Princess Luna knows the difference between a dream and a nightmare. Dreams are peaceful things, that set the mind of the dreamer at ease. Sometimes they are pleasurable, and sometimes they are empowering. Sometimes they are enlightening, and help the sleeper face the waking world with renewed vigour and conviction.

Nightmares, on the other hand, instill fear and dread. They inflict misery upon the sleeper, and are filled with visions of death, pain, and horror. Although the details might differ, it is always easy to tell the difference between the two. Even the stranger dreams, where the line becomes muddled.

What is Luna supposed to do, when at the far corner of her domain, she finds a sleeper whose dreams and nightmares are one and the same? What can she hope to do to help a young colt who finds peace in madness and suffering? Is there even anything that can be fixed?
