It was a bright and sunny day out in Ponyville. It was the kind of day where everypony seemed to be happy, no matter what was going to happen.
One pony in particular, however, was the happiest of them all...
"Alright, let's see here... Got my fancy new hat, got my food, got my water bottle, and of course, my camera. Gotta bring something to use to record me yelling at my lazy army. And there, I think that's all!" said a pale purple pegasus pony. Said pony had a purple mane, green eyes, and a big bright star as a cutie mark. This pony was Nova Spark, leader of the great Pegasus Army.
Now, despite many ponies' (false) assumptions that leaders of the army always act serious, Nova Spark was anything but. He constantly makes jokes about the... weaknesses of his army members, makes fun of his enemies, likes to touch himself in public, and pretty much just never takes anything seriously. As expected, his stallions caught on pretty quickly, and as a result, the pegasus was forced to act serious all the time and never get distracted. So yeah, it doesn't really sound fun once you know what's in store.
Despite this, however, Nova Spark couldn't be more excited, because that day, a newcomer was joining the army!
"Gotta say, I'm pretty proud of myself. It's only been several months, and I've already managed to get a newcomer in my army!" said Nova as he stared into a mirror. "You're awesome, Nova. Keep being awesome."
Nova then proceded to check the time. It was currently twelve.
"Oh well, it's work time now. Guess I can show off to myself later, cuz for now, I gotta fly!" said the pegasus as he rushed out of his house, bag over neck, and proceded to soar up into the sky.
Meanwhile, in a secluded area far from Cloudsdale, two pegasus stallions rested themselves on the hard ground while waiting for their leader.
"So, like, you see any new movies lately?" said the pony on the left. He was a white stallion with a white and red mane, dark blue eyes, and had an exploding red balloon as a cutie mark. In addition to this, he also had a weirldy deformed body shape, looking more like a school foal than an army stallion. His real name was unknown, but everypony just called him "Shorty".
"Uh... no, not really. I do wanna see that movie with Twilight playing as a hot and lonely single mare, though," the other pony replied. He was a yellow stallion with a green mane, purpleish-pink eyes, and had a broken piece of wood as a cutie mark. He was also much taller than the average adult pony. His name was Heavy Lifter.
"Oh, you mean Rough Times? I just saw that two days ago!"
"Wow, lucky."
"Why are you so interested in seeing it anyways?" asked 'Shorty'. "We both know for a fact that Twilight is anything but single in real life!"
"Heh, yeah," replied Heavy. "I bet Twi just loves to ride her boyfriend Flash only ten minutes into the night!"
Shorty laughed at that comment. "Yeah, and I bet if she found out we knew, she'd be all like, "No, I swear, I would never do such an action to my lovely boy Flash!"
Heavy started to laugh as well. "Come on, really? Such an 'action'? Seriously, Twilight? Just say that you let him fu-"
But before the tall pegasus pony could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a familiar voice...
"What's up, guys? I'm here and I'm ready to train!" said Nova Spark, who had just flown in. Heavy looked over at him, straightened his mane a bit, and cleared his breath.
"Oh, uh... hey, Nova! Didn't expect to see you here... so... late..." He said the last two words in a mildly disappointed tone and looked towards Nova with an equally cold expression.
"Okay, I get it, I'm late! Now can we just welcome this newcomer and get over it?" the purple pegasus replied.
"Yeah, um, that's the thing," said Shorty.
"We, uhh... we haven't seen the newcomer yet," said Heavy, who wore a slightly anxious expression on his face. He hoped Nova wasn't going to be too mad at him...
Unfortunately for the yellow pegasus, he was.
"...What?" replied the leader in an angered tone.
"Uhh.. well..." Heavy tried to explain himself, but Nova wasn't willing to hear it.
"I give you guys one job, and you failed at it!?" The purple pegasus was really angered now.
"Yeah, I think we should leave-" Shorty tried to explain to Heavy, but that was not going to happen. Not on Nova's watch.
"Why you little-" Nova was about to pounce on his army stallions, until suddenly, he saw something falling from the sky. Or was it somepony instead...?
The thing falling from the sky got closer and closer, to the point where Nova could now identify what it was. It wasn't an object, it really was a pony!
Could it be the newcomer...?
Before Nova could think about the falling pony anymore, it screamed. He heard the voice. It was a stallion.
Only a few seconds later, the stallion hit the ground flat on his face.
"Oh no... is he okay?" asked Shorty.
"That must've been a pretty bad fall..." said Heavy.
Both Shorty and Heavy thought that Nova was going to help up the stallion or at least just ask him about his physical state. However, to their surprise, he was laughing.
"Oh my Celestia! What... what the hell was that kind of entrance!?" The leader said between laughs.
"Nova, aren't you like, gonna help him up or something?" Heavy asked.
"Come on Heavy, don't act like it's not funny!" replied Nova, who was still laughing at the poor stallion's fall. "That was... that was a face-crack! I bet his teeth fell on his tounge!"
"Nova..." Shorty mildly scolded his leader.
"Fine..." Nova reluctantly replied as he helped up the stallion. "Alright, there you go- OH MY CELESTIA." He stopped and noticed the stallion staring directly towards him. This stallion was a pale green pegasus with a green mane, yellow eyes, and had a piece of paper for a cutie mark. But this stallion's body wasn't the only thing he was staring at. He looked at his face, his beautiful face... His eyes looked like they had stars in them. His mane was pretty well-combed, too. And he smelled nice, like he was covered in candy and flowers... And of course, he had to get a look at his perfect wing-
"What are you staring at? You know, my eyes are up here," said the stallion, sounding just a tiny bit annoyed.
"Uh- hey there, whatever your name is! Are you the newcomer for the great Pegasus Army?" asked Nova, who quickly turned around and saw both Shorty and Heavy smirking.
"My name's Windy Flaps. And yes, I am the newcomer." replied this 'Windy Flaps'.
"'Windy Flaps'? Bit of an unfortunate name, huh?" Nova couldn't help but make fun of Windy's name a bit. "Guess your parents hate you as much as mine did to me."
Windy just facehoofed at this. "Seriously, dude?"
"Yeah, seriously?" Shorty jokingly asked to Nova, who just shrugged.
"What's your name supposed to mean, anyways? 'Nova Spark'? Sounds like a rejected princess toy." Windy fought back at Nova, who just frowned.
"Luna f'ing damn it, Windy. Ya got me."
"Whatever, now aren't you just gonna tell me what I'm supposed to do around here?"
"Oh yeah! Right, right," Nova replied. "Basically we just train for one big massive fight around here. You see, there's an army of intruders called The Batponies, who are pretty much just batponies, so at least their names matches up. Anyways, they hate us for absolutely no reason, and they love to declare war on us, so we're basically all preparing to fight them."
"...okay. Well then, I think I'm just gonna put my stuff in one of those rooms over there, so, bye for now, I guess," said Windy as he was about to leave.
"Oh, and one more thing, Windy," said Nova.
"...What?"
"You look great in green," the leader said with a smile.
Windy said nothing. He just flew away, leaving Nova with his other army stallions.
"Okay, now what was that?" asked Shorty.
"What was what?" replied Nova in a questioning tone.
"'You look great in green'," Heavy tried imitating Nova's voice. "You have a crush on that guy or what?"
"What? No!" Nova defended. "I was just saying how good he looked in green!"
"Yeah, cuz you probably wanna date him," Shorty teased.
"No!"
"Yes! Nopony would say that unless they had a crush on the pony they're saying that to!"
"Look, I get it. You think I'm in love. But I am not. I was simply saying that he looked nice," Nova tried to defend himself more, but it wasn't working.
"What do you know about looking nice? You look like Starlight and Dash's love child!" said Heavy. It was his turn to laugh now.
"Oh, really? Your hooves always look like they have shitmarks on them." Nova smirked.
"I swear, it's just chocolate!"
"Whatever, dude. At least wash your hooves before going out in public like that," said Nova. "You know what? I'm tired of this. I'm just gonna go into my sleeping quarters to have a little time by myself!" And with that, Nova left both Shorty and Heavy by themselves.
"He's going in there to hoof himself off," said Shorty.
"Yeah, totally," replied Heavy.
Meanwhile, at Nova Spark's living quarters, the purple pegasus thought to himself about what just happened. Was he really falling in love with Windy?
How could I fall in love with the newcomer, of all ponies? he thought. There must be something wrong with me... No. No, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with me. It's completely normal to fall in love with somepony.
Still, he thought something felt a bit off...
I can't believe I'm even thinking about him right now! What if he found out I fell in love with him, that would ruin my reputation forever! Oh, I won't be able to sleep with all this on my mind! Nova began to hit his head with his hooves. No no no, I'm gonna be fine. I've just gotta calm down for a bit.
Nova got up and began to walk out. And that's when he noticed the weird feeling between his back legs...
"Wow, I sure got pretty hard, huh?" He stared down at his stuff, until he got an idea...
"Well... I guess this is my chance to calm myself down..." said Nova as he began stroking it.
A few minutes later, Nova got up again, this time to take a shower. He got pretty messy after finishing, but it was worth it for now.
"Hey, I was right... I do feel much calmer now."
