Godzilla x Kong: Guardians of Equestria

It's been almost 5 years since the Skar King's defeat, Godzilla had continued to fulfill his role as the guardian of nature by keeping the other titan's in check, and Kong had established his new kingdom in Hollow Earth. While Monarch kept their eyes on the titans on the surface, several researchers were sent down into Hollow Earth where they established a new outpost after the previous one was destroyed. Now in present day, the research team stationed in Hollow Earth continues to monitor Kong as he goes through his daily life as the ape's new king.

"How are things looking?"

"No abnormalities thus far,seems like it was just another normal day for King Kong," the researcher answered.

"As to be expected, ever since the incident with the Skar King things have been nothing but quiet, kinda getting boring to be honest,"

"Hey now Frank, no need to be a downer, at least we won't have to worry about getting eaten alive by some rouge titan," joked the researcher.

"You're not wrong there Danny," Frank chuckled as he poured himself a cup of coffee. As Danny spun around in his chair, the doors opened as a female researcher entered

"Hey Linda, something wrong?" asked Danny.

"Another one got the boot," Linda sighed as she threw a stack of papers on top of her work station.

"Oh great who is it this time?" asked Frank.

"Toby," answered Linda.

"Who?" asked Danny.

"You know, Tobias W. Hawthorne, crypto zoologist expertise and a head researcher of Monarch's Titan Division, I'm sure you've met him right?" asked Frank.

"Wait THAT Toby?" asked Danny.

"Apparently the director found out about his past affiliations with Apex," explained Linda.

"He was in on the Mechagodzilla shit!?" asked Danny.

"I wouldn't say that, nobody knows exactly if he really was involved in the creation of Mechagodzilla, what we DO know was that he was an ex-employee of Apex," explained Linda.

"And they let him go because of that?" asked Frank taking a sip of his coffee.

"Apparently," nodded Linda. "At least that's what the head of operations said,"

"Sounds like tough luck to me," Frank snickered.

"He was one of our best too," Danny sighed as he leaned back in his chair.

"Nothing we can do," said Linda. "By the way how's the big guy doing?"

"Just another normal day, honestly it's not really exciting if it's this quiet," said Danny.

"But it also means it's peaceful," says Linda as she walks over to the monitor. "Personally I want it to stay that-" she froze as she glanced at the screen,her smile melting off.

"Hm? what's up Linda?" Frank asked. Danny spun back around and glanced at the screen.

"What the hell?" Frank walked over to their side to see that one of the four aerial cameras had detected something.

"What is that?" asked Frank.

"Looks like another uncharted area," said Danny. The three stares in awe at the large red mass on the screen.

"Looks like it's located somewhere near Kong's lair," said Linda.

"Guys," Linda and Danny turns towards Frank as he pulls up a chair on another monitor. "I'm getting some strong readings, it's the same ones from the vortexes found in the Iwi's village,"

"You mean the one that Dr. Andrews found when they last came down here?" asked Danny.

"That's the one," answered Frank.

"And where's the readings coming from?" asked Linda.

"Hang on I'm working on it," Frank said as he began tapping away on the keyboard. "Found it, based on the location is seems to be part of the same uncharted area that the computer detected,"

"Is it another one of those vortexes?" asked Linda.

"Considering that the readings are identical it's safe to assume," answered Frank.

"Shouldn't we report this to Hampton as well?" asked Danny.

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to notify them about this, Frank can you try and reach her?" asked Linda.

"Working on it," he said as he tapped away on the keyboard.

Hollow Earth Access Point

Dr. Ilene Andrews quickly navigates through the facility as researchers and armed soldiers scramble about. As it turns out, the past few days, Godzilla had suddenly begun acting erratically despite no titans had emerged to challenge his authority and today was no different.

"Andrews," she turns around to see Hampton walking up to her. "

"Care to explain what the hell's going on this time?" Ilene asks.

"It's another one of his freakouts," said Hampton. "I don't understand,he's never been this upset but for some reason he's been getting pissed off for no reason lately,"

"Well there HAS to be a reason," said Ilene.

"Yeah and whatever it is, it's clearly powerful enough to set him off this much, not even Kong or Ghidorah pushed him to this level of anger," said Hampton. As the two entered the monitoring room responsible for keeping track of the titan's activities,she points to a researcher. "Talk to me,"

"Godzilla's currently making his way towards Loviisa, Finland," answered the researcher. "Whatever he's planning on doing it's clearly got him riled up,"

"Pull up the map, let's see," said Ilene. "The researcher does as instructed and pulls up a map of the location Godzilla was heading towards. "Oh shit,"

"It's a nuclear facility," said Hampton.

"The last time Godzilla targeted a nuclear facility he was absorbing power to prepare himself for the confrontation with the Skar King," said Ilene.

"So something similar is happening here?" asked Hampton.

"Most likely," said Ilene.

"Director Hampton, incoming call from Outpost 1," another researcher interrupted.

"Whatever it is, hopefully it's better news than what we're currently dealing with," said Hampton. The researcher answers the call as a man's voice rings out from the speakers.

"This is Frank from Monarch Observation team calling from Outpost 1 in Hollow Earth do you read?"

"Frank we read you, what seems to be the problem?" asked Hampton.

"No problems here ma'am, just that our computers have recently picked up on a strange reading from another uncharted area in Hollow Earth near Kong's and the great ape's lair,we have deduced that the readings are similar to the vortexes found in the Iwi tribe's village," explained Frank.

"Another Hollow Earth access point?" asked Ilene.

"Most likely," added Frank.

"Where does it lead?" asked Hampton.

"Our team has tried to figure it out, unfortunately it seems like our technology is struggling to figure that out,whatever is on the other side seems to be interfering with our equipment, however we do know that there is some form of life as they're picking up on heat signatures, but this mysterious energy source from the other side is making it difficult to figure out what exactly they are," explained Frank.

"Mysterious energy source, is that what's causing Godzilla such unease?" asked Ilene.

"Godzilla?" asked Frank.

"We haven't told you this, but for the past few days, Godzilla has been acting erratic for no apparent reason, if what you said is true, then whatever is on the other side of that vortex is probably the cause of it all," suggested Ilene.

"Jesus," Frank murmured. "Wait hold please, it seems like Danny found something,"

"Something?" asked Hampton.

"Kong seems to be on the move, and he's headed towards that vortex in the uncharted area," explained Frank.

"Hang tight, I'm sending a Task Force down there," said Hampton.

"Understood, we'll continue to monitor Kong and the strange energy readings," said Frank. Hampton sighs as the call cuts out before turning towards Ilene.

"Well?" she asks.

"I don't know about this," said Ilene.

"You've done this before Andrews, who says you can't pull this off again?" asked Hampton.

"Yeah but last time we only went as far as the Iwi village, we'll be heading into unknown territories this time around," argued Ilene.

"And whatever is on the other side is pissing off Godzilla, if you run from this then what will the public say about Monarch?" asked Hampton. "Besides you're daughter is not a little girl anymore, I'm sure she'll be worried about Kong as well," Ilene scoffs before nodding.

"Alright fine but at least let me choose the members for this task force," said Ilene.

"Whoever it is you have to contact, make it quick, Godzilla is not a fan of waiting," said Hampton. Ilene nodded as she followed Hampton out to prepare for the upcoming mission.
