Chapter 8: Nyx, Daughter of Twilight Sparkle

The next morning, in the Treehouse of Harmony, Aaron, the Young 6, the New Mane 6, Sparky and Spike were all asleep in the room they all entered the previous night. Hitch thought that Sparky was sleeping in his hooves the entire night, but that morning, he wasn't. He reached around for Sparky, but his hooves couldn't find the dragon hatchling. That's when Hitch woke up.

"Sparky?!" Hitch asked, standing up quickly. "Sparky! Where are...?!" He then saw that Sparky was sleeping with Aaron and Smolder on Spike's left side. All of them covered in a blanket. "Sparky." Aaron and Smolder started coming to.

The two teenage dragons opened up their eyes. They looked at each other. Smolder smiled at that, followed by Aaron. Then they felt something snuggling up to them. They looked down and they saw Sparky asleep in between them.

"Oh, boy," Smolder said. "He came up to us last night."

"I wonder why he's so attracted to you two," Hitch said.

"Heck if I know," Smolder said. "What do you think, Aaron?" Aaron then sniffed around.

"I smell food," Aaron said. Then Smolder and Hitch started sniffing.

"Hey, you're right," Hitch said. He then looked around and shouted, "Everypony! Wake up!" That made everyone else wake up.

"Uh, what a night," Gallus said. He then looked at his new Cutie Mark on his right flank. "Huh. I thought that was some strange dream I had last night."

"I still can't believe that you got a Cutie Mark, dude," Sandbar said.

"I can't believe it either," Gallus said. "Being the first non-pony creature to get a Cutie Mark."

"Is he though?" Pipp asked, tilting her head towards Zipp.

"He is from the past, so, technically, yes," Zipp answered. "He is the first."

"So, that gonna happen to rest of us?" Yona asked.

"Probably," Misty said.

"Twilight did say that magic is alive and always changing," Sunny said. "Like how Gallus got his Cutie Mark and Sandbar was able to grow plants with his hoof like the Earth Ponies of our time are able to."

"And even the dragons have new magic properties," Zipp said. "Spike's teleportation fire, Sparky's transformation fire, Tumble's wind fire, Fountain's water fire, and Luxxe's light fire."

"Even dragons have new magic?" Smolder asked.

"Hey, you and Aaron got new magic when crossing through that portal when Ragnarok came here to this exact spot," Spike said.

"Oh, yeah," Smolder said. "Our shapeshifting ability."

"You two can shapeshift?!" Hitch asked.

"Only into Humans or Dragons," Smolder said. "Aaron prefers to stay a dragon while in Equestria."

"Why?" Pipp asked. "Are ponies freaked out by Aaron's human form?"

"That and there's a unicorn who has an unhealthy obsession with humans," Ocellus said. "She's been begging Aaron to stay in Equestria forever."

"Anyway, I smell food," Aaron said. "Let's check it out." Aaron then walked towards a doorway that goes deeper into the Treehouse. The others then followed him.

They came into another room where a bunch of crystal circular tables and seats were, and a long table with food for everyone there to eat.

"Whoa," Hitch said. "Who made this spread? This new Alicorn?"

"Probably," Aaron said. "Either the Alicorn, or..." He then thought about it. He then looked at a pan full of pancakes that Pipp was about to grab with some tongs.

"Oh, these pancakes look like the same ones the cooks at the castle cook for us," Pipp said.

"Hold on!" Aaron said, raising his left fist, making everyone stop. "This might not be real! It's all probably an illusion made by the Tree of Harmony!"

"Oh, yeah," Gallus said. "Just like when it tested us when we first went into the catacombs under the school when we were studying."

"The Tree of Harmony does have a lot of magic within it," Ocellus said. "If it was able to create lifelike illusions under the school from far away, what could it do when we're actually inside it?"

"Good question, Ocellus," came the voice of Twilight Sparkle. They all turned towards the doorway on the other side of the room and in came an image.

"Twilight Sparkle...!" Sunny said, getting excited.

Aaron took a good look at the Alicorn, seeing how sparkly she was. He then said, "No. That's not Twilight. That's the Spirit of the Tree of Harmony."

"What?!" Sunny asked.

"You are correct, Aaron Blazer," the Tree of Harmony said. "And welcome back to the Tree of Harmony after so long. Even though for you it hasn't been as long as it has here."

"So, you..." Sunny said, pointing at the Spirit. "...are really all of this?" Sunny motioned her forehoof to the place they're in.

"That's right, Sunny Starscout," the Tree of Harmony said. "In fact, I've been keeping my eye on you for a long time."

"You have?" Sunny asked. "How?"

"I'll tell you later," the Tree of Harmony said. "But for now, you must all be famished. Go ahead. Eat. This food is as real as all of you. Courtesy of the Alicorn who has gave you all more comfort last night."

"Oh, I was wondering where those blankets and pillows came from," Zipp said. She then walked over towards the table with the food. She then grabbed a pancake with her forehoof and took a bite out of it. She was given out widened eyes after the taste. "Wow. This is actually pretty good."

"You're lucky I learned from great chefs for the past few decades," came a new voice. The group all looked back towards the doorway. A new figure appeared in. She was wearing a cloak covering her entire body.

"The new Alicorn?" Zipp asked.

"That's right, Zephyrina Storm," the cloaked figure said. "Always suspicious and always investigating new mysteries."

"Whoa," Zipp said. "Wait, how do you know my name?"

"The Tree wasn't the only one keeping its eyes on you," the cloaked figure said. She then looked towards Izzy. "Isabella Moonbow. I haven't seen you since I saved your voice from the Troggles during that night of the Lumi-Bloom."

Izzy then gasped and asked, "That was you?!" She then squealed excitedly. "For years, I've been wondering if somepony had seen you, but nopony ever did!"

The cloaked figure then chuckled and said, "Misty. I see you found your way back home."

"With... a little help," Misty said. "Wait a minute, how do you know all about this?"

"I've seen your adventures through your dreams," the figure said.

"Through our dreams?" Pipp asked. "Wait, is she telepathic like the silly superstitions about Unicorns say?"

"Dream walking," Aaron said. "Only Princess Luna was able to do that."

"Not just her," the figure said. She then lifted her head enough for everyone to see. They were not normal eyes. The eyes were teal with dagger shaped pupils, and light blue scleras. "Not anymore."

"Whoa!" Hitch said. "What's up with her eyes?!"

"Who is that?!" Silverstream asked.

"Wait a minute," Aaron said. "I know those eyes anywhere! It's the Mare in the Moon! Nightmare Moon!" That made the Young 6 and the New Mane 6 all gasp.

"I don't go by that name," the figure said. She then removed her cloak, revealing her whole body. She was as tall as Princess Luna. She had a thick, purple mane with her long horn sticking out, and she had her wings spread out.

"A purple mane?" Gallus asked. "Wait, wasn't Nightmare Moon's mane blue as the night sky like Princess Luna's."

"Originally, yes," the black Alicorn said. "But, I was based on her, and someone else." She then tossed something towards Aaron, who caught it. It was a book. "Does it look familiar, Aaron Blazer?"

Aaron looked at the book. He was then surprised at what he caught. It was a worn out copy of the MLP fanfic, "Past Sins" by Pen Stroke. Aaron then looked back at the Alicorn. She smiled and turned to the left so she could reveal her Cutie Mark.

"No... way..." Aaron said. "You're... you're Nyx."

"Nyx?" Smolder asked. "That failed Nightmare Moon reincarnation from that fanfiction you gave to Twilight Sparkle?"

"That is correct, Smolder," the black Alicorn, now known as Nyx, replied. "In fact, it was that same book there that Mom has came up with the idea to create me. But with slight changes to the original design of the ritual."

"What?" Aaron asked. "What did she do?"

"You see, in the story, Nyx came into creation due to the magic around her in the Everfree Forest," Spike said. Aaron, the Young 6 and the New Mane 6 looked up at him.

"You knew all along?" Aaron asked.

"Of course," Spike said. "I was there when it happened. Nyx here has been a great help towards the kingdom of Equestria for a long time. Twilight new that copying that ritual would be all for not if magic vanished, since magic was the only thing that would've kept her alive. But for this to be possible, Nyx had to be... biologically created as well."

"Biologically?" Gallus asked. He then went wide eyed. "Wait. You mean...?"

"That's right," Nyx responded. "I was born how all little ponies were born."

"So that when magic vanished, you wouldn't fall apart," Aaron said.

"Exactly," Nyx said. "Not bad for a human."

"You've been biologically recreated by Twilight Sparkle... through her womb," Aaron said.

"But how?" Ocellus asked.

"Check out the back of the book," Nyx said. Aaron then opened the book to the back of the book, and there was writing in it to see what was written. "Mom used her own womb to do the progress of this special ritual. She also had help from one of the royal guards in the castle to help her with this ritual for some... grown up things."

"In term, she used a stallions sperm and mixed it with what was left of the shreds of Nightmare Moon and stuck it up her baby making hole," Ocellus said.

"You were always the smartest of the group, weren't you?" Nyx asked.

"We changelings have to be smart if we're able to change into someone to their exact detail," Ocellus responded.

"Well, you're not the only one," Nyx said. She then changed form. She turned into the older version of Rainbow Dash. She even used Rainbow Dash's voice. "It takes a lot of information and memorization to get it just right. Luckily for me, I had a lot of practice from the Tree of Harmony here."

"It's true, she did," the Tree of Harmony added. "Although, she had to practice her disguise spell to disguise herself as different ponies throughout the past. In fact, you've met her from time to time and you didn't even realize it. She's been mostly disguising herself as ponies designed by fans of the show you watch, Aaron Blazer."

"Wait, those pony character creations made by fans in the show," Aaron said. "That was really you in disguise?"

"There are a lot of devoted fans of the show that want to see their characters in the show, I might as well give them what they want," Nyx said after changing back to her real form. "From what you've seen in the show has been implanted in your head, which the Tree of Harmony copied, and I took form of that character."

"Copying what's in my head, huh?" Aaron asked. "Impressive."

"Oh, I've been doing it for decades," Nyx said. "Anyway, go ahead and eat. The Tree told me you would all eventually come here, so I prepared for your arrival two days ago."

"When we were on our way to the Dragon Lands," Zipp said. "That was actually good timing."

"Indeed," Nyx said. "So, go ahead and eat." Aaron then looked towards the others. He then shrugged his shoulders and then they all headed for the table to get their food.

After they all had breakfast, Nyx had taken Aaron, the Young 6, the New Mane 6 and Sparky into one room. The room where the portal to Earth was.

"So, the portal to Aaron's world is in here?" Misty asked.

"Well, it was," Nyx said.

"What do you mean was?" Aaron asked. When he and the Young 6 looked towards where the left the portal in Equestria, they all gasped. They saw the portal, completely broken apart. "The portal's broken?"

"Yes," Nyx said.

"Who destroyed it?" Gallus asked. "Opaline?"

"No," Nyx answered. "Twilight did."

"Why would she do that?" Ocellus asked.

"She must've wanted us, too," Smolder said, making everyone look at her. "Since the portal leads right into our home, it'd make sense for Opaline to come straight to Earth to get the last remaining dragons from Equestria and steal their dragon fire."

"Twilight must've known that so she destroyed the portal on this side so Opaline wouldn't come after us," Aaron said.

"Exactly," Nyx said. "She was protecting you two as well. Along with your little hatchlings."

"Hatchlings?" Smolder asked. She then got a realization. "Oh, right. We would've been old enough to have kids."

"So, that means we'll have kids," Aaron said.

"Hopefully, you won't end up like your father, Aaron," Gallus said. "He wanted you dead, remember?"

"I'm not my dad," Aaron said.

"Nor will he ever be," Nyx stated.

Zipp then looked around the room. She then saw something. It seemed to be a hole where something was carved out of it. She then said, "Hey, everypony. Check this out." She then walked up to the hole in the wall and the others followed. They got a good look at it.

"That hole looks... familiar," Sunny said.

"You have got to be kidding," Aaron said. "That's the shape of the Unity Crystals. Which means they were made here."

"Well, now we know where the Crystals were made," Zipp said. "And why, because of Opaline trying to take all the magic for herself."

"And since Twilight poured all the magic into the Crystals and here, you've been taking on the duties of raising the Sun and Moon," Sunny said, looking at Nyx.

"Indeed," Nyx said.

"Did you ever go out to see what was going on during the time of no magic?" Ocellus asked.

"I have," Nyx said. "Although, I had an... interesting encounter with some random Earth Pony when I was visiting Maretime Bay at the time."

"What happened?" Misty asked.

"I was visiting Maretime Bay at the time," Nyx said. "It was night time. I was about to head back here, but this one stallion invited me over for some drinks. Although, that led to him pulling me into his bed for some... one on one time. But I was trying to tell him that I had no interest in doing it."

"He wasn't alright in his head, was he?" Aaron asked.

"No he was not," Nyx replied. "I wanted to get out of there. But he was too eager. He... tried to keep me there all night. But he had a record of trying to sleep with all the mares who were alone in Maretime Bay."

"Oh, I heard of that guy," Hitch said. "Before I became Sheriff of Maretime Bay, my Grandma Figgy told him that he used to hassle her, and bring her to his home. But luckily, my Grandpa saved her before that could happen."

"Yes, I saw that in her memories," Nyx said. "But... I wasn't so lucky. He thrust himself on me. I eventually made it outside, but he was insisting letting me stay. I eventually pulled the both of us into a nearby alley, but he was still trying to have a good time with me." She then sighed. "So, I had no choice. I showed him my true form."

"Wait a minute," Hitch said. "He died when he was hit by the tram as it was passing by. Reports said a Unicorn and a Pegasus came in that night. That was you?"

"It was," Nyx said. "Which made the Cloverleafs believe that Unicorns and Pegasi were attacking. They thought that I brainwashed that stallion into running into the tram. But he was an idiot."

"A really big idiot," Zipp said.

"I flew straight back here that night," Nyx said. "But then... a few days later... I found out I was pregnant."

"That stallion got you pregnant?" Aaron asked.

"Spike was asleep at the time, so he had no idea about it," Nyx said. "For eleven months, I had to lay low. Luckily, I had the new Earth Pony Magic to make myself food to get my through the cravings. But when I had my foal, I knew I couldn't just let her live here without anypony else to interact with when she grew up."

"What did you do?" Pipp asked.

"I... left her at the orphanage in Maretime Bay," Nyx said. "She was an Earth Pony. I even left her the true research of Equestria's past with her, but she was never allowed to open it until she was 10 years old. Then one day, many years later, she..." Nyx then started shedding tears. "...she decided to figure out why magic disappeared in the first place. She came here to the Everfree Forest. But she was ambushed my Timberwolves. I heard her screams, so I flew right towards where she was. I stopped the Timberwolves, but I was too late to save her. At least I got to see my daughter one last time before she died."

"That's so sad," Misty said.

"Very sad," Gallus said.

"Nyx... do you have a picture of her to remember her?" Aaron asked.

Nyx nodded. She then said, "Tree..." Just then, a holographic image appeared in the middle of the room. It was of Nyx's daughter. It was a pony that Sunny recognized.

Sunny gasped and said, "M-Mom?"

That made everyone else look at Sunny. Ocellus then said, "If your Mom is Nyx's daughter, that that would make you..."

"Nyx's granddaughter," Aaron said. Sunny looked up at Nyx with wide eyes.

"I should've known you were my granddaughter," Nyx said. "You share some of her features."

"Yeah," Sunny said, her Alicorn features starting to come in. "I do."

"That would explain two things," Smolder said.

"What?" Silverstream said.

"The fact she can turn into an Alicorn, and her interesting costume choice in those two Nightmare Night episodes of Tell Your Tale," Smolder answered.

"Oh, yeah," Zipp said. "Sunny dressed up as Nightmare Moon during that party."

"Although, I don't think she got the gist of how the lore of Nightmare Night was supposed to go," Sandbar said. "You're supposed to disguise yourself to hide from Nightmare Moon."

"Oh, is that how that goes," Sunny said. "For some reason, I just wanted to go as her." Nyx just laughed at that.

"So, Twilight destroyed the portal, put all the magic of Equestria into the Unity Crystals and this tree, and locked Opaline in her own castle with a magic barrier surrounding it," Aaron said. "What happened to her after all this time?"

Nyx then sighed and said, "I was hoping that you were going to ask that." She then walked out of the room. The others followed her.

They then followed Nyx into a room at the very top of the Treehouse of Harmony. When they got there, they couldn't believe what they all saw. They all gasped.

They saw Twilight Sparkle, in a position like she was flying, but she was frozen in crystal, her eyes closed. Her head was facing the door the group walked through.

"Twilight Sparkle..." Sunny said.

"Holy cow," Aaron said. "Is she still alive?"

"Yeah, she is," Nyx said. Zipp then brought out her Z-Goggles and checked out Twilight's crystallized state. She then changed the mode to heart rate mode, seeing Twilight's heart beating slowly.

"Her heart rate is slow," Zipp said. "She might be dying after all this time!"

"What?!" Nyx asked. "No!" She then fired a blast towards the Crystal, but the Crystal was being protected by a magic proof barrier. "Mom must've put a magical barrier around her in case Opaline came for her once she found a way out of the castle."

"But she should've broken down all of the barriers in Equestria when she stole my Cutie Mark," Sunny said. "How come she didn't break this one?"

"Perhaps it didn't reach this barrier in time," Misty said. "After we finally defeated her."

"But how do we get her out of there?" Smolder asked. Aaron then looked up. He then saw five familiar gems above them.

"I think I have an idea," Aaron said. "Look up." Then they all looked up. They saw five of the six Elements of Harmony. Aaron then flew up and grabbed the five gems and flew back down.

"I already tried using them," Nyx said. "They did nothing."

"Wait a minute," Aaron said. "What happened last night." He then got a realization. He then looked towards the New Mane 6. "Misty, come here." Misty then walked up to Aaron. Aaron then put the Element of Honesty on Misty's chest. It then started glowing. It then transformed into an orange butterfly gem with a green body and green spots on the wings.

"Whoa!" Misty said.

"Misty, you helped out Sunny at the cliff," Aaron said. "You were being completely honest with her as I was ready to catch her. Not only are you full of Heart, but Honesty as well." Misty smiled at that and nodded. Aaron then walked up to Hitch and put the Element of Kindness on him. It then transformed. The gem was now a kite shaped shield. "Hitch, you tamed that Manticore when you pulled that thorn out of its paw. You represent Kindness."

"Of course I do," Hitch said. He then looked at the Element. "Why does this Element have to be pink?"

"Just role with it, Trailblazer," Aaron said. He then walked towards Izzy. "Izzy, you got rid of those scary faces by laughing them away. Not only do you have such high Creativity, but you also represent the Element of Laughter." Aaron then put the Element of Laughter on Izzy's neck. It then transformed into a heart shaped gem.

"Oooh!" Izzy said. "Nice!" Aaron then walked over towards Pipp. He then put the Element of Generosity on Pipp's neck. It then transformed into a musical note with a crown shaped top.

"Pipp, you helped out that sea serpent yesterday by fixing her hair, making it as good as new," Aaron said. "You are Confident, and you also represent the Element of Generosity."

"Aw, that's so sweet," Pipp said. "Glad to be of assistance." Aaron then walked over towards Zipp and put the Element of Loyalty on her neck. It didn't change shape since Zipp's Cutie Mark was also a Lightning Bolt.

"Zipp, you were offered by fake fliers to join them, but you chose to stay with us," Aaron said.

"I had to," Zipp said. "My friends needed me more than those fake ponies did."

"And because of that, you were Brave enough to tell them no, and you now represent the Element of Loyalty," Aaron said.

"Sweet," Zipp said. She then looked down at the Element of Loyalty. "Wait, why didn't it change shape?"

"Because the last pony to represent the Element of Loyalty also had a Cutie Mark with a lightning bolt," Aaron said.

"Okay, so now what?" Sunny asked.

"Now we need the spark," Aaron said. "Sunny, time to Alicorn up." Sunny nodded. She then changed into an Alicorn. She then started flying up. "Okay, you five. Surround Twilight." The rest of the New Mane 6 ran around and stood around Twilight Sparkle in her crystallized state. Then the Elements of Harmony started glowing. Then the Elements of Harmony fired a blast straight up to the ceiling. Then the last Element, the Element of Magic, appeared. It then changed shaped into a five point star. It then went to Sunny's head and became a crown.

"Whoa!" Sunny said.

"Sunny, you knew all along that you could reunite all three pony tribes and share magic with the world," Aaron said. "You protected everypony from Opaline's wrath and brought Hope to all of Equestria. You now bare... the Element of Magic."

Sunny looked up at the Element she wore. She then gave a determined face. Then the Element of Magic started glowing. It then started releasing rainbow streams from it, the streams connecting with the Elements of Heart and Loyalty, which also connected with the Elements of Kindness and Generosity, and the streams met up with the Element of Laughter. Then the Elements fired off rainbow beams straight up, combining with each other, then they came down on top of the Crystallized Twilight Sparkle. Then the Crystal broke, releasing Twilight. But she was unconscious.

"Twilight!" Aaron shouted, running towards Twilight. He then picked her up and checked her pulse. The Young 6 walked up to the two. Aaron then looked towards them and said, "We need to get her to a hospital."

"There might be no time to get her to a working hospital," Sunny said, coming down, her Alicorn form dissipating. "How are we gonna get her to one in time?" Just then the place started shaking. "Whoa, what's happening?!"

"Earthquake!" Smolder shouted. Just then, everyone fell down to the floor. Then the shaking stopped.

"I didn't know Earthquakes happen around here," Silverstream said.

"That's 'cause, it usually doesn't," Sandbar said. "I lived in Ponyville all my life and that never happened."

"Wait," Ocellus said. She then put her left hoof to her ear. "Listen." Everyone then put their forelimb to their ears, hearing something. It was the sounds of waves crashing.

"The ocean?" Aaron asked. Then he picked up Twilight.

They all ran outside and saw that the Treehouse of Harmony was now in a new location. It was behind the Crystal Brighthouse in Maretime Bay.

"Maretime Bay?" Sunny asked.

"Quick," Hitch said. "Let's get Twilight to the hospital." Then he led them all towards town. Nyx and Spike stayed behind at the Tree of Harmony.

"Should we tell Smolder that if she gets pregnant in one form, she's stuck like that until it ends?" Nyx asked.

Spike chuckled and said, "No. Let's let them discover it for themselves."

At the Maretime Bay Hospital, Aaron, who was still carrying Twilight, the Young 6, the New Mane 6 and Sparky ran through the Emergency Room door.

"Emergency!" Hitch called out. "This pony needs medical attention immediately." That's when a couple of nurses pulling a gurney came in. Aaron then placed Twilight on it.

One of the nurses then asked, "Who is this pony?"

"That... is the Twilight Sparkle," Sunny said. "The legendary Alicorn of Equestrian History. The last Alicorn to actually face Opaline before magic vanished."

That made the nurses go wide eyed. Then the other nurse said, "She's still alive?"

"Alicorns have a longer life span than the other ponies of Equestria," Aaron said. "Nightmare Moon was on the moon for a thousand years."

"That makes sense," the first nurse said. "Alright, let's see what's wrong with her." Then they moved Twilight on the gurney towards the door. Aaron, the Young 6, the New Mane 6 and Sparky looked towards the door where they saw Twilight being pulled through. All of them are worried.

Back at the Tree of Harmony that night, Nyx was sitting on a balcony, looking down in sadness. Then Aaron and Sunny came up to her. Nyx turned her head towards the two.

"She's gonna be okay," Aaron said. "We got her there just in time."

"How is she?" Nyx asked.

"She's in a coma," Aaron said. "The doctors say they don't know how long until she wakes up."

"We were really lucky to get her there in time," Sunny said. "Hey, where did Spike go?"

"He went back to the Dragon Lands," Nyx said. "He had to continue ruling over the dragons. Although, he did leave your flying machine back over there on its landing pad."

"The Marestream," Sunny said. "We saw. Zipp and Izzy are fixing it as we speak." Just then, Sparky came in and jumped on Aaron. He giggled at the time.

"Sparky, why are you always trying to be with me and Smolder?" Aaron asked. Nyx then put a hoof to her chin to think.

"Actually, Aaron," Nyx said. "There might be a chance that Sparky just might be your descendant."

"But that's impossible," Aaron said. "How long was it since Ragnarok that Opaline attacked a long time ago?"

"Fifteen years," Nyx said.

"Huh," Aaron said. "I was expecting at least twenty during the series finale of G4."

"You were close," Nyx said. "But maybe... there could've been another way to get here from your world and time, just later. But first..." Nyx then levitated Sparky off of Aaron. Sparky was confused by that. Nyx then walked into the Tree. Aaron and Sunny followed.

Later, Nyx, who was still carrying Sparky in her magic, Aaron, the Young 6 and the New Mane 6 walked into a room where a tree like decoration was, and a platform underneath. It seemed to be a family tree scanner, detecting the direct ancestors of those who step on the circle on the floor in front of it. There were circles of each ancestor on the tree, showing who the father and mother of each figure in the family tree, the males being in a blue circle and the females in a pink circle.

"What is that?" Zipp asked.

"It's a family tree scanner," Nyx said. "It shows who their ancestors are by standing on that circle." She then placed Sparky on the circle. "Stay, Sparky."

Sparky tilted his head to his left. Then the Family Tree Scanner started glowing. It then showed the ancestors of Sparky on the tree. It showed on the mother's side of the family being dragons only. But on the father's side, only the father of Sparky was a dragon while the rest of the family was human.

"No... way..." Aaron said. He then saw the parents of Sparky. The father was a jade dragon with brown spines on his head while the mother was an orange dragon with purple spines on her head. "Sparky is..."

"Our son?!" Smolder asked. Sparky then ran off the circle, jumped up into Smolder's arms and snuggled into her chest.

"But that's impossible," Aaron said. "How could this have happened?"

"That's a new mystery," Zipp said. "Although, it does explain why Sparky has wings. Since you skipped the Molt when you became a dragon, that's probably why Sparky has wings after he hatched."

"So... does that mean that Sparky has to leave with them?" Hitch asked, walking up to Sparky. Sparky looked towards Hitch with a smile.

"No," Smolder said. "We can't take Sparky with us. We're too young to raise him."

"Smolder's right," Aaron said. "Besides, we haven't exactly made him yet."

"Oh, so you know how it works, huh?" Nyx asked with a smug look.

"My Uncle Jerry gave me that talk when my Aunt Marissa and I brought her with us to DC," Aaron said. "I told him we weren't gonna go that far... yet."

"Good call," Smolder said. "Besides, we haven't reached the proper age for that yet."

"Alright, Sparky," Hitch said. "Let's go home." Smolder then put Sparky on Hitch's back. Then the two walked out of there.

"Alright, everyone," Sunny said. "Back to the Brighthouse."

"Good call," Zipp said. "Izzy and I got to get back to fixing the Marestream tomorrow."

"Hang on," Aaron said. "Before we go..." He then pulled Izzy towards the Family Tree Scanner and put her on the circle. Then it showed Izzy's family tree, identifying her family by the Cutie Marks. They all looked at Izzy's family tree, and on Izzy's Mom's side of the family, there was two familiar Cutie Marks. One being of three balloons, two being blue and one being yellow. The other was of a grilled cheese sandwich. "I knew it."

"Izzy is Pinkie Pie's descendant after all," Silverstream said.

"She was clearly giving off signs of it," Gallus said.

"Okay, everypony," Sunny said. "Back inside the Brighthouse." Then everyone left. Sunny stayed behind to look at Nyx. "You coming?"

"No," Nyx said. "My home is here in the Tree of Harmony. I must continue my duties of watching over Every pony in Equestria." She then looked towards Sunny. "But I am glad you're here for me, Sunny."

"Of course... Grandma," Sunny said. Then the two nuzzled each other. Then Sunny left the Tree of Harmony, heading back to the Brighthouse.
