringing Blake Winters for a meeting with Princess Celestia." Twilight said.

"Sorry miss Sparkle, but we can not allow anypony to enter with a weapon, expected or otherwise." The guard on the right said.

"At ease." A voice said from behind and we turned around to see a white pony wearing different armor to the normal guards.

"Captain Shining Armour Sir." The two guards said saluting, Twilight turned around and hugged this Shining Armour for a while.

"I've missed you." Twilight said in delight and I was getting the impression this guy may have been her boyfriend.

"I've missed you too Twily." Captain Armour said letting go of Twilight. "And you must be Blake?" He asked offering me a hand to shake.

"Yeah, I'm Blake." I say shaking his hand.

"Princess Celestia is expecting you in her study, I'm going to be escorting you, so stay close." Shining Armour said as Twilight let go of him.

"Long time no see Shining Armour." Spike said bro fisting him.

"You too seem close." I say and Twilight and Shining look at each other and laugh.

"That's because we're siblings." Twilight explained.

"Really, your related?" I ask surprised.

"Yes, we're really related." Shining Armour said leading us into the castle.

"It's just you don't look related to me." I say as we enter the castle behind Shining Armour and follow him past maids, butlers and more guards.

"Yeah, we used to get that a lot." Twilight admitted, as we eventually reach a door emblazoned with the mark of a sun in solid gold, or at least I think it was gold.

Shining Armour knocked the door. "Princess Celestia, your guests have arrived." He said and the door opened on its own and Shining Armour and Twilight walked in and I suddenly had a bad case of cold feet.

"Come on Blake, she won't bite." Spike said also going in and I followed. Inside the room was cozy with a lit fireplace with a fancy carpet in front of it, with book shelves up against the wall that were filled to the top, to the left and a desk in front of a stained glass window. Sat at the desk was a white furred mare who had to be at least six foot one with Wings and a horn, a first for me, and was dressed in a elegant white and gold dress, her hair and tail a mix of pastel colors and her purple eyes looked at me with both curiosity and the warmth of a mother, I also spotted the mark of a sun on her arm like the one on the door.

I suddenly remembered I was meant to bow and did bowing low in respect. "So you must be Blake, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, I'm princess Celestia." She said in a soft and motherly tone that put my nerves at ease.

"Yes your highness, I'm Blake Winters." I say feeling less nervous than I was a moment ago.

"And I take it that the sword on your back is the same one that fell from the sky?" Celestia asked.

"Yes it is." I answer.

Celestia stood up and walked over to me and looked at the marks on my right arm. "And these are the marks the sword placed on you?" She asked as she looked at them with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, they are." I say as she now looked at Dragonbane's hilt as it stuck up over my right shoulder.

"May I see the sword?" Celestia asked.

"Of course." I say drawing Dragonbane and placing it down on her desk. Celestia walked over to Dragonbane and looked at it closely.

"I've never seen a sword like this, and it's power far surpasses my own." Celestia said as she waved a hand back and fourth over the sword as a golden glow came from her horn.

"Is there something wrong Princess?" Twilight asked.

"No, I just haven't seen or heard of a sword like this before, not in any story or any legend. " Celestia said and tried picking Dragonbane up but it wouldn't lift from the desk even as she used both hands and her magic. "I don't understand, why can't I lift it." Celestia said as she became frustrated.

"That's because Dragonbane has a wielding requirement that has to be satisfied before it can be lifted, Princess." I explain as Celestia gave up on lifting Dragonbane.

"Well, that explains why I can't lift it, and you said it's called Dragonbane, did you come up with that name?" Celestia asked looking at me again.

"No I didn't come up with the name, the spirit of the sword told me it's name." I explain.

"The spirit of the sword?" Celestia questioned.

"Yes, the sword has a dragon spirit inside it that controls the powers it gives me through the marks." I explain.

"I see, should I assume that the spirit of the sword communicates with you every now and then?" Celestia asked.

"Yes it does, some times by speaking inside my head and other times by showing up in my dreams, but he's not always helpful." I say and the Princess nods in understanding.

"And have you ever trained with a sword before?" Celestia asked looking right into my eyes to catch me in a lie.

"No, I haven't." I answer honestly. Twilight looked at me in surprise due to her and the others assuming I knew what I was doing. "But, I am willing to learn."

Celestia looked at me for a long while before saying. "Is that so, and why are you willing to learn?" She asked.

"Because the significance of a powerful magic sword like Dragonbane isn't lost on me, and for better or worse Dragonbane has chosen me to be it's master, which means I have a responsibility to learn how to use it and it's power." I explain as I remember that always appropriate Spider-man wisdom. "With great power comes great responsibility." Celestia smiled at my explanation and I could see that Shining Armour was nodding in approval of my reasoning while Twilight had a faint blush, I think it's still hard to tell while Spike was looking at Dragonbane with a mixture of awe and fear, Celestia looked at Spike and her smile faded.

"Spike, what's wrong?" Celestia asked concerned for the young dragon she'd known longer than me.

"That sword." Spike said in a shaky voice.

"What about it little bro?" Shining Armour asked.

"It was forged in dragon fire." Spike said as he took a few steps away from Dragonbane.

"What, forged in dragon fire?" Twilight asked looking at the sword and then back to Spike.

"He is correct, me and my brother Excelldrin were forged in dragon fire and made of a indestructible alloy." Dragonbane said in my mind.

"He's right." I say picking Dragonbane up and re-sheaving it, as soon as Dragonbane's blade was out of sight Spike went back to normal.

"Are you ok Spike?" Celestia asked kneeling down and placing her hands on his shoulders to comfort him.

"Yeah I'm fine Princess, it was just intense is all, like having another dragon roaring right next to me." Spike said as he shook it off and before anyone else could say a word the door to Celestia's study was thrown open by a short blue mare who has short lighter blue hair and tail who had wings and a horn like Celestia and she was dressed in a black dressing gown with a white crescent moon on the back.

"Sister, thine nephew hast disturbed owe rest the the past three days, we demand tho throw him in the dungeon for three days and nights as punishment." The mare said with bags under her eyes and a bad case of bed head.

"Luna I've told you, we don't throw ponies in the dungeon for such minor offences anymore." Celestia said with an annoyed look. "Even if a stay in the dungeon would do his attitude wonders." she added.

"But sister, this must stop if we are to perform owe nightly duties." Luna said and pouted at Celestia, oh god too cute.

"Look away you fool, no one can survive such cuteness." Dragonbane said and I looked away as my face turned slightly red. Unfortunately for me Luna turned and looked at me and from the corner of my eye I saw her cheeks go red for only a second before she looked at Dragonbane on my back.

"Sister, who is this warrior, and why doth he have a weapon in the castle, we were told up on owe return guests of the castle were not permitted weapons, unless we were miss informed?" Luna asked.

"You were told right Luna." Celestia said.

"Then why doth he have a weapon?" Luna asked looking at me again.

"The sword he carries is magic in origin and it has bonded to him." Celestia explained and Luna looked back at me again.

"Doth owe sister speak the truth?" Luna asked me with a hard glare.

"Yes." I answer and Luna looked back to Celestia.

"And what doth tho plan to do with him sister?" Luna asked.

"Well I was going to ask Captain Shining Armour to spar with him so I can see his skills or lack there of for myself." Celestia said looking at me and Shining Armour. "If you two don't mind indulging me that is?" she asked.

"As always Princess, it would be an honer." Shining Armour said.

"I guess I'm cool with that, as long as I'm not getting thrown in at the deep end." I say as I scratch the back of my head.

"Then it is settled, we shall whiteness Captain Armour spar with the Warrior." Luna said turning to the door.

"Luna, if you intent to come with us, you may want to make yourself proper first." Celestia said with a slight chuckle as Luna looked at herself and blushed a deep red as she realized she was still wearing a dressing gown.

"W-we shall meet thee at the arena once we are dressed." Luna said embarrassed as she quickly left.

"Well then Every pony let's go to the arena and wait for Luna to return." Celestia said leaving the room first followed by Twilight and Spike and then me and Shining Armour.

A few minuteslater.

Shining Armour and I were stood in a coliseum like arena and Twilight, Spike and Celestia were up in the stands waiting for Luna. "So, your not going to come at me full force from the start right?" I asked as we waited for Princess Luna before we start.

"Of course, I don't want to hurt you and besides you said you've never been trained before, so it would be unfair if I didn't hold back." Shining Armour said giving me a reassuring smile that did little to help my nerves.

"Are you as offended as me at the way he said that?" Dragonbane asked.

"A little." I answered in thought.

"Just remember I won't be guiding you're movements this time, so hesitating isn't an option." Dragonbane said.

"Do you think I can beat him?" I ask in thought as I look at Shining Armour just standing there with his arms crossed.

"No, he has more skill and experience than you, not to mention he's a Unicorn which means you'll need to be ready to put up the Dragon Shield when he uses magic." Dragonbane answered.

"So, I'm going to get my ass kicked?" I ask in thought.

"Yes, but you should be able to catch him off guard if your timing is right." Dragonbane said and I saw Princess Luna enter the stands and sit next to Celestia.

Celestia stood up and said in a booming voice like rolling thunder. "Take your positions." And Shining Armour and I stood opposite each other with owe swords drawn. "This sparing match will end when either one gives up or I am satisfied, Begin." She said and a guard hit a gong to start the match.

Fight Starts.

From the word go, Shining Armour ran at Blake and raised his sword above his head and swung it down at Blake. Blake brought Dragonbane up and blocked the strike but his foot work was wrong and he was sent stumbling back from the blow. When he recovered Blake saw that Shining Armour wasn't moving and simply held his sword in a two handed defensive stance and Blake got the idea and slashed Dragonbane at Shining Armour once, only to have his attack blocked and get knocked back by a magic pulse from Shining Armour's horn. "Come on Blake, you can do better than that." Shining Armour taunted.

Blake ran towards Shining Armour for a downwards strike, but Shining Armour dodged to Blake's left and tripped him up making him fall down. Blake quickly got back up and slashed at Shining Armour again with a better stance forcing Shining Armour to block, but it had as much effect as hitting a brick wall due to Shining Armour's stance locking him in place.

Blake then tried swinging at Shining Armour a few times in quick succession but missed every time, Shining Armour then used a strong magic blast to knock Blake a few meters away. "And here I thought you said that sword gave you powers, I guess not." Shining Armour said as Blake got back up with Dragonbane calling him out for not using the Dragon Shield.

"Ti's hard to watch." Luna said.

"Nicely done Shining Armour." Spike said as he sat next to Twilight who was torn between supporting her brother or cheering Blake on.

"He needs a lot of work, but I like his tenacity, and the way he keeps getting up even though he keeps getting knocked down." Celestia said as she waited to see what Blake would do.

Blake breathed heavily as he looked Shining Armour. "Come on, show me something I've never seen before." Shining Armour said challenging Blake to do something.

"Ok, you want me to do something, I'll do something." Blake said taking Dragonbane in both hands as he raised it above his head and the marks on the sword and his arm glowed blue as blue fire ignited on Dragonbane's blade, Blake held for a few seconds and swung Dragonbane with all his might. "DRAGON SLAYER WAVE!!!" Blake shouted releasing a massive energy wave at Shining Armour. Everyone stood up at the sight of the energy wave Blake released as Shining Armour teleported out of the way and Blake's attack cut through the coliseum and blew away every cloud in the sky.

Everyone was silent for a whole minute after Blake used his attack, before Blake fell to his hands and knees dropping Dragonbane due to the extreme exhaustion and fatigue brought on by using a two handed Dragon Slayer Wave, Celestia then stood up and said in a booming voice. "This match is over."

Fight Ends.

I breathed heavily feeling like I was going to pass out but some how didn't. I heard the sound of armoured foot steps getting closer and looked up at Shining Armour who offered a hand to help me back up. "Not bad Blake, you had me with that last one." Shining Armour said as I picked up Dragonbane and took his hand.

"I think I had myself as well." I say as I put Dragonbane back in it's scabbard breathing heavily still feeling like I was going to pass out standing up and Shining Armour gave me a pat on the back, not a hard one but the sort you'd give someone for doing their best. Before I got the chance to fall over Twilight, Spike and the Princesses came down from the stands and approached us.

"That was incredible Blake." Twilight said surprising me with a hug.

"An impressive display, we look forward to seeing what tho will be capable of with training." Luna said.

"Yeah, that was awesome, Rainbow is going to be gutted she missed this." Spike said.

"Yes, that was indeed quite the spectacle although, you clearly need a proper instruction in swordsmanship." Celestia said looking at the damage to the coliseum. "That being said, I can't help but admire your spirit, every time you were knocked down you got back up, even though you knew you would be knocked down again." Celestia said looking at me with respect. So suck a fat one old man, who's soft now.

"What do you think Princess, give him a bit of training, stick him in a set of armor and he'd fit right in as a new recruit in the gaurd?" Shining Armour asked.

"That an amusing idea Shining Armour." Celestia said with slight chuckle. "But that is Blake's choice to make." Celestia said with a smile as she checked the time on a gold lady's wrist watch on her right arm. "Darn, I thought I had more time." She said slightly frustrated.

"Whats the matter Princess?" Twilight asked.

"I have a meeting to get to." Celestia explained.

"And we have a bed to get back to." Luna said with a yawn.

"But there's still so much we need to talk about." Twilight said in disappointment as her ears folded back.

"Don't worry Twilight, I have a few hours free tomorrow and the day after is open until 6PM." Celestia said.

"I have to get back to my duties as well." Shining Armour said. "Hey since your going to be here for a few days to speak to the Princess, why don't you go home and see mom and dad." He suggested.

"I guess we could." Twilight said. I said nothing and just focused on getting my stamina back. "Ok, we'll see you at the house later." Twilight said hugging her brother before he escorted the two Princesses back to the castle.

"Come on Blake, it's this way." Spike said going a different direction to the Princesses and Shining Armour and Twilight and I followeded him.

Canterlot Part 3

It has been a bout an hour since Princess Luna used her flair spell to call the night guards to us, but I still can't get the image of that mare killing herself out of my mind, if I hadn't cut her horn off she'd still be alive right now. And to make matters worse, I can hear my father's voice again. "That's it boy, how do you feel to make your first kill." I know it's just in my head, but that doesn't change the fact that, I'm to blame for her death in part.

"Blake, we are returning to the castle to inform thine sister of these events." Luna said, but I was too spaced out to really listen as Luna walked away with a full escort of guards and went back to the castle. I looked over at the body and the blood on the ground that was now covered with a cloth and looked away.

"Pull yourself together, she chose the cowards way out." Dragonbane said in my mind.

"I know Dragonbane, I just don't want to be like him." I say in thought as the image of my father standing over a mountain of bloody corpses flashes through my mind.

"You are not him, from what I have seen in your memories he has no mercy, no compassion. But you do care, you have more heart than he ever will, because you understand the value of life and the weight of taking it." Dragonbane said.

"I know but." I try to think.

"But nothing, you are not your father and you never will be, but you must understand that when someone kills them self its not your fault, it's theirs." Dragonbane says in a reassuring tone. "I would never have chosen you if you didn't value life and what it means to take it, just think of the time you killed the Manticore to save the lives of your new friends, even when you weren't friends yet, you are worthy, nether forget that." Dragonbane said and a small smile came on my lips as I stood up from the bench I'd been sat on since the fighting had ended and walked over to where I dropped Dragonbane and re-sheaved it.

"Thanks, Dragonbane." I say in thought ready to move on.

"BLAKE!!!" a voice calls out getting closer and I turn my head to see Spike running up to me past the night guards.

"Spike, shouldn't you be asleep in bed?" I ask, wondering why he's here as he catches his breath.

"It's Twilight and Cadence... they've... been... taken." He says between breaths. "And Shining Armour won't wake up." He added.

"What?" I say in disbelief.

"Spare me the details, let's go." I say going into a run back to Twilight's parents' house with Spike trying to keep up. After a short run, we reached the Sparkle family mansion and went in to find Night Light and Velvet hugging each other while crying.

"Oh Night, owe baby girl is gone, and owe son won't wake up." Velvet whaled

"Mom, Dad, I found Blake." Spike said as we came in.

"Oh please, help us get Twilight and Cadence back." Velvet said, running up to me, beating her fists on my chest. I didn't know how to react, I wanted to say something but I didn't know what to say, so I put my hands on Velvet's shoulders and pushed her back to arms length so I could look her in the eye.

"I swear, I'll find them and bring them back, even if it kills me." I say to Velvet, and I give Night Light a look of determination, and he nods.

"What are we going to do?" Spike asks, and I can only think of one thing.

"We have to go to Princess Luna." I say as I look at Spike.

"Princess Luna? why not Princess Celestia?" Spike asked.

"Because Princess Luna and I were attacked by cloaked strangers tonight. Besides, Celestia is asleep right now, right." I say giving Spike my best confident smile, I don't want him to lose hope, he's too young for that, besides he needs a friend right now and I know we've only known each other a week, but I refuse to let him fall into despair, he's too innocent for that, I'll take on all that to keep him innocent, even if it means damning my self in the prossess.

"Ok Blake, let's go to the castle." Spike said, wiping away his tears as he gave me a nod. We arrived at the castle in under an hour, reaching the throne roomquickly.

"Princess Luna, Twilight and Cadence have been taken." I say as we walk into the throne room. Princess Luna looked at us as she turned away from some guards she was talking to.

"Surly though jest, such a thing is no coincidence." Luna said as she walked over to us.

"It's true, Twilight was taken." Spike said on the verge of tears, and damn I actually felt sorry for him, I'd only known Twilight a week and the others here in Canterlot less than that, but Spike had known them his whole life, I can't imagine what he must be feeling.

"Princess Luna, I think this might not be a coincidence, the attack on you, Twilight and Cadence going missing, I think they may be connected." I say as Spike and I get closer.

"We believe you are right Blake, there is something suspicious about all this." Luna said, bringing a hand to her chin. "Especially since our sister has also gone missing from her bed." Luna said, and I couldn't believe what I just heard, Even Celestia was gone, I was getting some major bad vibes from this.

"Guards, I am here to take control of the situation." A white furred male unicorn with a blond mane and tail wearing a white suit said as he walked into the room.

"That will not be necessary, nephew." Luna said, looking at the unicorn.

"A...auntie Luna, I'm glad to see you're safe." the unicorn said, and I noticed a brief look of annoyance on his face for only a second, I didn't like him, and not because he was looking at me like a piece of shit.

"Ah, nephew. For once your timing is impeccable, we shall require thou's assistance in keeping this matter out of the public eye until it is resolved." Luna said, looking at the unicorn.

"Of course, auntie, I Prince Blue Blood shall prove my value to Equestria." He said, making a dramatic show of theatrics.

"Very good, Blue Blood, we shall trust you in this endeavour, do what you must to keep the piece." Luna said, and I caught the wicked and sinister look in his eye, I recognized it because my father always has the same look in his eyes.

"Blake, we will also require your assistance as well." Luna said looking at me, I may not know much about forensic investigating beyond what I've seen in the TV shows C.S.I and N.C.I.S, but I'm already involved now, so I might as well do a Rocky and go the distance and see this through to the end, even if only for my own pride as a human.

"Don't worry, Princess, I'm in this till the end, I give you my word." I say with confidence, and I notice that Blue Blood is looking at me, and he looks pissed, but only for a moment.

"We appreciate your enthusiasm, Blake." Luna said, giving me a smile with a slight blush. I couldn't help but smile at her reaction as I turned to Spike and said.

"Come on, I have an idea." I say and Spike followed me out of the throne room, he and I say quite for a while until that ass Blue Blood comes out, I don't know why but I just don't trust him, he was giving off all kinds of red flags.

"Why are we following him?" Spike asked in a whisper.

"Because he doesn't seem like the helpful type, and you saw his reaction to Princess Luna, right?" I ask, as we follow at a distance, making sure that we're not seen by him.

"Now that you mention it, he does seem to be acting a little off." Spike said as Blue Blood turned a corner, and we lost him.

"The hell, we shouldn't have lost him so easily." I say as we enter the corridor that we just lost Blue Blood in, I really didn't like this, and it wasn't because he just pulled a Batman on us and vanished. There was something about all this that I just couldn't figure out, Celestia, Cadence and Luna I understand as targets, they're royalty, but Twilight wasn't and then it hit me like a kick to the nuts. Twilight was smart and the student of Celestia. If Twilight was around to look for the Princess, the plan that this Rex guy or gal has could be stopped before it even begins. But if that's the case, then it must be someone who knows the daily routine of the castle and who also knows about Twilight and what she's capable of.

"Blake, are you ok, you've been quiet for a little while?" Spike asked.

"I'm fine, just thinking." I say while looking at a stained glass window of Twilight and the others defeating a dark mare in armor. I didn't know what it was about, but it looked new like it had only been fitted recently.

"About what?" Spike asked with a confused look on his face.

"I think Twilight was taken to stop her from getting involved." I explain as I look back at Spike.

"You think so?" He asked.

"Yeah, it makes sense to take her out of this, since she's proven herself to be capable in the past and she's Celestia's student." I explain.

"I never thought of that." Spike said with a look of sudden understanding. "Still, I'm surprised you thought of that." He added.

"Mr. Winters, I require your presence for something." A night guard mare in different armor said walking up to us.

"Ok, let's go." I say getting ready to follow this guard.

"Unfortunately this matter is too sensitive for the young drake." She said as she stood before us at attention. I looked back to Spike and he gave me an understanding nod which I returned and he left without a word, no doubt going back to the Sparkle family mansion. "This way please." The guard said leading me through the castle.

"So, what's this about?" I ask as we take a left down a corridor.

"The mare that killed herself in her attack has been identified." The guard answered.

"Really, that didn't take long?" I ask.

"The mare is lady Pearl Shine. She's one of the nobility, and her husband is either not answering the door at their home or has gone into hiding." The guard explained as we walked together. Damn, a noble this shit just got interesting.

"Could this be some kind of cue de ta in the making?" I ask and the guard stopped to look back at me.

"It is a possibility, but you were able to trip up their plans by saving the Princess." The guard says giving me a look somewhere between thank you and the bedroom look and I have no idea how I feel about that right now, so I'm just going to toss it into my subconscious for now.

"But if this is a cue, wouldn't there need to be someone with a clam to the throne?" I ask looking at the guard.

"But if the attacks were carried out perfectly, that would only leave Prince Blue Blood with any real claim to the throne." The guard said reaching the same conclusion I had. "Your not suggesting that the Prince is involved, are you?" She asked.

"That's exactly what I'm suggesting." I say. And I could be wrong but with how he was acting, it seems possible to me at least.

"That is a serious accusation you're making with no evidence." She said and I know she's right but Blue Blood is the only one who stands to gain anything from this.

"I know, but it just seems convenient for him is all." I say not really sure how I was going to find any evidence.

Canterlot Final

"This way." The guard said as she once again led me somewhere in the castle, taking me this way and that, it seemed like she was trying to shake off anyone who might be following us, but I couldn't be sure, we walked in silence for a good while before stopping at an unassuming wooden door. "This is it " the guard said holding it open for me and I walked in to find Princess Luna as the door was closed behind me.

"Princess Luna is something wrong?" I ask, not sure why she wanted to see me in private, it could be any number of reasons, not all of them safe, or safe for work for that matter.

"Good, the Captain was able to find you quickly, we have a request to make of thee." Luna said in a flat serious tone.

"That depends what it is, I don't want to have to do something I'm uncomfortable with unless I absolutely have to." I say, and I notice that Luna seems to consider what I said just now.

"We understand, we would like thee to search the catacombs beneath the city." Luna said matter of factually.

"The catacombs?" I ask, I kinda guessed that Canterlot was old, but catacombs, that's some medieval shit right there, literally.

"Yes, we need you to search them in case the criminals are using them to hide." Luna said as she turned a way from me to look out the window.

"What makes you think they would be in the Catacombs, I mean, we already know that one noble was involved, so there might be more?" I ask, and I don't think I'm wrong on this, I can't see any noble hanging out in a catacomb for any reason.

"It is because many of the homes of the old noble families have passages in their basement that connects to the catacombs." Luna explained with a straight face. damn, I guess I have a lot to learn before I go making assumptions.

"Ok Princess, I'll check it out but there's no guarantee that I'll find anything." I say, not even sure where to find an entrance to the catacombs.

"Excellent, you will need these." Luna said handing me a key and a... scroll. "This key and map shall guide you." She added. Right the scroll is a map, I should have guessed as much.

"I just have one question." I say, seemingly catching Luna off guard.

"What is it?" Luna asked.

"How do I get into the catacombs?" I ask, scratching the back of my head and Luna let out a short giggle.

"How silly of us, we forgot that thou doth not know where to find the entrance, simply follow the red bricks in the street from the castle gates." Luna said with red cheeks and a smile.

"Well, now I no where to start, I'll be off." I say giving the Princess a bow and I leave the small room, on my way out I ask a guard to take me back to the gates and sure enough there were red bricks in the road going off to the left as you come out of the castle, so I followed the trail for two blocks turned right down a street for one block then turned left again then straight ahead for another two blocks leading me to an old graveyard where the red bricks go in and led me to what looks like a family mausoleum with an Iron door on the outside, I used the key Luna gave me to unlock it finding a set of red brick steps going down under ground, it was dark but Dragonbane came through for me again and activated an ability that let me see in the dark as if it was day light, with a yellow tint that Dragonbane said was because I was effectively seeing through his eyes, I didn't mind too much, I was just grateful I could see where I was going and the fact that i wasn't using a light meant that if the criminals were down here, they wouldn't see me coming.

Using the map I cleared most of Canterlot's catacombs, but as I reached the last section of the catacombs, which were under the castle and very close to some kind of crystal mine, I spotted lit torches in the distance and I moved closer, when I was close enough I saw boxes of steel armor and weapons as well as a few creates of of the smoke bombs that had been used in the attack on Luna, but then I heard voices. "What do you mean try again, my wife is dead Rex?" A familiar voice asked as I took cover.

"It means what I said Five, try again, we need to capture Luna for this plan to work, only then can I take the throne for myself." A female voice said getting closer.

"What about Blueblood?" the voice I now knew as Five and who I guessed was more likely than not the husband of Pearl Shine, asked.

"He's an incompetent fool that will show his own uselessness when he's left alone, all we need to do is get Luna and wait for Equestria to tire of Blueblood's poor leadership skills and swoop in with a new monarch to replace him with me." Rex said the female voice being her's. Wait, Blueblood isn't involved, I guess I misjudged him, maybe he really is trying to help, in his own way at least, I still don't know how he pulled a Batman on me though, never mind, I'll just ask him later.

"And what are we going to do about that freak of nature that is responsible for my wife's death?" Five asked.

"The human, leave that to me, I've dealt with his kind many times before." Rex said and I raised an eyebrow at that. She's dealt with humans before? How, Twilight basically told me I was the first of my kind in this world that's confirmed to exist and not just be a myth.

"Well I hope you make it suffer." Five said in a clearly pissed off tone.

"Make no mistake he will, there something about him that reminds me of Him too much." Rex said as they rounded a corner and I couldn't hear them anymore. But who is this Him Rex was on about. Never mind I have to look around to find Twilight, Celestia and Cadence since this is clearly the most likely place to find them.

"Dragonbane, can you make me invisible?" I ask in thought.

"No, that is not one of my powers, but I do believe my brother Excelldrin can do that." Dragonbane said back.

"Well, can you at least watch my back?" I ask.

"Don't I do that anyway, I'm already on your back." Dragonbane said sarcastically.

"Less of the sass please." I say moving into the lit part of the catacombs as my vision returns to normal, I carefully sneak my way past a few others. but to my count, there's only ten of them including Rex, which means they started with eleven, this might not be as tough as I thought. I sneak around avoiding these guys rather easily checking each room until I find one with a cell and in the cell is Celestia and Cadence, but not Twilight, their awake and quietly talking to themselves with strange things on their horns and I quickly and quietly enter the room.

"Hey are you guys alright?" I ask quietly and they look at me.

"Blake what are you doing here?" Celestia asked quietly.

"Luna sent me to search the catacombs." I explain.

"Thank goodness, we're still in Canterlot." Celestia says under her breath.

"Where's Twilight?" I ask and Celestia and Cadence both look at me with shocked expressions on their faces.

"Twilight was also taken?" They both ask and I nod.

"We don't know, she wasn't here when we woke up." Celestia said as I unsheaved Dragonbane remembering that it's indestructible and used it to cut through the lock on the cage in a single swing, releasing Celestia and Cadence, I also used Dragonbane to cut the things off their horns, although I had to be very careful when I did.

"Thank you Blake." Cadence said when I was done and she hugged me for it, which made me feel a lot more fuzzy inside than it should have.

"We need to find Twilight." Celestia said as she left the cage. I agreed with this because who know what these A-holes are up to, so the three of us search for Twilight while avoiding the criminals which is way easier since Celestia and Cadence can fly and both of them are strong enough to carry me, even though I hate being man handled. We eventually come to a solid black crystal door that seems to give Celestia pause, but when we open it we find Twilight on the floor naked and badly beaten and covered in her own blood, both legs broken, and even her horn is broken, the sight of this pisses me off more than anything in my life up until now, I clench my fists so tight my finger nails draw blood from the palms of my hands as I grit my teeth hard enough to make my gums bleed, this rage I feel is over whelming and I feel something sruging up with in me, ready to explode to the surface.

"What's this intruders in my personal chambers." Rex says, and I know it's her from the voice alone as I turn around drawing Dragonbane with the absolute intent to kill as I take a two handed stance identical to one of Shining Armour's, fuck being like my father, this cunt hurt one of my friends and now she's going to pay.

"You'll pay for this." I say through gritted teeth.

"Don't mock me boy, I've faced better than you in the past." Rex said throwing her mask and cape to the side revealing a dark unicorn mare with a dark grey coat and jet black fiery main and tail with a curved red horn wearing a set of polished steel armor with a red cape attached.

"She looks like Sombra." Celestia said while holding Twilight.

"This is bad ant Tia, he's on the edge of losing control with rage." Cadence said but I was barely listening, the desire to kill growing within me even more by the second, I couldn't care less if that made me like my father, I want revenge. I was about to take a swing at her with Dragonbane when the sound of a gun shot pierced the air and Rex was hit, once, twice, three times, four, five.

"ROGUE NOW!!!" A mare wearing a....... vaultsuit shouts as the ceiling caves in and Rex is grabbed by another human with white hair and blue eyes that glow red as he throws her like a fucking rag doll into a wall with only one hand.

"Didn't I tell you, you can't run from me bitch, I'm Rogue Winters, the son of the man you killed in cold blood. I won't stop until you're dead and buried." The white haired man says stabbing a shovel of all things into the ground next to him before cracking his knuckles and seriously how much of a menace do you have to be to bring a shovel to a fight, was he planning on burring Rex or something ...Wait did he say his name is Rogue Winters, could he be my.

"Hey, was your dad's name Arthur Winters, brother of Marcus Winters?" I ask and Rogue looked back at me.

"How the fuck do you know that much about my family?" He asked, giving me a thousand yard stair with glowing red eyes, which is double effective if you didn't know.

"I'm Blake Winters, Marcus Winters is my father." I say and Rogue's eyes stop glowing as he smirks.

"So, your my Cuz huh?" Rogue asks.

"It seems so." I say, not really sure how to proceed.

"Oh, how touching, the first meeting of cousins, it's almost poetic that your first meeting shall be your last." Rex said with a sinister laugh.

"Speak for yourself Umbra, I'm finishing what you started when you killed my father." Rogue said, his eyes glowing red as red magical power flowed over his whole body like fire, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, my cousin was powering up like a Dragonball character, but not just any, he was powering up like the cannon Super version of Broly, gods why Broly, this was going to be a blood bath.

Fight Starts

Rogue flew at Umbra and shattered the shield she tried to put up with a left hook and quickly followed up with a right upper cut to the gut making Umbra vomit blood and then spin kicked her in the head, sending her crashing through a wall like it was nothing. Celestia looked at Rogue, speechless at his raw strength and over whelming power as he went after Umbra.

Blake being to pissed off to think straight followed his cousin with Dragonbane in hand ready to end the dark bitch once and for all. Umbra hit the floor hard bouncing three times before she stopped, as Umbra got back up Rogue ran at her at full speed and close lined her into a wall right in front of the other conspirators who all drew their weapons and moved to close in on Rogue, but Blake came up behind them and they turned their attention to him rather than the six foot four 290 pound 6% body fat mass of muscle, rage and legendary
magic currently beating Umbra to within an inch of her life.

Tome ran over to Princess Celestia and Cadence putting her lever action rifle on the ground next to Twilight as she began searching through her bag and quickly pulled out a small bottle of gold liquid that glowed slightly. "Use this Princess, its a phoenix potion." Tome said giving the potion to Celestia who quickly uncorked the bottle and poured the condense in to Twilight's mouth with an instant effect, healing her injuries and her horn as she suddenly woke up in a panic only to calm down at the sight of Celestia and Cadence.

"Thank you." Celestia said to Tome as the whole catacombs shook when Rogue fired a magic energy blast at Umbra.

"Any time Princess." Tome said with a smile.

"We need to get out of here before the catacombs collapse on top of us." Cadence said.

"WHY AM I NAKED!!!" Twilight shouted red-faced when she realized that her clothes were gone, but Tome helped again passing Twilight her spare Stablesuit that was still in a vacuum sealed plastic bag.

"Here, you can put this on." Tome said with a friendly smile as the catacombs shook again almost knocking Tome's glasses off.

"Thanks." Twilight said and quickly put the jumpsuit on zipping it all the way up."Who are you anyway?" She asked.

"I'm Tome, short for Spelltome." She explained.

Blake fought the conspirators with all the rage he had attacking without putting up any defense as his blue eyes started to flicker like a broken light bulb as a fiery blue aura of magic began to flicker over his body like a flame on the verge of being put out, all while the marks on his right arm stayed dark as he began to subconsciously tap into the Legendary magic of the Winters family, the same magic that Rogue was using to beat Umbra up. As the mares made their escape they saw Blake fighting like a demon ad the aura of power flickered over his body getting stronger.

Rogue threw Umbra into a wall and then tackled her through it using the skills he gained while playing Rugby with his old gang, as they burst through the wall, they came face to face with Celestia, Cadence, Twilight and Tome, Rogue glanced at them for a second his glowing red eyes putting the fear of God into them as he then grabbed Umbra by her right ankle and repeatedly slammed her into the ground from over his head before he then grabbed her by the head and dragged her face first through a wall as he ran leaving the four mares speechless at his unrelenting brutality and savagery.

Rogue then threw Umbra like a rag doll again and fired an attack at Umbra. "BIG BANG ATTACK!" Rogue shouted as he fired one of Vegeta's iconic attacks hitting Umbra with an explosive attack that blew a hole through the catacombs into the city above. The four mares were nearly blown away by the shock wave of Rogue's attack as Umbra jumped up to the Streets of Canterlot with Rogue in persute.

Blake finished up the remaining conspirators with little effort leaving them alive but too injured to get away before the guards came down to the catacombs to investigate the fighting. Blake ran past the Princess and the others and spotted that Twilight was back on her feet which calmed his own rage into a desire to beat Umbra for what she'd done to Twilight and he jumped clear out the hole that Rogue had made with the Big Bang attack, on the street he could see Rogue ahead of him avoiding carts, barrels and even ponies that were being thrown at him by Umbra as he closed the distance and Blake sheaved Dragonbane to avoid hurting any of the ponies as he quickly ran up be hind Rogue finding his speed had increased greatly. "Finally decided you want some of this as well Cuz?" Rogue asked as Blake caught up to him and they ran side by side at Umbra.

"Yeah, she's going to pay for what she did." Blake said as he had to dodge an entire building that Umbra had ripped up and thrown at them, but Rogue just charged through it and burst through the other side holding a mare and her baby in his arms that he put down safely in a fancy on the spot spin losing almost no speed as he kept running. "I didn't take you for the hero type." Blake said as he volted over a table outside of a cafe with one hand.

"I'm not, but I swore to my self I wouldn't let anyone else suffer by her hands." Rogue said finally just kicking off from the ground as he used his flight spell Lord of Skies Wingless flight and he pulled up from the street.

"WHAT THE HELL! you can fly?" Blake asked shouting at first.

"Yeah, if you ask nicely I'll teach it to you later." Rogue said as he did an aileron roll to the left to avoid another cart being thrown as he then charged his body with elemental power of lightning and shot forward as if he were lightning and actually looked like he turned into lightning as he close lined Umbra sending her flying into the ground before she could throw another pony.

"Wow, I've got'a learn that." Blake said as he stood next to Rogue as he landed.

"I have something that should put her down for good, but it might take two." Rogue said as he watched Umbra get up slowly.

"What is it?" Blake asked turning to face Rogue.

"It's called Fusion Elemental it's a powerful Super Saiyan like transformation I created using eleven fully mastered elemental powers and combining them with my magic." Rogue explained.

"Super Saiyan, shit I'm sold, sign me up." Blake said with a cocky smile and Rogue smirked.

"I thought you would say that, but fair warning, it's one hell of a power trip and it'll do a number on you're stamina after a short time." Rogue said with a more serous look in his eyes as they then changed color to bright metallic gold as Rogue's aura of power changed from red to silver and his white hair glowed as it stood up in a slicked back Super Saiyan style and changed color to bright metallic silver, when it did a massive rush of air nearly blew Blake away as nearby things that weren't nailed down were sent flying Rogue then offered his right hand to Blake like they were going to shake. Blake took Rogue's hand and he instantly felt a rush of power enter his body as his hair stood up like Rogue's and also turned Metallic silver along with his magic, but his eyes stayed blue because he never mastered the elemental powers.

"Wow, this is..." Blake said as he looked at the aura of silver energy now flowing over his body. "Incredible." he said after a pause.

"Look alive Cuz, the bitch is getting back up." Rogue said turning to face Umbra again as Blake followed suite and drew Dragonbane again and took a two handed stance. Umbra looked at the two Fusion Elemental in front of her and snarled like a beast at them as she formed two swords from black crystal.

"I'll put you're entire family down, when I'm done with you two." Umbra said pointing a sword at Rogue.

"Bring it bitch." Rogue said cracking his knuckles again, Umbra then lounged at Blake and Rogue using one sword to block Dragonbane as Black swung it at her cutting deep into the black crystal and another to parry a heavy punch from Rogue.

"YES! This is why I was made, to destroy evil, Blake don't hold back, this one is beyond forgiveness." Dragonbane roared in Blake's mind.

"No need to tell me twice Dragonbane, I got this." Blake said back in thought. Blake and Rogue pulled back from Umbra and began using the element of Light to attack at light speed, appearing as two silver strikes of light clashing with a shadow. Twilight, Celestia, Cadence, Tome and now Luna teleported to where the battle had moved to and saw Rogue power up into his Fusion Elemental form and share the power with Blake, they then watched in shock as the two attacked Umbra at light speed quickly moving her out of the city and on to the mountain side where they wouldn't have to hold back their power.

"What... what is that form they've taken?" Celestia asked almost unable to comprehend what she was seeing unfold before her own eyes as Blake and Rogue landed a double revers spin kick and pile driver combo that sent Umbra crashing into the side of the mountain making the whole thing shake.

"I don't know sister, we have never heard of this power before." Luna said watching Blake as he released a one handed Fusion Elemental Dragon Slayer wave at point blank range at Umbra that sent her into a brutal close line from Rogue that nearly tor her throat open.

"I... had no idea he was this strong." Tome said watching Rogue effortlessly gather a huge ball of elemental energy shrink it down into the palm of his hand and fire it like a laser at Umbra as she fell to the ground from the close line. "GO ON ROGUE, TAKE THAT CUNT OF A MARE OUT!" Tome shouted out of nowhere getting surprised looks form the Princesses and Twilight.
Rogue and Blake continued their tag team assault against Umbra until Rogue was behind her in the air and Blake was in front of her on the ground.

"BLAKE, FINISHING MOVE NOW!" Rogue shouted down to his cousin.

"RIGHT!" Blake shouted back.

"Fusion Elemental, Ka,me,ha,me..." Rogue said bringing his hands to the right side of his waist as he charged the attack.

Blake brought Dragonbane above his head in a two handed grip. "Fusion Elemental Dragon Slayer..." Blake said.

"Haaaaaaa!" Rogue said releasing the attack.

"Wave!" Blake said swinging Dragonbane down with everything he had, making the one he did yesterday look like drop in the ocean compared to this one. Umbra was taken off guard by the joint attack and was hit directly by both attacks, as the energy engulfed her body she was torn apart by the purifying energy of Fusion Elemental until there was nothing left of her but ash in the wind. After the attack Blake dropped out of Fusion Elemental as he passed out from using so much energy and stamina all at once and Rogue dropped down to the ground and caught Blake and Dragonbane before they hit the ground.

"Nicely done Cuz, you've earned a nap." Rogue said carefully setting Blake down on the ground, Rogue then looked back towards the city and could see Celestia and Luna coming, who he didn't like in the slightest and he teleported away so that he wouldn't try fighting them next.

Fight Ends.

Thank god that's done, I was starting to get tired of these Canterlot chapters. I hope you all like this chapter and if you want to drop a comment, I try to respond as often as I can.

Chapter 7: Aftermath.

3 days later Blake's P.O.V

I slowly opened my eyes as I sat up on a bed, for a moment I didn't know where I was as my vision came back into focus, I shook my head a few times so I could see clearly again and realized that I was in the guest room at the Sparkle family mansion, when I looked to my left I could see Dragonbane had been placed up against the wall and that my shoes were by the bed. I look down at my hands as I remember what happened before I passed out. "Did I really do that stuff?" I say to myself quietly as I feel something rising within me and a deep blue flame like aura ignites on my right hand. I then twist my arm slightly and see that the marks on my arm aren't glowing which means this isn't Dragonbane, it's me. The energy then disappears as I look at the door as it creeps open and Spike sticks his head in.

"Blake, your awake." Spike said as he came in and walked over to the bed, as I got off and put my shoes back on.

"Yeah, I feel like a train hit me though." I say standing up before I walk over to the wall and pick up Dragonbane before putting it on. Seriously I know Rogue said that that knockoff Super Saiyan form of his was going to do a number on me but this is ridiculous, I felt sore all over.

"Come on, let's go. Everypony has so many questions." Spike said walking over to the door.

"They aren't the only ones." I say as I follow him out of the guest room and down stairs to the kitchen as he goes through the door I hear voices, it sounds like Twilight and her family.

"Spike, is he awake?" I heard Twilight ask as I walked in.

"Ask me yourself." I say crossing my arms while giving them a cocky look.

"Blake." Twilight says running up to me and hugging me catching me off guard with the unexpected display of affection, all while her parents laughed at my expense and Shining Armour gave me the over protective big bro look.

"I'm fine." I say managing to pry Twilight off of me. "I just needed some rest to get my stamina back is all." I explain.

"You had us worried after the first day." Twilight said wiping a tear away. and damn I actually felt a prick of pain when I saw her crying.

"Blake." Velvet said."

"Yes." I say looking at the older mare who was passable for the same age as her daughter, honestly do ponies age different or something.

"Thank you, you swore to us you'd get our girl back and you did, thank you." Velvet said hugging me this time with Night Light joining in.

"We're in your debt Blake, thank you." Night Light said.

"Can't breath." I thought to myself as they hugged me.

"Twilight get the thing." Spike said as Twilight's parents hugged me for an awkwardly long while.

"Oh, right." Twilight said leaving the room to get something. Luckily for me Velvet and Night Light released me after that and I was able to breath again, thank god, I get that their grateful but there's no need to almost choke me. Twilight then came back holding a square box about a foot wide and two feet long.

"The Princesses wanted to thank you personally, but with the failed kidnapping they are too busy getting things under control, so they decided to get you this instead." Twilight said handing me the box.

"I didn't help for a reward, I helped because it was the right thing to do." I say, looking at the box and feeling guilty for Pearl Shine's death again feeling the weight of her life on my shoulders, as I contemplate everything that happened.

"Hey, stop feeling sorry for yourself." Shining says getting my attention as I look at him. "Because of you Princess Luna was able to avoid capture and you helped save Princess Celestia after that, Your a hero Blake, don't let anypony tell you otherwise." He added.

"You... think I'm a hero?" I ask looking at him stunned, I don't even know what to say, he thinks I'm... a hero.

"Yes, you didn't just save the Princess, you saved so many more lives than you can imagine by defeating that evil mare." Shining explained.

"He's right you know. you and that other guy were like superheros right out of a comic book with that silver haired form you guys used." Spike said, looking at me.

"Blake." Twilight said putting a hand on my shoulder and I looked at her. "You've earned this." She says placing a hand on top of the box, I look around the room and get nods from everyone I look at and I can't help but smile, so this is what family feels like. I put the box on the kitchen counter and open it finding a blue jacket of some kind inside along with a letter that reads.

"Dear Blake.
We wish we could thank you in person for what you've done for us but we hope this gift will suffice.
Yours sincerely Princess Celestia and Luna.
P.S
It's enchanted to give high level magic resistance while being warn, and it's machine washable."

I lift the jacket out of the box and find, it's not a jacket, it's a blue trench coat that looks just shorter than ankle length with a white stripe down each arm and both sides of the zip with two white horizontal stripes on the collier and grey fur at the wrists. I look at it for a second as it reminds me of my father's black trench coat but at the same time the brighter blue color makes me think about my blue energy and Dragonbane's blue energy and how Rogue's energy is red. So I take Dragonbane off my back and put the trench coat on then put Dragonbane back on, finding it very light and comfy with six pockets on the inside. "How dose it look?" I ask.

"It suits you." Shining and Spike say at the same time and then laugh with each other.

"The clothes make the stallion, as they say." Night Light says with an approving smile.

"It makes you look like quite the gentle colt." Velvet said as she leaned on her husband.

"I... I think you just found your look Blake." Twilight said looking at me with a blush and a sincere smile.

"You really think so?" I ask, getting nods back from every one. "I guess I'm keeping it on then." I say with a cocky smirk.

"Wow, just look at you, the mares will be lining up to get a piece of you with that on, Me included." Cadence said coming into the kitchen.

"Sorry, I don't brake the Bro code." I say winking at Shining Armor and he nods back.

"Not even a little?" Cadence asked clearly messing with me.

"Never, Bros before hoes." I say crossing my arms with a smug look and we all laugh for a good long while. I then notice Spike look at the clock on the wall.

"Twilight, we need to leave now if we want to get back to Ponyville before sundown." Spike said pointing at the clock.

"Oh, your right Spike." Twilight said hugging her parents, brother and Cadence before grabbing my hand and rushing me to the door, once we were outside we ran to the train station, only to wait 45 minuets for at train that was delayed. On the ride home Spike fell asleep next to me looking out the window and I just watched the land roll past, stopping every now and then to pick up and drop off passengers. It was almost sundown when we got back to Ponyville, only to find the others waiting for us on the platform.

"Twilight, Blake, Spike, welcome home." They all said together catching us all in a group hug, and I'm telling you one of them pinched my butt, I don't know who but it was one of them, I'm going to rule Spike out because he only has eyes for Rarity, so it's got to be one of the six.

"Girls, it's good to be home." Twilight said as me and Spike escaped the group hug only to get pulled back in by Pinkie, after a while the hug was let go.

"Oh my darling, where did you get that coat, it matches you're eyes perfectly?" Rarity asked, but I didn't answer, seriously fuck that bitch, I haven't forgotten how she nearly tore my arm off with magic, well at least the playing field is level now, what with my end of the Winters family power now awakened.

"So, ya'll saved the Princesses from a kidnapping?" Apple Jack asked, placing her hends on her hips while giving me an impressed look.

"More like Blake and some stranger delt with it in some sliver haired form I've never seen before. " Spike said as the girls looked at me as if I was going to transform.

"Really, you can transform to?" Pinkie asked suddenly powering up into super pinkie 5 as party canons went off everywhere and ponies started partying, except me because my mind just shut down for the next few hours as the mega party went on.

Chapter 8: Slice of Life

We've been back in Ponyville for two days now and the news has finally come down from Canterlot about what happened there and that whole mess with Umbra and the nobility plotting a cue on the Princesses, of course everyone in this small town now knows I was involved in stopping what happened. Needless to say the girls that weren't there immediately started showering me with questions about what happened and who Rogue was as we all sat under a tree, all except Pinkie, she didn't ask anything, it was weird, kinda like she knew something. It took me a while but I eventually got through their questions only for the most unexpected thing to happen.

"Blake Winters?" A grizzled old male voice asked, getting closer. I turned to see who it was and the girls also look, and we see an old stallion wearing a military style uniform, he had graying brown fur and his mane and tail have all ready gone fully grey.

"Yes." I say looking over at the old stallion with a confused look.

"I am former Major Broadsword, and as of O'six hundred tomorrow, I will be your mentor in swordsmanship. I expect to see you out side town hall at 06:00 hours on the dot." The old stallion said before leaving. The girls started to mutter among themselves while I just watched the old coot walk away, I didn't know this was going to happen, but I guess a certain Princess might have something to do with this.

"What was that about?" Rainbow asked as she lazily flew over to me.

"You heard him, he's apparently here to teach me swordsmanship starting tomorrow." I say crossing my arms as I lean back against the tree while the girls sit on a pick nick blanket looking at me except for Twilight, she knew that I actually didn't know a thing about using a sword from when I met the Princesses a few days ago.

"Hold up, I thought you knew how to use a sword." Applejack asked with a raised eyebrow. To be honest I couldn't blame her for thinking that since I acted like I knew what I was doing before.

"I was just bluffing before, the truth is I've never even touched a sword before Dragonbane." I confessed and again the girls looked shocked.

"Really, you don't know how to use a sword?" Rarity asked and I ignored her as was the habit I'd taken to doing ever since she almost tore my arm off. Seriously, fuck that bitch, if I had to choose between a rash on my balls and saving her life, I'd take the rash any day.

"Why are you ignoring Rarity, Blake?" Fluttershy asked softly, and thank fully it wasn't a whisper when she spoke this time. I how ever said nothing and took my blue trench coat off and then rolled the left sleeve of my white t-shirt up and pointed at the scar on my shoulder with out saying anything before rolling the sleeve back down and putting my coat back on. "Oh right, I forgot about that." Fluttershy said turning away with an embarrassed blush.

"So, I guess your going to be a real Warrior starting tomorrow." Pinkie said with a mischievous look on her face, and I couldn't tell if it was because she wanted to pull a prank on me or something else.

"I guess." I said as I gave the pink mare a cautious glare.

"Well, at any rate your in good hands, Broadsword was Princess Celestia's personal body guard for over sixty years before he retired, and he's won countless competitions and titles for his skill with a sword." Twilight explained as she glanced in my direction before returning to a book she'd brought.

"And how do you know that old stallion Twi?" Applejack asked. I didn't care too much, but I guess I wanted to know as well.

"Broadsword was still Celestia's body guard when I became her student, so I've known him since I was a Philly.

"So, what if that old guy is good with a sword, I'll bet he's not as good at fighting as the Wonderbolts." Rainbow said in a cocky tone which annoyed everyone else except me, mainly because I have no idea who the Wonderbolts are.

"Actually, he's better than them with both hands behind his back, blindfolded." Twilight said matter of factually.

"SAY WHAT!" Rainbow shouted getting into Twilight's face.

"Who do you think trained them in combat?" Twilight asked calmly and Rainbow looked at a loss for words, which to be fair doesn't take much. I then stopped leaning on the tree and walked back to town. "Where are you going Blake?" Twilight asked.

"For a walk, I need to stretch my legs." I say as I keep walking. I don't have anything against hanging out with the girls or anything, but all their girl talk was putting me to sleep, maybe I can meet a few of the guys from around Ponyville and hang out with the guys. I spent better part of half an hour walking around town keeping an eye out for any stallions I might have some common interests with, it was wishful thinking, but I'd rather not be stuck with the mares all the time, just look at what it's done to Spike, he's a good guy and all, but when it comes to women or mares I guess he's a total blue pill beta male, and I'd like to have some friends that I can call the bros.

As I walked down one of the streets I couldn't help but notice that every pony who was going about their own business seemed to be more friendly than they were before what happened in Canterlot a few days ago, I guess the newspaper really did spread the news quick of how I helped save Princess Celestia from some nasty scheme before it happened. "Hey." A voice called out as a rather pathetic nerdy looking stallion walked over to me, jeez I know I said I wanted some guy friends to hang out with, but this isn't what I had in mind. "Hey your the human right?" he asked as he got closer and I really didn't have patience for this guy, it wasn't even his fault, his voice was just getting on my nerves.

"Yeah, I am." I say being very short with him.

"Oh my Celestia, Lyra was right, you really are human, no fur, no tail, small eyes, hair on top of the head, taller than the average pony, greater upper body musculature. You sir are a fine specimen." The pony said and I turned my back on him to walk away. "Stand offish, a clear behavioral trate linked to aggression, fascinating." The pony said getting on my nerves quickly as he followed me.

"FUCK OFF!!!" I shouted at the pony as I looked back at him and he backed off, good. I don't know what was up with that guy, but he really got on my nerves. After I took a breath to calm myself, I started walking the streets again until I ended up in the market, as I passed the stalls I noticed that there was a big red stallion with blond hair and tail wearing a red check shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots selling apples from the stand where Applejack usually sold apples, so that must be her brother Big Mackintosh, If I meet her little sister now, I would have more or less met the whole family. I might as well introduce myself, besides he might work as a guy friend, so I walked over to the stall.

"Howdy, can I interest you in some fine apples, Picked e'm fresh this morning myself." He said with a deep voice.

"So, your Applejack's brother right?" I ask.

"E'yup, that's right I'm Big Mackintosh Apple." He said with pride.

"I'm Blake Winters, I know your sister." I say back and he gives me a look of recognition.

"Blake? AJ has mentioned you a few times over the last week, it's good to put a face to the name." Big Mack said offering a hand for me to shake and I took it gladly, and let me tell you he has one strong shake, if Dragonbane wasn't giving me a passive strength boost, he might have crushed my hand.

"So, they have you, on the front lines to day?" I ask as we end owe hand shake.

"E'yup, it's AJ's day off and Apple Bloom is too young to work the stand." Big Mack explained.

"Cool, ...So, I'm kinda new around here, do you know where a guy can chill with other guys?" I ask and he gives me a thoughtful look for a moment before smiling.

"E'yup, I sure do, there's a place I know where a few of the stallions go every now and then to get away from the mares." Big Mack said crossing his arms. "I'll show you some time." He said and I nodded.

"Thanks, I'm starting to feel a little choked being around mares all the time." I say taking Mack up on his offer.

"Just let me know when your ready, and I'll show you the spot as long as I'm not working." Big Mack said.

"I will." I said, and then I left him to his work, as I kept walking through the streets I noticed a record shop and decided to check it out, I'd never been in a record shop before but I had to say this one was pretty lit, gold records hung from the back wall by the till along side guitars, drum sets were in the window and there were thousands of vinyl records to choose from, not to mention that the whole shop had an upbeat and energetic song playing in the back round. It was pretty cool in the shop and I took my time to look around, I didn't recognize any of the artists or bands, but I'm sure they can't be that bad.

"Found something you like, or are you looking for something more... collectible?" A female voice asked from behind me. I turned around and my jaw almost dropped at the sight of a mare that looked like a Rule 63'd Shining Armour wearing a sleeveless black crop top vest with blue ascents and jean short shorts with black boots and fishnet stockings.

"I'm just looking for now." I said, if I didn't know Twilight was Shining's sister I might have thought this mare was his twin or something, I mean seriously the resemblance is uncanny.

"Well, just let me know if you need anything." She said giving me a wink from under her sunglasses as she went behind the register. Ok, I'm not blind, what is it with mares always blushing, winking and blowing kisses at me, they can't actually be interested in me, can they. I think I'm just going to go back to my room at the library, before anymore mares make a pass at me. Besides, I have an early start to morrow, and I'd rather not be groggy tomorrow.

Chapter 9: Training Begins Now!

I woke up early around 5AM to meet Broadsword at town hall at 6AM, I had to borrow Twilight's alarm clock to get up at the right Time, good thing she didn't need to get up until later in the morning, after I got up and dressed I left my trench coat behind and took Dragonbane. leaving around 05:30 I reached town hall with about ten minuets to spare and waited for Broadsword to show up, I waited an hour before Broadsword showed up. "Good, your punctual at least." Broadsword said as he showed up an hour late.

"I've been waiting an hour." I say with an annoyed look.

"I know, that was my plan." Broadsword said as he stood with his hands behind his back.

"Say what, So you wasted my time for nothing?" I ask as I stood up from the steps.

"I don't waste time, I was seeing if you were serious about getting trained, some pony who wasn't serious would have left before now." Broadsword explained and I guess he's got a point. "Now pick your sorry flank up, and march." Broadsword said like a drill instructor.

"Where?" I ask.

"Don't question me, just march." Broadsword said spreading his wings and began flying ahead of me leaving me no choice but to follow on the ground. Broadsword then proceeded to take me for a lap around Ponyville and the lake before stopping at a bench. "Not bad colt, now give me five more laps by yourself." He ordered not even giving me a chance to catch my breath. "And leave the sword here, I'll keep an eye on it." He said as I started running again already out of breath and dripping with sweat, so I left Dragonbane with him and made a start on the next five laps. After another three hours I finished the five laps and came back to the bench where Broadsword was waiting. "Good, took you long enough, now pick up your sword and follow me." Broadsword ordered and I picked up Dragonbane and followed him. I followed Broadsword for another hour on a route that I was sure he made longer than it needed to be, we eventually stopped at a house on the edge of Ponyville that had a very big garden, Broadsword landed and I stopped just behind him, huffing and puffing as I tried to catch my breath. "Now we start the hard stuff." Broadsword said as he looked at me.

"You mean that wasn't the hard stuff?" I ask as sweat drips from my brow.

"No, that was just the warm up, now put your sword down and follow me." Broadsword ordered as he went around the back of the house and I followed him after I put Dragonbane down on the porch. around the back of the house was a full blown military obstacle course.

"Holy shit." I say looking at the course in front of me, only for the old geezer to slap me on the back of the head.

"AAH, what was that for?" I ask bringing a hand to the back of my head.

"I don't want to hear you using that kind of language around me, understand." Broadsword said with a stern look.

"Ok." I say and he throws a vest jacket at me and it weighed a lot almost knocking me over with the weight of it.

"Now put that on and get started." Broadsword said and I had no choice but to put it on and get started on the obstacle course, I was at it all day until sundown, by the Time Broadsword let me go back to the library, I felt like I was going to die and my whole body ached and the worse part was that, I had another four days of the same ahead of me for the next three months before Broadsword would even teach me about wooden swords. Needless to say, I was fucked and Broadsword was going to kill me with his training regiment, I think I'd rather spend a day with my father than this, as I walked through town in the dying light of day I couldn't help but notice that Lyra was stalking me from behind a tree.

"You know I can see you right?" I ask looking at the tree with a green tail sticking out from behind it.

"Damn, how did you know I was there?" Lyra said stepping out from behind the tree.

"Your tail was sticking out." I explain. I really don't want to deal with her of all ponies right now, I'm tired sweaty and very hungry, she can honestly fuck off.

"You know all it takes is one letter to the Princess about you being a dangerous creature and then your all mine to study." Lyra says with a cocky smirk.

"Do you even read the news paper?" I ask seemingly catching her off guard.

"Huh, why would I need to read a news paper." Lyra asked with a confused look.

"Because, I've already met the Princesses." I say with a smirk and Lyra loses all of her confidence but tries not to show it.

"This isn't over, You'll be mine one day." Lyra says walking away.

"Yeah, yeah keep dreaming." I say as she turns the corner of the street mumbling to herself. I ended up getting back to the library just as the moon started to rise. "I'm back." I say as I come through the door and close it behind me.

"Blake your back, you've been gone all day." Twilight said coming from the kitchen.

"Yeah, that old coot Broadsword worked me to the bone today." I say as I take Dragonbane off and opened the door to the basement, I went down put Dragonbane by the bed and grabbed some fresh underwear a towel and my PJ's as I go for a shower. Once I had a shower I decided to sit down in the living room that doubled as the main room of the library with all the book shelves.

"Damn Blake, You look ready to keel over." Twilight said.

"Don't go there Twi, I feel like hell right now." I say as Spike brings me a cup of tea, even though I didn't ask for it. "Thanks Spike." I say taking a sip of the... hot coco, not bad little man, not bad at all.

"Don't mention it." Spike said walking back to the kitchen.

"So, what did you learn today?" Twilight asked in an excited tone.

"Nothing, he had me working on my strength and endurance all day, with a 50 kilogram weight on my back." I say taking another sip of my hot coco.

"When's he going to start teaching you swordsmanship?" Twilight asked sitting next to me.

"He said he was going to work on my strength and stamina before he teaches me anything about swordsmanship." I explain as I put my cup down on the coffee table.

"Really, your that badly out of shape?" Twilight asked in a mocking tone.

"No, but I think Princess Celestia might have told him about how the Dragon Slayer Wave uses my stamina, and he wants to build my stamina so I can use it more." I say leaning back in my seat.

"You think so?" Twilight asked scooting a bit closer to me.

"Yeah, that's the only thing that makes sense." I say as Twilight gets a bit closer again. "Is something up?" I ask, making Twilight stop.

"No." Twilight says with a blush.

"Then why are you getting closer?" I ask looking at Twilight and she started blushing like crazy.

"I... I..." Twilight tried to say as her blush got deeper, but she didn't look away. "Can... can I kiss you?" Twilight asked, looking at me completely red faced, I froze at her words even as she leaned in towards me slowly. Now it was my turn to blush, I don't know what to say, what should I say, Yes, no, maybe later, what do I say damn it. Unfortunately for me I never got to give an answer before Twilight gently pressed her lips against mine for a few seconds before silently pulling away with a heavy blush on her face as she looked away. I also blushed, and I was lost for words as Twilight went back up stairs while trying not to look at me, I ended up getting up and going to my room, I really need to think.

"Damn, I need to get some rest, I can think about this later." I say quietly as I go back to my basement room to get some sleep before tomorrow.

Chapter 10: The Gala

It has been a few months since I arrived in Equestria after an unexpected meeting with an old friend from school, with in my first few weeks I found a magic sword called Dragonbane and after that I helped save the Princesses from a kidnapping plan plotted by the nobility with help from my cousin Rogue, I haven't seen him since then but I know he's out there somewhere. At any rate Twilight and the girls have been getting ready for a big party at the castle in Canterlot tonight, meanwhile I've been training with Broadsword, Celestia's retired body guard all day, I also had an invite to the Gala, but I don't plan on going because Broadsword's training always leaves me tired and sore by the time he let's me go at the end of the day. "And that'll do for to day." Broadsword said stopping my training four hours earlier than usual.

"What, It's a bit early?" I ask dripping with sweat as I take the training weight off and place it on Broadsword's back porch.

"You have been invited to the Grand Galloping Gala along side young miss Sparkle and her friends, there for I am releasing you early." Broadsword said going back to his house.

"But I didn't plan on going." I say as Broadsword looks at me.

"It's non negotiable, now get, you have a party to get ready for." Broadsword said going into his house, locking the door behind him. Well shit, I guess I have to go to this Gala thing now, but I don't have anything to wear, so I solemnly walk back to town. Once I get back to the library I found Twilight and the others ready to leave in their dresses.

"Blake, Your back early." Spike said.

"Yeah, Broadsword let me go early because I was invited to the gala." I explain.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Spike said all dressed up for the gala.

"Blake, I didn't know you were coming." Twilight said as the girls looked at me.

"Neither did I until Broadsword let me go early." I say in response as I drop Dragonbane off by the door.

"Well it's a good thing I made you a suit then." Rarity said holding a suit up in a dry cleaning bag. I really didn't want to take it but I didn't have anything else to wear.

"How did you even get my sizes?" I ask.

"Twilight gave it to me when we got our invites." Rarity said with way to much enthusiasm.

"Whatever I guess, I'm not going." I said walking back to my basement room not caring about the protests and whiling of the girls.

"Oh come on, it'll be super fun." Pinkie said quickly grabbing me by the wrist to stop me.

"No, I made my mind up weeks ago when the tickets arrived." I say pulling my arm free as I open the door to my basement room thinking I'd settled the matter, but I ended up walking face first into a magic barrier and had to take a step back.

"Oh no you don't." Twilight said using her magic to make the barrier and then swap my clothes with the suit in the dry cleaning bag with a smug look on her face. I'm not going to lie that got on my nerves, I mean I had no intention of going from the start and here Twilight is more or less forcing me to come along.

"Since when could you do that?" I asked seeing the clothes I had been wearing neatly folded pop out of nowhere and on to the couch.

"You look smashing darling." Rarity said looking at me in the same way a hungry lion would regard a piece of meat, so I threw off the suit jacket and put my blue trench coat back on over my black shirt and silver waist coat if only to spite Rarity, I still haven't forgiven her yet even though she and Applejack have already served the 500 hours of community service they were given for attacking me when I first arrived in Equestria.

"Fine, I'll come, but I'm bringing this coat and Dragonbane." I say not too happy that that I have to go along, but the girls all seem to be taking it as some kind of victory, I'll let them have it for now, but if they think I'm going to hang out with them when we get there, they have another thing coming. After about half an hour the carriage arrived and the girls got in while I sat up front with Spike, it took about two hours to get to Canterlot from Ponyville and I honestly, I didn't know what to expect, so imagine my shock when we arrived and everyone broke out into a musical number again, even Spike joined in while I watched on speechless, seriously how do ponies do that and sing in perfect harmony as if they rehearsed.

As I walked into the castle behind the girls I showed the guards at the door my invite and they didn't say anything about me bringing a sword to this Gala, I guess they must have been expecting me. As soon as we get in the girls all went their separate ways leaving me and Spike alone, but it doesn't take long for Spike to wander off leaving me alone in a room filled with some of the most influential Ponies in Equestria. "Oh joy, I get to mingle with the upper class snobs." I say under my breath, getting a dirty look from a nearby mare, but I don't care enough to say or do anything so I just went to the garden not even bothering to go and speak with Princess Celestia, even as Twilight waved me over.

"What nonsense, an utter waste of time if ever i saw one." Dragonbane said in my mind.

"Nice of you to pipe up, I was starting to think you'd lost your voice." I say back in thought as I pass some guests.

"Whatever, I didn't want to come anyway." I think back only to get no response from Dragonbane.

"Hi, it's Blake right?" A female voice says behind me, and I turn to see who it is. To my surprise it was the mare who was with Rogue when he showed up during the whole kidnapping thing, Tome I think her name was.

"Uh... Tome?" I ask hoping I got it right.

"That's right, I know your cousin, Rogue." Tome said as she stood next to me wearing a nice dark blue dress that showed off her curves nicely, wait no, bad Blake, don't think about that stuff. "You know, you kind of look like him." she said as she leaned in to get a better look at my face.

"Really?" I ask nervously, taking a step back.

"Yep, there's a familial resemblance." Tome said with a wide smile.

"So, uh, what are you up to these days?" I ask, to be honest it has been on my mind what she's been up to.

"I now work in the castle library now, I'll be taking over as head librarian in two years when Lotus Dust retires." Tome explained with a happy smile, and I was happy that she was happy with this outcome. "So uh, you know Rogue?" I ask, genuinely curious about my cousin, since i never actually got to speak to him.

Tome brightened at my question and she seemed to become excited. "yes, I knew him, He saved my life once." She said happily then looked away. "And... I shot Him in the butt, left cheek." Tome said embarrassed, the way she looked away was cute, like a school girl confessing to her first crush.

"Seriously?" I ask, I mean, damn. She shot him, in the ass, and they still became friends.

"Yeah, I thought He was looting the bodies of my friends." Tome explained. I guess I can't blame her for that one.

"You came from a wasteland right?" I ask, remembering that detail about her.

"Well, no. I come from a stable, a kind of underground bunker meant to preserve Equestria and it's people, but not all of the stables did." Tome said, and she looked away, giving me major Vault Tec vibes, like a Fallout game.

"Really? What was that like?" I ask, I was actually very curios.

Tome looked away. "I'd rather not talk about it." She said lookin away, I could tell it was a sore topic, so I left it.

"So uh, d-do you want a drink?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"I'll take a bottle of Wild Pegasus if you have it, ...Make that two bottles." Tome said with a seductive wink that made me think that she had tried this on Rogue and failed.

"I'm not sure if they have that." I say, scratching the back of my head.

"It's ok, I brought something from the Penderyin brewery." Rogue said holding a bottle of whisky.

I looked at him for a few seconds. "Rogue!" Tome shouted, warping her arms around his neck as she pulled him into a hug, I couldn't believe it, there he was, like a ghost stepping out of a shadow.

"Hey, get off Tome, you know I don't do that mushy stuff." Rogue said throwing Tome off of him.

"Sorry Rogue, it's just, I didn't think I would see you again." Tome said, I couldn't blame her for being surprised, I was surprised too.

"How are you here? no one was able to track you down after what happened with Umbra." I ask, feeling like there had to be a reason He was showing up now.

Rogue seemed to pause as he thought of what to say. "...I'm not a lap dog Blake, I don't let others tell me what to do, and I sure as shit won't be found if I don't want to be." Rogue said, his aggressive tone catching me off guard, I didn't think he would be like this. "Look Blake, I know I left pretty quick last time, but we need to talk at some point, somewhere where these ponies aren't going to interrupt or but in. No offence Tome." He said looking at Tome for a moment.

"Some taken." Tome said with a shrug.

"Sassy bitch as ever I see." Rogue said with a smirk.

"Oh Rogue, you can take the Stable mare out of the wasteland, but you'll never take the wasteland out of me, ...not after everything that happened." Tome said with a sorrowful look, like she was regretting a few things.

"Blake, are you out here." Twilight called.

"Shit, I'm out." Rogue said turning to leave, as he tossed a bottle of whisky to Tome. "Found it in my duffle bag, you like it more than I do." Rogue said vanishing in a flash of red light.

"Wild Pegasus, my favorite." Tome said with a smile as she tucked the bottle away into her purse.

"Blake, there you are." Twilight said walking over. "Oh it's you again, Tome, right?" She asked looking between the two of us.

"Uh... yes, It's Tome. It's nice to see you again Twilight." Tome said, giving Twilight a respectful bow. I couldn't blame her, from what I understood Twilight and the others were big shots in the timeline Tome came from, so being around them must have been surreal for her in ways I couldn't imagine.

"It's nice to see you again as well Tome." Twilight said turning to me. "Come on Blake, the Princess should be done seeing the guests soon, I'm sure she'll want to see you." She said taking my hand to pull me along, but I didn't budge.

"Twilight, no. I'm talking with Tome." I say refusing to move, Rogue's words about being a lap dog playing in my mind, as I realise that up until now I've been rolling over and doing everything Twilight and the Princesses want, without setting any boundaries.

Twilight looked at me for a moment, she clearly wasn't used to me putting my foot down, and that was my fault, I never set any boundaries. "But the Princess." Twilight said, doing that puppy eye thing to try and get me to cave.

"If the princess wants to see me that badly, I'm sure she'll send someone to find me." I say pulling my hand free from Twilight's grasp.

"Finally decided to grow a backbone? A little late don't you think." Dragonbane said in my mind, speaking to me for the first time in a while.

Twilight hesitated for a second. "...Oh, right. Sorry, I'll find you if the Princess wants you." Twilight said her ears folding back as she left with a sad look, it honestly killed me inside to be so blunt, but I need to establish some kind of boundaries for myself, I also need to get a place of my own, where I can have some real privacy. After Twilight left Tome and I spent the rest of the Gala together, just talking, Tome even took me to her quatres in the castle and showed me her lever-action rifle, it was nice, 44.Magnum, a classic if ever there was one. Tome and I ended up having the bottle of whisky that Rogue had tossed her, to say we ended up well past pickled would be an understatement, turns out it's a bad Idea to mix free wine and 200 year old whisky, because Tome and I ended up passing out in her room, and no, we didn't have drunk sex, we just passed out with a dribble of whisky left in the bottle.
