Summer… I hate summer. Fall is a much nicer season. It was in Fall I was born and when I saw… her. About a year ago I met her and since then life has only been to find her; not easy when you have a full time job and live in the heart of Manehatten. I walk slowly down the streets of this depressing town looking down as I go. As I reach the large office building in the Crystal concession. I hear faint traces of music from the top floors bringing a small smile to my face. Entering I get on the lift and almost hit the button as a voice catches my attention. “Hold that lift please” I hear. Looking up I see a small earth pony running toward the lift with a case held in her mouth. Waiting until she gets close I ask which floor “eighth please” she says sweetly. Clicking the button I look at the pony; she’s a got a light brown coat and a brunette mane. The case had to be some kind of instrument, way too large to be paper work. “Are you here to record something” I asked trying not to jump up and cry with joy; it was her the mare from last fall. She gave a weak smile and nodded. “Did they tell you which studio it would be in” she got a quizzical look and then answered with a no. Looking over I saw she was worried. “Don’t worry I’ll help you figure it out once we get up there” she seemed to be calmed slightly by this. Slowly she picked up her case and motioned toward the now open door. I walked out with her close behind as I thought about how smooth I had acted. Slowly but surely we made our way through the busy hall to the recording offices. “What’s your name ma’am” I asked with questioning eyes. Shyly she answered “Octavia” at this I smiled she had such a beautiful name. Looking through the files I saw it was my studio. Almost squealing with glee I asked her to come with me. She calmly followed and asked me my name “Call me Star please.” In a few minutes we walked around to my office and entered.
“So miss can you please go in there and we can begin” I said motioning to the adjacent door. Entering she opened the case and set up her stand and sheet. “Should I start or what” she asked.
After probably five hours of recording we called it a day. Eventually I actually realized my job and began recording instead of giving the cute grey-brown mare a look of longing. “So do you have any plans for tonight” she asked. After a moment of confusion and realizing she was talking to me I shook my head no. The air of confidence I once had was now gone. She began talking about a new restraint down town that was all new and the entire buzz, zoning out I focused on her big beautiful eyes and caring face. “Star are you alright you zoned out” she said a hint of worry in her voice. Shaking my head back to reality I told her I was fine. “So do you want to come,” she asked to my surprise”, come where” (that’s what he said). She gave me a look of annoyance and repeated herself. Afraid I would mess it up I declined and asked for a rain check on it. I realized my mistake and told her I had changed my mind. “Pick me up at 5 ok here’s my address, don’t be late please” she said handing me a small slip of paper. After she left I fell on my haunches and blankly stared off for a moment before jumping up and screaming dancing and singing “I got a date, Got a date”. After a minute somepony coughed and I turned around to find the mare grinning “I forgot my cello”. After she left I hit myself in the face and started swearing at myself “stupid stupid idiot” I yelled at myself. Hitting the button on the desk to signal I was going on break I fell on the couch and fell asleep only for a little while. Cold cold floors froze my hooves as I walked looking around periodically. “Star come here I miss you” said a sweet voice with a heavy Canterlot accent. Running to find the voice the scene of me seeing the cellist for the first time played through my head again and again. “Sorry ma’am I didn’t see you there let me help. Are you a musician this is a lot of sheet music” I asked with a hint of interest. Looking up I saw a cute grayish brown mare staring at me. “What gave me away the musical note on my bum or the fact I’m in a shop that repairs musical instruments”? Frowning I turned grabbed another paper wrapping it light black hue from my magic. “This is the last one miss sorry for knocking you over” I replied with awe in my voice that I had a chance to meet such a beautiful mare.
