Spike and Rarity's secret

If you were to tell Spike drake solàr that he would be best friends with world renowned heroes, become a national hero himself, and that his best friend would become a official princess...he would probably call you crazy.

But after the past two years after moving to ponyville with his best friend Twilight Sparkle, his life had been full of excitement! ...for the most part. Even though he wasn't there when Nightmare Moon had returned and didn't directly help in the second defeat of Discord, he still had some pretty impressive achievements of his own. Like helping defeat King sombra and rescuing the crystal heart, or his most recent achievement, saving equestria, and more importantly, Rarity from the nightmare forces that ingulfed princess luna over a thousand years before!

Spike can say that now he definitely worked for his hero title now. And if all that wasn't exciting enough for him, Twilight had ascended into an alicorn and became the princess of friendship! Which was exciting...at first. After a while, he noticed that her new princess dutys had taken all of her time that she didn't spend time with him as before. Or with the others as much either, so he wasn't alone in that boat. He just wished that something would preoccupie his mind and forget about Twilight out growing him.

Two weeks after Twilight became princess

Spike was doing Twilight's errands for her as she's dealing with political issues that Princess Celestia needed help with. With made sense to him. While growing up in cantrlot, he saw his mom, the princess herself, getting stressed about the overwhelming amount of paperwork she had to do for the day court. The only thing he did in dose days was to run over and hug her leg to help comfort her. She loved the gesture and would levitate him to give him a hug of her own. Those days, he had missed a lot.

But now Twilight was in the same boat now, and now he knew that she needed space to concentrate on the paperwork she needed to do. He felt bad he couldn't help his best friend out as much since they still had a library to run in golden oak library, so he had to hold down the fort until the day was done. Luckily, the library was closed due to all of the political work Twilight was doing, but still, he wished she had spent time with him and her friends more than now.

Spike had returned and put everything away when he saw Twilight working on her bedroom desk. She hadn't moved from their in two days and was worried about her health. Twilight, however, could sense her little brother/best friends worry and decided to take a few minute break to reassure him that she was fine. "Welcome back, Spike! Did you get everything?"

Spike felt a little better that Twilight wasn't working on feums and said, "Of course I got everything. I AM your number one assistant after all, right?" Feeling confident about himself.

Twilight giggled at Spike, knowing that she couldn't have a better assistant than Spike. She remembered that the Princess wanted to give her Several high grade assistants that could help her with her new dutys as princess and run the library, of course she refused as she said that Spike was the only one for her. And she had hugged him tight to show proof she was serious.

Spike decided to say, "So Twilight, you done with all those papers about the pony village in the mountains?" Spike knew about her work about a pony village that seemed to be different then other villages she'd seen in the Plaines and Princess Celestia asked her to look into them as she never noticed this new village before.

Twilight looked frustrated and said, "I wish. But this new village that popped up is seriously giving me a headache. I might have to go up there and see what exactly they have to offer.

Spike began to worry, saying, "What?! But what if they decided to keep you and make you their queen?!"

Twilight chuckled and said, "You've been reading alien invasion comics again, haven't you?"

"Maybe..."

Twilight gave a reassuring look and said "look I know you're worried for my safety, and I appreciate that. But did you forget that I'm the element of magic? I can defend myself if things go wrong."

Spike still looked concerned. Even though he knew she was powerful, she still lacked the numbers in case there was an army she's facing.

Twilight as if she was reading his mind said, "If it will ease your mind, I'll ask fluttershy and Applejack to come with me. Applejack's strength will prove useful up there, and fluttershy can calm them down if things get out of hand. Not to mention that she can use the stare if push came to shove."

That helped Spike calm down as she knew she was in capable hoofs with Applejack. And fluttershy may seem scared, but she can fight when needed. He still asked, "Think you can use a big, strong, and tough dragon guarding you?"

"Oh, you know one? Is he nice?"

Spike frowned at that joke, and he said, "Really?"

"I'm only kidding Spike. However, I need you to stay in ponyville until we get back." She said with a gentle voice.

Spike gasped and said, "What?! Why?!"

"The temperatures will be much colder than your use, too. I know you can breathe fire, but even dragons have a limit to the cold. I just want you to stay safe."

Spike grunted. But understood. Harsh cold was my of the few things that can be deadly for dragons. Which is why they love near volcanos. To constantly keep warm.

Twilight felt bad for Spike but she had to be adamant about her Decision. She then said. "I plan on leaving by the end of the week so you can relax." Spike still had a sour look on his face and Twilight decided that there was one thing that can make him happy. "Spike. Why don't you go and see Rarity? I know you always like visiting her."

That got Spike out of his funk! A chance to see his princess was something he ALWAYS looked for. So he said "Thanks Twilight! I'll be back on tonight!" He rushed off to carousel boutique as he said bye to Twilight. Twilight then said "I can ask fluttershy and Applejack tomorrow about the trip in the mountains. And better prepare for the trip myself."

Spike processed to head to carousel boutique, the home of the best fashion designer in ponyville and his crush, Rarity bell. He enjoyed helping her with her dresses but now he drew the line at being used as a pincushion. He was sore for weeks after that.

When he arrived, he noticed that the blinds were shut, and the sign on her door said 'closed'. Spike got worried so he knocked on her door and said "Rarity? Are you ok?"

He then heard a scared voice saying "S-Spike?!" She then sounded panicked and said "d-don't come in! I don't want you to see me like this!"

Spike was getting worried and decided against his better judgment saying "Rarity, I'm your friend. And as your friend, i respect your judgment, but I'm too worried about you! So I'm coming in!" Spike remembered her spare key hidden under her welcome mat, unlocked the door, and made he was in.

Inside, everything was dark. No lights, no nothing. He noticed Rarity's bedroom door a cracked open and said "Rarity? Please answer me. I'm worried about you."

"Spike please! Please don't come in! I don't want to scare you!"

"Rarity! I haven't seen you out of the boutique in two days! I'm seriously worried! I hope you can forgive me, but I'm coming in!"

"Spike NO!!!"

It was too late. When Spike ran in, he saw something he never expected to see again. Rarity...turned back into her Nightmare form! She was Nightmare Rarity again! ...but something was different this time. She didn't attack him as soon as he entered the room. She was terrified, saddened, ashamed. Nothing like how she was before on the moon.

Rarity on the other hoof, was shocked that Spike barged in even though she told him not too, but also horrified that he saw her like this again. She cried as Spike approached her saying "Rarity. Are you ok?" Rarity looked at him confused saying. "Y-you recognize me Spike?"

Spike smiled and said "of course I recognize you Rarity! After everything we've been though? I thought you would have more faith in me then that?" As Spike said that last part he admittedly felt a little hurt that she didn't think he would know.

Rarity saw the hurt in his eyes and hugged him tight and said "im so sorry Spike! It's just after the first time I transformed into this form, I thought you would think I turned evil again. I didn't want to see you terrified of me again." She said sadly as a tear came down her face.

Spike wiped the tear from for eye and said " don't worry Rarity, I understand what you mean. It's like if I turned into my giant dragon form and was aware of myself, I probably would be afraid you'd think of me as evil too."

Rarity looked at Spike hurt and said "Spike! You were not evil! Your greed took control that day! And we've forgave you that day! I never want you to say you were evil ever again!"

Spike smiled and said "well it's the same with you right? You weren't in control that day and it was the nightmare force influence that was controlling you. So if I'm not evil then your not evil either! At worse, we're both technically reformed villains."

Rarity thought about what Spike said and realized that he has a point. At the least, there was something about being a reformed villain that feel...invigorating. Spike knew that feeling. Even though the both of them would never want to return to being villains again, there's something about having that title of being a reformed villain that felt earned. That it was there thing, something that Rainbow dash, fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie pie, and even Twilight never had experienced.

She turned to Spike and said "Thank you Spike. I needed to hear that. Fellow reformed villain." Rarity giggled as she hugged him

Spike loved the embrace but had to ask " Rarity. How did you get your Nightmare form back? I thought we destroyed it when we rescued you from its influence?"

Rarity was puzzled herself. She thought all the nightmare force was gone from her system when Twilight gave her a magical scan. She then said " I'm not so sure Spike. I remember I was working on my newest fashion line. I took a break when I opened the blind in my bedroom to let the moonlight in. I saw a purple glow from the moon and all of a sudden, I felt a surge of pain and began to transform into my nightmare form. I thought I wad gonna lose my mind like before, but instead I didn't feel it's influence on me. In fact, I didn't have any corruption from my transformation this time. When I opened my eyes, I was aware of my surroundings, my consciousness, my free will. I felt like...me."

Spike had a idea of what's going on. But he needed to test something to see. " Rarity can I get a good look at you?"

Rarity blushed and said "Spike, I know you think am beautiful, but this is no time to for flirting you know~ *wink*"

He can tell Rarity was feeling better by her teasing and said "Very funny Rarity. I just need to see if something changed from the last time."

Rarity nodded in agreement and Let Spike inspect her. He looked around any outstanding changes that the form made. As he was looking, he had to admit that this form of Rarity's was hot. Her horn was a little longer then normal, her body had grown more Muscular like a earth pony, and her wings glowed a deep purple that looked elegant,yet mysterious...wait WINGS?! Spike did a double take to make sure he wasn't seeing things. He saw correct, a pair of wings were on Rarity's sides and looked about the size as Twilight's wings if he had to guess. "Rarity...y-you have wings!"

Rarity head turned quickly and said "wait WHAT?!" She then saw her new wings and was stunned. "W-wings...i-i have wings... I didn't have those before."

Spike decided to feel the wings to see if there real, and he was right. They were soft to the touch like Twilight's wings are.

"I think this proves it Rarity. Somehow... you Ascended into a alicorn!"

"Wait what?! B-but how?! I didn't see princess Celestia in my room or did the spell twilight did when she ascend! How is this possible?!"

Spike thought about how this was possible too. From what he knew about the ascending Process, it took a alicorn and her student being in the realm of the alicorns for the ritual to work. Was there another way to turn into alicorn without the ritual? He then had a theory. "Rarity. It could have been the nightmare force that triggered your ascertain into alicornhood."

Rarity looked confused saying "what do you mean Spike? I was influenced by the nightmare force before and I was normal afterwards."

"Well, what was different THIS time around?"

Rarity thought about it and said "well when I felt the pain and saw the nightmare force trying to take over again, I fought back this time. Last time, I was caught off guard, and it took me by surprise. This time I felt it coming and fought for control over my body. I thought of sweetie bell, our friends, but what gave me the strength to break what was left of the corruption...was you Spike."

Spike blushed at what she said as she continued. "I didn't want you to be munipaled by the nightmare forces again, so I fought with all my strength of will against it and broke free of the corruption. The pain I felt faded and I felt...refreshed. Like I was feeling joy and happiness balancing with my sadness and anger. And all of them melted into one blissful feeling. When I opened my eyes I was what you see me now."

Spike then had a solid idea about what happened and said " I think fighting the corruption WAS your test. Since the nightmare force originally came from princess luna, the nightmare force was probably enfused with part of princess luna's alicorn power. That's probably why she needed to stay in cantrlot to recover her powers. When you broke its corruption, that alicorn power needed to go somewhere. So since you broke the corruption pressure of it, it saw you as worthy and ascended you into a alicorn and also gave you control of your nightmare form."

Rarity had to take a minute to process what Spike told him. Her desire to stay with her friends was enough to ascend her into a alicorn and now what she feared in the past, her nightmare form, was hers and hers alone to control. She soon said "so...I'm a alicorn...but not a princess?"

"Not really. Sure you ascended into a alicorn, but not by the ritual that makes you a princess. So technically...your a alicorn...without a crown."

Rarity thought about it. And said "it's not important if I'm a princess or not."

Spike was shocked and said "but I thought you always wanted to be married to a prince and to be a princess?" He said it a bit hurt Cas of the thought of Rarity leaving them and that he knew he stood no chance at being with her.

Rarity looked at Spike hurt and sad, she had an idea of his crash on her, but didn't know the depths it went until Spike's first birthday in ponyville, when he reverted back to normal after remembering her, but it was especially clear to her when he risked his life to save her from the nightmare force. She never told anypony, but ever since that day, she has had strong feelings for Spike. So strong that she'd turn down every stallion for the past 3 months. So she hugged Spike and said "I may have thought marrying a prince would glorious. But now i realize that im not cut out to be a princess. I have my growing fashion business that keeps me busy enough as it is. And it'll keep me from see you all as much as i want. I may not be a princess Spike...but you'll always be my prince." She kissed him on the cheek and giggled as stared at her googly eyed.

Spike, after breaking the trans said "you know Rarity, Twilight has a invention that might help you figure out how strong you are."

Rarity looked puzzled and said "hmm? What invention?"

"Well, back when she was a unicorn, she would practice more then tricks and transformation spells. She would also train her combat spells too. To gadge how strong she's gotten, she invented a machine that read her magical impulses and gadges how strong she is."

Rarity was impressed to say the least but had to ask "How dose that help me now that I'm a alicorn?"

Spike then puffed out his chest and said " I can upgrade it to gadge an alicorns abilities, so we can figure out how much potential you have . it'll also Monitor your health to see that their isn't any side effects from your ascension into alicornhood."

Rarity was touch how much trouble Spike was going though for her. "How was I blessed to have a amazing young dragon like you as my friend Spike?"

"Just lucky I guess? Heheh" Spike flashed a grin at her and Rarity blushed when he did. But then asked "but how do I return to normal? I mean my nightmare form IS divine but mind you that some ponys are still Cautious of me after the nightmare forces incident. It didn't damage my shops Reputation but pony might think I've reverted back to being evil. And we don't need to send ponyville into a panic about this."

Spike was already aware of this and came up with a plan. "Hmm, have you tried to use your magic to revert back to normal?"

Rarity was so much in a panic earlier that the thought never crossed her mind. She began to calm down and focused her magic to revert back to normal. At first nothing was happening. But after a few seconds, she started to glow purple. After a purple flash, Rarity was back to her true form...sorta. she still had her wings, with just turned white instead of deep purple. "Spike..."

"Well what about a glamor spell? It'll hide your wings till you transform into your nightmare form again.

Rarity tried a glamor spell and surprisingly, it worked. The wings were hidden, which was a shame, since they were gorgeous. "Oh Spike you helped me so much! How can I ever repay you!"

Spike simply replied "just happy to help a friend in need."

Rarity, however, wasn't satisfied with that. She was gonna repay him for EVERYTHING he's done for her the past two years. And now she had plenty of time to work on that.

Spike looked at the clock and said "welp, I better get going. I better rest before I start working on upgrading the machine. "

"I understand Spike. You've done more then enough for today. I'll open up shop tomorrow, after ascending into a alicorn and obtaining control my nightmare form, I need to regain my strength for tomorrow. But afterwards Spike, I'll treat you to some rare gems the next time we go gem hunting."

Spike stomach started to growl and said "I'll have to take you up on that offer."

Spike was walking to the front door when Rarity said "oh! One more thing Spike." He turned around to see her as she said" let's not tell anypony about what happened today. The last thing I need is questions on top of questions about all of this. Pinkie promise?"

Spike began to say "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!"

"Thank you Spike." She hugged him and said "I'll see you tomorrow my prince!"

"Take care my princess." Spike said. Knowing he had alot of work ahead.

Author's Note

I always thought that nightmare Rarity had much more potential as a form,and as a character plot for Rarity. So I decided to make it more important and give rarity more development. Comment to tell me how you like it. See you in chapter 2! :raritywink:

Spike's true brain power and combat skills

As Spike continued his way home, he began to calculate how to upgrade the unicorn gadge machine into an alicorn gadge machine. Despite his laid back life style, Spike's race of dragon were not only skilled in combat, but also extremely intelligent. In fact, when he was in his teens, Spike was smart enough to make a Security system for his mom's personal valet...it's design is now being used for all bank valets in equestria.

While Spike knew that the gadge machine was designed and built by Twilight, he did help in the construction long enough to get a idea how it worked. Now with the knowledge of it, he can upgrade it from the ground up to be far more advanced then before. After all, all dragons LOVE a challenge!

When he returned to the library, he found that Twilight wasn't in her work desk. He called out "Twilight! I'm Home!"

Twilight called out, "I'm in our room Spike!"

Spike headed for there room to find Twilight packing her bag. Immediately getting scared, he asked "W-what's with the bag for twi?"

Twilight heard his voice and saw his face and quickly put two and two together. Her first instinct was to assure him that it wasn't what it looked like. "Spike, Shush. It's ok. I'm not going to abandon you. I'm packing to investigate the mysterious village we talked about this morning remember?"

Spike calmed himself as he remembered that conversation. "Oh. Sorry Twilight. I guess I let my fears get the better of me huh?"

Twilight looked at Spike with a calming look on her face and said "Remember what I said back at the crystal empire Spike? I would never EVER will send you away. I would never forgive myself for that, And if anypony says otherwise. I'll send them to the moon!" She jokingly said, getting Spike to chuckle.

Spike felt better after Twilight reassured him that they be apart. But the feeling of distant between then was still as strong as before. He decided to stop thinking about it and refocus his mind on the Calculations needed to upgrade the unicorn gadge device.

After both Twilight and Spike when to bed, Spike woke up and made sure that Twilight was asleep, put some earplugs he had on Twilight to block the noise, and headed down to the basement lab to start work on the upgrade. Gathering materials and tools to began this project.

As Spike began to work by replacing and building new features for the machine, Twilight began to toss and turn as she seemed to be having a nightmare. A nightmare of Spike leaving her, ever since she became a princess, she's been having these nightmare of Spike packing his stuff and leaving her. His dream self said "I'm leaving Cas I'm no longer useful to you. Thank you for everything Twilight...Goodbye."

"NO!!!" Twilight woke up in a cold sweat. Scared that one day, Spike will her and never return. She felt her ears filled and used her magic to pull what's inside. "Ear plugs?" Twilight thought, it was weird, Cas she hasn't used ear plugs since she became princess, and the only times she would uses them was in her underground lab. "Spike. How did my ear plugs get in my-" she looked down to Spike's little basket bed, and saw thay he wasn't in their. "Spike? She called her voice getting nervous, thinking her nightmare might be coming true. When she made it to the hall way, Twilight heard noise coming from the basement. She wondered if Spike was down there.

Spike continued the upgrades to the gadge machine with amazing progress! He already finished the coding for the new functions of the machine, replaced all the broken parts, reinforced the metal plating of the machines outer frame, and almost put all of the functions for alicorns. He was so involved in his work, he never noticed he's alicorn roommate looking though the doorway.
"Spike!" Spike shot up from where he was working, only to hit head on the console and damaging it. Twilight felt terrible and rushed to his side. "Spike! I am so sorry! I didn't know you were under there!"

"It's ok Twilight. I have a hard head. I'll be-" Spike didn't say anything else as Twilight dragged him to the library couch. "No way mister! I'm gonna check your head for injuries and your going off to bed! Don't you know what time it is?! And what were you doing to my old unicorn power gadge machine anyway?! You KNOW you can't handle a machine like that! You could -"

Spike was tired,cranky,and annoyed. So his normal Patience for Twilight was smaller then normal, and she has just used the last of it now as he screamed" TWILIGHT! I'm not a dumb little kid! I'm a young dragon! You KNOW my race of dragon are high in intelligence! And YOUR talking about me being up late at night miss 'all nighter' well tough luck! I'm gonna finish my project tonight and You can't stop me!"

Twilight had alot of patiences with Spike when he messed up, but now he's officially broke her last nerve, she wasn't having it. "Oh I can't stop you huh?! Well, WILL SEE ABOUT THAT!!" Twilight lunged herself at Spike, as she was gonna drag him to bed and never let him leave her side.

Unfortunately for her, Spike wasn't going down quietly as dodged Twilight with ease. Being small had its advantages, especially in combat. "Heh. You always did suck in physical attacks Twilight. You think being a alicorn would help. Being part earth pony now and all." Spike taunted Twilight as she began to get aggravated. Unlike trixe, Spike KNEW exactly what to say to tick off Twilight, and he was gonna use her rage against her and tire herself out.

Twilight was getting ticked off as Spike dodged her attacks left and right. Normally she would've caught him by now and dragged him to bed now. But now he's bobbing and weaving away from her attempts. "Grrr fine. If tackling you won't work-" she began to charge her horn with magic and said," Maybe a containment spell with work. " She fired the spell at a unexpecting Spike, but was fortunate enough to dodge in time saw that she was using a spell to catch him.

"Wow. Somepony's getting serious." Spike was starting to get nervous. He knew how good was Twilight and her spells and he needed to avoid her shots at all cost.

Meanwhile outside

Applejack had Finnished her dealings with Filthy rich about a zapapple order he had and was on her way back to sweet apple acrs when *crash* Applejack got Startled at the broken window from...golden oak library? She got closer to investigate when she heard "is that all you got hackeye?" "its HAWKEYE you little twerp "Either way, your a total hack at aiming!""why you little...get over here! Applejack was surprised by what she saw. Twilight and Spike were fighting. And not in a argument, but in actual combat! While a part of her wanted to stop them from fighting...another part of her wanted to keep watching. This was nothing like she ever seen or been apart of. She hasn't had the nerve to challenge a unicorn to fight Cas of their magic being a unfair advantage. But here was Spike, taking on a AILCORN and holding his own. But the most amazing part was when Spike was caught in Twilight's magic hold...and broke out of it by sheer will! Applejack's eyes widen like the day she saw the sonic rainboom when she was a filly and didn't want to stop watching.

Spike and Twilight attempts of dodge and capture eventually turned into a epic brawl, and neither of them wanted to lose. Spike's natural combat instants had kicked in, and was going for punchs and kicks to throw her off, while Twilight didn't know what she was feeling. The intense urge to win, the trill of combat, were things she never found Appealing before when she was a unicorn. But now as a alicorn, this was different. It was like she has a warriors blood in her veins...and she LOVED It! But Spike's Agility and speed quickly got annoying and she said "Why. Won't. You. Just. Stay. STILL!!! You little monster!!"

That got Spike triggered. Ever since his transformation into his giant dragon form, he's been irritated by that word and nearly beaten up a stallon that called him that. But this time...it really hurt that SHE of all ponys called him a monster. He was furious and said "This is nothing! You little WIMPY NERD!!!"

Speaking of triggered, Twilight hated those two words ever since she was a filly. She was bullied by other mares for her smarts and her weak Athletic skills. She hated it and thought that being princess Celestia personal student had finally put an end to those names once and for all. But now Spike, her little BROTHER, had the gall to say those words together at her...she was devastated...and wanted him to feel the same way as she did. "That's it! You've crossed the line! I've had enough! I'll make you feel how I feel! I'M ENDING THIS NOW!!!" She charged her horn with huge amounts of arcane magic and aimed it at Spike.

Meanwhile Spike was feeling so much anger that he wanted to make Twilight suffer for what she said to him and shouted, "You want a monster? I'll show you a monster! I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!" He then charged a powerful fireball from his mouth and aimed for Twilight's under belly as she got on her hindlegs to fire her blast where Spike can't escape. They both yelled, "TAKE THIS!!!" Both attacks fired at the same time and hit their targets. Twilight's on Spike's side and chest and Spike's on Twilight's underbelly. When they layed on the ground both saw the damage they did to themselves, but also saw the injuries to the other and were heartbroken. Twilight saw what she did to Spike and was disgusted with herself. Spike was badly hurt but with his Scales he'll live, but the fact he was this badly hurt and bleeding was all HER fault...she cried.

Spike meanwhile felt horrible. He saw her burns on her underbelly, the smell of burning fur and heated flesh were coming from the same place where he would snuggle Twilight when they read together...he cried hard and blamed himself for what happened. "...I'm a monster..."

Applejack, after seeing what happened, wanted to see if they were ok. But decided that they needed some space, so she'll come check on them tomorrow, and headed out.

Twilight, seeing her little brother blaming himself, got up, even with the burns she had and walked over to him and tried to comfort him, but he moved and said "No twilight! I'm a monster! Please keep away! I don't want to hurt you more!" He got up and ran,despite his injuries Twilight gave him, and ran away from Twilight. "Spike WAIT!" Twilight tried to go after him after seeing a trail of blood from his wound but stopped cas of the burns on her underbelly. With a heavy heart, she was forced to telaport to her bed, and let her alicorn magic heal her burns for the morning to go find him and apologize. As she drifted off to sleep, she said "No Spike, your not the monster...I AM." With guilt building up inside her, Twilight eventually fell to sleep. However, her pillow soaked up alot of tears before her sleep took her.

Venting out with a fellow villain

After running from their fight, Spike found himself all alone on the streets of ponyville. He figures that he live out here like he deserved after brutally hurting Twilight. He noticed carousel boutique up ahead and decided to rest there for a bit before figuring out what to do next. As he sat underneath Rarity Window Garden, Spike started to wish he was never hatched so that Twilight didn't have a chance to be hurt by him ever again.

As she was beginning to close up and turn in for the night, Rarity heard a quiet yet familiar voice sobbing near her door. She opened it up and saw her prince crying and looking defeated on the ground. "Spike? What happened? Why are you -"

Spike interrupted her, saying, "I truly am a monster, Rarity! I don't deserve to live!"

Rarity, shocked and surprised by what she heard, became angry at hearing what he was saying. Using her magic, she brought Spike inside so they could talk in private. She put him down on her couch and cleared her throat. Spike knew he was in for an earful.

"SPIKE THE DRAGON! HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELF A MONSTER!!!" Spike jumped as Rarity, somehow, started to chew him out with the royal cantrlot voice. It brought him back flashbacks when he was growing up and got in so much trouble that princess Celestia herself, had to bring out her cantrlot voice, when he was getting a earful when she switched into her mother mode.

Of course, this was different. This was Rarity doing the chewing out, and she was seriously pissed by the look of things. He decided, for the sack of his health, to NOT get into another fight with a raging alicorn, and sat their and took his lumps.

"YOU ARE NOT A MONSTER SPIKE! YOUR A KIND AND GENTLE DRAGON! AND YET YOUR SO DENSE THAT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THAT WE ALL LOVE YOU?! GET. THIS. THOUGH. YOUR. HEAD. YOUR NOT A MONSTER! IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU!!!" Rarity started to pant. Cleary, not used to her new cantrlot voice she got from her ascend.

Spike, however, was surprised that she was so adamant that he wasn't a monster, but after what he did to Twilight...he didn't know what to think.

Rarity could see the turmoil in Spike's eyes. But also hurt in his eyes. She wanted to help him like he helped her earlier that day. She knew that he wasn't in the mood to talk, but she needed to push to get there. So she said, "What's gotten you so upset Spike-wikey?"

Spike continued to stay silent. Not wanting to dumb all his problems on to her. Especially with her new form and alicorn powers she has to deal with already.
Rarity wasn't one to give up that easily. So she decided to say, "Please tell me Spike. We can work it out together. Want to vent out your frustration, Fellow reformed villain, " Rarity winked, hoping that would help him to open up.

Spike stared at Rarity and thought, maybe Rarity was the one pony to understand how he felt. He hoped she didn't react badly to what happened but decided to trust her. She was a fellow reformed villain after all, right?

Spike breathed in and out as he readied himself to tell her and said "ok Rarity. I trust you."

Rarity was relieved. glad that he trusted her enough to tell her what's wrong. She just need to have a calm head and be prepared for whatever happened to him.

Spike nervously began to tell her what happened. "Well when I got home, I started to calculate how to upgrade the unicorn gadge machine into a alicorn gadge device, when Twilight started packing for her trip."

Rarity looked confused and said "A trip? You mean to cantrlot?"

"No, to a new pony mountain village that was recently build. Princess Celestia wanted Twilight to investigate the village to see who they were and what they wanted."

Rarity nodded and said " ahhhh that explains it. But why are you brushed up and- She then saw a big gash on Spike's side and said "SPIKE! YOUR BLEEDING!! OH MY POOR SPIKEY-WIKEY IS INJURED!" She quickly ran up and grabbed for first aid kit and tried to tend to his wond. "Spike, when did you get such a wond?!"

Spike looked at the gash and said "that's actually part of the story Rarity. Can I continue now?"

Rarity looked at Spike and said "hold on Spike, I know your tough, but you need hold on a moment." Rarity ran to her room and less then 3 minutes she brought what looked like a spell book. One that he didn't realize. "What's that Rarity?"

"It's a ancient spell book darling. It's been passed down though my mother's family for hundreds of years." Rarity said while looking though the pages.

"But I don't recognize this book before. Not even in the library OR in the cantrlot archives. Rarity? What's the story here?"

Rarity figured she can trust Spike with this secret about her Family and Said "Very well Spike, you trusted me with your story so I'll tell you mine. But when I'm done, you continue with your story?"

Spike decided to commit and say "cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."

"Alright then Spike, well for seven hundred years was in a...a dark magic cult."

"Wait what? What's a dark magic cult?"

Rarity continues to explain "It makes sense that you don't know about it. My mother said it was a secret cult that was Dedicated to unlocking the secrets of dark magic. They kept their endeavors a secret, in hopes that one day they could share their discoveries with the world and become the next star swirl the bearded. But then, word got around to princess Celestia, and she thought that what they were doing could be dangerous for equestria. So she started to plan to round up all the members of the Cult and wipe their memories of their endeavors and burn all their research. They were successful for the most part, the secret colt was lost to time and forgotten."

Spike was surprised and amazed to learn about Rarity's hidden past but a question came to mind and asked "if they were studying dark magic, wouldn't that mean they were evil?"

Rarity knew Spike would ask that and said, "Despite how it looked liked, my mother told me that they weren't evil in the slightest. In fact, some of our family friends are also Descendants of the same cult that kept there memories. And they said they were some of the most sweetest, kindest, and helpful pony ever. In fact, three of our dear friends are direct descendants of some of the colt members that escaped with their memories in tact"

Spike was shocked! again. How did he not know this! "Which of our friends knows about this? And do they know you know?"

Rarity decided to tell him who. He deserved to know after all. "I'll tell you the first two but you have to guess the last one. Deal?"

"Deal." He said excitedly, loving a challenge of guessing.

"Well, it's a secret that it pasted down though the generation, but none of us knows who are the descendants of the cult... except me. I did some digging in the mayor's files on the local pony's past to find out who are fellow descendants of the cult. And lucky for me, I found them."

Rarity was about to tell Spike who they were. But his injuries left her worried as she looked for the spell she needed. Spike saw this and said "want me to tell you what happened first and then you'll tell me who are the descendants of the cult are?" Rarity nodded as she was nervous about Spike's injuries to focus.

Spike refocused his thoughts, and told her what happened. "Well long story short, I started on the machine when Twilight when to bed, I put her on ear plugs to keep the noise out and I was 75% done with the machine when she Startled me. She started to get mad and mentioned about never leaving her side again, I got mad that she was treating me like a baby, she tried to tackle me but it turned into a fight, which I'll admit...it was fun."

Rarity was confused about thelat last part "you thought the fight was fun? How?"

"Well my race of dragons are also natural fighters. But we use our skills to defend the weak from those who just want to hurt creatures. And training matchs are our favorite past time. We don't fight to the death like barbarians. It's till one gets knocked out. And the way we were fighting was like that...until Twilight let her anger get the best of her and she called me a monster."

Rarity gasped. Knowing that he hated being called that. She decided to chew Twilight out for calling Spike a monster.

"But I'm not without fault either. I called her wimpy nerd. The two words she absolutely hated. She was bullied in Celestia's school of gifted unicorns for being smart, and weak in gym. But at that ponit, I was so hurt that I didn't care. She then charged her horn with large amounts of arcane magic and I countered with a powered up fireball. Our attacks hit and...I hit Twilight on her underbelly, and I got blasted ponit blank with her magic beam. I could smell the burned fur and heated skin on her that I was terrified and ran away before I cried."

He was about to cry when he felt a hoof on his check. Sofly Caressing his face and made him look at Rarity and she said "Spike, I understand. You were hurt that she called you a monster and you did things you regretted. Now let me tell you something. Would a monster have regret for hurting somepony?"

Spike thought for a second and said "probably not."

"Well. Did you regret what you did and said to Twilight?" Rarity said, knowing the answer.

"Of course I do! She's my best friend! Why wouldn't I be feel guilty?!" Spike said defending himself.

"Then your most definitely not a monster Spike. Cas monsters wouldn't feel Guilty for hurting those close to them." Rarity said with confidence. "And this is coming from a descendant of a dark magic cult. I'm sure if you apologized to Twilight, she'll understand...after I give her a piece of my mind for hurting you like that."

Spike realized that Rarity had a point. He didn't mean to be nasty to Twilight and probably Twilight felt the same. She needed too. "Your right. Thanks Rarity, I'll apologize to Twilight Tomorrow and hopefully she'll forgive me."

"I'm sure she will Spike. Aha! There it is! The healing spell." Rarity had turned to a page and found the right healing spell. Spike saw it and was amazed on how many spells were packed in to the book.

"Wow Rarity! Theirs gotta be hundreds of thousands of spells in here!" Rarity saw Spike's eyes widen with amazement, giving her a proud feeling about her Inheritance.

She looked at the book and saw how to use the spell "ok spike, I'm gonna use the spell and I want you not to move ok?"

Spike gave Rarity a confirmed look and said "I trust you Rarity. Do it."

Rarity gulped, nervous about the spell and failing it. Spike could tell that she was nervous when the glamor spell she had earlier faded away and revealed her beautiful wings. He said "I know you can do this Rarity. I believe in you."

Rarity had gained new confidence with Spike's words and encouragement that she flapped her new wings in confidence and said "Thank you Spike. Well here goes!"

Rarity started the spell. Her normal blue aura and turned green as she channeled the dark magic for the spell. However,unlike others who were corrupted from using dark magic, Rarity was calm, relaxed,focused on the spell instead of the power. And then she said a chant, saying "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

In a instant, the wound was healed and he was good as new. He hugged and kissed Rarity on thr check in excitement saying "You did it Rarity! You healed me! Your my hero!" He kissed her more times on the check in excitement, not noticing the huge blush and increasing heart beat her had from the kissing. "Y-your welcome S-s-spike." She felt like fainting from happiness after Spike's Barrage of kisses. Never had she enjoyed such displays of love from one being before. And she enjoyed it very much. Wishing it would never stop.

Eventually, he stopped and asked, "What's with the chant? I've never heard reference to it before."

"It's the chant that is used for all the dark magic spells. It acts like a passcode to use the spells without the magic controlling you."

Spike was very interested on this and asked "think we can go over these spells more? There really interesting and I wanna know more! Hey, maybe we can use these to practice your new alicorn magic!"

Rarity began to ponder on the idea and said "that's not a bad idea. But we should ask the other descendants of the cult to join us for that first... even if it means that I must tell them I'm a alicorn."

"I'm sure our friends will understand. Their quite the forgiving bunch aren't they?" Spike said, knowing there nature.

Rarity agreed with Spike. Their friends are the most forgiving ponys in equestria. She'll be fine. "Spike? Can I tell you who are the descendants of the cult tomorrow? One thing about dark magic is that it drains much more energy the regular magic if your not use to using them, and I need to sleep. Care to stay the night with me?" She asked in a flirty tone.

Spike liked the idea of sleeping over. Especially it will give Twilight a chance to calm down. " Sure, rarity. I'll stay the night."

"Great! Follow me to my bed Spikey wikey~"

Spike followed Rarity to bed as they cuddled and slept. As the next day planned to be just as exciting.

Twilight's apologize and old roots unearthed (re-edit)

Twilight woke up from a horrible nightmare. One that was more...gruesome than the last. Twilight looked pale as she remembered what happened... She killed Spike. With her bare hoofs. She held by the neck with her hoofs, charged her horn with lethal magic... and shot him through the heart. His lifeless body dangled in her hoofs, and it was HER fault. She cried in bed, feeling guilty, about her actions yesterday. "I...I'm a monster..."

Twilight was knocked out of her thoughts by a knock on the front door. In her mind, she thought it was Spike, coming to see if she was ok...or at least she hoped. After what happened the night before, she didn't blame Spike for still being cautious around her. She opened the door, only to be greeted by Applejack. "Howdy Twilight." She said nervously.

Twilight knew that Applejack was the element of honesty, and she's proud of her for that, but when it came down to being a liar...well, she had to be ironically honest. She sucked at it. Twilight said, "Applejack, I love you like a sister, but you're an awful liar. What's going on?"

Applejack gave a nervous chuckle and said, "Guess there's no beating around the bush is there?" She suddenly gave a serious look and said,"I saw what happened last night."

Twilight froze in fear. She didn't even see Applejack anywhere in the area last night, or she was so angry that she only focused on Spike that she didn't notice her show up. She then said, "I understand if you don't wanna be friends with me anymore. Nobody should be around a monster."

Applejack got closer and said, "NOW why would I do something like that. You've just been stressed with your royal duties, that you unintentionally took it out on Spike, and Spike looked like he was under stress as well, and I wanna know what happened, and just to let you know, I'm not mad at the both of you."

Twilight, however, disagreed and said, "You should be angry! I blasted him in ponit blank range with a lethal beam spell! If he was just a pony, I could have MURDERED him Applejack!!!" She then broke down crying and said,"And the worst part is that, when we were fighting in combat...I actually was ENJOYING it! I'm a princess, Applejack! I shouldn't enjoy hurting others! I'm a monster that needs to be locked up and never see Celestia's light again!"

Applejack gave Twilight a comforting hug and said, "It's ok, sugercube. You two didn't mean to go that far last night. Trust me, I've had scraps with big Macintosh before, and we end up a bloody mess. But after a couple of hours, we're closer than before after we make up. You and Spike just need to apologize to each other and work on repairing your bond. Ill be honest, if you two wanted, you two could be a adorable couple." Applejack said in a wise tone, being the oldest on their friends.

Twilight realized that Applejack was right on two things, first was that she always wanted to be in a relationship with Spike and be his marefriend. It was why she wanted him to be close to her, and second, that she needed to apologize to him, but first, she needed to show him how sorry she was, and she knew how to do it. "Applejack, first of all, I have thought of being his marefriend for awhile and maybe one day we can be. And secondly, thanks for the advice, and I plan to apologize to him, but can I ask you for a favor?"

Applejack gave a reassuring smile and said "whatever you need sugercube!"

Twilight then said, "Follow me!" She led Applejack to the basement, the only place where the brawl didn't hit and said," When I first came here, Spike was working on upgrading my unicorn gauge machine."

Appkejack then said, confused. "Unicorn gauge machine? What kind of contraption is that?"

"Well Applejack...I have to admit... before I ascended into alicorn states, I was training my combat spells to make myself stronger to defend equestria more. I use this machine to gauge my magic and power levels to see how strong I've gotten."

Applejack was admittedly curious and said, "Twilight? Before you became an alicorn, how strong would you say you were?"

Twilight began to think about her kast time she used the device and said, "I believe I had a power level of two hundred thousand the last time I saw."

Applejack gasped and said, "t-two hundred thousand?! I've never heard of a unicorn being THAT powerful before! How much training did you DO?!"

Twilight gained a smag look and said, "What? Did you think I just read all the time? Spike and I do some intense training, and not just those practical spells you've seen me use."

Applejack then said confused "Wait, Spike? How dose he fit into this? He's too young to-"

"He's older then he looks, and you know it. He's only 4 years younger then me, and he's tougher then he looks if last night was any Indication of that."

Applejack had to admit, she was right. Spike looked like he was holding his own rather well against her. But she had to ask "Any idea how strong he is Twilight?"

Twilight started to think about that, she never made a attempt to scale Spike's power level. So she can only guess based on past matchs. "Well...based in past training matchs, I say he's probably at...three hundred thousand? Give or take a few thousand. "

Applejack was horrified. She never knew that her friends were THIS powerful. She always prided herself as the strongest of her friends. But here was Twilight and Spike. Somehow even MORE stronger then she was. She kinda expected this from Twilight, being a alicorn and all, but SPIKE?! He's a young dragon! How is he even stronger then an alicorn! She decided to challenge him to a fight and see for herself if he has the strength that rivals a alicorn .

But before asking her, Twilight said "So the reason I brought you down her was to help me finish his project. It looked like he wanted to upgrade it to gauge alicorn magic, power levels, and health check ups. *sigh* he's so sweet." Twilight started to daydream about everything he's done for her before Apple jack said " And why am I down here for?"

Twilight had a determined look on her face and said, "We're gonna finish his work and surprise him! With a added surprise for Spike!"

While Applejack wanted to fight Spike , she decided to hold it off and said "count me in sugercube! I'll lift and carry any material you need!

Twilight looked at Applejack with a greatful face and said, "Thanks Applejack! Let's get to work!" And so, Twilight and Applejack began to finish the upgrades to the unicorn gauge machine.

Meanwhile at carasoal boutique

Spike and Rarity wake up from her bed, snuggled in each other's embrace, when the alarm when off as they got up, washed up, and Spike made breakfast for the both of them as she said "Spike darling, you don't have to do this. I can-"

"You helped me so much yesterday Rarity. Now I want to help you out. Anything you need, I'll do it for you." Spike said adamantly, wanting to repay Rarity for everything she did for the last 24 hours. Rarity however thought 'you've done more for me then I've done for you, my prince. I'll make it up to you... somehow.'

After breakfast, Spike and Rarity sat in the show room and continued to talk, when Spike then said "Hey Rarity, weren't you gonna tell me who of our friends are descendants of the dark magic cult?"

Rarity remember what she promised Spike, she smiled at the fact that Spike was so interested in her family's past. She moved next to him and said "alright Spike, I've kept you waiting long enough. But first, you need to know HOW our family remembers our cult past."

She took a moment to center herself and started telling her tale. "Well darling, before the Princess agents showed up to the catacombs, where the cult would practice and experiment with dark magic, my ancestors and their friends learned of their assault on the cult, and made preparations to evacuate the catacombs. Nopony else believed them, when they told them about the Princess plan to wipe them out. Because of this, my ancestors and there friends when to the library and snuck all five master tomes that the cult had made in there time together."

Spike was confused and Said " Master tomes? What were dose?"

"They are six mystic tomes that hold all of the dark magic spells of a certain species. They were, the tome of unicorns, the tome of Pegasus, the tome of earth ponys, the tome of changelings, the tome of shadows, and the tome of dragons."

Spike jumped out of his seat and said "wait, WHAT?! there was a tome of dragons?! You mean that dragons were a part of the cult all those years ago?!"

Rarity giggled and said "yes Spikey wikey, there were dragons in the cult. And changelings, and crystal ponys."

Spike was back to being confused and said "wait, crystal ponys? How were they involved with the cult? And the changelings too in fact."

"Well Spike, the dragons, changelings, and crystal ponys were all brought from their tribes when they heard of the ponys attempts of mastering dark magic for the good of all creatures in equestria. The dragons shared their healing, combat, and elemental magic.
The changelings shared magic of metamorphosis and Imitation. And the crystal ponys shared their geo,light, and shadow magic."

"When my ancestors learned of the attempt of wiping out the cult, they told the dragons, changelings and crystal ponys to flee back to their homes. Fortunately unlike the other ponys they listened and left. But not before saying good bye to my ancestors and their friends, and entrusting them with their tomes. They didn't want to risk them failing into the wrong hoofs in there territories, so they entrusted them to my ancestors to gurad them, and then they vanished from equestria. And not long afterwards, they left the cult as well. In fact, the very next day, that's when the raid happened and all there memories were wiped, and all their research was burned. Never to be seen again. And the cult are almost wiped from existence."

Spike took a few moments to process this much information. She never expected for his mother to wipe out a cult that didn't do anything wrong. He decided not to wonder and ask Rarity "What happened to the tomes anyway? It seems like they haven't seen the light of day in a long time."

Rarity had a coly smile and said "Actually Spike, last night was the first time in a long time that one has been used." She brings the same book that she had last night and said.

"This is the tome of dragons. I used it to heal your wounds since your a dragon. I also have the tome of unicorns and the tome of shadows. I am their guardian. And it's my job to keep these tomes safe from those who would misuse them for selfish gain...or should I say OUR job."

Spike had a even more confused look on him as Rarity said "Spike the dragon, you've gone above and beyond the call of duty as a friend, so I'm entrusting you with two VERY important things." She picked up a tome and give it to Spike. "I'm entrusting you as guardian of the tome of dragons. You have been shown to be beyond responsible enough to be entrusted with the legacy of my family line. Protect this and the other precious thing with your life"

Spike felt honored with this level of trust, he held the tome in his claws and felt the responsibility that came with it, he then asked
"What's the second thing your entrusting me with?"

Rarity blushed and nervously said "...my heart."

"Huh?"

Rarity summoned the courage to talk and said, "I'm...I'm entrusting you with my heart Spike."

Spike then figured out what Rarity was trying to say and said "Rarity? Are you trying to say-"

Rarity closed her eyes and said " Yes. I'm in love with you, Spike! I've had feelings for you since the grand glaping gala! When you came to comfort me from that Awful Blue blood. Since then, my feelings for you have grown more and more. And after you made so much effort in helping me with my new form and alicorn powers...I've made up my mind. Spike the dragon. Please be my drakefriend!"

Spike couldn't believe what he was hearing. The love of his life was admitting her feelings for him?! This was the greatest day ever! And it will get better after another thing. "Rarity, I love to be your drakefriend! But I also need to apologize to Twilight! I feel terrible about what I did to her."

Rarity knew he felt like that he felt like that. And she knew thay she would have to share him with Twilight. Either as friends or romantically. She said" ok, Spike we will go and meet with twilight after I tell you the other guardians of the tomes."

Spike's mind was back to the tomes, knowing now how important they are now. " ok honey. So who of our friends are the guardians of the tomes?"

Rarity began to explain the identitys of the guardians. "Well one of them doesn't seem like she's a guardian, but she has a surprisingly strong fighter in her own right. And the other two don't know their guardians, but are strong regardless. "

Spike began to use his super intelligence to figure out who are the guardians of the tomes and figured out the first one out. Even though it was absurd. "Is the first one fluttershy?"

"Correct my spikey wikey! Such a smart dragon! Now the other two?"

Spike began to think a bit more when he said "is it Applejack and Rainbow dash?"

Rarity was giddy with happiness and said "Oh my brilliant dragon! Your absolutely correct! I'm so proud of you!"

Spike was blushing with bashfulness. Proud of himself for getting him right.

They suddenly heard a knock and the voice behind it was familiar. "Spike? Are you there?"

Spike said "I'll be right there." They quickly hid the tomes and answered the door and revealed to be Twilight and applejack. Rarity (who quickly casted her glamor spell back on) looked at Twilight with a furious stare at her. Twilight had a nervous look at Rarity, who had a seriously angry look on her face she knew that she was in for a ear full.

"Twilight...when Spike came to see me last night, he was very hurt emotionally...and you know I don't take kinda to those who hurt out spikey-wikey...so here's the deal..." Rarity used her magic to move Twilight close to her and say "If I caught you making our Spikey-wikey sad or hurt ever again...I'm gonna chop off your horn, bust your knee caps, and use you as my personal step stoll...Got it!?"

Twilight nodded with a panicked expression. Who knew she could be this scary. She then looked at Spike and said "Spike! I'm so sorry I injured you like that! I never meant to hurt you! I was just so frustrated and-" Spike hugged her and said "it's ok Twilight. I'M sorry I fried your underbelly in a fit of rage."

The both of them hugged and cried of happiness. Now knowing that the other is safe. Rarity smiled warmly at the secne and said "Twilight darling, if you and Spike care for each other. Then be a couple! I know I felt happier when me and Spike became one. And I'm more then happy to share him with you."

Spike was flabbergasted! Not knowing why she's doing this. But he wasn't gonna let this opportunity go to waste. He had feelings for Twilight too and he was gonna tell her, now.
"Twilight, what Rarity said is true. I've had feelings for you since cantrlot. But I've always thought I was out of your league. Hay, I still thing I'm out of you AND Rarity's league. If you have feelings for me or not but I have to say this. I love you Twilight sparkle! And I wish I could be your special somedragon!"

He did it. He said his peace. He only hoped that Twilight wasn't angry at him. To his surprise, Twilight was hugging him and crying and said "Oh Spike! I've waited for you to say that for Years! I wanted you as my drakefriend for a long time,and now it's actually happening! I love you Spike! I love you, I love you, I love you!" She hugged her with passion and kissed him with feeling.

Rarity, not wanting to be let out said "what about me Spikey wikey~ I want a kiss too. "Spike kissed her with the same feeling he had for Twilight, and loved it. Rarity said "from now on, we're a threesome! And nothing gonna drive us apart!" The three of them hugged and stayed that way until "Sorry to interfere with this romantic moment. But Twilight, wasn't there another thing you came here for?"

Twilight suddenly reminded and said, " OH right! Thanks Applejack! Listen Spike! Can you come back to the library? I have something to show you!"

He looked back at Rarity and back to Twilight, didn't know what to do. Twilight said "Rarity? Do you want to join us?"

Rarity smiled and said "oh of course darling! I really want to see what you did for our drakefriend!"

Spike and Twilight were excited and Twilight said "ok! Meet us at the library basement while Me and Applejack get it fixed up! Come on A.j!"

"Right behind you sugercube!" Applejack said as she followed Twilight. Before Spike and Rarity followed them, they put the tomes they had in Rarity Saddleback to protect them and walked to the golden oak library. Wondering what Twilight made for Spike.

A pink revolution

As Spike and Rarity made their way to Golden Oak Library, They began to feel hungry. After helping with dress orders and the revaluation of who the guardians of the other tomes were, they definitely deserved lunch. Twilight and Applejack needed a bit of time to prep their surprise, so this was perfect.

As the two of them walked into the unusually quiet sugercube corner, they spotted an extremely bored Pinkie pie working the Conner until she spotted the two of them and got excited. "HI Rarity! Hi Spike! What are you two doing here? Are you here to try the banana fana smoothly?! It's soooo good! I made a while -"

Rarity, while she loved Pinkie pie, can only stand her hyper active behavior for so long. Especially when she was hungry. Spike also had the same idea and said, "Pinkie, as good as that smoothly sounds, we're actually here for lunch. Do you think you can help with that?"

Pinkie looked excited, finally something to do today. "Dose a dragon breath fire? Of course they do! Head to the table, and I'll get my notepad."

As Spike and Rarity took their seats in the table with a window view as pinkie arrived startling the couple and unintentionally moving her sattle bag, and took their order. Spike wanted a strawberry ruby cupcake, while Rarity got a summer salad with dasiys.

"OK, coming right-uuuaaaaaaaap!" She triped over Rarity's sattle bag, and the tome of shadows fell out, causing the guardians to freak and Rarity to say," Pinkie, are you ok?! " Spike also said,"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to leave the bag there! I'll clean it up!" But it's too late as Pinkie already picked up the tome and said,"Don't worry, guys. It was an accid-. "

Pinkie pie took a closer look at the tome and was shocked. 'No. It can't be. H-how did-' She then grabbed Spike (who had the sattle bag) and Rarity by the hoof and speed up to her room and locked the door. Both guardians were scared, wondering what's going on as Pinkie inspected the tome. "...do you two realize how dangerous the tome your carrying can be if misused?" Pinkie said unusually serious. "You know how much good this kind of magic can do in the right hoofs?! After all these years...my family legacy, the tome of shadows,has been found!"

Spike and Rarity were confused as Spike said, "What are you talking about, Pinkie? How do you know about the tome of shadows?!"

Pinkie pie was surprised that they knew about the tome and said, "Don't hate me for this. It's for your own safety." She opened the book and found the perfect spell and said,"I'm sorry. Azarath Metrion Zinthos." A magic bolt fired from her hoof as it aimed for Spike, before the shot landed on Spike, a green shield was casted as he heard "Azarath Metrion Zinthos" Rarity casted her shield spell in time to block the spell and said "are you ok my beloved?" Spike released a breath that he didn't know and said,"I'm ok, thanks, Rarity."

Rarity smiled, glad that her drakefriend wasn't harmed. She then looked at Pinkie pie, and to say she was angry was an understatement. "Pinkie! Why would you do that!? You casted a shadow bolt spell at us,and almost hurt my spikey wikey! How did you even know about the chant that makes the dark magic stable?! I can't let you run amok with that tome! Return it to us, and I promise you won't get hurt."

Pinkie was shocked that she casted a shield spell with the tome, but that didn't faze her. "You've gotten lucky with that spell. But that wasn't a shadow bolt spell. It was a memory erase spell. I didn't want you guys to think I was a witch or something, so I just wanted to wipe you memories of the tome and for me to hide it."

Rarity mumbled saying "considering that I'm a direct descendant of a dark magic cult, I wouldn't hold it against you to try that."

Rarity shoke her head and refocused on Pinkie pie. "Never the less, you NEED to return the tome to me. Pinkie, You don't understand wha-"

Pinkie, now extremely frustrated, then said, "If you want this tome, you're gonna have a priy it from my cold, dead hoofs. You ugly cold snake!"

Rarity, finally having enough of this, looked to Spike and said, " Spike darling. Look away. This is about to get ugly." Rarity then charged to the unexpected Pinkie, and an old fashion brawl exploded. Casing them to drop their tomes and start to pulling their manes and punching each other.

Spike couldn't stand to see his friend and marefriend fight like this, so he looked in the tome of dragons to find a spell to stop their fighting. Once he found a spell that could work, he focused on the spell, his claws began to glow emerald green, and his eyes glowed the same color. began to chant "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" He fired a beam of magic at the two mares, and it held them in place as Spike said."ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU! I HATE SEEING MY FRIENDS FIGHTING EACH OTHER LIKE THIS! PLEASE CALM DOWN SO THIS WONT END BAD AND ONE OF US ENDS UP IN THE HOSPITAL!"

Spike's words and concerns made the two of them snap out of their anger and made them both said "I'm sorry!" Rarity started her apology and said "darling I'm terribly sorry I lashed out on you like that. It's just that I thought you were about to hurt my adorable Spikey wikey and I got overprotective of my love. I'm so sorry."

Pinkie got her thoughts together and said, "I'm sorry too. I thought I was using the tome of shadows correctly and was trying to wipe your memories of the tome. But instead, I nearly hurt you two and disgraced my crystal pony ancestors. I'm a terrible guardian." She then began to cry, thinking that she was a terrible guardian and an even worse friend.

Spike and Rarity were shocked when she said mentioned the crystal ponies and guardians in her apology. Rarity decided to ask her, "Pinkie darling. Have you been any chance heard of the dark magic cult?"

Pinkie eyes widened, and Rarity said those three words. No...it couldn't be...she isn't...or is she? "Rarity... how do you know that name?! It's been lost for over a thousand years! There is no way somepo-"

"That somepony else would know about it?" Rarity said, now confidence on why Pinkie pie of all ponys would be interested in a magic tome of all things. "Pinkie...are you a direct descendent of the dark magic cult too?"

Pinkie pie leaped into the air and unexpectedly cheered with glee as she hugged Rarity and said "ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh! You're a fellow guardian!!! I'm so excited! I thought potentially being Applejack's cousin was the best thing that happened to me! But finding other guardians AND fellow descendents of the dark magic cult is-is..."

Pinkie surprisingly started to cry and said, "I've b-been alone for so long, S-since I've been with one of my people. I would practice spells with my siblings. But ever since I arrived in ponyville...I haven't found anypony else that's interested in learning dark magic... I've...WAAAAAAAHH!!!" Pinkie pie cried. Unleashing years of sadness onto the mare, Spike came over and comforted the sad mare, knowing how she felt. "IM SO ALONE!!! NO PONY UNDERSTANDS ME!!! THEY ALL THINK IM A PARTY PONY!! AND ALL THE STALLIONS DONT TAKE ME SERIOUSLY!!! IM GONNA DIE ALOOOONE!! WAAAAAH-AAHH"

Spike felt pity for Pinkie. He knows what is like to be alone. In his days in cantrlot, everyone either thought he was a spoiled brat Cas of his princess states or a heartless monster that deserved to die. He looked at Pinkie with sad eyes and said "I know how you feel Pinkie."

Both mares stared at the dragon confused and worried, with Rarity saying "What do you mean darling? How do you know...?"

Spike gulped out of fear. Hoping that they don't think he's being a big about this and think he's a wimp. "B-back in cantrlot, before I moved to ponyville with Twilight...I was always treated like a monster. Nopony wanted to be my friend Cas they thought I was a mindless monster, a freak...even when I made a friend, Pony would say that I eat foals whole in one bite..." Spike was now the one crying, remembering those dark times in his life. "Even with all that, a mare thought I was cool. Cool enough to date even"

Rarity felt the sting of jealously but decided to listen to him instead of reacting just yet. While Pinkie pie, for an unknown reason, felt a surge of jealousy flow through her heart. She always adored Spike and found his presence comfortable and welcoming. Time had helped her feelings for the dragon grow into something beautiful, and she wanted to tell him. How can anypony be dumb enough to dump Spike was truly Stupid to say the least.

Spike gulped in sadness, but continued, saying " The first two weeks were going great. We had dates, had some laughs, we even kissed. But...then that day arrived *sniff*"

*flashback 3 years ago*

Spike had arrived at the park where Moondancer wanted to meet him. He had brought daffodils and chocolate to give to her as a present as a thank you gift. When he got there, Moondance was there with a serious face. Spike happily said "good morning my luner love! How are you this find day?" Moondancer didn't say anything and that got Spike concerned. "Everything ok my angel? You seem troubled."

Moondancer began to speak with pain in her voice saying "Spike...I...we're though."

Spike tried to play it off as a joke saying "do you have Allergies Moondancer? Cas it sounded like you said were though?"

Moondancer yelled "I did say we're though! I don't want to go out with you anymore!"

Those words were devastating to him, he asked "W-what did I do Moondancer?! Was I not caring enough? Charming enough? Did I forget your birthday? Or-"

Moondancer then said "It's not that! It's...it's because your a dragon. We're not the same species. I'm sorry."

Spike heart broke into pieces. He knew this was too good to be true. He clamped his claws into fists and said "So because I'm not a colt you dump me like trash?"

Moondancer then said "what? Spike your not trash. I just said-"

"That I'm a dragon!? A heartless monster?! A foal eating beast?! Because I've heard all of that and then some! I can't believe I thought this relationship would work. Your just like the rest of these ponys in this Celestia forsaken city! You never loved me! You USED me! You never cared for me! I thought you were different from the others, but I was wrong!"

Spike ran from Moondancer crying has she reached out and said "Spike wait!"

"Stay away from me you evil heartbreaker!!!" Spike continued to run out of the park, humiliated and heartbroken, as he ran back to the castle."

*end of flashback*

Spike at this ponit was balling his eyes out, eyes red with tears saying "and I never saw her again after that...*sniff* Wahhhh!"

The sight of Spike crying was too much to bear as Rarity had tears of her own as she hugged him, wanting to make his pain disappear. But even dark magic couldn't help here.

Pinkie had tears as well, along with a huge feeling of anger inside her. It was building as she heard the story and his break up with Moondancer was the tipping ponit and yell "THAT FOUR EYED HEARTBREAKER!! HOW DARE SHE DO THAT TO YOU! DUMPING YOU JUST CAS YOUR A DRAGON?! HOW STUPID CAN THAT MARE BE!? At this point, she lifted a wooden chair she had in her room and slammed it into the wall and smashed into pieces on contact. " your the strongest, smartest,most cutest young dragon I've ever met! I would date you in a heart beat. In fact-"

Pinkie pie carried the young drake and said, "I'll be your marefriend Spike! I loved you for so long that it hurts not being around you! I'll fix your heart and help you forget that dumbdancer! Spike the dragon, make me your mare friend!"

Spike was caught off guard when Pinkie pie confessed her love for him. He didn't know what to do. But Rarity answered before he could think of a answer and said "Pinkie, darling! I hate to break it to you, but I'M Spike's mare friend, actually." Pinkie was devastated when she heard and said "but-"

Rarity interrupted before Pinkie could say anything to say " but I am sharing him with Twilight since we both love him so...I wouldn't mind to share him with you too. What do you say? Wanna be with Spike?"

Pinkie springed back up and said "Ohhhh yes! Yes yes yes! I would love to join you! If it's ok with Spike that is."

Spike knew where this was going. And he really can't argue with that. The fact that Pinkie got so angry on his behave was more then enough to convince him and said "sure Pinkie pie. I would love for you to join us."

Pinkie then yelled "YES! BEST DAY EVER!!!"

After lunch was made and ate, Rarity and Spike prepared to leave for The golden oak library when Pinkie came by to say "hey, where you going?"

Spike then said to her "we're on our way to see Twilight at Golden oak library. She said that she has something to show me and Rarity's tagging along. You wanna come with us?"

Pinkie happily said "of course I'll come with! I wanna show off my new drakefriend!"

"OUR new Drakefriend Pinkie dear. And I'm sure Twilight would want to join as well. But for now, let's be off you two. We don't wanna worry Twilight and Applejack now, do we?"

As the three of them headed for then headed to Golden oak library, Spike couldn't wrap his mind that yesterday he was pinning for Rarity, hoping for her to notice him. Now he has three marefriends with connections to dark magic. What could be better then this?

For Spike's future, he was gonna be one Happy drake when he finds out.

Truth revealed, and friendships made stronger part 1

As afternoon arrived, Spike,Rarity, and Pinkie pie were almost at golden oak library, they didn't notice two familiar Pegasus had spoted them and followed them, as they were talking about their ancestors when they noticed two familiar shadows hovering above them. Rarity noticed and said, "You know darling, it's rude to fly over, and not say hi. Come down so we can talk."

The two Pegasus came down and landed in front of them were Fluttershy and Rainbow dash. Two of their best friends. Rainbow dash spoke up and said, "Hey guys, what are you up to? Going to a party?"

Pinkie pie giggled and said, "Not this dashie! No party today!"

Spike then said, "She's right. We're all on the way to the library to see the surprise Twilight made. She says it's an apology for last night."

Fluttershy sounded concerned and said "an apology? What happened? Did you two have a argument?"

Spike looked guilty, remembering the events of the night before. "Something like that."

Rarity saw the stress in his eyes and said "let's wait till we get to the library darling. Then we'll explain everything...and I mean everything."

Pinkie had an idea what she was talking about and was worried, Fluttershy and Rainbow dash were confused about what there talking about, and Spike knew exactly what they were talking about and said " Rarity, are you sure you want to tell them everything?"

Rarity then said "friends don't keep secrets from other friends. Especially best friends. I'll leave my fate to them when the time comes."

All three mares were concerned, wondering what's going on. Spike then said " I promise we'll explain everything at the library. Come on let's go, Twilight and Applejack are waiting. "

They all arrived at golden oak library where they found Twilight and Applejack waiting for them inside as Twilight said "There you are! I was getting worried you weren't gonna show!"

Spike was quick to apologize saying "Sorry Twilight. We when to get lunch before heading here, we ran into Pinkie pie on the way and-"

Twilight covered his mouth with her hoof and said " it's ok, Spike, I understand. Pinkie pie CAN be distracting for anypony." While she was covering his mouth with her hoof, Spike licked her accidentally and she felt it, but didn't make a scene about it. Instead she looked at him with seductive eyes and said "you liked how I tasted spike~" Spike nodded and said "you honestly tasted like a shiny sapphire. So elegant yet tangy~"

Twilight blushed, it was kinda weird that her little brother was describing her like that. Then she remembered that he was her drakefriend now and found it flattering that he describing her like his second favorite kind of gem. She then said "oh Spike, you little flirt you." She kissed him on the check and he had hearts floating around his head.

Applejack already knew the story about their behavior, while Rainbow dash and Fluttershy were shocked and confused about what just happened. Meanwhile, Rarity and Pinkie pie are jealous that they didn't get tasted and were upset, with Rarity saying "ahem? Spike dear? Did you forget that you have two more marefriends that want to be tasted?"

Twilight immediately jumped and said "Wait Two?! What's going on Rarity?!"

Rarity didn't think this was gonna the first reveal of the day, but it's for the better then isn't it. "Darling, like I said we were late Cas of pinkie and it seemed that she was down in the dumps with her dating life, but she seemed to reach her breaking ponit when we heard about his nasty break up in cantrlot."

Twilight immediately knew what she was talking about and Immediately had a angry look on her and said "oh I know what about that day. Spike came home crying his eyes out when Moondancer break up with him. She said that it was because he was a dragon...I've hated what she said so much that I didn't bother to make other friends till now."

Rainbow dash was the first to respond after hearing what happened and say "I can't believe that some ponys would spread gossip like that! Spike's the most chill dragon I've ever met!"

Fluttershy chimed in and said "he's also really helpful to us all. I don't understand how somepony can be so selfish.

Applejack decided to put her two bits On this and say "more like plain stupid if you ask me. Why if I we're dating you I wouldn't care if your a dragon or a pony. As long as you put In the work, I'm glad to court you!" She immediately blushed, realizing what she said. "Not that I thought about it or anything. Hehe."

Rarity took her attention back to Twilight while leaving a mental note to check back with Applejack on that bit of detail. "Now Twilight darling. I only offered her to join Cas I felt sorry for her, but we also respect your choice on the matter as well. What do say darling? Want Pinkie to join us?"

Twilight had to think for a minute. She was still new to the whole 'group couples' or herds as she's heard them called, and didn't know if it would work. Then again, this was her friends she was talking about, and together, they can over come anything! Even if her other friends want to join, she would invite them with open hoofs. She decided and said, "Sure, why not? Welcome to the herd Pinkie!"

Pinkie had happily "Yes! Thanks Twilight! I promise to be a great herd member!"

While Spike was happy about this, he wanted to get back on track and said "that was touching, but Twilight? What was the Surprise you wanted us to see?"

Twilight then remembered why they were all here and said "thanks for the reminder Spike. I have something to show you girls and Spike down in the basement. Follow me!"

They all followed Twilight and Applejack to the basement where the Surprise for Spike was at. The basement was filled with electronic and scientific equipment that didn't seem to fix in this kind of world. But as ponys got more advanced, they wanted to create a world when magic and science could co-exist together. And Twilight wanted to excel in both science like Spike and in magic like princess Celestia.

As they made their way to the bottom, Twilight said "Spike, remember you were working on something before we...you know."

Spike looked saddened, remembering the events of last night and shuddering from those moments. Fluttershy saw this, she couldn't take what was happening anymore. "Twilight! What happened to you and Spike last night!?"

Spike,Twilight,Rarity, and Applejack looked with saddened expressions, knowing what happened,Rainbow dash, at this point, looked concerned at the tension in the air, and Pinkie pie was also concerned as well and said " look. Whatever happened, we will understand. We've had fights before, right?"

Spike sighed, knowing that they won't budge until they've heard the story. He then said "well, it all started last night..."

15 minutes later

"And thats what happened, for the most part"

Spike had explained what had happened, while hiding some details like The dark magic cult,Rarity nightmare form returning, and the fact that Rarity ascending into a alicorn.

Fluttershy had tears in her eyes, imaging how they were hurting when they struck not only physically but also emotionally, she immediately hugged the both of them and said "im so sorry you two had to endure that!"

Pinkie pie also felt sad for them. But understood why it happened. "You two were so stressed and tired that you two took out your frustration on each other. But it's nothing a party won't fix! *gasp!* how about you guys come to supercube corner and we can have a 'Spike and Twilight make up' party!

Rainbow dash then said "that sounds like a plan! Plus Pinkie's right. You two didn't mean to go that far, so it's no one's fault. And the two of you are definitely monsters. Your definitely the most friendly creatures I've ever met!"

Twilight and Spike realized that their friends were right. They weren't monsters to each other. They hugged each other and said "I'm so sorry!" The Two of them cried as they held each other in embrace. They looked into each other's eyes...and kissed. Their love came to the surface and their hearts warmed happily as the both of them thought "this is my first kiss!"

While both Rarity and Pinkie pie were jealous that they weren't Spike's first kiss, the scene thay played out was too precious to care about that. Rarity pulled out a hanky and dried her eyes while Pinkie just used her hoof to dry them. There wasn't a dry pair of eyes seeing this. Even Rainbow dash let out a tear or two when she saw this.

As they broke the kiss, Twilight regained her composer and continued to say "well anyway, earlier in the morning I woke up and noticed your project that I...interrupted."

Spike shuttered and said "yeah. What about it?"

Twilight smiled, "Well, after looking though what you did I've decided to finish it for you! With a few more upgrades then before. *wink*

Spike's eyes widen and said "Wait. You've finished it?! Oh Twilight, thank you thank you THANK YOU!" Spike then when to kiss Twilight multiple times on her face with Twilight blushing red as she said "Spike i didn't do it on my own. Applejack helped too." He looked at Applejack and said " oh thank you too Applejack! You deserve some of Twilight'a reward too!" Applejack's eyes widen when he said that. but before she could down down his offer, Spike leaped up and started to kissing her on her face in happiness. Applejack didn't want to be rude and turn him down again after last time, so she let him do this to her...only to them to lock lips and held it for a few moments. They both felt embarrassed, but at the same time, it felt amazing. Applejack especially felt like this as she thought "this is my first kiss!" And she loved every moment of it!

As the two of them broke the kiss, the others had different reactions to the surprise kiss, most surprised, while some were jealous of Applejack. Applejack herself felt a feeling that she hadn't felt since Spike saved her from the timber wolfs when she stuck her hoof in a rock wedge. She thought at first it was nerves from him saving her, but now they were back, and stronger then before. She wanted to talk to big Mac about this and saving it for later.

Spike while confused why he did that, decided to say "T-thanks Twilight! I appreciate this...actually while I was coming here...I wanted to tell you the reason why I was upgrading your machine in the first place. "

Rarity nodded and said "actually darling. The reason he was upgrading it for you was because he was helping me. You see, before you two fought, Spike was at my place and...somethings happened the night before..."

At this point, Twilight feared the worse and said "Rarity? ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"

Rarity blushed hard and said "TWILIGHT! Why would you think that! I am a lady, and I'm saving myself for the love of my life! Isn't that right Spikey wikey~ *wink*"

Spike's heart pounded at the thought and said "Y-Yeah Rarity! I-I'm saving myself for marriage too!"

Twilight blushed in embarrassment and said "I'm sorry Rarity. I-I panicked! I never thought you were a tramp!"

Rarity composed herself and said "it's alright darling, Accidents happen." Rarity and Spike walked in front of their friends to reveal the truth "Well the truth is darlings..." Rarity looked at Spike, as he gave her courage to tell her friends her secret." Well you see...Something DID happen two nights ago...Do you all remember when I was attacked and taked over by the nightmare force a few months ago?"

The girls looked at each other, remembering their encounter with nightmare Rarity. They thought they would never see their friend again after she had trapped them in the nightmare. But with the help of Spike, they broke its control over Rarity and she was freed from the nightmare force.

Rarity continued on saying, "Well darling...ummm..." Spike could tell she was losing her nerve, that she was thinking of backing down, but he could let her stop now and said "Rarity, maybe it would be faster to show them rather then tell. I know your scared of what they'll say, but you gotta be brave. I'm sure our friends will understand."

Everypony began to be concerned. Wondering what's was happening and what was Rarity hiding. But even with all the unknowns, they still comforted her with Twilight saying, "Rarity. It's ok. We won't judge you if something happened to you. We're your friends. And we're not going anywhere!"

Rarity, now feeling confident again, looked at Spike, giving him a determined look, nodded.
She closed her eyes and focused her magic on her transformation as her horn glowed a deep purple. Deep purple magic enveloped her as she transformed. Her figure getting taller, her horn get longer, and her wings exposed for all to see. When she was finished, she reappeared as nightmare rarity, and her friends were shocked!

Twilight, being in front of the group said "What?! Nightmare Rarity!? But I thought she was defeated for good months ago!" She charged her horn, determined to blast the nightmare out of her friend, when Spike jumped in front of her and said,"Wait! Don't shoot!" Twilight paused and said "Spike! What are you doing?! That's-" Spike interrupted her and said "I know what it looks like, but the Nightmare force doesn't control Rarity anymore! If anything, she controls its power now! If it was, it would have put me in a mind control state and attacked you guys way earlier then now."

Twilight had to admit he had a point. Having studied mind controlling spells from princess Celestia, she would have noticed ant weird behavior coming from Spike this morning when she went to go check on him this morning. Still, she used her magic to detect any signs of mind controlling magic in Spike's mind. Sure enough, let Spike said, he wasn't affected by mind control. Twilight turned off her magic and moved forward saying "Rarity?" Rarity understandably looked nervous, thinking that Twilight was still mad saying "y-yes darling? "How did you get stuck with the Nightmare force inside you?"

Rarity then told the events of the night before and everything from her and Spike's conversation. Twilight was confused and said "So you broke free from its influence by your will and it stayed with you Cas it needed a host"

Rarity spoke somberly and said "that's about the size of it darling...well except for one thing."

Twilight looked nervous again and said "what? Was there side effect to the bonding?"

Rarity then said "more like a unexpected benefit. It's what happens AFTER I revert back to normal."

The others now even more confused especially Twilight said "what do you mean when you revert back to normal?"

Rarity then used her magic to revert back to normal- minus the glamor spell- to reveal her next secret. Her new pair of white wings. The sight shocked Twilight and the others as they saw what happened. Twilight then spoke "R-Rarity? Your...AN ALICORN?! BUT HOW?!"

Rarity then responded "I honestly have no idea darling. I reverted back to normal and I looked like this. Spike did say he had a theory on why I'm a alicorn now."

Spike then proceeded to explain his theory on how such a Phenomena was possible in the first place. "Well everypony, my theory is that the nightmare force must have absorbed some of princess Luna's alicorn power and its been growing in it ever since. And when Rarity broke though the corrupt influence of the nightmare force, the power needed a new host, so when Rarity will won over it, it saw Rarity worthy of the alicorn power. Kinda like how princess Celestia saw you worthy after you completed star swirls final spell to pass your test. The explains why she turned into an alicorn without another alicorn there present for the ritual."

Everypony was confused by Spike's theory that they didn't know what to think...except for Twilight that figured out what he meant. "So it's like she ascended into a alicorn with getting crowned a princess? A alicorn with a crown so to speak?"

Spike gave a wink and said "Exactly Twilight! I knew you'd figure it out!"

Rainbow dash was suddenly excited and said "Do you guys know what this means?! A new flying buddy!!!"

Spike continued on despite the interruption and said "And that's also why I needed to upgrade the machine to handle alicorn training."

Twilight suddenly had a look of realization. Now knowing who were the upgrades were for. "They were originally to test and monitor Rarity and her new alicorn powers. Ain't they?"

Spike looked guilty and just nodded. Twilight continued and said "And she didn't want you to tell anypony Cas of what happened when she was possessed last time?" Spike nodded but was disappointed. He tried to keep the secret but blew it in the last second.

Twilight could see the shame on his face and wanted to kiss him and make him feel better, but Rarity beat her to it and said "Spike, honey? I know I told you to keep it a secret. And it's my fault I didn't believe in our friends enough that they blame me immediately. I put so much stress on you, and I'm so sorry for that, my brave and loyal young dragon." Rarity kissed her on the lips and for a few moments their world stood still, nothing moved or mattered to the duo. They were in their own moment when the kiss broke and Rarity said " Can you ever forgive me, my love?" Spike immediately said "your forgiven my lovely."

Pinkie pie, fuming at this point with jealous, wanted to keep this moving and said "hey, sorry to interrupt, but isn't there one more secret you were gonna tell?"

Rarity realized what she meant and said "thank you for reminding me Pinkie dear. Now then, like Pinkie pie said, there is one more thing I need to address...and that's-"

"WAIT!" Spike yelled, realizing where she is going with this. "Are you sure this is ok you two? What if your taken away forever?!"

Rarity looked worried for Spike. She didn't realize the risk of telling them her dark past. Pinkie didn't think about the risk as well, but this time, she was the one who when and comforted Spike by saying "look Spike, I get how you feel. I understand that fear you have that we could be taken away. I'm afraid too. But I have a reason to face that fear now! It's because of a certain young purple dragon that gives me the strength to plow though any obstacles that come for our Hoard and you!" Pinkie pie then kissed Spike on the lips for a few moments and they felt in bless.

Rarity, realized that what Pinkie said applies to her as well. After the two of them broke their kiss she said "Spike...I promise nothing will ever come between us. I pinkie promise."

Spike smiled and nodded, giving Rarity the ok to continue. She nodded back, prompting Pinkie pie and Spike to join her side.

Rarity breathed in and out, calming herself as she began to tell her secret. "Twilight, do you remember Spike's wound he has when you blasted him point black range with lethal magic?"

Twilight looked down in shame. Remembering the moment she had injured her brother/lover with a nasty wound on his side. And leaking quite the bit of blood from what she remembered. She then looked where the wound was and saw that it was totally healed. With everything else that was going on, she didn't notice and said "Spike, how are you healed so fast?! I-I nearly killed you! I-I ..." Spike hugged Twilight to calm her down and said "it's ok Twilight. Rarity fixed me up last night when I ran from hurting you last night. It's ok."

Twilight, still feeling guilty, said "it's NOT ok Spike! I could have killed you if I put more power in that spell! I-I I'm so sorry Spike!"

Spike felt similar feelings to what Twilight had expressed and said "what about me Twilight? I burned your underbelly! If I had put more power in that fireball, it would have burned you even more, or the flames could have burned you so much that you couldn't have foals anymore, it could have been more fatal if you were still a unicorn! I COULD HAVE KILLED YOU TWILIGHT!!!"

The both of them said with pain "IM A MONSTER!!!"

Rarity quickly said " I know it's hard to think about but we'll all help you though this, together.

The two of them calmed down as Twilight began to ask "Rarity, how did you heal Spike in such a fast amount of time? Even the most powerful healing spells can take a few days with a injury that Spike had."

Rarity braced herself and said "well darling, it's involves my past...and the past of those around you."

Twilight and the others,besides Pinkie pie, were confused about what she said as she brought out her tome of unicorns, to show them her family's past and lineage. "This is the tome of unicorns. One of the lost tome from the dark magic cult." Rarity held her breath, Wondering what Twilight reaction would be.

Twilight had clocked her mind into overdrive, trying to think of references to this mysterious dark magic cult that Rarity mentioned, But nothing came to mind. She would have imagined that if this was known as a danger, Princess Celestia would have told her about it, but there was nothing on this. Not even in the castle's restrictions levels held anything on this dark magic cult. So she asked Rarity "what's this dark magic cult Rarity? Are they evil?"

Rarity quickly answered "No Twilight, they definitely weren't evil in the slightest. In fact during the days after discord was sealed away, they helped heal ponys hurt by discord chaos and helped rebuild equestria from the ground up. They also wanted to make dark magic a asset to pony so it can benefit all pony kind and make it safe to use without it corrupting the user. Like king sombra was."

Twilight couldn't resist anymore once she said that and asked " C-Can I read the tome...pretty please?"

Rarity looked at Pinkie pie and Spike who gave a confirmed nod and said "ok Twilight. We trust you. Just be careful with it ok?"

Twilight gleefully bounced with excitement at the thought of reading a book that's been lost for over a thousand years. Knowledge is power after all! She began to open to tome and read what was inside it, and it blew her mind away. "Wow! Wow wow wow wow!! I've never even heard of some of these spells! A water into metal spell, a duplication spell, even a animation spell for enactment objects! You know what I can do with this spell?! I can help Spike with the chords by making a bunch of brooms come to life!"

Rarity chuckled and said "I've actually done that spell in my younger years actually. Long before meeting Spike, I would be so busy with my orders that the boutique would so messy!"

Twilight giggled and said "you mean more then usual?" Rarity scoffed and said "it's not a mess, It's organized chaos! It's completely different!" Rarity continued on to say."Anyway, my chores would pill up so much that it was overwhelming. So I found the tome and tried out the animation spell on a bunch of brooms we had laying around."

Rarity remembered she was working on a special red robe for a clients costume with matching blue wizards hat with stars on it to compliment it and tried it on herself to see if it would satisfy there client. She casted the spell with the tome and made the broom come to life to help with her chores. She humed a tune she heard on the radio (don't ask how equestria would have technology like that here) and made more to make the work go by faster. However, she fell asleep on her work desk while casting it and caused the spell to continue on its own. When she woke up, her boutique was clean but now it was flooded Cas the brooms never stopped gathering water from the local watering hole. She tried to cast the reverse spell on them but couldn't get them to stay in one place. She only had one option left...she grabbed a ax she had for fire wood and began to chop the brooms down while chasing them though out the boutique and even though ponyville. She eventually got all the brooms chopped up and got her boutique all dry, but her client decided to cancel the order after coming down with a cold and said she could keep it for her troubles. She still had the costume and puts it on occasionally to this day.

Rarity, spike and the rest of the girls laughed at Rarity story as Rainbow dash said "that was hilarious! That also explains why the weather team needed to get a few rain clouds at the watering hole fast."

Rarity blushed at the memory and said "yes Dash darling that was my doing. I hadn't open the tome since, but when I saw poor Spikey wikey all hurt in more ways then one, I had to take action. So I brought out the dragon tome, concentrated on the healing spell, and our darling Spike was good as new!"

Twilight was peaked with interest when she heard the dragon tome. "Wait...there's a dragon tome?! Where is it?! It might teach more about dragons!"

Spike pulled the tome out from his ...pockets? And was about to speak when Rarity Said "Spike has to be extra careful with the tome. After all, HE'S the guardian of the tome of dragons after all." Twilight looked at Rarity with a shocked expression on her face, and quietly said "w-what? B-but how?"

Rarity said in a love sick look at Spike "because he's earned my trust and loyalty to him. He when above and beyond to help me with my new form and alicorn powers. So I entrusted him with two very important things. The tome...and my heart. Mmmmmpuh!" Rarity gave Spike a long kiss and Spike acted all dazed by it.

Twilight ,while a bit jealous, couldn't help but giggle at Spike's reaction to the sudden kiss,was tempted to do something similar then, but decided against to ask Rarity more about this dark magic cult. "Rarity. I would really like to know more about this dark magic cult that you mentioned before. I've never heard of it before today. And I have access of Princess Celestia's entire private library. Even the restricted section! And there was no mention of this dark magic cult anywhere."

Rarity looked at Twilight, and said "its no surprise you dont know about the cults existence Twilight. Because as far as Princess Celestia is concerned, it's wiped out from the face of equestria."

Twilight, growing concerned, asked "what do you mean by that? It sounds like your saying the princess was responsible for erasing the cult from existence. "

Rarity said nothing, knowing Twilight had hit the mark on why the cult was gone. Twilight's eyes shrank into disbelief, she didn't think that Princess Celestia could do something like this without reason. She wanted to ask her, but didn't want to put her lovers in danger. She decided to not ask yet, and say "she did wipe it out. Didn't she?"

Rarity nodded, not surprised that Twilight would figure it out. "Yes, she enacted the order to Wipeout our families legacy. And they almost succeeded. But my family and their friends, snuck into the cult library, and took six times, and escaped the cult before Celestia's knights could burn the tomes and wiped out their memories."

"Six tomes? Don't you mean seven my dear fashion cultess?" The voice boomed though the library, but didn't attract the attention of ant ponys outside. A smoke cloud appeared in the middle of the room. When it cleared out, it revealed the draconians of equestria, the God of chaos himself, discord! "Why hello everypony! Sorry to drop in unannounced!"

Fluttershy, being the one who's closest to discord, was quick to ask "what are you doing here discord? Our tea time isn't till tomorrow."

Discord chuckled and said "don't worry fluttershy, I didn't get confused...this time. No, I'm here to return this tome to its rightful owner. Here you go rarity dear."

Discord reached into his hammer space, "really? That's what's your calling it?" Hey, it works for most people! "But I'm not most people, I'm the God of chaos! I don't-" look, can we discuss this another time? This chapter is nearing five thousand words as it is. "Fine, it'll be to be continued. " Good. Ahem, discord reach into his hammer space and pulled out a tome that's had the same design as the other tomes and Rarity recognized it. "It...it can't be...the tome of chaos?! But...but how?! I thought-" tia's soldiers wiped it out along with everything else? Nope! I wouldn't allow something my friends made be turned into firewood."

Everypony then shouted "WHHHAAAAAT!?"

..."You wrote that in on purpose, didn't you?"
Maybe. :) "...respect where it's due."

Rarity snapped out of her confused state and said "you mean you and my ancestors were friends?!"

Discord looked serious and said, "Correct. You see, I wasn't always created chaos just for the fun of it, when the first pony's arrived in what was my old kingdom, they tried to beat me with dark magic...it didn't work out. As they didn't much control over it. Admittedly, I felt bad for them and took pity on them. So I decided to help them with their research. As time when on, the group and I quickly became friends! They learned how let their imaginations run wild to make their spells work properly, and I learned that friendship is magic, as you all and they put it. I even fell in love with one of them. Her name was Lillyfly, she was so intrigued by my chaos magic, that she spent all her free time with me. We played pranks, had tea, I helped her complete her tome of chaos, and she helped me remember the meaning of life. She also had a mysterious power of foresight, the power to see the future, and saw the cult being destroyed and all their hard work lost forever. Your ancestors quickly believed her and made preparations to leave, while Lillyfly and I made a plan to keep the them safe. I planned out a map for them to go somewhere and stay safe, while Lillyfly told me this.

As Lillyfly packed her travel bag to go, she turned to discord, gave him the tome of chaos, and said, "Please keep our tome safe. And I'll keep our treasure safe. I'll miss you, my dashing draconus." Discord, wiping away a tear, said "and I'll miss you, my little Lilly. I promise I'll take care of our treasures. I Lilly promise." They shared a kiss before discord left to distract Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and keep the tome safe, Lillyfly and her friends left the cult before Celestia's troops arrived the next day to destroy their old life.

Rarity then asked "so you sacrifice yourself so our ancestors can escape?" Discord nodded, "so the means...you knew about friendship... but you still attacked us? Why?"

Discord looked down and said, "I guess I was still upset with Celestia about separating me from my friends...and the love of my life."

Everypony looked at discord with sympathy, they couldn't imagine going though such torment for a thousand years. Surprisingly, Spike was the one to speak first and said, "I... actually get why you did that then. If I lost the mares I love...I would be lost in grief and anger. I'm sorry for you lost discord." The mare 6 also gave their condolences to discord before Rarity said "Discord. As a guardian of the tomes. I thank you for you sacrifice to protect our ancestors legacy. Isn't that right fluttershy? Guardian of the tome of changelings?"

Everybody except for Discord was surprised when Rarity said that...but were more surprised when Fluffershy had a smirk and said "heh. I'm impressed Rarity. How did you know?"

Rarity had a prideful look on her face and said "I have my ways, darling. When I found out the other two identitys of the descendants of the cult, your identity was a no brainer. Your shy act most of the time is really convincing."

Fluttershy got nervous and said "ummm most of the time...it's not a act. I'm always scared of new ponys. But my fear of dragons, THAT'S the act there."

Rainbow dash then had a realization. "Wait a minute...all this time...and you didn't bother to help with Spike during the trip to the dragon land?!"

Fluttershy then looked guilty and said "I was only protecting my identity Cas If i saw a dragon, I would be fan maring if I when to dragon lands, I love dragons! ...but that's no excuse for not helping Spike. Can you ever forgive me Spike?"

Spike had immediately hugged her and said "I already did fluttershy" Fluttershy blushed, as a familiar pounding in her heart started up in her heart."

Discord then said "that's my great,great, great,great, great, great, great, great ,great grand daughter!"

Everypony then said "WHAAAAAT?!"

Fluttershy was admittedly the most shocked by the news. Her whole life,she never thought she was part draconian, or that her 10x great grand father was discord. She suddenly then said "IM SO HAPPY! YOUR WE'RE RELATED DISCORD!!!" She then Hugged discord and said,"im glad to meet you, grandfather!"

Discord then did something no pony though he do, shed a tear as he said, "and I'm glad to meet you, my granddaughter."

Everypony in the room did not have a dry eye as the scene played out, a lost connection to family was brought together once more.

Spike then asked "so who are the other two descendants of the cult?"

Rarity then chuckled and said "oh, can't you tell darling? There right here!" She then pointed at Rainbow dash and Applejack who were confused and said "whoa there Rarity! I don't know if you know this, but Pegasus and especially earth ponys can't do normal magic."

Rarity raised a eyebrow and said, "Applejack darling, of course you can. It's in your blood. Your ancestors were the masters of not only harvesting fruits and vegetables. But magic and potions too! In fact, from what I heard, star swirl the bearded would ask for assistance from your ancestors for some especially hard potions."

Applejack was taken back by all of this, she never imagined her family associated and help somepony as important as star swirl. At least that what Twilight would have said If she wasn't so shocked by the news.

Rainbow then asked "How I'm I related to the cult? Applejacks right, Besides the weather, we can't do regular magic."

Rarity then said with a sly smile " you might want to check again darling. Remember the legend of the sonic rainboom?" Rainbow dash then tried to remember the tale of the sonic rainboom. "Well...it was last preformed by a Rainbow Pegasus over one thousand years ago and hasn't been repeated since...till I mastered it!" Rainbow said proudly. "Whoever made it in the first place, Cleary didn't have enough skill to master it completely!"

Rarity then said "be careful what you say Rainbow dear. You don't know who invented it...but I do~"

This got Rainbow's attention and said "Wait WHAT?! BUT HOW?! NO PONYS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT!"

Rarity then had a sly smile and said "think about all that I told you today Rainbow. I'm sure you can figure it out."

Rainbow dash thought about it for a minute and then it hit her. "WHAAAAAAT?! MY ANSCESTORS INVENTED THE SONIC RAINBOOM?!"
