Chapter 5: Haven and Alphabittle

Outside of the Brighthouse, a bunch of Unicorns were getting Sprouticus Maximus back up correctly while a tow truck was getting ready to tow it.

Inside the Brighthouse, the new Mane 6 were cleaning up the Brighthouse, preparing for the arrival of Queen Haven.

"Okay, everypony!" Pipp said. "Mom is on her way here! We need to get this place spic and span before she gets here! Sunny! Prepare a meal that is worthy of all of us!"

"On it!" Sunny said, heading for the kitchen.

"Hitch, Misty, you two clean this place up!" Pipp said. "We need it really tidy before Mom gets here!"

"On it, Pipp," Misty said. She then used her magic to get the cleaning supplies. She handed some off to Hitch and the two of them spread out to clean out the Brighthouse.

"Izzy, we need this place decorated for when Mom gets here!" Pipp said.

"Yepperoni, Pipp!" Izzy said. "I'm on it!"

"Yo, Pipp," Zipp said. "Relax. It's just a casual visit."

"Our Mom is coming, Zipp!" Pipp said, grabbing Zipp's shoulders with her forehooves. "We need to get this place up to her standards, or she'll disown us, cut off our cell phone reception, and we'll have to work for a living!"

"Uh, Pipp, we already do that last thing," Zipp said. She then looked around. "Hey, where are our time travelling guests?"

In the Crystal Room of the Crystal Brighthouse, Aaron and the Young 6 were surrounding the Unity Crystals. Ocellus had her head up, feeling the energy from the Prisbeam around her.

"Wow," Ocellus said. "That is... really powerful magic."

"The Unity Crystals are powered by the ponies united in harmony," Aaron said. "At first, I thought the Crystals were representing the founding of Equestria."

"Oh, yeah," Sandbar said. "The Hearth's Warming tale of how two ponies of each normal tribe came together in harmony and fended off the Windigos so long ago."

"That would've made more sense," Smolder said. "But when Maretime Bay Day came, ponies were arguing, there were storm clouds brewing, magic was cancelling out, and the hooves of the Earth Ponies got stuck. And yet, no Windigos."

"Wait, does that mean the Windigos get wiped out the day we stopped Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow that day?" Gallus asked.

"Who knows," Aaron said. "If only there was someone we know who's still alive in this time."

"Besides Discord?" Smolder asked.

"Discord?" Aaron asked. "Of course!" He then went over to one side of the room where his backpack was. He opened it up and pulled out his laptop and started typing. "In the G5 comics, Discord made an appearance. But he was so old." He then showed an image of Discord when Sunny, Hitch, Izzy, Pipp and Zipp met him in Canterlot.

"Whoa," Gallus said. "He got old."

"He could've helped in the battle against Opaline," Silverstream said.

"But why not?" Yona asked.

"We're gonna have to ask the others," Aaron said. Just then, the floor opened up and coming up from the floor was Zipp. "Hey, Zipp."

"I was looking for you all," Zipp said. "Did Sunny give you all access to come up here?"

"Sorta," Ocellus said. She then shapeshifted into Sunny, giving an embarrassed smile.

"Oh, right," Zipp said. "Changelings are shapeshifters. That would make sense. So, what are you all doing up here?"

"Just checking out the Unity Crystals," Aaron said.

"These things are incredible," Sandbar said. "I still can't believe that Twilight had stored all the magic of Equestria into these three crystals."

"But where Crystals come from?" Yona asked.

"Actually, that is a good point," Zipp said before bringing out her phone. "New mystery to solve: Where was the place where the Unity Crystals were formed." She then put her phone away. "Anyway, everypony downstairs is getting everything prepared for when Mom comes."

"Surely she has time for you two, time to run her kingdom and time with Alphabittle," Smolder said.

"Yeah, she sure did fall for Alphabittle," Zipp said. She then thought of something. "Aaron, in this series based on us, how far did you watch us?"

"In the Make Your Mark series, we were up to when Misty finally earned her own Cutie Mark," Aaron responded.

"Oh, right," Zipp said. "So you wouldn't have known what happened recently after that."

"Why?" Aaron asked. "What happened?"

"Turns out Misty was from Bridlewood, and she somehow ended up at Opaline's Castle, alone and scared," Zipp said. "Her father was hoping that one day, his little filly would come home."

"Being gone for so many years must've been a lot to take in," Sandbar said.

"You know it, Sandbar," Zipp said. "And you are not gonna believe who..." She was then cut off when she saw three pegasi coming in to land in front of the Brighthouse. "Oh, sweet. Mom's here. C'mon. I'll introduce you all to her." Then they all got on the platform and they all went down.

The doorbell rang. Sunny, Hitch, Izzy, Pipp and Misty all gasped when it happened.

"She's here!" Pipp yelled. She then screamed.

"I'm still preparing dinner!" Sunny shouted.

"And the Brighthouse isn't clean yet!" Hitch cried out. He then looked around. "Wait, where's Sparky?" Sparky then ran out of the bathroom, heading towards the door.

Pipp noticed this and cried out, "Sparky! No!" But it was too late. Sparky had already opened the door, revealing Queen Haven with Zoom and Thunder next to her.

"Oh, thank you all," Queen Haven said. "Sorry for the urgent text, but I wanted to see these time travelling creatures for myself."

"Mom!" Pipp said, nervously. "I wasn't expecting you so suddenly."

"Oh, if you're trying to rush your friends into cleaning up the place before I arrived, you don't have to," Queen Haven said. That made Sunny, Hitch, Izzy and Misty stop.

"Wait, what?" Pipp asked.

"It's supposed to be a casual visit," Haven said. "No need to get so worked up about it."

"Not the first time I've seen it happen," came Aaron's voice. Everypony looked up towards the ramp and they saw Aaron, the Young 6 and Zipp coming down the ramp. "Nice to officially meet you, Queen Haven."

"So, you're the infamous heroes of Equestria's past that my daughter had live streamed about this morning," Queen Haven said. "A pleasure to meet you all."

"Mom, meet Aaron, Smolder, Gallus, Silverstream, Sandbar, Yona and Ocellus," Zipp said. "They were all heroes of Equestria during the time of Twilight Sparkle."

"I see," Haven said. "They all look so young. How do they look so young if they were from the old times?"

"Time travel," Gallus said. "We still don't know how that happened, though."

"We're still looking into it," Misty said. "Right now, they're staying here with us until we can find them a way home."

"Glad to hear it, Misty," came another voice. Everyone looked towards the voice and they all saw Alphabittle coming in. "You're always putting your heart first."

"Dad!" Misty said, running up to Alphabittle. Then the two unicorns hugged.

"Dad?!" Aaron and Smolder asked in confusion and shock.

Then Aaron got a realization. "Oh, that explains the look he gave when he saw Misty during the Unity Dance at the Manesquerade Ball." He then remembered the scene where Alphabittle saw Misty during the Ball.

"I thought that look he was giving was the 'Who is that?' look, when it was really the 'Wait, is that...?' look."

The memory ended as Zipp walked up to him, saying, "Guess those two faces are quite similar."

"So that was you at the ball," Alphabittle said.

"Yep," Misty said. "Honestly, I didn't know the dance. I was just going with it."

"We all were, Misty," Hitch said.

"And how could you tell it was us when we were all in disguise?" Izzy asked.

"It's easy to tell with your bodies and manes not fully covered in makeup," Smolder said. "It was even a bigger giveaway with Queen Haven."

"How was I a bigger giveaway?" Queen Haven asked.

"Sitting at your throne, Cloudpuff by your side... and you forgot to take off your royal regalia," Aaron answered. "Everypony knew it was you." Zipp laughed at that.

"Sorry, Mom," Zipp said. "But, that was too funny and true."

"Okay, next ball, I go with a totally new disguise," Queen Haven said. "What do you think I should go as?"

"I would say... an ancient Equestrian hero," Aaron said.

"That would do it," Smolder said.

"We should talk more over dinner," Queen Haven said.

"It's still not ready!" Sunny cried out.

"Need some help with that?" Aaron asked, walking up to her.

"I would like that!" Sunny said. "Thank you so much, Aaron!" Aaron then started washing his hands so he could help with cooking.

"Better to have clean hands when cooking," Aaron said. "Speaking of which, why do ponies wash your hooves if you're just gonna walk on them and get them dirty?"

Sunny thought about it and said, "Huh. I never thought about it."

"Probably shoulda asked Celestia or Luna when they were in my house," Aaron asked.

"Who are they?" Sunny asked.

"Celestia was Twilight Sparkle's old mentor," Aaron asked. "You know, that same story your dad told you when you were a filly."

"Oh, yeah," Sunny said. "My dad loved telling that story to me when I was a filly." She then sighed. "I just wish he was here to meet you all."

"Hey, I'm sure he's been watching you the entire time," Aaron said. "Those who you love never leave you. They're always with you in your heart."

Sunny then gave a heartfelt smile towards Aaron, which caused her Alicorn form to come out. She then said, "Thanks, Aaron. You're a good friend."

"Well, I did take a semester at Twilight's School of Friendship," Aaron said.

"Huh," Sunny said. "Guess that's one of the legends my Dad told me about. Anyway, let's get cooking."

Later, everyone there was enjoying a spaghetti meal. There was also come garlic bread.

"Why did you make garlic bread?" Misty asked, confused by the side.

"It's a classic Italian side for an Italian meal," Aaron answered. "Mostly the pasta meals of Italian meals."

"Not really a fan of garlic though," Misty said.

"Why, are you a vampire or something?" Gallus asked, smugly.

"No, she hates the smell of garlic breath," Smolder said. "Just like when she set up that haunted house on that one Nightmare Night."

"That was you under that sheet?" Pipp asked. Misty blushed embarrassingly. "That was awesome!"

"It was actually supposed to be a trap for Sparky there," Aaron said. "She was still working for Opaline, remember?"

"Yeah, that was the original idea," Misty said. "Separating all of you from Sparky so I could get him for Opaline. But all of you left together. I was trying to get you all to come back, but..."

"Pipp live streamed her entire experience there and everypony in Maretime Bay wanted to check it out for themselves," Smolder said. "So, her night was pretty full."

"Tell me about it," Misty said. "I had to explain to Opaline how I didn't get Sparky that night because of how busy I was that night."

"At least it wasn't as bad as Bridlewoodstock," Aaron said.

"Oooh!" Sunny, Izzy, Hitch, Pipp, Zipp and Alphabittle all cringed at the reminder of that night.

"Yeah, not my best idea not to listen to the paranoia of the unicorns around that time," Pipp said.

"Especially if Izzy was the most paranoid out of all the unicorns," Aaron said.

"Yeah, I was," Izzy said. "And even though I didn't see any Troggles before they came before the event, and not many moons before then." She then giggled nervously.

Aaron and the Young 6 looked towards Izzy with raised eyebrows. Yona then asked, "Why artsy pony laugh nervously?"

Ocellus then thought about it by putting her hoof to her chin. She then said, "It's because she did see one before Bridlewoodstock! Years before!"

"And she lied about it," Aaron said.

Izzy looked left to right with her eyes very quickly. She then shouted, "Okay, I did! I saw the Troggles when I was a filly!"

Years earlier in Bridlewood, young Izzy Moonbow was trotting through the forest, looking around at everything.

"I was trotting through the forest, seeing what is out there during that time of night. My parents told me not to go near the clearing for the entire week, but with how curious I was that night, I had to go."

Young Izzy Moonbow came across the clearing where she showed her friends the Lumi-Bloom. She then saw that the flowers were starting to glow.

"Wow!" young Izzy exclaimed. "This is amazing!" She then started yelling around.

"I was told when during the time of the Lumi-Bloom not to make any noise. But I was too ignorant to understand why. That was until I heard strange voices."

"That's it, little pony," came a voice. "Keep yelling around."

"Huh?" young Izzy asked, looking around. "Is somepony there?" Just then, a Troggle came in right behind her. Izzy turned around and saw the Troggle. She then screamed. But then her throat started glowing yellow. Then the glowing started coming out of her mouth and it went towards the Troggle. She then tried yelling, but no sound was coming out of her mouth.

"The Troggle had taken my voice. I couldn't even cry out for help."

Then a bunch of Troggles came in, surrounding young Izzy. She looked around in fright, knowing that she couldn't do anything to get out of there. Just then, the sound of a twig snapping came in, getting the attention of the Troggles.

"I didn't know who snapped a twig, but the Troggles were distracted. So I ran out of there. The Troggles didn't even know I was gone. So I ran as fast as my little hooves could go straight back to my house."

Young Izzy ran through the forest back to her house. She ran through the door and slammed it shut. She then pressed on the door so nothing could get in. She then saw that the window was slightly open.

"The Troggles could've gotten in through the window, so I went to go close it. But then, something came in fast and went into my neck at high speed, knocking me over."

"Whoa!" young Izzy said, falling over. She then shook her head. "Oh, my head. What was that?" She then realized something. "My voice! It's back!" Young Izzy then looked out the window.

"I was then curious about how my voice came back to me, so I looked out the window."

Outside, there was a figure walking away from the forest, but it was too dark for young Izzy to get a full description.

"Wow," young Izzy said.

I didn't know who that unicorn was, but maybe she had something to do with my voice coming back. All I could describe her was that she was tall, she had a dark coat, and she also had a thick, purple mane."

Izzy was finishing off the story of when she first encountered the Troggles long before she even met Sunny and the others.

"She must've known about the Troggles and came to help," Izzy said. "She must've come to help me. When I asked around if there was somepony that helped me, nopony knew what happened."

"So, a mysterious tall unicorn just happened to be in Bridlewood during the Lumi-Bloom and stopped those Troggles and rescued you?" Zipp asked. She then brought out her phone and spoke into it. "New mystery to solve: Unknown Unicorn saves Izzy when she was a filly, and was never seen again."

"That's a mystery that's left to be solved," Aaron said. "How tall was she?"

"Really tall!" Izzy said, standing on her hind hooves, reaching up to a certain height. "Possibly as tall as Opaline."

"Opaline tall?" Aaron asked. "Only Alicorns can reach that height."

"Really?" Izzy asked.

"So, there's another Alicorn out there?" Sunny asked. "Who could it be?"

"The description of this possibly new Alicorn does sound familiar, but I'm not picking up anything," Aaron said. "It's almost like I have a mental block of it."

"Perhaps there's something in that book that Zipp took from the Royal Archives back in Zephyr Heights during the Manesquearde ball," Smolder said.

"Oh, yeah, there could've been," Zipp said. "But, after defeating Opaline, I had to take it back to Zephyr Heights."

"Well, perhaps you can go back for it," Misty said. "After all, I was the one who found it. After following you. And I ripped out the pages that had Opaline on them."

"Oh, right," Zipp said. "You were still working for Opaline back then. Why did she send you to us that day?"

"Opaline didn't," Smolder said. "She was supposed to be watching the lair that day, but she went off to see what you guys were up to that day. But on the bright side, she didn't mess up anything at the castle." That made the new Mane 6 laugh.

"Well, I'm glad you followed your heart and turned on Opaline, Misty," Queen Haven said. "You might not have had your Cutie Mark before joining my daughters and their friends, but you earned it when you finally did the right thing."

"Yeah," Misty said. "I did." She then looked at her friends. "Because they treated me with nothing but kindness and respect." She then looked at Zipp. "Well, not Zipp at first." Zipp then blushed nervously, regretting what she did when accusing Misty. "But, we all got along at the end. Especially when I got this." She then pointed at her Cutie Mark. "It's much better than drawing a Cutie Mark on my flank with a pencil."

"That must've been hard to keep doing everyday you were in public," Gallus said.

"Tell me about it," Misty said. "I may seem a little quiet, but my strength is very real. When my cutie mark comes to life, my heart helps me feel!" She then started glowing. Everyone looked towards her with amazement.

"Wow," Sandbar said. "Now that's awesome."

"I'm sure something will happen to you when you get older," Alphabittle said.

"Which is kinda ironic because the seven of us are technically older than all of you because we were all born in the past," Ocellus said.

"Right, time travel," Alphabittle said. "That's actually funny."

"Well, I should get back to Zephyr Heights," Queen Haven said, standing up. "I gotta get back to my royal duties."

"And I should head on home as well," Alphabittle said. "I'll see you all next time I'm in town." He then walked up to Misty and hugged her. "Especially you, my little Misty-Wisty."

"Daaad..." Misty whined. That made Aaron and the Young 6 laugh.

Later that night, Zipp was having trouble sleeping. She was still thinking about that figure that saved Izzy from the Troggles when she was a filly. She then sat up and looked around, seeing Sunny, Izzy, Pipp and Misty in their beds. Smolder, Ocellus, Silverstream, and Yona were also there, sleeping in sleeping bags. Smolder was sleeping next to Zipp's desk, Ocellus was sleeping next to Pipp's bed, Silverstream was sleeping next to Izzy's bed, and Yona was sleeping next to Misty's bed.

Zipp was about to go back to sleep, but then she saw a shadow coming in from outside of Zipp's window, heading up quickly. Zipp looked towards the window in confusion. She then got out of bed, headed for the window, opened it up, and started flying up towards the top of the Brighthouse. She then saw Aaron looking up at the starry sky.

"Couldn't sleep either?" Zipp asked, flying down to him. She landed next to Aaron.

"A lot of things are on my mind, Zephyrina," Aaron said.

"Hey, only Mom gets to call me that," Zipp said. "So, what are you thinking about?"

"So many things about what could have happened between that one episode of G4 up until what happened when Sunny received her lantern from her dad," Aaron answered.

"Yeah, a lot of questions would remain unanswered for that long," Zipp said. "But, we might as well start with the more important ones."

"Tell me about it," came Ocellus's voice. The two turned around and saw Ocellus coming in on the elevator. "Sorry to startle you two. You kinda woke me up, Zipp."

"Sorry about that, Ocellus," Zipp said. "I was just wondering what Aaron was up to."

"I can see why," Ocellus said. "Being gone for 200 years must take a toll on all of us."

"Especially when Opaline tried taking all the magic in Equestria for herself," Zipp said. "Man, for an Alicorn who's 200 years old, she sure is spry."

"Oh, Opaline is way older than that," Aaron said.

"She is?" Zipp asked, her and Ocellus looking at Aaron with raised eyebrows.

"Apparently, Opaline was around the same age as Celestia and Luna," Aaron said. "In one episode of Make Your Mark, she's seen as a filly with the two sisters in their foalhood."

"That would make her... over thirteen hundred years old," Ocellus said.

"Whoa," Zipp said. "Now that's old."

"Tell me about it," Aaron said. "Alicorns are able to live for a really, really long time. Luna spent a thousand years on the moon when she became Nightmare Moon."

"Wait, you know of how Nightmare Moon came to be?" Zipp asked.

"Yeah," Aaron said. "A lot of ponies thought it was just an old foals tale." Ocellus nodded in agreement. "Luna thought she was felt unappreciated by the ponies for bringing the night, and with darkness she was cursed with from when she and Celestia battled Sombra, she became Nightmare Moon and was wanting to show the beauty of the night by making the night last forever."

"That was a long night when she came back from the moon," Ocellus said. Aaron was thinking about something.

"Huh," Zipp said. "So it's Alicorn Magic that causes the sun and moon to be brought up and down in the sky. Interesting."

"That just leaves me wondering," Aaron said.

Ocellus and Zipp looked at Aaron. Zipp then asked, "What? What is it?"

"Only Alicorn Magic is able to bring up the sun and moon," Aaron said. "And since Twilight is nowhere to be found, and with magic being gone for almost 200 years, who was moving the sun and moon for all this time?" Ocellus and Zipp went wide eyed at that.

Author's Note

Well, there's a new mystery to be solved. Since in G4, the sun and moon have been moving across the sky thanks to Alicorn magic. And since Twilight was nowhere to be found, who has been moving the sun and moon in G5? We know it wasn't Opaline. So, who could've been moving the sun and moon across the sky? Perhaps the new Mane 6 should find some answers from someone who was around back then. Find out next time on "A Dragon's New Generation Adventure".
