“I am a llama eating a banana! Yum, yum, yum, yum!”
“Did she say she’s a llama?”
“Hey, Twi, I couldn’t find my…What are you watching?”
“Sunset! I–”
“Is that the kid’s show that everyone’s been talking about?”
“N-No, it’s…uhh.”
“You might as well tell her now.”
“...*Sigh* Yes. I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. After seeing a few episodes, I thought, ‘It’s a colorful and adorable show about teaching kids imagination and communicating through playing. I can see how an older audience could appreciate that,’ and one episode after another, I was hooked. I don’t know how, but it kept getting better and better, Sunset! Timber, Spike, and I watched the entirety of Seasons 1 and 2, and we’re rewatching the rest of the show until Season 3 premieres!”
“Heh. It’s been our new hyper-fixation for the past few weeks.”
“So, let me get this straight. You guys decided to watch this show, whose target audience is preschoolers, and you’re actually hooked on it?”
“I know, right?! I know its demographic seems off-putting for some people, but it appeals to an older audience! How cool is that?!”
“You should check it out! I think you’d appreciate the lessons there.”
“Um, thanks, but I’ll pass.”
“Oh, come on! It’s a good show!”
“Spike, if Sunset doesn’t want to watch it, that’s fine by her. We shouldn’t pressure her into something she doesn’t want to be a part of.”
“Ugh, fine. Her loss.”
“Indeed it is.”
“Wha- Hey! You said–”
“Just because I won’t pressure you doesn't mean I have to like your decision.”
“Okay, fair enough. Enjoy your binging while I look for my phone and head out.”
“Oh, we will.”
“You’re going to miss out!”
“I’ll take my chances!”
“I don’t want a valuable life lesson! I just want an ice cream!”
“Pfft. That’s a mood.”
“Oh, that’s a new one for ya.”
“What? It’s true.”
“Okay, I made it. Let’s get ready for…huh.”
“Howdy, Sunset.”
“Hello, Sunset, darling! Would you like to join us?”
“I thought we were doing the apple harvest.”
“We are, but Apple Bloom wanted to catch a few episodes before everyone arrived.”
“Wait, Apple Bloom is into this?”
“Yeah, Ah caught AB watching the show every day after school. At first, Ah thought nothing of it, but then Ah decided to sit with her. A few episodes later, Ah eventually got into it.”
“Later, I saw what was happening and joined the fun.”
“Shhh! Ah’m trying to watch something!”
“Oh! So sorry, darling. But Sunset, you haven’t answered my question. Would you like to sit and watch with us?”
“Um, I’m good, thanks.”
“Alrighty then. Suit yer-self.”
“Aw, I’d been hoping you’d consider watching an episode with us. It’s quite an adorable show.”
“A-again, I’m good. I’ll just get something to drink.”
“SHHH! No talking when watching a new episode!”
“Okay, okay, we get it! Cold water is in the fridge, Sunset”.
“Thanks.”
“This episode of Bluey is called Bad Mood.”
“Hmm.”
“Me tidy room now!”
“What?”
“Yarp yarp yarp, yaaarp!
“Are you kidding me?!”
“Wha–Huh? What happened?!”
“S-Sorry. That came out of nowhere.”
“Oh, you don’t like this show? I can change it if you want.”
*Click*
“No, it’s not that. It’s that I’ve seen this show everywhere. And nearly everyone I know has seen this show.”
“And you think that’s bad?”
“No, not at all. I just find it weird that a lot of people like it. I mean, isn’t it a preschool show?”
“It’s technically for 5-7-year-olds, but I see your point. Looks can be deceiving, though.”
“That’s kind of along the lines of what Twilight said.”
“Well, she’s right. You’ll never truly know something until you get deeper.”
“Okay, since when were you this wise?”
“When someone badmouths one of my favorite shows, I give them the straight facts.”
“Oh, haha. Now come on, we’re going to be late.”
“Don’t worry, I have one last thing to do.”
“It better be! We know how Pinkie is when we’re late to her parties!”
“Don’t remind me!”
“No. No. No. Huh, maybe. No. No. Hell, no. No. Ugh, nothing to watch around here. Just some unnecessary remakes, and subpar shows, and I've already seen most of their original movies. Huh? ‘Recently Added.’”
“I know its demographic seems off-putting for some people, but it appeals to an older audience! How cool is that?!”
“A few episodes in, Ah got into it.”
“It’s quite an adorable show.”
“Looks can be deceiving.”
“You’re going to miss out!”
“*Sigh* Okay, let’s do this. This better be good.”
*Click*
“You always never take turns with me. You just take all of the turns. And it makes me feel sad.”
“Aww. *Ahem* Okay, a genuinely sweet moment in a preschooler’s cartoon. Didn’t expect that.”
“Now, Bingo!”
“Blub-blub-blub!”
“Ooh, poor Dad! Haha. Wow, he’s committed.”
“Here, Bingo. You can unfreeze him.”
“Thanks, Bluey…Not just yet. I like the Daddy water fountain.”
“Pfft. Okay, I think I could get into this. Maybe a few more episodes.”
*Click*
“How’s that, kiddo?”
“Good. But I need to do a wee. I’m busting.”
“Oh, man! Okay, umm…”
“I’m a walrus!”
“Excuse me–Bluey, don’t even think about it! Where’s the nearest toilet? Oh, it’s too far! Bingo, can you hold on till we get home?”
“I’m busting!”
“Okay, okay. It’s a bush wee.”
“Is this how my parents felt when raising Sunburst and me? Wow, for once, I feel bad for them.”
“Aaah! I can’t turn it off!”
“Bluey!”
“I only meant to turn it on a little bit!”
“Okay, how did this show capture parts of my childhood? Did the writers somehow know me in Equestria? Heh.”
…
“They’re biscuits.”
“With a little paper inside.”
“And writing on the paper. What does it say?”
“It says, ‘Flowers may bloom again, but a person never has a chance to be young again.’”
“What does that mean?”
“...It means…it’s shower time!”
“For real life?”
“For real life.”
“Aww. Okay, maybe not then. *Yawn* I think that’s enough for today. Wait…Have I been watching this for two hours? Meh, I think it’s worth it.”
“Where were you on that one?”
“‘Where were you on that one?’”
“Rahh! Stop copying me!”
“Hey, Dad, stop. It’s a bird! But it’s on the ground.”
“Wait, are they–?”
“Is it okay?”
“Hmm…no, it looks hurt.”
“Oh my God, they are. How will they do this?”
...
“Will the budgie be okay?”
“I don’t know. It looked pretty knocked around.”
“...I hope he is.”
..
“I’m sorry. It’s bad news, I’m afraid. The little budgie died.”
“...Oh. Okay.”
“*Sniff* Didn’t think it would get there. Man.”
“I don’t want the budgie to have died.”
“I know. Me neither. But there’s nothing we can do. It’s out of our hands.”
…
“This isn’t how you wanted the game to go, isn’t it?”
“No. That’s okay. There’s nothing we can do. It’s out of our hands.”
“*Sniff* Heh, smart kid.”
“Jean Luc!”
“Bonjour!”
“Aww. He seems like a sweet kid.”
…
“Bye, Jean Luc. See you tomorrow.”
“Non, pas demain matin.”
“What? Noo.”
“Au revoir, Bluey.”
“No, no, no. She can’t understand you.”
...
“Mum, do you know where Jean Luc is?”
“Oh, yes. I saw them packing up.”
“What?”
“They must have left early this morning.”
“*Sniff* I’m sorry, Bluey.”
…
“Well, look. Sometimes, special people come into our lives, stay a bit, and then they have to go.”
“But that’s sad.”
“It is. But the bit where they were here was happy, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah. We caught a wild pig together.”
“Maybe that makes it all worth it.”
“Will I ever see him again?”
“Well, you never know. The world’s a magical place.”
“*Sniff* Stupid show. Dumb wholesomeness.”
…
“Wait, she looks…older?”
“I know it’s yours, Muffin. I’m just borrowing it.”
“Hello, Bluey.”
*Beep, beep, beep, beep*
*Ring, ring, ring*
“Hey, Wallflower. *Sniff* Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just wanted to call you. We haven’t talked in a while.”
“So you finally bit the bullet?”
“*Exhale* Yep, I watched the entirety of Season 1, and I like it.”
“Told you.”
“Well, you guys are persistent with the things you like.”
“Oh, and if you think the episodes are good, you haven’t even begun on Season 2.”
“Wait, what? What happens in Season 2?”
“*Sip*”
“*Sip*”
“What happens in Season 2?!”
Author's Note
Wow, I'm kind of on a roll. It doesn't help that these two are my special interests. I thought of doing this idea for a while, then I thought, "Why not do this for this cool contest?" And if you're confused at the ending, Rarity's along with Twilight, because apparently, FIM Fiction doesn't allow certain spaces to be there, so I couldn't distinguish the characters from each other. As for the third conversation happening, that would be one of my OCs, Paxton! You'll see him more in later stories. Alright, have a good one!
