I sat on top of a bean bag and continued reading my book as I listened to Applejack and Rainbow play some fighting game on Rainbow’s Xbox. We had all agreed to have a sleepover at her house and since Scootaloo was here, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle had tagged along. I had briefly talked to them when I first got her before they went off to go do God knows what kids do here.
“What are you reading?” Twilight asked as I looked up at her hanging over the edge of the bed to look at me. She had nothing going on in Equestria and had asked to come visit. I knew the other girls wouldn’t mind seeing her and I was always happy to spend time with a princess.
“Enders Game,” I answered and turned another page. “My favorite series.”
Twilight’s face lit up and she gave an enthusiastic smile as I prepared for a either a barrage of questions or a lecture. I love that girl like family but she can be intense.
Thankfully, Rarity interjected before Twilight could say anything.
“So darlings, I heard quite the interesting rumor about a certain rainbow haired guitar player and an apple farmer,” Rarity gave a cat-like grin at Applejack and Rainbow who both glanced at her. “Being caught making out in the locker room by a certain someone.”
“Oh fuck me,” Applejack mumbled as Rarity shot her a dirty look and I snorted a laugh.
“I’m gonna kill Cloudkicker,” Rainbow growled and rolled her eyes, pausing the game and leaning back against the bed. “Okay, you got us. So what?”
“So when were you gonna tell the rest of us?” Pinkie wailed and grabbed her face with a frown. “We tell each other everything! Like the time I accidentally had to run naked from the guys locker room to the girls locker room in freshman year after mistaking the two.”
“I thought that was a dare?” Fluttershy asked and brushed some hair out of her eye.
“Nope!” Pinkie giggled cheerfully and pulled a donut out of the box on the bed. Thankfully, nobody decided to question where that had came from.
“We planned on it but we wanted to have some time to get acquainted first,” Applejack explained and Rarity tapped a finger on her chin.
“I see. Pinkie has Cheese Sandwich, you two have each other,” Rarity started and I slowly tuned the others out as I continued reading until Rainbow cleared her throat.
I looked up and realized they were all staring at me for some reason.
“Yes?” I asked and cracked my neck.
“Rarity said Sunset was single and then Twilight said to ask you first,” Fluttershy whispered as I chuckled and went back to my book.
“Oh, I’m not single,” I chuckled again and turned a page. “I got a marefriend.”
“What?” Everyone except Twilight shouted and I winced. I really should have seen that coming. I fumbled with my book and Pinkie thankfully caught it as Rarity got scarily close to my face.
“Sunset Shimmer. Are you holding out on me?” Rarity asked quietly as I gently pushed her back. “Details darling.”
“Well, you never asked. What do you girls wanna know?” I asked and tossed Pinkie a piece of paper to mark my spot.
“Do we know him or her?” Applejack asked and I shook my head before pausing.
“Well, yes but no,” I answered and she rolled her eyes.
“Way to be cryptic.”
“Rainbow knows her and so does Fluttershy. Said she goes to a school in Cloudsdale,” I said and Rainbow scratched her head.
“So it’s a her,” Rainbow muttered to herself and I nodded.
“Mhm. I met her on the last trip I went to Equestria. Twilight was there but she is gonna stay quiet,” I shot Twilight a look and she blushed before nodding.
“You knew?” Pinkie shouted and shoved her on her back. “Spill!”
“Anyway, she’s a pegasus,” I continued and smiled fondly. “Nice mare. Took me a while before I started talking to her. Mainly because shyness and all.”
“I still find it weird you call them mares and such,” Rainbow muttered and I rolled my eyes. “What’s her name?”
“Cloudchaser. Really nice mare,” I answered and Rainbow shot up as Fluttershy let out a startled eep.
“You’re dating her?” Rainbow shouted and paced back and forth. “I played soccer in middle school with her. We go way back. She’s a pegasus in pony world?”
“Equestria,” Twilight instantly and I nodded with a smirk.
“Yes. She’s a member of the weather team in Ponyville. Nice body,” I mused and blushed slightly. “She’s got some nice pasterns. Don’t even get me started on her hindquarters.”
“Ah’m not sure if Ah should be comfortable with ya talking about a horse like that yet,” Applejack said after a moment of awkward silence with Twilight blushing bright red.
“Pony,” I corrected instantly. “We’re ponies. Horse is derogatory. That’s like if I called you a hillbilly because of your accent.”
“Right, sorry.”
I paused to take a sip of my water, clearing my throat after as Rarity stared me down with an unreadable expression.
“So darling, you thought you could hold out on me?” Rarity frowned slightly before she grinned. “Congrats, I’m very happy for you and Miss Cloudchaser. Rainbow has told me a lot about her human counterpart.”
“Thanks. She’s nice,” I blushed as I thought back to the night before I left for her. Nothing too crazy happened, just lots of making out in the theater.
“So wait a second,” Fluttershy raised a hand with a curious look. “She’s okay with you coming back to see here and you living here? How does that work?”
“Twilight explained it all to her and her sister. She’s okay with it. Hell, there’s small talk of her coming over here one day. That’d be nice,” I sighed and shrugged. “We will see. Did I satisfy your needs Rarity?”
“Not quite,” Rarity grinned wickedly at me and internally I shuddered. She may act all posh and stuff, but she is just as mischievous as Rainbow is. Maybe even more so and honestly? That makes me more worried and a bit scared of her. “So, what was your first date?”
“Watching the clouds on the edge of town. Apparently it’s her favorite spot she likes to go to at night occasionally or after work. She’s really flexible,” I blushed along with the others at the implication. “I mean, really flexible. She did this-”
“Please don’t continue,” Twilight cut me off with burning red cheeks. “For the love of Celestia.”
I chuckled as the door swung open and we all jumped, staring at a grinning Sweetie Belle as I raised an eyebrow and Scootaloo and Apple Bloom peered around aside her.
“Sunset Shimmer has a girlfriend?” Sweetie Belle squealed and we all covered our ears in pain. That girl could honestly shatter glass with her voice if she wanted. “Yes! I’m so happy right now!”
“Sweetie Belle! Were you three eavesdropping?” Applejack demanded as Sweetie nodded.
“Scootaloo wanted to see what being a spy was like if the CIA ever hired her,” Sweetie Belle explained as I snickered.
I chuckled as I watched Rarity chase after the three girls and I picked my book back up.
“Just one question,” Rainbow nudged me with a devilish grin as I glanced over the others. “I know Cloudchaser and well, she’s a toned down version of me who cares about her looks and is a bit like Rarity.”
“What now?” I sighed and closed my book again.
“Who keeps the other up at night?”
