Chapter 2: The 200 Year Detour

The new Mane 6 were all astonished by the appearance of Aaron and the Young 6 in the Brighthouse. Especially Sunny.

"Aaron Blazer?!" Sunny asked. "And... the six young creatures who are heroes to Equestria along with Twilight Sparkle?!"

"No way," Zipp said. Then the new Mane 6 got into a group huddle, talking with each other. "I heard the story of Aaron Blazer, the jade dragon. How he came from another dimension and vanquished an evil dragon who was bent on destroying pony life. I thought it was all just a myth."

"Dad used to tell us that story before he left us," Pipp said.

"I heard that legend, too," Misty said. "From Opaline. She said she wanted his magic along with the magic of his six friends. Since they share a similar magical signature as Twilight Sparkle and her friends. But they disappeared before she could get to them."

"So they are real," Hitch said. "But, there's one thing that has me wondering."

"What's that, Hitch?" Izzy asked. Then they all looked up at Aaron and the Young 6. Then they went back into their huddle.

"How did they stay so young after all this time?" Hitch asked.

"That's a good question," Zipp said. "I'll ask that." Then they all got out of their huddle and Zipp flew up to Aaron and the Young 6, bringing out her phone. "Okay, you all. I'm gonna have to ask all of you questions about how you are all here." She then pushed a button on her phone. "Name: Aaron Blazer. Age... uh..." Zipp was trying to think of Aaron's age.

"Fourteen," Aaron said.

"Okay, thanks," Zipp said. "Age: 14. Question 1: Where have you all been after all this time?"

"That's one answer you will not believe," Aaron said. "To put it simply, we accidentally ended up time traveling to this time from our time."

"Time travel?!" Zipp asked. "That's a thing?!"

"You've seen a lot of weirder things, I'm sure," Aaron said.

Zipp then gave a deadpanned expression, then responded with, "Okay, you got me there."

"Time traveling?" Hitch asked, walking up the ramp. "I didn't even think that was possible."

"Twilight Sparkle has done it before," Aaron said. "Many times."

"You knew Twilight Sparkle?!" Sunny asked. She then screamed in delight. "I can't believe this is happening! We're actually meeting more creatures from around the time of Twilight Sparkle!"

"Okay, moving on to question 2: How did you arrive at our time?" Zipp asked.

"You probably heard rumors that I'm from another dimension, right?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah, why?" Zipp asked.

"Well, it's true," Aaron said. "I was originally from another dimension. I was living with my aunt, and yesterday, she and her fiancé went out of town, and my friends and I were going to spend the week in Equestria. But when we went through the portal, we ended up in the future. We didn't even know where we were when we arrived here. That is until... the changes happened last night."

"Changes?" Zipp asked.

Aaron then brought out his phone and a stylus, and showed the picture of him and the Young 6 winning the talent show before he and Smolder went to his dimension when Ragnarok attacked.

"Whoa," Zipp said, looking at the picture. She then saw how different they all looked in the picture to how they look now. "Okay, that's interesting. Definitely changes to all of you that happened over night."

"So, you all changed over night?" Sunny asked. "That's really weird."

"Okay, you came in through a time portal that appeared in your portal to Equestria in your time," Zipp said. "But the portal on this side, where did it open up?"

"It opened up at a huge tree that grew out of some castle ruins," Gallus said. "We didn't know where we were."

"Until the next morning when we heard Opaline's voice coming from the tree," Smolder said.

The new Mane 6 gasped. Zipp then said, "Opaline! She must've hijacked your portal and brought you all here to steal your magic."

"Impossible," Sunny said. "The tree stole her Cutie Mark and left her magicless. She couldn't do anything even if she tried."

"Oh, she's still trapped in the tree," Aaron said. "And she's still mad."

"No doubt about that," Pipp said. "So, how far in the past did you all come from?"

"That depends," Aaron said. "In my dimension, it was 2023."

"Same here," Sandbar said. "How long has it been since then?"

The new Mane 6 looked at each other and huddled together. They were discussing with each other in panic. As soon as they were done, they all looked towards Aaron and the Young 6.

"Listen, all of you," Sunny said, trying to ease them into comfort. "I don't know how to put this, but..."

"You've all been sent into 200 years in the future!" Izzy shouted.

"That's not how I would've put it," Sunny said.

"200 years?!" Ocellus asked.

"Okay, so we're trapped 200 years in the future," Aaron said. "So, we're gonna have to find our way back to the past."

"Well, I could probably find something in this spell book I've been learning spells from," Misty said, her magic levitating a book. It was brown with a pink rounded rectangle on the front and back cover, and a pink heart inside the rounded rectangle. On the front cover, the heart had a red inside a gold horseshoe.

Ocellus smelt the book. She then said, "This... this magic. It smells similar to Twilight's magic."

"What?!" Aaron, the rest of the Young 6 and the new Mane 6 all asked.

"Twilight wrote that book?" Smolder asked.

"Or somepony close to her," Ocellus said. "Who's magically gifted and close to Twilight?"

"Okay, there are a lot of different possibilities," Aaron said. "Unicorns or Alicorns who are incredibly gifted like her. Starlight Glimmer, Sunset Shimmer, Cadance, Shining Armor, Star Swirl the Bearded, Celestia, Luna, Moondancer... and she would be old enough by now, Flurry Heart."

"Wait a minute," Smolder said. "Wasn't there one more unicorn who's gifted in the future?"

"Oh, right," Aaron said. "Almost forgot about Luster Dawn."

"Who's Luster Dawn?" Gallus asked.

"Eventually, she'll be Twilight's prized pupil in the future," Aaron said.

"Really?" Gallus asked. "Well, where is she in our time?"

"Unknown," Aaron said. "Misty, let me see the book." Misty then levitated the book towards Aaron. He grabbed it, but it then started flying around the Brighthouse, pulling Aaron with it. "Whoa-oa-oa!" It then threw him off of it, and he landed on the couch downstairs. "Gah!" Everyone looked down at Aaron.

"Aaron, you okay?!" Silverstream asked.

"I'll be good!" Aaron said. "I'm just... gonna lay down here for a few!"

"So much for finding out the author of the book," Ocellus said.

Smolder then flew down to the couch where Aaron was laying on. She then asked, "You okay?"

"I'm gonna need a few ice packs," Aaron said. Just then, Sparky jumped down from the ramp and landed on Aaron's back, making Aaron cry out in pain. "That... didn't... help...!" Smolder picked up Sparky, who giggled happily being picked up by Smolder. Then Hitch came down to them.

"Sparky, don't do that again, you hear me?" Hitch asked. Sparky just giggled happily and hugged Hitch's face. "That's my baby dragon." Smolder then pulled on Sparky's left wing.

"This is weird, seeing Sparky here with wings," Smolder said.

"What do you mean?" Hitch asked. "Don't dragons usually have wings?"

"To our knowledge, Sparky is the first dragon to be hatched with wings," Aaron said.

"Wait, what?!" the new Mane 6 asked.

"It's true," Ocellus said. "When we met Spike, before Aaron came to our dimension, Spike didn't have wings yet."

"Usually a dragon gets their wings when they go through the molt," Smolder said.

"What's the Molt?" Sunny asked.

"To put it simply, dragon puberty," Aaron said, making Smolder nod.

"But with Sparky having wings before the proper time of molting, he might not have to go through the molt," Smolder said. Sparky turned around and reached out for Smolder. Smolder leaned away from Sparky, still confused by the dragon hatchling's action.

"He sure seems to like you," Pipp said, hovering down towards the three dragons and Hitch. She then grabbed Sparky away from Hitch and gave him to Smolder. Sparky then hugged and snuggled Smolder, giggling as he was doing so. "Aww. So cute!" She then brought out her phone. "Photo op!" She then took a picture of Sparky hugging Smolder, her still confused about why Sparky was hugging her.

"Please tell me you're not gonna post that," Smolder deadpanned towards Pipp.

"Oh, yeah, I probably shouldn't..." Pipp said before getting a realization. "Wait a minute. The ponies of this current time of Equestria probably don't know about you all yet."

"Yona and friends were being very sneaky when it came to sneaking through town," Yona said. The new Mane 6 looked up at Yona.

"Uh, is she alright?" Misty asked. "She doesn't seem to be talking in clear sentences."

"The yaks are all not used to speaking the same language as us," Aaron said. "Yona actually tried to speak our language better for a dance. But... she messed up a lot in the dancing."

"Yona embarrassed after what happened," Yona said. "Yona thought that she was worst pony partner ever."

"Pony partner?" Zipp asked.

"It was a school dance theme, and the five of us were the only ones in the school who weren't ponies," Gallus said. "Still before Aaron came to the school."

"School?" Zipp asked. "What school?"

"Twilight Sparkle's School of Friendship," Sandbar said. "She and her friends opened it to share the Magic of Friendship with everypony."

"And not just ponies," Ocellus said. "In fact, the five of us were the first non-pony students to be students in the school."

"That is until the head of the Equestrian Education Association found out that the school had non-pony students, and some of the teachers weren't really that qualified to teach," Aaron said. "But the reason why they weren't qualified under the directions of the EEA was because they were trying to do it by the EEA standards. And he was also racist. He thought that education should just be for ponies only, and other creatures outside of pony species were the enemies."

"What?!" Sunny asked. "So, how did you all become heroes of Equestria?"

"By sticking together," Silverstream said. "Eventually, Twilight figured out that running the school the EEA wanted was why it was failing. So, she had the faculty teach their classes their way. And it was a big success."

"I can see it happening," Hitch said. But then he got a realization. "Wait a minute." He then looked over at Aaron. "How did you know who we were? We haven't even met?"

"Aaron came from another dimension, where the adventures of Twilight Sparkle and her friends were part of a TV show," Smolder said. "That was Generation 4 for the series."

"Series?" Sunny asked. She then got a realization. "Wait. Does that mean we're in the show as well?!"

"Your adventure of gathering all the ponies and the Unity Crystals together was the start of Generation 5," Aaron said. "And it was a movie."

"A movie?!" Pipp asked. She then thought about it. "Actually, us coming together would make a good movie."

"I'd tell you all later, but, didn't you all have somewhere to be?" Aaron asked.

Sunny, Izzy and Pipp gasped.

"My smoothie cart!" Sunny shouted.

"My crafting stall!" Izzy shouted.

"My music video with Ruby Jubilee!" Pipp shouted. Then the three of them dashed out of there.

"Wow," Aaron said. "That was unexpected." He then tried sitting up, but his back gave off a cracking sound. "Gah! Okay, that really hurts."

"I got you, buddy," Hitch said. He then let his hoof glow green. "I'm the pony of the law. Coolest dragon dad you know. My cutie mark comes to life, and my kindness overflows!" Green vines came out of the ground and came up to Aaron. The vines grabbed Aaron's arms and legs and stretched him out. He yelled out in pain, but then he stopped yelling.

"Whoa!" Aaron said. "Hey, the pain's gone!" Then the vines put him down. He then thought of something. "Hey, what was that?"

"What was what?" Hitch asked.

"That entire speech," Aaron said. "The 'My Cutie Mark comes to life' speech thing?"

"Oh, that," Zipp asked. "That just happens when we need to live up to our Cutie Marks and help those in need. Kinda our key elements of our friendship. As you could see, Hitch's element is kindness. Mine, it's Bravery."

"And mine is Heart," Misty added.

"So what are Sunny's, Izzy's and Pipp's?" Ocellus asked.

"Izzy's is Creativity," Hitch said. "Pipp's is Confidence, and Sunny's is Hope."

"Makes sense," Aaron said. Just then, Sparky jumped on top of Aaron's head.

"Why is he so clingy to us?" Smolder asked.

"I don't know," Hitch said. "In fact, this is the most clingy Sparky has ever been with certain dragons then the others."

"Others?" Smolder asked.

"You have found other dragons?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah, we did," Zipp said. "We kinda had to if we were gonna stop Opaline."

"Which was almost a bad idea at the time since she had the Dragon Stone," Hitch said.

"Oh, yeah," Aaron said. "The Dragon Stone that could absorb Dragon Fire. Fire breathing dragons against a fire alicorn is a bad idea."

"Really bad," Zipp said. She then thought of something. "You said that there's a TV series based on this world. Are we a part of that series?"

"Actually, yeah," Aaron said. "This is currently Generation 5. The time we came from is Generation 4."

"Generations?" Zipp asked. "Interesting. When did this series officially start?"

"In my world, the series originally started in the 1980s," Aaron answered.

"Although, the looks of the previous generations looked kinda weird compared to how they do now," Smolder said. "I've seen them on the internet."

"So, you've been watching us for years, huh?" Misty asked, getting nervous.

"In my world, yes," Aaron said. "Time is kinda funny in this world."

"That would make sense," Hitch said. "That's probably why you all ended up in our time."

"Not really," Gallus said. "The day before we came here, we came from our time. And the next day, we ended up here, yesterday afternoon."

"Well, that's not good," Zipp said. "Perhaps there's a reason why you all were sent here."

"Like how Aaron was sent here when he first arrived," Sandbar said. "He wished for some friends in his world, and he got transformed into a dragon destined to defeat that evil dragon in the past."

"Ragnarok the Reaper," Zipp said. "I know about that story. My dad told me and Pipp about it before he left us."

"Still famous even after 200 years," Aaron said.

"Guess that song from Fall Out Boy kinda fits you," Smolder said.

"What song?" Ocellus asked.

"Centuries," Smolder said.

"I heard that song," Gallus said. "It actually works with Aaron's victory over Ragnarok." He then started singing. "Some legends are told... Some turn to dust or to gold... But you will remember me... Remember me for Centuries... And just one mistake... Is all it will take... We'll go down in history... Remember me for Centuries."

"Catchy," Hitch said. "I'll have to hear that song."

"Okay, if Sunny is okay with it, you should all stay here with us until we find a way to get you all back to your time," Zipp said. "This is a big mystery to solve about how you got here."

"I'm sure we'll find you all the way back home," Misty said. "I just have to find the right spell."

"In the meantime, I might as well get some information on you all for research purposes," Zipp said. "I'm sure that Sunny would want to do the same."

"What do you want to know?" Aaron asked.

"Everything," Zipp said.

Okay, Aaron and the Young 6 have officially met the New Mane 6. It's only a matter of time until everypony knows them. After that happens, the New Mane 6 takes Aaron and the Young 6 to the Boardtrot.
