Chapter 18- Show and Tell

Previous Chapter

"Alright class, I would like to start this third Monday of this month as normal, with show and tell," Cherilee said cheerfully. Daniel raised an eyebrow. Cherilee sagged slightly as Diamond Tiara's hoof shot up, "Yes, you can go first," She said, slightly less cheerful. Diamond nodded and got out of her chair and stood in front of the class, she then pointed to her tiara.

"I'm here to tell about my tiara, it's worth over over 1000 bits, according to my father, and it's better than anything any of you could ever show, because it's made with real diamonds!" She said snootily. Most of the class rolled their eyes, but Daniel began to laugh. "And what is so funny?" Diamond said, turning to Daniel.

"Well, it's just that, why should we care if you have a hat? personally, all it's good for is making a pony look good, and you're flashing it around like it's the greatest thing in the world and bragging about it, I think show and tell is supposed to be a fun time for the whole class, because they get to share their cool items and show what they can do. Not to brag about them," Daniel said, sitting back in his desk. Diamond opened her mouth for a comeback, but then stopped.

"You know what, I guess you're right," she said, and sat down at her desk, and everypony looked at Daniel, bewildered.

"Uh, how'd you do that?" Scootaloo asked.

"Do what?" Daniel whispered back.

"Get her to not argue back," was the reply. Daniel just shrugged. Cherilee just shook it off, and asked who wanted to go next.

"I vote Daniel should go, since he thinks that whatever he has is so much better than my tiara," Diamond snickered, along with silver spoon. Cherilee nodded.

"Alright Daniel, come on up," Cherilee said. Daniel shrugged again, and got up. He stood in front of the class, and began to pat himself down, searching for something useful that he could show, after a few seconds, he shrugged for the third time and and began to speak.

"I have something unlike any other show and tell item you have ever seen. I have, myself," Daniel said, and alot of the ponies gave him questioning looks. Diamond Tiara spoke next.

"Ha! What a lame show and tell, at least we were able to bring things that could do something cool, or at least look beautiful in my case."

"I was hoping you would say that," Daniel turned towards the teacher, "Ma'am, may I bring this outside?" Daniel asked. Cherilee nodded.

"I guess so, sure," and with that, they all walked outside with Daniel.

"I would like you all to step back please," Daniel said. The foals and Cherilee did so, and Daniel grew his wings out. "As you can see, I can do that, how many ponies do you know that can do that too?"

"Oh, big deal, we see pegasi every day," Diamond Tiara said. Daniel nodded.

"Alright, how about this? Daniel grew out his horn.

"Big whoop, we see unicorns all the time," was Diamond's reply. Daniel laughed, and nodded. And finished the change, going full alicorn.

"How about this? Do you know anypony that can do this?" Daniel said, his voice now deeper, as he towered over the ponies even more than usual. Diamond's jaw dropped. And Cherilee did a quick glance down his body that Daniel pretended not to catch, even as his cheeks grew a little red. He shrank back down to his preferred form, and nodded. "That's my show and tell project.

Everybody was already gone from the class, save for two, Diamond and Daniel. Daniel began towards the door, but Diamond stood in front of him. Daniel nodded. "Hey."

"I just wanted to thank you for what you did the other day, with the whole manticore incident. So, thanks, I guess." And with that, she was out the door, Daniel shrugged, and left himself, only to be stopped by Cherilee.

"Oh, hello Ma'am." Daniel said. Cherilee chuckled, then blushed.

"Hello Daniel, I'm gonna not try to beat around the bush here, so I was wondering if you were doing anything Friday night," Cherilee said. Daniel thought a moment.

"No, not really, why?"

"Well, I was wondering if you would like to come over to my place for dinner, if it's alright with you and Ditzy." Daniel's head whipped to look into her eyes.

"Uh, I, I'll, I'll ask her about it, uh I guess, well got to go bye." and in the next second there was nothing left in that spot save for a dust cloud in his shape.
