The Mane Six go to Horselulu Beach
Horselulu—an island resting in the North Luna Ocean, its vibrant greenery contrasting naturally against the silhouetted outline of Las Pegasus and Undiscovered West mountains far in the distance. Thickets of palm trees and bushes collaged the shoreline’s background, with a narrow, light dirt path fighting to assert its presence. Waves of heat simmered the space and scorched the compressing sand beneath their hooves, a weak fire coursing through with each step. Well, most of their hooves.
“Ha! Sucks to suck, amiright guys?” Rainbow Dash teased the five other mares. Instead of walking on the heated ground herself, she opted to fly. “Come on, it can’t be that bad!”
“Dash, darling,” Rarity took on a challenging tone and stomped. “I’d loovvve to see you come down here and say that to my FACE!” She was sweating the most, and wearing a black beach hat and a light blue sarong did nothing to help her case.
Liquid also traversed down a heaving purple muzzle. “Moreover, you always travel by air.”
“Pfft, whatever! Look at you and Fluttershy!”
“Well, actually I—”
Rainbow Dash flew in front of the other pegasus. “You both have wings, yet you’re not using them? Don’t blame me for your lack of brains. And what’s your excuse for Applejack?”
With labored breaths, wet drips fell from a cotton candy pink coat. Nevertheless, that did not hinder her from talking with great enthusiasm. “Applejack, tell me your secret!” Pinkie Pie tackled the sand and hugged orange forelegs.
“Doggone it, Pinkie! It’s too hot fer ahuggin’. ‘Sides, ah’m used t’ workin’ up a good sweat back n’ Sweet Apple Acres. Even on hot days.” Applejack tried to undo the pinkie cuffs. They did not budge an inch. “Pinkie!”
Upon hearing that, Rainbow Dash could not resist rebutting with a smug curled lip. “See, no excuses Twilight.”
With everypony one hundred percent having their say, they made their way to the beach and found a peaceful spot to settle down. But something was amiss... Their belongings.
Rarity was the most prepared to lie down, relax, and show off their elegant coat to the world. To think she had to lie down on the persistent grains of sand at this moment? She thought not. “Why, wherever can my spikeywikey be with my chic beach towels?!”
Luckily for Rarity, somepony had the answer. “Oh, actually, Rarity, Spike—” No, not her.
“Look, there he is!” Applejack answered, gesturing a hoof toward the palm tree forest path they had trekked.
Near the head of that narrow path, two small scaly feet stood between dirt and sand. Instead of his face, it was just a protruding green scale staring at them. After a brief period, he crumbled under the heaviness he bore on his back. “Mmm…”
“Spike!” Twilight yelled and galloped over. “This isn’t the place to be lying around; the beach is over here.” A light purple horn glowed a violet hue, and the large bag burdened on the dragon was lifted.
As Twilight rejoined her friends, Fluttershy flew over to check up on Spike. Knowing he was doing his best, she gently comforted Spike by petting his head.
“Hsptl…” Spike groaned. He was placed onto Fluttershy’s back and bobbed up and down as she trotted back to the beach. “Hospital…”
With all their belongings and everypony accounted for, Twilight took the initiative. “Okay, girls, let’s enjoy every moment of this brief vacation in Horselulu.” She carefully set the bag down and distributed each item to its respective owner.
“Oh, thank the stars I won’t have to soil my coat with this icky sand.”
“Soil? Ah don’t think it’d be that bad.”
“Yeah, just look at this!” Pinkie Pie had a hold of her belongings, and when she received them, she galloped to the rushing shore and returned. Amid Applejack and Rarity’s conversation, she smiled as she brandished a water gun and unleashed a blast of ocean water onto a cutie mark with three jewels.
The wearer was in disarray because that cutie mark hid behind a fanatique sarong. “Wha—! Did you—Haha—Why… How dare you?!”
Pinkie Pie did not stop there. She hauntingly stood on her hind legs and sprinted toward Rarity. “Here I come, Raritttyyy!!”
“Pinkie Pie, no!! Don’t you know how filthy that water is?!” Rarity galloped down the shore away from the shooter and cried. “My mane! My coat! This is the WORST! POSSIBLE! THING!”
“Hahaha!” Applejack laughed at the onslaught. “You get er good for me, Pinkie, ya’ hear?!”
Watching Pinkie Pie have fun, Rainbow Dash felt like she was missing out. “Aw, no fair!”
From the sandy distance, Pinkie Pie yelled back, “I brought an extra!”
With a mischievous grin, Rainbow Dash skimmed through the large bag’s contents and found the desired item. In no time flat, she flew to the ocean, filled it up, and directed the barrel at an unsuspecting alicorn. “Hey, Twilight!”
Under the shade of an umbrella, Twilight had begun setting out her beach towel. When she heard her name, naturally, she turned around. Then… “What is it—?”
Squirt!
Salty liquid ran down her mane and muzzle, causing Twilight’s expression to flatline.
In contrast to Pinkie’s weapon, a lackluster surge disappointingly escaped the water gun. “Aw, lame!” Rainbow Dash was saddened, though not for long. Pathetic squirts continued anyway. “Hahaaa!”
No difference was visible on Twilight’s face since the initial squirt. Then, a light bulb lit up above her head. “Jokes on you. This provides relief from the hot weather.”
“You’re right, that’s no fun…” Rainbow Dash stopped pulling the trigger. “But you’re just saying that to get me to stop!”
Squirt! Squirt! Squirt!
To shield herself, Twilight opted to create a bubble. There was no longer any point in shooting, so Rainbow Dash banged the barrier with the water gun and mocked every action Twilight did.
Applejack had pulled a dessert cart from the bag, which held apple pies, apple fritters, cupcakes, and more. She set it up where Rarity would have settled and sat next to Spike and Fluttershy. “Hey, sugar cubes, any of y’all want somethin’ t’ eat?”
“Um…”
Spike stretched and struggled to crack his back into place. “Ow! ...What the—Applejack!”
“What?”
“Why—How… Oh, forget it.” Spike took an apple fritter and indulged in the donuts’ occasional juicy burst of apple cubes. After carrying everypony’s belongings, he needed rest the most. He brushed aside the bizarre scene and chose to sit back and enjoy the ocean view.
“How ‘bout you, Fluttershy?”
Finally, the moment she had been waiting for had arrived. With everypony else preoccupied, there was no chance of her being suddenly interrupted again. Applejack had given Fluttershy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and she was determined not to waste it. A squealing smile accompanied hopeful eyes, and once her taste buds decided, she opened her mouth for a loosening reply.
“I—” Except, Rarity and Pinkie Pie had come galloping over, turning Fluttershy into a...
Idk, a Flutterbye.
