A promise is something that can rewrite an entire conversation, a collage of imaginary pictures that overwrite the good and the bad, letting a few words take center stage for however long they stay true. Though promises can easily lead to disappointment, a tipping point at which a set of words is smaller than the conversation it was once surrounded by.

And only is it that a promise can renew a broken one, if willing enough to dig deep and try again. A freefall, if you will, connecting one soul with another via one stupid word.

A word that has the potential to define an entire lifetime.
