Duel Monsters, a new card game has rapidly become popular despite its recent release, and many ponies around Equestria have begun dueling in the spirit of competition as well as fun.

The game inventor, at the request of a certain alicorn prince, has announced the first ever Duel Monsters tournament to be held in Ponyville: The Clash of the Cards, the winner of which will be dubbed the King of Cards.
