The Blessing: A Second Chance Chapter 9: Celestia
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThere had been a disturbance, she had felt it.
It was rare that she would sense anything disrupt the harmony that surrounded Luna and herself. The flow of magic in Equestia was always in motion, sometimes forming currents and eddies around important and seemingly insignificant events. She could feel the twinge of the embodiments of the Elements of Harmony when they interacted, and the coarse touch of the wild Everfree forest thriving inside her shared kingdom. However, the disturbance she had felt six days ago was much different, an event on the scale of the return of one of her immortal enemies, or Twilight Sparkle's magical flair that first brought the gifted filly to her attention. But unlike those events, this one had the chill of the void that rests between worlds, and the feel of old magic that she wielded ages ago.
It didn't last long, maybe a few seconds, but events of this magnitude had always foreshadowed catastrophe in the past.
It had taken her those six days to identify the physical location where the disturbance occurred, she had never had to track down one of these events before, and its quickly fading effects made it that much more difficult to pin point.
The disturbance had originated in Sweet Apple Acres. Which would explain why its occurrence had gone unreported.
This couldn't be a coincidence. The event that had happened there aeons ago was one of the turning points for Equestria. The magical event that she and her sister had created there was so massive and profound that no amount of time would ever be able to heal the scars they left there. She and her sister had never told anypony what had happened there, all those aeons ago.
“Claymore.” she called to her personal guard.
A gray stallion in gold armor opened the door and stepped inside. His cutie mark was that of a long-handled broadsword. He stood to attention before replying.
“Your Highness?”
“Make preparations for my chariot to leave tomorrow.”
With a nod, Claymore stepped outside and went to carry out her orders.
Celestia stood in silent contemplation.
'They cannot be allowed back here.' she thought to herself.
She only hoped she wasn't too late.
