Finishing off his latest shift, Spell Break, exhausted from his duties, was looking for Celestia. After his shift, the only thing on his mind was to let out this pent-up tension built over the last several hours in her royal pussy. But strangely, she wasn’t in her usual place. “Cadance, I am a patient mare. And I know we have had disagreements on this.” Celestia commented, sighing as she drank what seemed to be a cup of tea with her niece. “But this has gone on for far too long. You need to settle down and establish the Crystal Empire.”
“Auntie Celestia, we’ve been over this a dozen times over.” Cadance sighed, putting down her own cup of tea. “I don’t want to just settle for some…some stallion, let alone have his foal. What form of Love is that?”
“It’s not about Love, it’s about Tradition.” Celestia replied, sighing as she rubbed her temples. “Look, I understand you’re in love with that mare…what was her name…” Snapping her fingers, it came back to her. “Oh yes! Gleaming Shield. And that’s all well and good. I’m not against your relationship. But tradition states, you must have a foal and be married to a stallion to secure a royal line. After that, then you can have your marefriend without issue, albeit as a mistress.”
“But I want Gleaming to be my wife, not my mistress.” Cadance countered, looking at her aunt with defiance. “You’re literally the ruler of Equestria. Don’t you make the laws? Can’t you just change it?”
As stated, this is a conversation that both aunt and niece has had multiple times since Cadance was still in Highschool and they always ended badly every single time. More often than not, Celestia would encourage her niece to find a stallion to marry, even just for appearances, sire an heir, and then she’d be able to have her marefriend. Cadance of course refused this every time, claiming she wasn’t going to fuck anyone she couldn’t trust, let alone have their foals. This was a repeated debate with hardly anything being resolved.
“Cadance, that’s a major lesson you’ll learn once you rule your own kingdom.” Celestia sighed, though her tone was more annoyed at the situation than her niece. “You can have all the power, but it takes dozens of nobles to help keep a kingdom running. Appeasement is never clean, or fun. But it is necessary in order for a kingdom and its people to prosper. As I had made sure to teach you in the past, “The heart of good leadership is sacrifice.” If you desire to become the best leader you can be, then you need to be willing to make sacrifices in order to lead well. Leaders must be willing to give up more than the people they lead. For every person, the nature of the sacrifice may be different. Everyone who leads gives up other opportunities. Some people have to give up beloved hobbies. Many give up aspects of their personal lives." Celestia face begins to sadden. "One such leader even had to banish their one and only family away for a thousand years, just to keep her people safe." Celestia takes another sip of her tea before continuing. "The circumstances are different from creature to creature, but the principle doesn’t change. “Leadership means sacrifice.”
"I know that Auntie." Cadance said. "I'm not an idiot. I'm very well aware of how the law of sacrifice works. For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something. ‘Life is a series of trades, one thing for another.' Leaders must give up, going up. That’s true of every leader regardless of profession. Effective leaders sacrifice much that is good in order to dedicate them to what is best. Leaders are often asked to give up more than others. The hearts of leadership is putting others ahead of yourself. It’s doing what is best for the team. For the reason, I believe that leaders have to give up their rights. As Gerald Books, leadership speaker and pastor once said, “When you become a leader, you lose the right to think about yourself."
Celestia couldn't help but smile proudly at her niece. Thanks to these arguments Cadance would always acts like a bratty princess. It's because of that, Celestia would sometimes forget how mature and wise Cadance has truly become over the years. It's understandable that Cadance absolutely despises the very idea of having to marry a stallion, due to her pure absolute disgust and hatred towards the opposite sex as a whole.
Cadance’s attitude towards the opposite sex is a well-known feature of the mare’s personality. There's not a pony alive who doesn't know Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, The Untouchable Mare.
The untouchable mare was a title that was given to Cadance back when she was in High School. Cadance wasn't afraid to let her hatred towards Stallions known, looking down on all of them as if they were nothing but garbage, which made every single one of them too scared to ever try and approach her. Many would question as to why the princess of love would have such hatred towards the opposite sex. Though she would never say it out loud, the answer was a simple one. Because all stallions are one in the same. Nothing but a bunch of disgusting horny pigs who only cares about getting in a girl's pants.
Cadance knows all too well that every stallion who sees her passing by are constantly checking her out with their lecherous eyes. If it wasn't for the circumstances she was trapped in, Cadance wouldn't hesitate to announce to the world of her relationship, but there are two very important reasons why their relationship must always remain a secret at all times. The first is because of those damn nobles and their backwards way of thinking. The second...... Is not important right now.
Anyway, Celestia is happy that Cadance understands what it means to be a leader. She has no doubt that the citizens of the very soon to return Crystal Empire will be well taken care of under her rule. She's definitely proven herself that she's more than capable of running a kingdom of her own and that assurance made the Sun Monarch even more proud.
"Spoken, like the true leader, I know you'll become. I'm very proud of you, Princess Cadance." Celestia said as she bowed her head in respect.
"Thank you, Princess Celestia." Cadance said, also bowing her head in the same manner. "That means a lot coming from you."
"So, since you understand what it means to be a leader. I'm guessing you'll finally choose a noble stallion to marry?"
"Oh, hell no, you can take that idea and shove it up Blueblood's ass." Cadance retorted while crossing her arms. "I'm not going to marry a single one of those fuckers and that's final."
Celestia couldn't help but let a sigh of pure frustration. She should have known it was too good to be true. No matter how wise and mature her niece has become, she will still act like a bratty princess about this. Even Spell Break, who was secretly watching shook his head in disappointment. He had seen and heard this story enough times over the years to know how this conversation will inevitably end, plus he shouldn't be eavesdropping any way. So, he decided to leave and give the two their privacy and return later. Hopefully by the time he comes back, they will be done with their talk and Celestia would be alone so that the two of them can spend some time alone together.
Sighing again, she continued. “Surely, there has to be some stallion, any stallion amongst the nobles who has caught your eye?”
“Not. A. Damn. One. I don’t want any of them.” Cadance protested. “They’re greedy, scheming, and would see me more as some sex slave than a wife. I’ve seen the “love” between their parents, and the wife is almost always miserable, only smiling through a facade." Cadance glares at her aunt as she continues to remain defiant. "You preach about how a leader must make sacrifices for their people, but that doesn't mean jack shit in this situation. You know just as well as I do that this so called "tradition." Is nothing more than an underhanded tactic that the nobles are CLEARLY abusing, so they can become royalty." Cadance anger was boiling over as she remembered the annoying, frustrating, agonizing events from her past. "When you first brought me here to Canterlot after I ascended. I had a flood of noble sons from far and wide, constantly trying to court me. There was literally not a single day that I wasn't being hounded by those bastards. And no matter how many times I politely rejected them, they wouldn't take no for an answer, mainly because they know that in the end I would be forced to make a choice. Because of that, they would keep on coming back, again and again, day after day after day after day after day after day AFTER DAAAAY!!!! Trying to get me to marry one of them in the future."
Cadance takes a moment to try and calm herself before continuing. "Oh, sure they would all be nice and friendly to me, but I know for a fact that it's all bullshit! I can literally see their emotions thanks to my love field and the aura surrounding every single one of those pieces of shits had the same colors radiating from them. Gold and purple. Which shows both their greed and lust." Cadance couldn't help but shiver at the thought. "You and I both know that the reason they all keep coming to me like that is because of that damn law. I need to marry and produce an heir with a member of nobility. You long since fulfilled that obligation when you married Sir Blueblood a thousand years ago. With your bloodline secured, there's no reason for you to marry another noble and it's because of that, that Luna doesn't have too neither. And everypony knows that despite our relationship as aunt and niece, we're not actually blood related. Me being your adopted niece obviously doesn't protect me from having to marry one of those fuckers."
Cadance continues. "Ever since that very first day I was introduced as a new alicorn princess, those greedy bastards saw not a pony, but an object, their platinum ticket that will guarantee their place among royalty just like the bluebloods. I'm literally nothing more than an ultra super rare, once in a millennia opportunity for them to achieve what they long thought was no longer possible." Cadance clenches her fists in deep anger of it all. "There's no way in Tartarus I'm going to let a single one of those pieces of shits use me like that. I absolutely refuse to give a single damn one of them the opportunity. So, how dare you?" She says through gritted teeth. "All of you. Going around deciding my future?" Cadance slams a fist on the table before bellowing. "I'M NOT A PRIZE TO BE WON, CELESTIA!!!!"
After hearing her niece's tirade, Celestia knew she couldn't push the issue anymore, for Cadance was absolutely right about the nobility and the sun monarch knows it. They are just a bunch of greedy, power hungry, fools who only cares about trying to dominate over the other in what is called The Game.
The Game is what the nobles and the powerful do among themselves, the ambitious and influential ones play against each other. The nobles pretend to smile and greet each other, laugh at stupid jokes, and even call each other friends. In truth they are trying to destroy each other for prestige. Who has the better lands. Who has the better business and has more success. Who gains more favor with Celestia. But of course, she never played the game at the level the lower rank nobles played, as anyone who tried with ill intentions would commit political suicide. The only thing that keeps the nobles from using more underhanded means of gaining rank and power is the consequences that will happen to them when she finds out. Celestia had strip entire clans of their titles and wealth before, and no noble clan has dared to do anything to displease her.
But just because the nobility couldn't use underhanded means to gain power, doesn't mean they can't do so legally, and in a way that the princess doesn't have much of a choice in.
As Celestia said. Ruling a kingdom was not an easy occupation. Even back when both she and Luna ruled side by side, they needed the aid of the unicorn nobility, wealthy businessponies, and not to mention the delegates from other nations. All things the sun monarch has been drilling into the princess of love's mind since day one, that includes the fact that she has to marry one of those greedy pieces of shits.
Because of tradition. A princess must be wed to a stallion noble and produce an heir in order to secure a royal bloodline. Something Celestia had done hundreds of moons ago when she married Sir Blueblood. At a glance, the whole thing seems innocent enough, but in truth, it was just the nobility underhanded way to give them a chance at reaching the ultimate pinnacle of power in the kingdom. Royalty. Cadance wasn't wrong about the "Being a prize to be won," bit, because that's exactly what the nobles saw her as. A lottery prize that any one of them could win, thus gaining a higher level of power for their family, as well as the greatest trophy wife of them all.
Though it's true that the nobility is just using Cadance for this once in a lifetime opportunity to become royalty, it doesn't change the fact that Cadance still needs an heir. Her having a foal is the main purpose after all. So, maybe they can come up with a solution that the princess of love will be satisfied with.
“Okay, okay…well…what if there was a way to have both?” Celestia proposed, rubbing her chin as she pondered some of her thoughts. “You want to be with Gleaming, and that’s fine. But how about we try just getting a surrogate to impregnate you, and once the foal is born, then you can just leave him and have Gleaming for yourself.” Celestia explains. "I just now realized a loophole in the law and that is the law itself. As it is an "Equestrian" law." Celestia gives Cadance a moment to calm down and think about what the sun monarch just said. "Remember what you said earlier about me changing the law?"
“You’re literally the ruler of Equestria. Don’t you make the laws? Can’t you just change it?”
"Though I am the ruler of this of this kingdom, I can't just change the law at a whim whenever I want. No ruler can nor should, as it is a great abuse of power. It's literally no different than how I run my school. Sure, I can run it in any way I see fit but only as long as I stay within the boundaries of the EEA's standards. Anyway, my point is that the law, as the tradition are only national, not international."
Cadance eyes widen in surprise at the realization.
"Yes, you're getting it." Celestia said. "Though you still have to get married to a stallion I'm afraid, there's no avoiding that. But you're technically not obligated to stay married to him. Because you're not actually an Equestrian princess. I mean, you are now in every sense of the word, but you and I both know that won't last much longer, because only the two of us knows what will be returning soon."
"The Crystal Empire!"
Celestia nodded. "Though the Empire and Equestria were joined allied kingdoms before it's disappearance by the hands of Queen Sombra. That doesn't mean we share the same laws. As your predecessor,
Princess Amore
Wasn't married, let alone bared foals of her own before her death by Sombra's hands." Celestia let out sigh. "In her kingdom, the power of love is what gives the empire its power as the magic of friendship does for Equestria, but Equestria is a far bigger kingdom then the Empire. It's basically a small city and everypony knows everypony because of it. I won't say it's perfect, but the Empire nobility does lack the issues the Equestrian nobility have. They're not as greedy and are willing to help their queen keep their home running." Celestia let out a chuckle as a thought came to her. "The Empire is hardly any different from Ponyville in that aspect."
"Anyway, let's get back on topic." Celestia said. "Since you will be moving to the Empire once it returns and become its new ruler. The second you take the throne; you can divorce the stallion you married and leave him with nothing in return. As you are no longer bound by Equestrian laws or traditions anymore and the nobles can't do jack shit about it. The only reason you have to marry a stallion any way is because you need an heir. As I told you earlier you must have a foal and be married to a stallion to secure a royal line. Princess Amore was killed before she even got the chance, and it was because of her untimely death that the nobles back then made the law and started the tradition in the first place."
Cadance shook her head in disbelief. "I can't believe they would sink so low as to use Amore's death and lack of an heir as a chance to for them to gain the highest form of power." Cadance said with disgust in her voice.
Celestia sighed before taking a sip of her tea to calm her nerves. "I know how you feel, Cadance, trust me, I do. But I only agreed to it for the security of Equestria. As I said before, you can have all the power, but it takes dozens of nobles to help keep a kingdom running. Appeasement is never clean, or fun. But it is necessary in order for a kingdom and its people to prosper.“

Celestia nodded. "I knew I was just being used to help whoever I chose to marry gain power, but I couldn't let my personal feelings get in the way of what's needed to be done. If something were to happen to me, I can rest assure knowing that somepony in my bloodline will take up the torch and keep Equestria going. That was something needed of me, and it's needed of you too. I know you really don't want to Cadance, I know. But unlike me, you have a way out that doesn't require waiting for your husband to grow old and die. You don't have to stay with him. All you have to do is marry a stallion, get pregnant, and once the foal is born, you can just leave him and have Gleaming for yourself.”
“It’s…it’s not like that idea isn’t tempting, because it is.” Cadance explained, sighing a little, but clearly pondering something. “What if we found a way to do both?” Before Celestia could respond, she continued. “What if I become impregnated by a stallion that Gleaming and I trust. And then, once an heir is confirmed, she and I can get officially married?”
“That answers the first problem, but what about the notion of marrying the stallion who impregnates you?” Celestia asked, raising a curious eyebrow. “I know I said you can dump him afterwards, but a royal wedding would still be required.”
“That’s the best part, we can have both, and I wouldn’t be touched by a single filthy noble stallion.” Cadance commented, feeling more smug than confident in her explanation. “You see, Gleaming and I have…experimented…with some spells, and one we found will give her the illusionary impression of a stallion.”
“So, you would marry your marefriend, but publicly showcase her as a stallion?” Celestia asked, only to smile. “Clever, that is very clever. And with my backing, nopony would openly question it. But the problem is, you said illusionary. So, this means you would still require a real stallion for the foal to be sired.” But before she continued, she noticed a shift in her niece’s posture. “Oh? Do you already have someone in mind?”
“I do. Though I only wanted to consider him as a last resort.” Cadance said, sighing a little. Finishing her drink, she put her cup down. “In my time knowing him, he is kind, caring, compassionate, dutiful, and overall, understand a deep and complex love that few stallions can understand.”
“Sounds like a suitable stallion.” Celestia replied with a small hum, finishing her own tea. “And you’re certain you cannot simply marry this stallion instead?”
“I cannot.” Cadance replied, her face becoming a little more serious. “You see, he’s already taken, but I am confident his marefriend wouldn’t be against him impregnating me.” Her lips curled into a mischievous smile. “After all, you let him knock up Luna and deflower your student.”
That caught Celestia by surprise, for she knew exactly who the stallion her niece was referring to. It was none other than the Sun monarch's long time secret lover, a royal guard, a grey unicorn named Spell Break.
The two had been together for a very long time, roughly a little under a decade since he joined the guard, and becoming Celestia’s secret lover. Spell Break was no longer the same young stallion he once was. The years have been very kind to him, helping him rise through the ranks of the guard to be a young lieutenant, and was just hitting the end of his late twenties. As well as this, it had seemed that his seed had been a lot more potent than even Celestia thought back then. Aside from the most trusted of her personal aids, Celestia confided her secret lover to Cadance. The pink alicorn, at the time had just graduated highschool, with her own secret lover, the athletic mare, Gleaming Shield, and was fully supportive of her aunt, and Spell’s affair. Though he wasn’t privy to everything related to the politics of Canterlot, but that was ok, his true calling was being a royal guard not a politician and he was damn good at what he does. That and among other things he greatly excels at. Due to his years of outstanding service. There's already talk about nominating him to be the next Captain of the Royal Guard, after the current Captain, Captain Shield Crush, retires.
Cadance knowing about Celestia's relationship with Spell was obviously of no surprise, but her knowing that her lover had fuck both her sister and student and knowing that the former was knock up by him definitely was. Celestia knows full well she hadn't told her niece about Luna's pregnancy, let alone that she allowed Twilight to have sex with him as well. So how did she come across such knowledge?

Cadance nodded. "She told both Gleaming and I everything that happened that day when you summoned her to the castle to receive her," Cadance smile grew bigger. "Proper Reward."
"Did she now." Celestia said in a tone of disbelief and a raised eyebrow. "Excuse my rudeness, Cadance, but I find that hard to believe."
"So, you didn't do something as scandalous, such as letting Spell fuck you in your throne room in front of everyone, as he sat in your throne hidden behind a few illusion spells and your royal gown, as you sat on his dick and rode him for hours as you held court."
Celestia eyes widen in absolute shock after hearing Cadance describes one of hers and Spell's sexual adventures. That particular one happened right before her latest pregnancy. Anyway, let's get back on track. So, Twilight told Cadance everything about how Celestia is willing to share her lover with Luna.
Following the short-term incursion of Nightmare Moon, only to be defeated by Twilight and the mythical Elements of Harmony, the return of Princess Luna, brought immense joy to Celestia’s life.

So, no oaths or bonds have been broken if he impregnates my sister. That said, I recall you giving him certain looks when you were younger.” Continuing on, she walked a few paces ahead of Twilight, whose mouth was hanging agape.

Cadance and Gleaming did as they were told as they simultaneously laid back. Twilight was in pure concentration mode as she began the process. Now for the final stage. As her horn brighten once more, the blue light in Twilight's right hand started to flow into Cadance.
