He looks around the area in confusion. He looks down at his hands and freaks out. "Where are my hooves?!" He tries to back away from them but soon realizes they are attached to him. He takes in deep breaths trying to calm down. He stands up on his hands and feet but falls over, unable to keep his balance. "Ok... maybe i should try something different." He shakily stands on his two legs. Shaky steps follow suit as he tries to walk, having to catch himself on trees. He eventually gets the hang of the new walk and is able to escape the forest, into a small alley way. A flickering light above showers him in light, then darkness, then back again. His long golden hair gets illuminated as his orange skin gets the first light he has had in awhile. His simple yellow shirt with a phoenix feather, orange pants, and red shoes are bright against the darkness of the alley. "Ok, Gold. Lets see what this place has in store." Gold walks out into the street and looks around amazed at his surroundings. Lights that don't use magic, chariots that are not pulled by ponies. He accidentally steps into the road and is almost hit by a car. "Get out of the road you deadbeat!" The driver drives off once Gold has backed away. He continues to a small park and sits down on the bench. "In a new world, still no place to sleep." Gold lays down on the bench and tries to get some shut eye. A very eccentric and animated man visiting the area walks along the path close to Gold. He senses a great light power coming from him. The man gives a chuckle. "My boy, you need a proper place if you want to be a hero." 4 years later Golden Rise: 2500 Maximillion Pegasus: 4000 Gold smiles. "You may have more life points, dad. But I was always taught to fight to the end. It's my turn, I draw!" Gold drew his new card. "I tribute my Emerald Phoenix and Obsidian Phoenix to bring out the ultimate card you gave me, Gold-Eyes Crimson Dragon." The two phoenixes disappear and a dragon descends. Its crimson scales shine as its fiery wings spread out covering my side of the field. The golden eyes open wide and my dragon unleashes a grand roar across the arena. Gold-Eyes Crimson Dragon Att: Light Level 8 Destroy one monster on your opponents side of the field. This card gains attack equal to the destroyed monsters attack. Attack: 3000 Defense: 2500 "Now I will destroy your Toon Dark Magician and adds its attack to Gold-Eyes." Gold-Eyes realeased a powerful roar and destroyed Toon Dark Magician Attack: 5500 "Gold-Eyes attack him directly." A scorching blast of fire was sent at Pegasus and burned away the rest of his life points. Maximillion Pegasus: 0 Winner Golden Rise Pegasus clapped with a smile as he had been bested by his adoptive son. "Well done Goldy-boy. You did fantastic with those test cards. I believe it is time to give you the final project." Pegasus pulled out a deck bow that was adorned with a phoenix feather. "I present to you the Crimson Phoenix Deck." "Is this the deck I designed?" "Yes it is. With some changes to certain effects to make it fair." "Thank you, dad." Gold takes the new deck. "This is incredible." "You have become a fine duelist, Gold. Now get some sleep, we will be traveling tomorrow." "Where to?" "The place I first found you, Canterlot." Gold nods and heads to his room for the night. He is almost to excited and nervous to sleep, but he eventually falls asleep readying for tomorrow. Gold awakens in a grand hall. Pillars of gold stretch high up to an unseen ceiling. He stand and walks down the hall, no end in site. "What is this place?" As he walks, Gold starts to feel an energy pulling him towards the end of the hall. He goes further until a statue appears at the end. A knight like figure with feathery wings stands tall among the hall. The energy pulls Gold to the bottom of the statue. There is a small inscription: Unlock thy spirit and forge the path of the heroic light. Gold holds his hand out and the hall begins to rumble. Cracks appear along the statue, piercing light filling the area. Fire spreads across the statue's wings. The light fills the area forcing Gold to cover his eyes. Gold opens his eyes and finds himself outside a cave. He looks behind him to see a cityscape in the distance. "Go through the entrance..." Gold looks around with fear, seeing nothing but the rocky terrain. "See the seal..." Gold suddenly feels a sense of calm. Listening to the voice, he goes in to find a huge wall. Circular protrusions appear around the wall with symbols along the outside of each. "Prepare the heroes... Finish the battle..." Gold gets an understanding of what the voice means. "This is my goal. I must be the hero to save this world... my home." Gold wakes up back in his bed, the sun peering through his window. He quickly gets dressed and grabs his stuff. A small sliver of light shines from the deck box but it goes unnoticed. Gold runs through the mansion, needing to tell Pegasus what he saw. The flight to Canterlot is filled with questions in the minds of the two. "I don't want you to go searching for that seal just yet Gold." Pegasus gives a stern look that is not seen very often. "It is too dangerous to do anything right now." "Yes, dad. I also think that it would be too much to search for it. I have no idea what that voice was to begin with." "Well lets forget about that now. We have the new Duel Store that is opening. Its a day that should be faced with a smile." Pegasus places a hand on Gold's shoulder. "Your right." Gold smiles the first time during the flight. "Its a day to celebrate." The flight finally lands and they are escorted to the limo. As they are driven into the city, crowds of duelist and duelist fans surround the sidewalks. They cheer and hold up signs. Cameras follow them everywhere they go and a helicopter even follows the limo. The car pulls up outside a grand store display, gates block off the public as Gold and Pegasus step out to the cheers of the crowd. The two are lead to the front, a ribbon awaits them. Pegasus takes a podium. "People of Canterlot, I am pleased to announce the opening of this brand new Duel Store. This store will be the corner piece for duelist in this city. Please enjoy it to your hearts content. Now for the cutting of the ribbon, my son... Golden Rise!" Gold prepares to cut the ribbon. A deep, guttural laugh rings through the area. A figure stands atop the Duel Store. "This grand ceremony is perfect." Everyone looks up to see a figure with dark draconic wings on his back, covered in a cloak. "My master shall cherish this grand welcome as he appears once more. But I must remove and uninvited guest." The figure dives down, grabs Gold and disappears within shadows. The two reappear by a certain cave entrance. "Now, stay down and die!" The figure slashes at Gold with a scythe. He dodges and stands back up. "Who are you? What's going on here?" "I have come to free my master... and this place will be your grave in return." Gold activates his red duel disk. "Not if I have anything to say about it." "If its a duel you want, its a duel you'll get." Shadows form a duel disk on the cloaked figure. "But this will not be a normal duel. Dimension Rift! Activate!" The area gains a purple and navy hue. "This shall be a Dimension Duel. I suggest using your spirit power wisely, otherwise you will fall too soon. I want to savor this." Golden Rise Life Points: 8000 Spirit: 100 ??? Life Points: 8000 Spirit: 100 The mysterious figure begins. "I will start by Dimension summoning out my Card Guard. Using all my spirit to set its full attack." Card Guard Att: Dark Level 4 If this card or Normal or Special summoned: Place 1 Guard Counter on it. This card gains 300 ATK for each Guard Counter on it. Once per turn: You can target 1 other face-up card you control; remove 1 Guard Counter from this card, and if you do, place 1 Guard Counter on the target. (If that card would be destroyed, remove one Guard Counter from it instead.) Attack:1600 Defense: 500 A monster with a red top and white underbelly appears. Its wide wing like arms stretch out and it singe eye stares Gold down. "I then place two cards face down to end my turn." "I draw!" Gold draws his first card. "I'll start by Dimension summoning out my Amethyst Phoenix." Amethyst Phoenix Att: Light Level 4 If this card is used to Fusion summon a monster, add this cards attack to that monster. Attack: 1000 Defense: 1000 A purple phoenix with an amethyst body appears. Attack: 0 "Why does it have no attack?" "You never declared how much spirit you were using. By default your monster has zero attack." "I should have paid attention to that. I'll set three cards and end my turn." "Are you actually the son of Pegasus." The figure draws his first card. "I will normal summon, Dark Extractor." Dark Extractor Att: Dark Level 4 Once per turn, target a Dark attribute monster either you or your opponent controls. That monster's attack points are reduced to zero. This monster gains attack points equal to the attack points lost. At the end of your turn, all attack points effected by this effect are returned to normal. Attack: 500 Defense: 2000 A robotic being is summoned. One arm features a giant syringe with a huge needle. "Now I will use its effect on my Card Guard." Dark Extractor stabs its needle into Card Guard. Its color is drained and is added to the syringe. Attack: 2100 "Then I activate my trap card Stone Cold." The figure flips up one of his face downs. Stone Cold Trap If you control a monster with 0 ATK, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap cards. Gold's cards are turned to stone. "Now Dark Extractor, destroy that stupid bird of his." Dark Extractor struck down, destroying Amethyst Phoenix. Gold is pushed back by the shockwave. Gold: 5900 "Then I activate Second Wind. This trap allows me attack again if I destroyed your monster." Dark Extractor attacks again. Gold feels like he was really stabbed by the monster but is physically unharmed. He is pushed back further. "I end my turn with a face down." Card Guard: ATK 1600 Dark Extractor: ATK 500 Gold's cards return to normal. He shakily draws his card as fear grips him. "That felt real. Like I was going to die." Gold tries to stop his nerve, but he keeps shaking. "I-I activate Graceful Charity. I draw three cards then discard two." Gold drew his three cards and then discarded two. "I then activate my face down... To Ashes." To Ashes Spell Card If you have more than one "Phoenix" monster in the graveyard, Special summon "Ash" tokens up to the number of "Phoenix" monster in your graveyard. "Since I have two Phoenix monster in my graveyard... I can bring out two A...Ash tokens." Two piles of Ash appear on the field. Gold looks down and gets a boost of courage seeing his ace. "This ends here. I tribute my two Ash tokens to Dimension summon Golden-Eyes Crimson Dragon. Adding my full spirit into this summon." Golden-Eyes descended onto the field. Attack: 3000 "And I will destroy your Card Guard to have Gold-Eyes gain its attack." Gold's dragon releases a powerful roar. "I remove a Guard Token to protect my monster." Card Guard remains safe. "Doesnt matter. I activate my face down Burning Feathers." Burning Feathers Spell Card Target one monster you control you control. Have it gain attack equal to the number of "Phoenix" monsters in the graveyard x1000. Destroy the monster at the end of the turn. Attack: 5000 "Now Gold-Eyes... destroy his Dark Extractor!" Gold-Eyes fires out a stream of flames. "I activate Swords of Concealing Light. This forces you monster into face down defense mode." Crimson Dragon is forced into face down defense position. "No... this cant be." "But it is. And I activate Explosive Destruction. This Trap card makes it so that if a monster is destroyed at the end of the turn, you take damage equally to double its original attack." "Which means..." Gold looks down at his 5900 life points. "I end... my turn." The face down exploded, sending Gold flying into the cave and crashing into the back wall. His life points drop to zero. "I told you this would be your grave. The perfect final life for my master." Dark tendrils of energy begin to surround the unconscious Gold. The figure releases a grand laugh at the scene. Then, a sword of light pierces the figure. A knight with fiery wings strikes down the dark figure. The knight summons a ball of light and pushes back the dark energy. "Not yet. There is still a battle to be won." The golden knight kneels down and places a hand on Gold. "Rest now, you will fight once more when you awaken." In a flash of light, Gold is teleported back to the grand opening. Gasps fills the scene as paramedics rush in, saving what is left of Gold's life. Author's Note This is the beginning of a new version of my original Yugioh story. The sudden kidnapping and following disappearance caused mass panic in the area. But what caused even more panic was the sudden reappearance of a beaten and battered Gold. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Now a week later, he is finally being released. This is Mic Drop, Canterlot News." Gold turns off the TV in the hospital room. Bandages cover his chest, and parts of his arms and legs. Gingerly putting on his normal clothes, he stand preparing to leave the hospital. Outside, people cheer as Gold walks out to the limo nearby. People try to get his attention for autographs but security keeps them back, He finally makes it to the car and is driven off. The driver wears a relived smile at Gold's better state. "Nice to have you again Master Gold. Master Pegasus has purchased a place for you two to temporarily stay while you are in Canterlot. He also asked that he speaks with you once you are safe at home." Gold gives an exhausted nod as they drive to the new home. The place is right outside of town and is a huge home. Gold walks into the grand house, and lays down on the couch in the massive living room. Pegasus walks in wearing a white button down and shorts. "Glad you are home, Goldy-boy. I'm sorry I was unable to visit you but the security believed I may have been attacked next and kept me under house arrest." "It's fine. I have no idea who that even was." "That was one of the Darkness Generals." The fiery knight appears in the living room from a ball of light. Gold jumps up but Pegasus stays calm. "I see you made yourself known Solaris," said Pegasus. "You know about him dad?" Solaris steps forward. "While you were in the hospital, I had time to speak with your adoptive father. Gold... you are a Seal Guardian." "What is a Seal Guardian?" "They are people who have the same special power as me and my fellow warriors had. Long ago, in this very place, a grand battle between good and evil occurred. We fought against the darkness and its army for years and were barely able to push it back. Me and my fellow warriors made the decision to seal the darkness away until we could strengthen our own army. We sacrificed our bodies to create the seat, and our spirits were placed into statues within the monster world. Now the seal is cracking and we must gather the Seal Guardians, unlock my fellow warrior and destroy the ultimate evil once and for all." Gold looked down at the deck box I his hands. "I... refuse." Solaris was surprised. "Why do you refuse?" "I lost to one of those general guys and ended up in the hospital. If you didn't save me, things more than likely would have been way worse. So... I refuse." Gold tosses his deck onto the table. "Find someone else to be the hero you need. I'm not one of them." Gold walked to his room. Solaris stood in front of Gold. "But you are a destined hero." "And this hero was defeated with ease and could have died. I'm not going to go through that again." Gold walks to his room and shuts himself inside. Solaris sighs and disappears. Pegasus knocks on Gold's door. "I'm not agreeing to his deal, dad." "Its not that. I wanted to talk to you about our time in this town." Gold opens the door. "I guess we will be staying here for awhile." "Yes. And I have enrolled you in a new high school for your final year, Canterlot High." "Ok. That seems like a normal place. When do I start there?" "You will start on Monday, so after the weekend." "Ok, thanks dad. Now I just want to get some sleep." "Of coarse, good night Gold." "Night, dad." Gold closes the door once more and prepares to sleep. Monday comes along sooner than expected and Gold awaits his new school life inside the main foyer of Canterlot High. "At least its quite in here. No big crowds swarming me." "We figured you could use a break from the crowds." Gold turns to see the principal of the school, Principal Celestia. "Welcome to our school Gold. I am glad you can join us for your senior year." "Thank you Principal Celestia." Gold gets a familiar feeling from seeing her but cant quite place it. "We will have a student of ours show you around. Sunset Shimmer." A girls with orange skin, yellow and red hair, wearing a red shirt, black jacket and sunset styled skirt come up to us. "She will be showing you around today. Its her own way of paying for something that occurred not so long ago." "Ok... well its nice to meet you Sunset." "Nice to meet you too, Gold. I have heard a few things about you." Sunset seems nervous around Gold. Principal Celestia claps her hands. "I will leave you two to go around the school. I hope you enjoy you time here Gold." Celestia goes off as Sunset takes Gold around to show him the different areas of the school. She shows him all the classroom, library, cafeteria, gym and even the duel fields. "Your probably familiar with duel fields like these." "Yeah... I know a lot about them. I helped build a few duel arenas when those were still being used." "That's pretty cool...you are quite interesting." Sunset blushes. "Thanks Sunset... and you really normal around me. Not like a crazy fan, or stalker, or stalker fan." "Have you dealt with those a lot?" "More than you would think." They both laugh at the absurd nature of Gold's fame. Sunset ends the tor back at the foyer. "Thanks for showing me around, your really good at this." "I try my best." "I should be off to my first class. It was nice meeting you Sunset." "You too, Gold." She waves as Gold leaves, feeling a familiar sense from him that she cant quite get out of her mind. Gold goes through his school day as normal as he can. But he feels stares at him everywhere he goes. Whispers of people talking about the accident, and some just fanning over him due to his fame. He makes it to the end of the day and finds an empty room to sit and relax in. He lays his head back and lets out a deep sigh. Gold reaches into his bag for his homework, when he feels a box in it. He pulls out the deck box he placed on the table back at home. Visions of the previous duel flash through his mind as he starts to shake. "Not again. I won't leave my dad all alone, just to possibly become, or die as, a hero." He gets up, walks towards the entrance and tosses the deck box in the trash. A girl with rainbow hair sees this and grabs the deck box. "Hey buddy, your just going to throw away perfectly good Duel Monster cards." "Keep them if you want, I don't have a use for them anymore." Gold walks out and follows the crowd of students to the nearby Sugar Cube Corner. He walks in and sees people chatting, eating sweets and generally just having a good time. Gold gets himself a milkshake and takes a seat at one of the empty booths. He sits there for awhile, scrolling through his phone, and actually being a normal person for once. Gold smiles to himself at his freedom from the supposed destiny. A girl with pink hair and skin appears right next to Gold out of nowhere. "Hi there!" Gold jumps and almost drops his shake. "Uh, hi." "I'm Pinkie Pie! Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too. I'm Gold-d-d!" Pinkie shakes Gold's hand and causes his whole body to shake. "I know about you. Your famous around here. I'm so glad you are ok. Me and my friends love to watch you duel!" Pinkie lets go of Gold. "Anyway, welcome to Sugar Cube Corner. I hope you enjoyed your time here. Wish I could stay but I need to meet up with my friends. But here..." Pinkie grabs Gold's phone and puts her number into it. "Hope to chat with you later!" She rushes off, causing the phone to spin around before stopping and laying flat. "Interesting girl. Nice but interesting." Gold continues with his day, and starts walking back to his house. He walks past a duel park and sees the rainbow haired girl from earlier dueling against a girl with blonde hair and orange skin. He stops by to watch the duel in progress. He sees the monitor on the duel field display their names, Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Applejack attacks with her Amazoness Archer directly at Rainbow and wins the duel. "Oh, come on. That's the second time." "Just need to know how to use your cards correctly Rainbow." Applejack smiled. "You say that now but I want one more duel. I'm going to try out this new deck I found." Rainbow Dash holds up the deck box Gold threw away. "Lets see who can really win when I show off something new." Dash replaces her deck with the new one, but that was a mistake. A giant clap of thunder rings out as dark smoke fills the duel field. The smoke condenses into the figure of the Darkness General. He looks at Rainbow with a deep sneer. "So, that fool lost his cards and you decided to take them for yourself. Well now this makes it easier." He walks towards Dash. "Once those cards are gone, there will be nothing stopping us." Gold can barely breath. His fear begins to overtake him as the one who almost killed him is now threatening someone who is not involved. He is anchored in place, but something is tugging him to stop this. "I can't... its going to end the same." "No, it won't. You must defeat this general." "There is no way. He is too powerful." "No. You are the powerful one." Gold slowly steps towards the duel field, driven by an unknown force. Darkness General tries to grab Dash, but she jumps back. "Your not going to be doing anything. I don't know what kind of magic show this is but you are going down." She activated the duel disk. "That was your first mistake." The general summons his duel disk. "Let's duel!" The area becomes encased in a purple and blue hue. Rainbow Dash Life Points: 8000 Spirit: 100 Darkness General Life Points: 8000 Spirit: 100 Gold continues to move forward and make his way through the crowd. Rainbow got a confident smile. "I'll start things off. I summon out Phoenix of the Temple in attack mode." Phoenix of the Temple Att: Light Level 3 When this monster is normal summoned, add a "Phoenix" monster from your deck to your hand. Attack: 1200 Defense: 500 A stone phoenix statue appears on the field. "And now I get to add a Phoenix monster to my hand." One card comes out and Rainbow grabs it. "I'll set two cards face down and end my turn." "Draw." The general draws his first card. "I will first summon out Dark Extractor." Dark Extractor Att: Dark Level 4 Once per turn, target a Dark attribute monster either you or your opponent controls. That monster's attack points are reduced to zero. This monster gains attack points equal to the attack points lost. At the end of your turn, all attack points effected by this effect are returned to normal. Attack: 500 Defense: 2000 Dark Extractor appears, causing Gold to stop in his tracks. One of the monsters that almost ended him, now appears like before. But the unknown energy pulls Gold further, moving him through the crowd. "Then I activate Dark Rebellion. This spell card allows me to summon out a Dark attribute monster from my hand, whose level is the same as a monster I control. So I summon out my Dark Effigy." Dark Effigy Att: Dark Level 4 If you Tribute Summon a Dark Normal monster, you can treat this monster as 2 tributes. Attack: 1500 Defense: 0 A dark stone appears on the field, pillars or rock begin going in and out of it at random. "Now I will use Dark Extractor's effect to take the attack from Dark Effigy." Dark Extractor stabs its needle into the rock and draws out its color. Attack: 2000 "Now my Extractor will attack your Phoenix." Dark Extractor attacks and destroys the stone phoenix. Rainbow: 7200 "Then I activate the spell card Duo Attack, allowing my Extractor to attack again." Extractor attacks Rainbow directly. Its needle strikes Rainbow and a look of fear spreads across her face. "This is what you get for trying to be the hero." Rainbow: 5200 Rainbow shakily stands up and readies to draw her card. Gold stops her from drawing, as he finally reached her. "Stop Dash... this is a duel I should have been in. Please, let me properly finish this guy." Rainbow sees the new determination in Gold's eyes. With a simple nod, she hands him the duel disk. "Thank you." Gold faces the general with a new found courage. "I'm going to do what I should have done before, and send you back to the shadows you came from." 'Well little hero... I will enjoy seeing your suffering one last time! I draw!" Gold drew his first card. "I activate Graceful Charity. So now I draw three cards, and discard two." Gold drew his cards and carefully chose the two cards to send to the graveyard. "Then I activate To Ashes. You probably remember this card from our first duel, and with three Phoenix monsters in my graveyard, I can summon three Ash tokens." Three piles of Ash appear on the field. "Now I Dimension Summon, Gold-Eyes Crimson Dragon using two of my Ash Tokens, and adding all my spirit into it!" The two piles of ash swirl into the air as fiery wings spread out. Gold-Eyes bursts from the tornado of ash and lands on the field. Gold-Eyes Crimson Dragon Att: Light Level 8 Destroy one monster on your opponents side of the field. This card gains attack equal to the destroyed monsters attack. Attack: 3000 Defense: 2500 "And I'll use its effect to destroy your Dark Effigy and have it gain its attack." Crimson Dragon lets out a deep roar and shatters the Dark Effigy. Attack: 4500 The general gets a small smirk. A tinge of fear goes through Gold but his spirit quells it. "This is almost where we were during our first duel. But things will play out different! I activate From the Ashes. If I control an Ash Token, I can send it to the graveyard and summon out a Phoenix monster from my graveyard. But its banished when it leaves the field." The pile of ash ignites with a white flame. "Now arise, Diamond Phoenix." The white flames explodes into a phoenix made of diamonds and surrounded in white flames. Diamond Phoenix Att: Light Level 4 If this monster is used for a Synchro Summon, double the monsters attack for two turns. Fairy/Tuner Attack: 500 Defense 1500 "Now, Gold-Eyes, destroy his Dark Extractor! Flaming Destruction!" Gold-Eyes releases a powerful fire blast. Darkness General is pushed back slightly from the shockwave. Darkness General: 4000 "Nice shot but this will make you regret it. I activate Spirit Link. This Trap makes it so if a monster on my field is destroyed i can choose a monster to be destroyed at the end of your turn. So I choose your Gold-Eyes." "Nice try. I activate swap to change your target to Diamond Phoenix." "Why you little!" The general starts to feel angry at Gold's tactics. "I will still do some damage to you. I activate Explosive Destruction, a familiar card. This Trap makes it so that if a monster is destroyed at the end of the turn, you take damage equally to double its original attack." "Too bad for you, my Diamond Phoenix won't be on the field during the end phase. I tune my level 4 Diamond Phoenix with my Level 8 Gold-Eyes Crimson Dragon! I synchro summon..." Diamond Phoenix turned into 4 green rings that surround Gold-Eyes, which turns into 8 orbs of light. "Arise! Crystalized Phoenix Dragon!" A column of light shoots down onto the field. With a mighty slash, he slices through the creature. Light pours from the wound as it grows along the beast. Solaris continue slicing through the beast, more wound appearing and being filled with light. The shadowy beast explodes in a grand ball of light. The Darkness General flies back from the attack. "No! This can't be!" "This is where you are wrong, foul beast. This is the power of the Guardians!" Solaris slices through the general, turning him back into shadows. "Begone!" He stabs into the ground and disrupts the Dimension Duel, turning the area back to normal. Once everything has returned to normal, Solaris disappears an Gold's glowing mark fades. The crowd silent from the intense battle explodes into cheers. Everyone starts to rush towards Gold, but his injuries were even more severe now, he collapses onto the ground. Rainbow Dash and Applejack immediately grab and carry him out of the area and to the hospital. A week has passed and Gold remains in a coma. His new friends, although he doesn't quite know that yet, take turns visiting him to make sure he is ok. Sunset has stayed the longest out of anyone, feeling an unknown connection to Gold. She sits by him one day and just starts talking. "I'm not sure if you can hear me Gold, but I think I should just talk to you." She sighs. "I wasn't the same girl you met before that time. I was mean, hurtful, almost evil. But I was saved by a group of friends. They helped to show me the truth about friendship, but... I'm not sure if I got past what I did. I still need to pay for what I did to everyone." She starts to tear up, but then wipes her eyes and chuckles. "Now I'm talking to a guy that I'm not even sure can understand me. But... I felt something when we met. Like a connection only between the two of us." She lets out another sigh. "I hope you wake up soon, so I can actually talk with you." Sunset is about to leave when she finds a Duel Monster's card on the ground. She picks it up to find it to be a blank monster card. Something just moved behind you!" Mic Drop forces the camera man to turn around but misses whatever he saw. "What was that?" A figure jumps and runs through the streets and alleys. There is a heavy snarl as it moves around. It runs into the forest and looks around the area covered in the full moon light. It releases a powerful howl as the hulking wolf like beast stands in the center of a field. "Where are you?" It snarls. It squints and focus its night-vision to find what is searching for. "I know your here, you beast! You have done enough damage already!" The sound of rattling wood is heard around the forest. "There you are!" The wolf man rushes into the forest and tackles a wooden beast. Its green eyes glow as the wolf man scratches at it. The wolf man tears the wooden wolf apart, destroying it completely. A green mist dissipates from the wood. "That should take care of that for awhile. Enough for tonight." The wolf man slashes the air and forms a blue tear where he slashed. He jumps in and is teleported to a house just outside of town. The wolf man shrinks down and returns to his normal self. Now stands a guy with dark grey skin, blue and grey long hair, a white shirt with a blue moon on it and faux leather pants. He walks up to the house to sleep for school the next day. Sunset looks at the blank card she found. She turns it in her hands as she walks around the school grounds, wondering just what the card was. "Why would this randomly be with Gold? What is the connection?" As she walks, she accidently bumps into a figure with grey skin, wearing a hoodie, dropping the card. "Sorry about that." "Your good, you just seemed distracted." The guy picks up the card and hands it back to Sunset. "You dropped this." "Thanks. I don't think I've seen you before." "I have been in this school for awhile but I enjoy sticking to the background. Once school is finished, Sunset walks around the duel fields looking for anything odd or dangerous. She sees one field where Fluttershy id dueling Snips. Snail is watching from the sidelines with a smirk. Snips calls out his last attack and takes out the last of Fluttershy's life points. "You lose. I will be taking that rare Kuribo of yours." "But you dragged me into this duel. I thought we weren't even putting up cards." Fluttershy begins to shake. "That's what yo thought." Snips and Snails start to corner Fluttershy. Sunset starts to walk towards them to use what little power she still has over Snips and Snails to put a stop to this. But Sirius gets between the two and FLuttershy. "She never agreed on a wager. Now back off." "Oh look at what the cat dragged in." Snips had an arrogant smile. "Yeah... wait, what cat?" Snips facepalmed at Snails' reaction. "If you think your so great, why don't you duel me?" Sirius brought out his duel disk. "Oh yeah. You never dueled around here before, so I bet you got nothing in that deck of yours." "Are you scared?" "Me? Scared? Not at all. Me and Snails will show you not to get in the way of us." Snails activated his duel disk. "Yeah. You got nothing on us." "Fine then. I will take the both of you on." Sirius activates his duel disk, it spreads out into a crescent moon shape. "Let's duel!" Sirius: 16000 Snips+Snails: 16000 Snips starts off the duel. "I will set one monster and one card face down. That ends my turn." "I draw." Snails draws his first card. "I summon out Armored Bee." A bee covered in silver plating appears on the field. Its sharp stinger glints in the sunlight. "Then I will set two cards facedown and end my turn." "I draw." Sirius drew his first card. "I summon out LV4 Canis Minor." LV4 Canis Minor Att: Light Level 4 This card is not destroyed by battle. Every time this card attacks an opponent's monster, add a "Star" Counter to this card. When this card has two "Star" Counters on it, you can tribute this card to summon out a "LV8 Canis Major" from your hand. Attack: 1000 Defense: 1000 A small wolf cub with star covered fur bounds onto the field. It sits down and sticks its tongue out. Fluttershy immediately love the cute monster. "Aw, he's such an adorable puppy." Snips laughs. "That's your big beginning move? A little dog with only a 1000 attack points?" "Its not about the attack of the monster. Its what it can do. Now Canis Minor, attack Snip's facedown." The pup bounds forward and slashes at the facedown. The card flips as and a two headed dragon like beast pops up and gives a powerful roar. Canis Minor gives a scared yelp and runs back to Sirius' side of the field. A star shines brighter on Canis Minor. "My Two-Headed King Rex seems to be too big for your little dog. And your taking 200 damage." Sirius: 15800 Sirius smirks. "Like I said, its about how you use your cards. I activate Double Attack. By discarding a level 5 monster to my graveyard, Canis Minor can attack again. So now Canis Minor attacks Armored Bee!" Canis Minor ran forward and slashed at Armored Bee. The bee deflected the claws and Canis Minor jumped back to the other field. A second start started to shine on Canis Minor. Sirius: 15200 "Why did you attack my monster to?" "So I can activate this, Guiding Star." Guiding Star Spell Card Add a Star Counter to any monster that battled this turn. A star appeared on Armored Bee and Two-Headed King Rex. A third star shone brighter on Canis Minor. "This seems bad." Snails now looked worried. "For you, it is. Because now that there are at least two Star Counters on Canis Minor, I can tribute it to summon out LV8 Canis Major!" And I also activate Double Summon to bring out two." Snips chose two cards from his hand. "So come on out Mighty Dino King Rex and Super Conductor Tyranno!" The ground stated to shake as two huge beast took the field. One was a giant purple and red dinosaur with two heads. two tails and giant wings. It stomped the ground with a mighty roar. The second dinosaur stood even taller, covered in steel armor with purple orbs on it and electricity dancing around it. "And due to Jurassic Power, they get a 300 attack point boost." Mighty Dino King Rex: 3200-> 3500 Super Conductor Tyranno: 3300-> 3600 "Now I can show you real power. I activate the field spell, Lost World." The ground became covered in a rocky terrain. "And now all non-Dinosaur type monster lose 500 ATK and Defense." LV8 Canis Major: 4000-> 3500 "Now your wolf is weak enough for Tyranno to destroy it. Attack his wolf!" Tyranno runs at Canis Major for the attack. "Nice try. I activate Magic Cylinder." Tyranno runs into one cylinder and comes out the other, attacking Snips instead. Canis Major charges once again and swipes at the two as they duck from the attack. Snips and Snails: 3700 "And with nothing more to do, I end my turn." Snips and Snails look terrified at their situation. There own cards set them up to fail this duel. "I think we know what to do Snails." They both tossed down their duel disks. "We forfeit! You win!" The two try to run but Sirius quickly grabs them. "Now fellas, I suggest you return all those cards you 'won' from others." The group is surrounded by duelist who had their cards taken. Snips and Snails empty their pockets and run off. Everyone grabs their cards as they are grateful for Sirius. He grabs the Kuribo on the ground and gives it back to Fluttershy. "I believe this is yours." "Thank you so much Sirius. I didn't think anyone would stand up to those two, given their terrifying dinosaurs and insects." She shakes at the thought. "It was nothing. "This seems so weird and- Whoa!" The card releases a blinding light. When Sirius opens his eyes gain, he is in a grand hallway alone. The floor is made of clouds with the night sky stretching above him. "What is this place?" He walks forward, drawn in by an unknown force. He keeps walking the celestial hallway until he sees a statue. The stone statue depicts a wolf man with armor around its arms and legs and claws marks on its chest. One of its eyes is also clawed away with a scar. Sirius reaches out his hand and the whole hall shakes. The statue begins to crack as blue light spills out. The light soon floods the area and Sirius is forced to close his eyes. When he opens them once more, he is on his back with Sunset and Fluttershy staring at him worried. Fluttershy helps him up. "Are you ok?" "Yeah. I just saw this weird vision when I touched the card." He lifts the card to see that it is blank again. "What?" "This is weird, and that is saying something given what has happened before." Sunset gets a call on her cellphone. "Hello?" A shout comes from the other side. "He's awake Sunset." "What, who Pinkie?" "Gold, he's awake! et back to the hospital quick!" "Ok, on our way." Sunset hangs up. Sunset found something you may want to look at." Sirius nods over to Sunset as she presents the blank card. Gold takes it and it instantly changed to show a phoenix feather. "It just changed? How?" "That's not all." Sirius took the card and the symbol changed to the blue claw marks. "And after i touched this, I had this vision of a hall way." "A hallway? Was there a statue in it?" "There was... How did you know?" "Because I had the same vision. When I reached out towards it, the statue shattered into a bright light." "The same thing happened to me." "Then... you may have unlocked the spirit of a guardian." "Guardian?" "Its a long story, but I made contact with this spirit that said there was an ancient battle. The heroes decided to seal away a great evil and seal their own spirits in statues. Now the darkness is starting to break through... so the guardian spirits are searching for people like us to help destroy the darkness once and for all." "I would say your crazy... but I saw the videos of your duel. It was amazing but also looked terrifying." Rainbow gave a nod. "I only faced that dark general for one turn and I was too terrified to even think. Gold had to step in and finish the duel for me." "It was crazy!" Pinkie popped up next to Sirius. "There was this huge shadowy monster. It swung its scythe down like... CRASH! Then Gold summoned this bright light and this warrior came out, slicing the beast to pieces! It was so terrifying!" Pinkie had a huge smile. "Seems like it." Sirius leans over to Fluttershy to whisper, "Why is she smiling?" "She is just excited, no need to worry." Fluttershy gave a cute smile. "I see. Anyway... what do you think Gold? It sounds like there maybe others like us." "There maybe." Gold swung his feet off the bed and shakily got up. Sirius and Sunset helped him steady out. He gingerly walked over to the hospital desk and grabbed the deck box off of it, staring at the feather on it. "We need to be ready. If there are other guardians, there will be more dark beings looking to stop us." Gold slowly walked back to Sirius. "You need to be the most ready right now Sirius. I was gone after just a few days after I awakened Solaris. You need to be ready to make contact with your guardian spirit and the dangers that may come with it. Will you be prepared?" "To be honest, I have no idea what any of this means. But if my actions can help save those I care about, then I am willing to face this darkness. I will help no matter what." Sirius shakes Gold's hand. As the two make contact, the phoenis feather on Gold's arm starts to glow. Then, a symbol appears on Sirius' arm, the same three blue claw marks from the card. "Seems like there is no going back for us." "There is no backing away for heroes." Gold picked up the blank card. "This can be our compass to find the other holders. If the seal brought two of us here, it will bring the others. We must be ready for the nest steps of our lives..." Gold looks around the room. "All of us." The group all nods with a new found determination. Pinkie remembers something. "Oh yeah. Pegasus left you something for when you woke up." She rummages around her hair and produces a box that should not have fit in there. "How in the..?" Sirius shakes his head. "You know what, I'm not going to question it." Gold opens the box to reveal a golden jacket with red trim. A smile spreads across his face. He slides it on and brushes it off. "Now... its time to rise to the occasion." Gold held the blank card up to the horizon. "There must be a way to find the others." "Let me have a look." Sirius grabbed the other side of the card. It glowed once more. The light started to shift as four new symbols appeared on the card. "Are these?" "The others like us." Gold turned around and the symbols shifted. The Main 5 plus Sunset also left on their own way. Gold and Sirius walk around the town looking at the blank card. Two symbols appear to be close together as they walk around. "Seems like we are getting close to two of them." Gold held up the card more. The two symbols were interesting. One was a brown sword encased by a chain. The other was a shield with a robotic face on it. Gold and Sirius walked up to what looked like an old garage. They walked in to see cars and bikes in half finished condition. Two guys were talking by what looked like a bike covered by a cloth. One guy had rust colored hair with red skin. He wore a brown muscle shirt and tan pants. He also had heavy brown boots. He was chewing a toothpick with a smile. "I'm telling ya Storm. This baby will be ready in no time." The other guy had dark blue skin with black hair. He wore a black shirt with a grey jacket over it, and dark blue pants. He was also in a wheelchair. "I don't know Rusty. The design still seemed to be in the prototype state." The guy called Rusty smirked. "It will be fine. You got ol' Rusty Bolts as your buddy working on it." "That's why I'm worried." The guy called Storm sighed. Gold walked up to the two. "I agreed because you were in, but why did you agree so fast?" "I lied when I said I had no weird dreams. I had one." "What happened?" "I was by this cave outside of town. I heard a voice drawing me in but I was too scared to go in. I've had this feeling ever since, like something is connected to me." "Next I summon out Ojama Red." A red figure with a large head, yellow scarf and red speedo appeared on the field. "And thanks to his effect I can special summon 4 more Ojama monsters. So say hello to Ojama Green, Yellow, Black and Blue." Four more monster like the first appear on the field. "And now I activate Polymerization. This allows me to fuse two of my Ojamas to create... Ojama Knight!" Ojama Blue and Red were fused with each other into a portal. Out of the portal came a figure clad in armor with two yellow eye stalks coming from the top of the helmet. "And thanks to its effect, you can no longer use two of your monster zones." Two of Rusty's monster zones were covered by red Xs. "And next, I will activate the other Polymerization I have. This will fuse my three remaining Ojamas to create the being of your doom... Ojama King!" Just like before, the three Ojamas fused with one another into a portal. A figure of a giant head hopped out of the portal. It had two grey eye stalks, a huge mouth and noze, a red speedo, and a cape. "And his effect activates. Now your three other monster zones are useless." Three more Xs covered the other monster zones. "You have no monster zones to use. Nothing can stop this lock out. On my next turn, you will be finished." Rusty looked over his field. "He locked out all of my monster zones. This is his strategy. Stop his opponent from using monsters and just wait them out until he gets Ojama Country." Rusty tensed up. "This is an almost impossible challenge, and I have to face it." Rarity came around the corner and saw Sweetie Belle. "Sweetie Belle, there you are. I was so worried." She hugged her sister. "What happened?" "Blueblood corned me for my cards but Rusty here stood up to him." Sweetie looked worried at the field. "But now he is in this duel against the worse set up possible." Rarity looked between the two. "He is standing up to Blueblood? This is an almost guaranteed loss." Blueblood laughed. "It's over for you Rusty. Draw you card and end your turn because this is over for you!"
