A cool Autumn night, and Celestia has just arrived home in Canterlot after giving a speech in Ponyville. As she steps out of her carriage, she reflects on the day. It was a normal night, nothing of importance seemed possible. It happened all too quickly.
A gunshot, a collapsed princess, a puddle of blood,
and nothing more.
The shooter is determined to be a high ranking official in the New Lunar Republic movement. Luna is blamed as inspiration and is charged with treason against The Solar Empire. Luna does not want to fight, as she grieves over her sister, but with citizens more divided than ever, she knows war is unavoidable.If she is going to survive, she must lead the revolution.

The Flames

Princess Celestia looked over her capital city blankly as her carriage descended over Canterlot Castle. Reflecting upon the speech she had given in Ponyville earlier that day, she thought:

“That could have gone better; I was lucky Twilight stepped in before a riot broke out.”

Tensions were rising in Equestria, and Celestia had reason to believe her sister was plotting against her. The New Lunar Republic movement was gaining steam once more, and the sun goddess had done all she could to stop it. All she could do now was hope Luna came to her senses.

The carriage touched down lighter than air in front of the castle steps, and as she stepped out, she took note of her sister’s beautiful, star-spangled night. It was a full moon, and not a cloud in the sky.

“That’s odd,” Celestia thought, “the pegasi informed me that it would be too cloudy to see the moon.”

She thought nothing more of it. She began the walk back to the castle, a deafening silence surrounding her. Then, a bang shattered the silence.

A thud upon the ground,

a pool of blood,

and nothing more.

As her vision faded, the last thing Celestia saw was Luna’s moon hanging in the night sky.
