Ponycraft: The Maw of Insanity

Carees was running as fast he could toward the city to protect it. Fluttershy was not far behind him, carrying the Slayers of the Lifeless Carees had given her. They were both sweating.

“How are we going to kill an Iron Dragon!? That sounds hard!” Fluttershy yelled.

“By working together, Fluttershy! With that, we're unstoppable! As long as we work with Cannonbolt and Cuddles, we'll be fine, okay!?” Carees yelled back. “Just focus!”

“A-- Alright!”

The town was in chaos. Everyone was running in circles, screaming “DRAGON! RUN”. Ruby and Berry were already in a hustle for pride. Berry was trying to enclose the dragon in shadow, but Razorscale was too fast. With one fell swoop, he launched a fireball at Berry and sent her flying against the wall.

“HAH! You fail!” Ruby pointed at Berry and laughed.

“Imbecile!  There's a big-ass dragon destroying the town, and all you're doing is laughing at me!? Pay attention to the goal at hand! Kill the damn thing!”

“Fine! If you insist, miss weak-sauce! The thing is made out of iron! PK FIRE OMEGA!” Ruby shouted as a fire bolt hit Razorscale's wing.

GWOOOOAR!

It didn't even hurt him, rather just nudged the beast. An iron dragon that doesn't melt to fire? That's one hell of a problem.

“WHAT!? Impossible! That was omega!” Ruby gasped

Razorscale came flying down and winged Ruby. Ruby went flying not into, but THROUGH a wall.

The sirens flew off. Everyone evacuated the buildings. Razorscale was flawlessly winning this battle, if you call it that. So far, it was just a free decimation. That is, until Cannonbolt and Cuddles came into the picture. They came flying in, Cannonbolt already focusing his arrows on the beast.

“Razorscale, ye're gonna get it now! Nobody hurts me friends!”

THWAP!

Arrows flew toward Razorscale. The beast saw it from the corner of it's eye and dodged the first one, however the second one pierced it's wing. The arrow was flaming. Razorscale grunted.

Boom! The arrow exploded as Razorscale elevated lower and struggled to keep it's flying balance for a few seconds. Razorscale spotted Cannonbolt and fired a fireball. Cannonbolt moved out the way of direct fire, but the shock wave made him fly back a few meters. Razorscale looked as if it hadn't even taken any damage.

Cannonbolt looked up to the sky. “Carees, lad... where ye be!? Yer partner needs ya!”

A voice came from behind. “I'm right here.”

Cannonbolt, Ruby, and Berry turned to see Carees with Fluttershy by his side, wielding spiked swords.

“So, Fluttershy, are we gonna let Razorscale destroy our beautiful city!?”

Fluttershy lowered her head and slashed her blades together angrily. “Hell... no.”  She growled.

Cuddles looked over to her. Hey! Haven't seen her in a while! Looks like she's doin' alright. Cuddles thought.

Fluttershy turned to look at Cuddles. “Oh how cute! A raptor! You must be Cuddles. We talk later! Ready to kick some Razorscale butt?”

Cuddles nodded.

“Alright! Let's go!” Carees yelled.

Cannonbolt smiled. “It been too long since this gone on. Explosive shot!”

Another arrow hit Razorscale and exploded. Razorscale lowered once again. Cuddles hopped on Fluttershy and she flew him up to Razorscale.

“Now, Cuddles!” Fluttershy yelled.

Cuddles jumped off and landed on Razorscale's wing. He started to tear it off. For the first time in the battle, Razorscale started to bleed.

GWAAAAR!

The dragon roared in pain and started to plummet to the ground. The beast spun in the air as fast as a top until crashed on the ground and created a tremor. Out from the crash's smoke came an wing injured dragon. The beast headed for Fluttershy. It dashed toward her with anger. Fluttershy sprang up as the beast chomped its mouth and missed. Fluttershy took her two blades and slammed the beast's head in with the swords. The beast of iron hadn't gave up yet though, as it got right back up, and tried to claw at Fluttershy. She dodged with a dive and punched the ground. The ground turned red and fiery hot all around Razorscale.

“Good Death and Decay, Fluttershy! Now, hit it with a Frost Strike!” Carees yelled. Fluttershy did more than a Frost Strike.

The blades grew green and blue as Fluttershy whipped the dragon with a cold blade, making it shiver. Then she hit it with the green aura blade, which  spilled green acid onto it. Plague Strike. The dragon caught her off guard and flicked her away. Razorscale proceeded to try and scorch poor Fluttershy while she was down.

“No! Not again!” Carees yelled. As Fluttershy got up, the poisoned, freezing iron dragon engulfed Fluttershy with a flame for at least 20 seconds. Cannonbolt and Carees watched in horror. It wasn't over though. After the flames, Fluttershy stood up with an anti-magic shield surrounding her in a green aura.

“Oh thank the light.” Carees said. “Quickly! While he's covered with your spells! Obliterate him and send him to me!” Carees grabbed Sulfuras from off his back and readied himself. Fluttershy ran up to the iron beast and with both swords glowing slammed the beast with all of her might and sent Razorscale back.

“Iron Dragon baseball! Woo!” Yelled Carees as Sulfuras gathered up it's fiery power and power smashed Razorscale at least 60 yards into the air and out. Fluttershy came running to finish off the beast. Razorscale was stunned, unable to think, hear or see. Fluttershy jumped in the air, her wings giving her power and yelled. “NOTHING HURTS MY FRIENDS!” With all of her might, she jammed the sword into Razorscale's head. That moment was frozen. Berry and Ruby quit arguing about two minutes before that moment, and stared in awe at this new Fluttershy. Neither of them were getting the pride they hustled for. Fluttershy, Carees, Cannonbolt and Cuddles were to get all the rewards this time. Fluttershy lifted the sword out from the dragon's head.

GRAWWR! RAAAWR!

The dragon squirmed and struggled, but it was over. It hit the ground with a lifeless earthquake. Not even a shred of life was left in it. It took them a minute for it all to sink in what they had accomplished with this teamwork. They all started to smile and laugh. Cuddles started to jump. Then, in unison, they all cheered a battle victory and raced toward each other for a big group hug and energetic jump.

Carees was ecstatic. “Fluttershy! That was amazing! You've made me so proud! Give me a hug, girl!” Fluttershy welcomed him with a big warm hug.

“Lassie, Carees taught ye well. 'Ey, what do ye say... you wanna help us save the world? We could use another flawless Death Knight!”

Cuddles roared an encouraging cry. And hopped up in her face.

“Oh... gee... I don't know...”

She looked at Cuddles who was putting on a puppy dog face.

“...Alright. For you, Cuddles.” Fluttershy blushed.

The all cheered as Cuddles licked her face. “Aww, aren't you just a cute little raptor! Aren't you? That's right...” Fluttershy was scratching Cuddles' chin.

Cannonbolt smiled. “Well, Cuddles, ye found yer friend. Ain't that cute?”

“He's a very cute raptor, Cannon! If I get to fight along side him, I'll gladly join.”

The others started to come out of hiding. They couldn't believe they saw Fluttershy vanquish a dragon with her friends, she had always been so quiet. They raced over to them in happiness and joy. The surrounded all 4 of them and cheered their names. Even Cuddles was getting pet by the residents.

Carees put his hoof up. “Thank you, all! But the real praise goes toward Fluttershy, my apprentice in the arts of combat. She's proved even stronger than me. She's the one who made it possible for this behemoth, Razorscale, to be vanquished! Let the praise go to her, as she will help us vanquish the evil that is causing these attacks, Yogg-Saron!”

The crowd cheered for Fluttershy, as she blushed and smiled with her dragon blood covered swords of pride. The battle was over, the town was saved, and not much damage was done.

Ruby and Berry still stand opened mouthed, but quickly grew angry that neither of them got any attention. They blamed the only person they could at that moment, each other.

“Augh! Now look! We try and save the town, and Fluttershy gets all the attention! Why didn't you try harder!?”

“Sorry I'm not the greatest power of the universe! I can't do it all! Also, did I witness the ultimate power get completely owned by FLUTTERSHY?” Berry taunted.

“Hey! Shuddup! You have a legendary weapon of amazing-ness and you failed to do anything!”

“Shut it, you whore-- Dammit! Again! Mouth! Shuddup! GAH! I'm going home.”

“Fine! Go! I don't care!” Ruby pouted. She really did care deep inside. Both of them had been replaced by a shy, pink pegasus today, and they were angry.

Ruby thought to herself. What can I friggin' do to make her shut up!? Then she realized. Of course! Algalon told her about Frostmourne! It was time to take action. Heh... this'll teach her.

For a flawless victory, they took Fluttershy out to dinner at Applejack's bar. Fluttershy obviously ordered a salad. It was time Fluttershy and the others had a serious talk.

“If I'm gonna be part of the team...” Fluttershy began. “... I deserve to know exactly why Ruby and Berry are fighting. All details.”

Cannon sighed. “All right, lass. Berry and I were at her bar, and she told me she felt neglected. She felt Ruby was hoardin' the attention. She was becoming jealous of 'er. So when that Doctor Andonuts came along and gave Ruby even more power than she already had, Berry kinda lost it.”

Fluttershy was curious. “Umm... lost it? In what way?”

Carees answered her. “They broke into an ego-filled argument and Berry kinda spurted out... something bad.”

Fluttershy shook her head. “I want to know exactly what she said.”

Carees paused. “... She said it was Ruby's fault that you died. She immediately tried to take it back, but it was too late for that.”

Fluttershy made an astonished face. “How selfish!”

“Please, don't take it out on Berry, she really--”

“Why didn't Ruby just accept the apology? She didn't mean it. Sure, it was a rude comment and that's terrible, but really! It's more rude to not accept an honest apology!”

Carees was surprised. “I didn't  expect you to think that way, Fluttershy.”

“Well I did.  I wish I could do something about it.” Fluttershy looked down.

“Don't worry about it. Who knows? Maybe you can some way. But forget about that, it's time to eat and celebrate an awesome victory.”

That night, Ruby was visited by Algalon yet again. She woke up in the familiar white endlessness she had seen him before in.

“Oh, great. Here again. What do you want, Algalon?” She said, snootingly.

As the stars aligned his body, he spoke. “Why so feisty tonight, mortal Ruby?”

“Because you were wrong!  Frostmourne isn't gonna save Berry, it's going to kill her, by my hands!”

Algalon denied it. “Ah, but you are wrong. The odds that you and Berry were going to separate were absolute. The weapon I have laid for you can save her. It has just as great powers as Berry's weapon.”

“I was planning on getting it tomorrow anyhow just to shove it in her face. She thinks she's so special.”

Algalon chuckled emotionlessly. “Ahahaha. She IS special though! Very much so, indeed.”

Ruby got angry. “She isn't worth anything! She's so attached to that dumb axe of her's she thinks it's the best thing ever.”

“She should. She is the only one that can use it properly. She has been gifted with the power to wield it. Only a select few may wield weapons like these. You may not wield the axe. It's cosmically impossible.” Algalon said.

“Pshh, whatever. Tomorrow I get Frostmourne and completely overpower her dumb axe.”

“It's two in the morning for you mortals right now. Your friends are asleep. If you are to go, go now. I am going to wake you up, and you will go to Frostmourne. Good luck.” Algalon faded into the light.
