Daniel Book 3- Life in Ponyville

"Ditzy! Wait!" Daniel called. "Please, don't run away." Daniel's voice faded away, until Ditzy couldn't hear it any more. Ditzy kept running deeper into the maze, until she ran straight into Celestia.

"Diane? What are you running from? And why are you crying, did Daniel do this to you? Faust Damn it, I'll kill that stupid bastard!" Celestia said, her confusion instantly turning to rage.

"No, wait, it's my fault." Ditzy called out, before Celestia could kill Daniel. Celestia instantly regained her normal composure, and sat down by Ditzy.

"Diane, what happened?" Celestia said caringly. Ditzy let her tears stream down her face.

"You know how I asked if I could use the maze for something important?" Ditzy said, Celestia nodded.

"Yes, I remember, it should be already set up." Celestia said.

"Well, I used it already, and, and I proposed to Daniel." Ditzy said, more tears coming out of her eyes.

"He said no." Celestia said, pulling Ditzy into a hug.

"You know, I should have guessed he would, I mean really, I'm just a screw up, all because of my eye, the stupid thing can't go straight for longer than three seconds." Ditzy said. "I remember that fateful day it started, the day that Nightmare Moon was sent to the moon. That was when my eye got hurt.

"Ditzy! Oh, Faust Damn It!" Daniel yelled, and then sat on the nearby bench. About two seconds later, a very angry mane six belted around the corner. Rarity tackled Daniel off the bench, and started to hit him on the face.

"You. No. Good. Stuck. Up. Prick!" She said each word with each hit, Daniel simply kicked her off of himself.

"What did I do?" Daniel yelled.

"I'll tell you what you did, you ruined her! This proposal was all she would talk about for a while now, and you turned her down!" Rainbow yelled, charging head first at Daniel, who wasn't able to move aside quickly enough. Rainbow Dash then started punding on Daniel twice as hard as Rarity ever could. Daniel kicked her off as well.

"Okay, does anypony else feel like beating me up?" Daniel said, spitting blood on the ground, and getting into a stance to fight.

"I'll take that challenge, you stupid prick." Applejack growled, and then jumped at Daniel. Daniel was able to sidestep this time.

"Alright, if you're all done, could you help me find Ditzy?" Daniel asked.

"Look Diane, it's not the end of the world, I guess he just wasn't right for you." Celestia said, trying her best to comfort her.

"I know, and I shouldn't have pushed him, if there is anypony who should be worried it's him, I can only imagine the beating he's going to take." Ditzy said, giggling slightly. Celestia smiled slightly herself.

"Yeah, knowing the barers of the Elements, he is probably getting one hell of a time right now." Celestia said.

"Not as much as you would think ma'am." Daniel said, and took a step forward.

"You know, it is the law for all subjects to bow to me." Celestia said.

"I am nopony's subject, sorry, but i fall under my own jourisdiction, and besides, I don't bow." Daniel said. Celestia nodded with understanding.

"Very well, but do not treat me with such familiarity in front of anypony other than the alicorns and twilight Sparkle." Celestia said, and Daniel shrugged.

"Alright, deal." Daniel said, "But it's not you I'm here for, Ditzy, why did you run off?" Daniel asked, turning to the mare who was currently hugging the princess. Ditzy turned her head, and Daniel saw that she had been crying.

"Be-because you rejected my proposal." Ditzy said.

"Ditzy I--" Daniel was cut off by Ditzy.

"It's okay Daniel I understand, I realize it was sudden, and you probably aren't ready for that kind of commitment."

"Ditzy--"

"Really Daniel, I'm fine, I should have known better anyways, I mean what kind of stallion, especially one as great as you, would want to spend the rest their life with me, I'm just a screw up." Ditzy concluded.

"Ditzy I--" Daniel was cut off a third time, only this time by Celestia.

"She said you didn't have to apologize, so except the offer graciously." She said dangerously, Daniel just rolled his eyes.

"I wasn't planning to, I just have one question, when did I say no, I was just shocked, back where I come from, it's always the guy who proposes, I guess it's opposite around here, and again, when did I say no?" Daniel asked. They both gave him a confused look.

"What do you mean just the guys? That's kind of sexist, around here, either side will." Celestia said, Daniel filed that under, pony social norms, in his brain.

"Duely noted, Ditzy, are you okay?" Daniel asked, once again.

"I'm fine." She said, a few more tears falling from her eyes, "I'm sorry I put you through that." Daniel started laughing. "You don't have to laugh at me though." Ditzy said, looking away with her good eye.

"I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at how you aren't listening, I didn't say no, Ditzy, I'm going to say it without being subtle, since you haven't caught the hint, I say yes, Ditzy, I never said no, I was just confused, you already told me about the trade of feathers with pegasi, but I just always thought the male was the one who proposed. Biased human thought, sorry. Oh, and hold on one moment." Daniel grew out his own wings, and plucked his largest main flight feather, knowing that niether of them will be able to fly for a while, and handed it to Ditzy, who took it with her magic, and put it in her mane, and Daniel did the same with the feather Ditzy gave him, sticking it in his hair right behind his ear. Ditzy's smile grew, and then she tackled him, giving him a kiss.

"I'm sorry for not listening."

"And I'm sorry for causing you worry." Daniel replied, Celestia flew off to her place at Canterlot tower, overseeing the world of Equestria.

"Just do me a favor."

"Anything."

"Don't scare me like that again." Ditzy said, rolling to the side, and onto the grass.

"I will try my hardest. You have my word." Daniel said, then turned and hugged Ditzy.
