It was a stormy day in the city of Pork Belly, and Spike, Dukey, and Johnny can be seen in Johnny's room playing a video game, Samurai Turbo.

“All right, we beat the boss.” Spike cheers as the screen flashes the words, You win.

“Which means we are onto the next level.” Johnny cheer. However, just as they were about to start the next levels, the room door opened, and in came Susan and Mary.

“Johnny, we need you to test….” Susan said, but was interrupted by Johnny.

“Whatever it is, I am not interested,“ Johnny said. ”I am busy playing my favorite game.”

“Oh really, so you are not interested in testing our latest invention, which is a video game helmet that allows its user to control the game with their mind.” Mary said.

“Video game helmet that can let you control the game with your mind.” Johnny said in an excited voice before he suddenly appeared in front of his sisters. ”Give me, give me, give me, give me, give me.”

“Then follow us,” Susan said as she and Mary left the room, and it wasn’t long before Johnny followed them. Both Spike and Dukey looked at one another for a moment before eventually following Johnny.

In the lab, Susan and Mary had placed a high-tech helmet onto Johnny, Dukey, and Spike's heads, and after placing the helmet on, Susan and Mary were now typing onto their lab computer.

“How much longer?” Johnny said impatiently.

“Calm down, Johnny. We just need to do a bit more adjustment.” Susan said as she and Mary continued to type onto the computer.

“There, done,” Mary said.

“By the way, why did you even make this?” Spike asked. ”This doesn’t look like the kind of thing you guys would make.”

“I agree with Spike.” Dukey said. "What do you guys gain from making this?”

“Well, if you must know, we are running out of funds for our research and invention.” Susan said. ”So we decided to make something that we can sell in the market to gain more profits to fund our research.“

“And after a bit of research, we discover that selling an advanced game controller that can improve a person's game experience can be quite profitable.” Mary said.

“How can you guys be out of money?” Dukey asked. ”Don’t you guys normally receive monthly funds from the science community?”

“We do, but our last invention cost a lot more than we originally thought.” Susan said. ”Anyhow, we have done the final adjustments, and now let the testing begin.” Mary clicked a button, and immediately the screen on the computer showed the game they were previously playing.

“Cool! We are trying this helmet on my favorite video game.” Johnny said happily.

“All right, everyone, you may start now.” Susan said.

“ All right.” Johnny said happily.”So how do I start the game?”

“The same way you are going to play it.Just use your thoughts.” Susan said.”Just think of starting the game, and the game will start.”

“Okay.” Johnny said as he used his thoughts to start the game. ”Alright, now let the game begin." Johnny, Dukey, and Spike then use their thoughts to move their characters and to attack the enemies that were in the game, and as they play the game, both Susan and Mary observe everything.

“Hmm, so far everything seems to be in working order.” Susan said as she wrote on a clipboard she was holding.

“If things continue to progress this smoothly, it will be safe to say that the experiment is a success.” Mary said.
….
From outside the house, as the storm continues to pour water over the city, a lightning bolt hit the TV antenna.
….
Back in the lab, the computer began to malfunction as static began to form on the computer screen.

“Hey, what’s going on?” Johnny said before three bolts of lightning came from the computer and hit all three boys, and before Mary and Susan knew it, all three boys disappeared.

“Johnny, Dukey, Spike.” Mary said as she and Susan looked around at the spot the three boys were previously standing on. ”Where did they go?" Susan then turned to look at the computer and saw the static was clearing up, and once the static cleared up, she saw something that shocked her.

“Look.” Susan said as she pointed to the screen, and immediately after she did that, Mary turned to see that the screen now showed all three boys were not only in the game but were also dressed as their game character.

“Johnny, Spike, and Dukey must have somehow ended up in the game.” Mary said in shock,

“That’s not good.” Susan said.

….
“What happened?” Spike said as he looked around to see that they were in what looked like a deserted ancient Japanese town. ”And where are we?”

“And why are we dressed in these clothes?” Dukey said as he saw that he and his two friends were now dressed as samurais, complete with swords around their waists.

“Wait, I recognize this place.” Johnny said as he looked around.”This is the first level of Samurai Turbo.”

“Wait, does that mean we are in the game?” Dukey said in surprise.

"I guess so," Johnny said. "Somehow we manage to end up in the game."

“Which shouldn’t be a surprise given our usual luck.” Spike said.

“What are we going to do?” Dukey said in a panic.

“Relax.” Johnny said.”Susan and Mary are still outside in the real world. They are probably working out a way to get us out as we speak. They no doubt have everything handled."
….
“ We don’t have everything handled.” Susan shouted as she and Mary began clicking on the computer buttons and trying to find a way to get the three out of the game. ”How did this even happen?”

“According to the data, it seems lightning struck the house antenna, which in turn caused the computer to malfunction and in the process drag all three, Spike, Johnny, and Dukey, into the game.” Mary said.

“We need to get them out as soon as we can.” Susan said.”Before something bad happened.”

“Relax, Susan, what’s the worst that could happen?” Mary said, and immediately, as if on cue, the words Level One appeared on screen, and shortly after they disappeared, what looked like a group of robot ninjas appeared on screen.

“You just have to jinx it, didn’t you?” Susan said.

“Me and my big mouth.” Mary said.
….
“Robot ninjas.” Dukey said in fear as he saw a group of robot ninjas had just appeared. ”What are we going to do?”

“Well, there's one thing to do in this situation.” Johnny said.

“Which is what exactly?” Spike asked.

“Which is to run.” Johnny shouted before all three ran for their lives, and shortly afterward the robot ninjas chased after them.

“So what’s the plan exactly?” Spike asks. ”You know, besides running.

“I am thinking.” Johnny said before a shuriken flew past Johnny's head.

“Well, think faster.” Dukey said as he dodged a shuriken.

“Hey, it isn’t easy to think up a plan.” Johnny said before suddenly a robot ninja appeared in front of him. The ninja quickly pulled out its sword and swung it at Johnny, who managed to successfully avoid it by doing a backflip over the ninja.

“Since when can you do that?” Spike asked before suddenly a ninja appeared in front of him and swung its sword at him. Acting quickly, Spike not only managed to dodge the sword by jumping into the air but also managed to be quick enough to pull out his sword and cut the ninja hat off.

“Wow.” Dukey said in shock.”How you did that.”

“I think when we were transported into the game, we didn’t just get our game avatar clothes; we also got our game avatar skills too.” Spike said.”Which means I can do this.” Spike then charged at a group of ninjas and quickly used his sword to tear through them.

“Wow.” Johnny said impressed with what he saw. ”My turn.” He then pulled out his sword and quickly joined Spike in fighting the ninjas, and it wasn’t long before Dukey joined them. It wasn’t long before the three made quick work of the ninjas.

“Woo hoo! We won.” Johnny shouted in joy, and it wasn’t long before both Dukey and Spike joined him.

“So what now?"Spike asked.

“We just wait until Susan and Mary get us out.” Johnny said.”Now let’s just sit back and….” Before he could finish what he was saying, a giant sumo robot landed on all three of them.
….
“Ahhhhh.” Susan and Mary shouted in shock when they saw what just happened.

“Johnny, Spike, and Dukey.” Mary shouted in fear before she and Susan saw the three boys suddenly respawn.
….
“Did we just die?” Johnny asked.

“I believe so.” Spike said before suddenly an icon that resembled their face appeared over their head. Next to the image was an X symbol next to a number. The number was three before turning into one.

“It seems we have three lives,” Dukey said.

“And I think it is in our best interest that we don’t lose our remaining lives.” Spike said.”Something tells me if we lose our last lives, we will die for real.”

“Then I suggest we do something before we lose all our lives.” Dukey yelled as he pointed to the giant sumo robot charging at them.

“Run.” Johnny yelled before he and everyone began running for their lives as the sumo robot chased after them. However, as their run spike suddenly spotted what looked like a floating trunk on top of a building.

"Look, a weapon trunk." Spike yells as he and everyone suddenly stop. "There might be a weapon in it that can help us."

"Good eye spike." Dukey said before he, Johnny, and Spike quickly jumped onto the building. As soon as they were on the building, Dukey quickly placed a hand on the trunk, causing it to disappear, and appearing in its place were three gold tokens. Each of the tokens has different images on them. One has an image of a bow, one has an image of a shuriken, and finally the last one has an image of nunchucks. Johny grabbed the one with the image of the bow, and immediately he had a bow and a quiver filled with arrows. Dukey grabbed the one with the image of a shuriken, and Spike grabbed the one with the image of nunchucks. After grabbing the token, Dukey was now holding a large shuriken, and Spike was now holding two nunchucks.

"Alright guys, let's use our new weapons to take this guy down." Johnny said.

"Way ahead of you." Dukey said before he threw the shuriken at the robot sumo head, cutting it off in the process. Once the robot head was cut off, both the robot head and body exploded, and shortly afterwards a large sign that said Level Clear appeared, and immediately after the sign appeared, a torii gate appeared under the sign.

"Well, it looks like it's time for level two." Johnny said as he, Spike, and Dukey jumped off the building and quickly ran through the gate. When the three exited the gate, they found themselves on what looked like an open path with countless Sakura trees lining both sides. However, before the three could discuss what they should do, robot samurai then jumped out of the trees.

“Looks like we have more enemies to deal with.” Johnny said.”So charged.” The three charge at the robot samurai, who in turn charge towards the three boys.
….
“yes, finally.” Mary said happily.”We finally found a way to get the boys out. All we have to do is get them to beat the final level, and once the game is defeated, it will automatically take them to the save file of the game."

"And from the save file we can digitize them into the real world." Susan said before she began typing on the computer.
....
"Another victory for us." Johnny cheered as he and Dukey took down all the robot samurai.

"Johnny, Dukey, and Spike, can you hear us?" Mary said as her voice echoed over them.

“Yes, we can hear you,” Johnny said. ”Get us out of here.”

“We are trying, but the only way to get you out of the game is by defeating it.” Susan said.

“Beat the game.” Spike said.”That’s easier said than done. We never actually managed to reach the last level before.”

“Then it must be a good thing we manage to find a shortcut.” Mary said.

“You found a shortcut.” Johnny said.”How you did that.”

“Internet.” Mary said,” You can find just about anything on the internet these days.”

“Oh,” Johnny said.

“Now let’s get you guys to that shortcut.” Susan said.

The three did what Susan and Mary said and continued to walk on the path until they were told to stop in front of a tree.

“Now cut down that tree.” Mary said, and immediately Johnny used his sword to cut down the tree to reveal a path that led to a torii gate.

“Now cross through that gate, and you will instantly arrive at the final level.” Susan said, and immediately all three boys quickly crossed through the gate, and immediately they found themselves in what looked like an arena.

“All right, we are at the final level now; we just need to defeat the boss, and we can go home.” Johnny said.”Which should be a piece of cake.” Immediately after he said that, a large four-armed mask samurai jumped into the arena. The samurai then pull out four large katanas.

“And I take it this must be the final boss of this game,“ Spike said. ”This guy looks tough.”

“Oh, don’t be such a worrywart.” Johnny said.”We can take this guy down.” Johnny then fires an arrow at the samurai, who uses one of its swords to block the arrow. Seeing that, Johnny fired another arrow and another arrow. However, no matter how many arrows he fired, the samurai was able to block each attack with ease until eventually Johnny ran out of arrows to fire.

“Ok, this might be harder than we thought.” Johnny said as he saw he was now out of arrows.

“Don’t worry, I got this.” Dukey said before he threw his large shuriken at the samurai, who just swatted it away. Dukey then turned to look at Spike. ”You turn spike.”

“Ah, right.” Spike then swung his nunchucks before running towards the samurai, who swung his katanas on Spike, causing him to explode in a burst of light. Spike then appeared next to Dukey and Johnny. He then looked up and saw that he had only one life left.

“That’s not good.” Dukey said before the samurai fires laser beams from his eyes. The laser beams hit Johnny and Dukey, taking their second life.

“We're down to our last lives, aren't we?” Johnny said.

“Yep.” Dukey said.

“In that case we should run now.” Spike said before he, Dukey, and Johnny run for their lives, and as soon as they run, the samurai quickly chase after them.
….
“We got to help them somehow.” Mary said.”But how?”

“Let’s check the internet.” Susan said as she and Mary began looking through the internet for information on the game final boss. After a bit of searching, they finally found the answer.

"Got it," Susan said. "According to this information we found, it seems that the boss has a weak spot located on his back."
....
Back in the game, the three boys were running for their lives when they suddenly heard Susan's voice.

"Guys, we discover the final boss's weakness." Susan said.

"Great! What is it?" Johnny asked as he, Spike, and Dukey continued to run for their lives.

"The final boss's weakness is that there is a gem on his back. If you make a direct hit, it will be an instant kill for him." Mary said.

"Great, but how are we going to do that?" Dukey said.

"Leave it to me, guys," Johnny said. "You guys keep him distracted while I try to hit the boss's weakness." Johnny then ran off, leaving the two to be chased by the samurai, who fired his laser beam at them. Luckily the two were able to dodge the attack before it hit them. However, this didn't stop the samurai as he continued to fire his laser beam at them over and over again. While they were busy running away from the samurai, Johnny quickly ran towards the shuriken that the samurai had swatted away earlier. He grabbed it and turned to look at the samurai, who was still chasing Spike and Dukey, and as the samurai continued to chase them, he left his back exposed, revealing the small gem on his back. Johnny aimed the shuriken, and once he was sure he got a clear hit, he quickly tossed the shuriken. The attack makes a direct hit on the samurai, causing it to explode in a burst of light. Large words that said You win appeared in the air.

"All right, we win." Johnny said as he cheered with Spike and Dukey. A torii gate then appears in the middle of the arena.

"All right, everyone, let's go home." Spike said before he, Johnny, and Dukey cross the gate.
....
"They did it." Susan said."Now let's get them out of there." The two sisters then type on the keyboard, and immediately a bright light appears in the middle of the room, and when the light dissipates, it reveals the three boys who were now out of the game.

"Finally we are home," Spike said happily.

"So what now?" Dukey asked.

"Well, it seems the rain has stopped." Susan said as she looked at the computer, which showed that the storm had stopped. "Maybe you can go out and do some outdoor activities."

"I could do that or..." Johnny said.
....
"I could play some more video games," Johnny said as he was in his room playing a video game. Behind him were Spike and Dukey, who just rolled their eyes before leaving the room.

Author's Note

Sorry for the late update, but it's not easy to come up with an original story. Anyhow, here's a little fun fact: this chapter was inspired by the Ben 10 episode game Over, where, like in this chapter, both Ben and Gwen got trapped in a video game.
