Chris was walking home from a long day of work this evening, an evening that seemed no different from any other. Her saddlebags stuffed with groceries, and a light vest blocked the evening chill, and she felt the little bundle strapped under her twist in their sleep. She wondered if dinner was already made or if she would make a late dinner for everyone tonight. She was so distracted in her thoughts she almost ignored a tickling sensation in her horn, a sensation of something being off.
It wasn’t until Chris realized she had passed the same blue car that was parked on the street 3 times that she knew she had stepped into something that could potentially be something terrible. Scanning her surroundings everything now seemed to be a little off, the flowers around the nearby homes didn’t move to any breeze in fact, she could swear that they were dancing. The clouds in the sky were not colored to match the sunset the reds, oranges, and purples were replaced with blue, green, and oddly brown almost like chocolate.
Something about all of this seemed to match up to something similar she had heard about at some point but she couldn’t place what it was. She activated her magic sight and scanned her surroundings however, it did her little good. All Chris could tell was that the magic around her was stronger, wild, and aggravated, She would even say the environment around her had gone crazy.
Chris started pressing onward down the street and the further she went the crazier things became. Vehicles looked like they were melting and stretching, and homes were reshaped to have a sinister cartoon haunted house look. “Yes, this is completely normal.” Chris commented sarcastically as she continued down the street.
After several minutes of traveling down the street, it led into a culdesac that Chris knew did not exist, She found herself looking at a house, a very normal-looking house. Chris looked side to side at the crazy world around her and sighed. “If this isn’t an invitation I don’t know what is.” She stepped up to the door and pushed the doorbell, the sound of ‘meep meep’ echoed cursing her to smirk with nostalgia. After a few moments the door opened up by itself, Chris stepped inside with the door shutting behind her as she wiped her shoes on the entry rug.
Chris looked around the house which looked cozy. In the living room sat a large leather chair facing a lit fireplace. She approached the chair and sat down before speaking. “Hello.”
There was the sound of fingers snapping before the chair slowly spun around to reveal an odd creature that seemed to be a mixup of various creatures, it wore a robe and was blowing bubbles from a pipe. It smiled and moved its entire body in a similar manner to that of a snake. “Why hello there, allow me to introduce myself. I am Discord, lord of chaos.” He Eyed Chris closing and his smile shrank a little. “Hmm, did I get the wrong pony? I thought I felt something familiar. Maybe I grabbed the wrong pony?”
Chris waved and gave Discord a slight smile. “Hello Discord, I am Christopher..”
Discord stopped scratching his chin and his eye zoomed in on Chris. “Really now? Didn’t think much info would be shared about me.” he froze as if he finally noticed something off about Chris. “Youre not scared of me? I frighten most ponies... My, this is interesting.”
Chris shrugged. “I know some equestrians who have told me things. And truthfully I have had weirder and crazier things happen in my dreams than this. Besides you don’t seem like a bad guy.”
Discord stroked his beard and smiled. “Well, I’m sorry to have ripped you away from your uh normal life, I thought I might run into somepony familiar but oh well. Here let me send you back.” he raised a paw and was about to snap his fingers when he heard a burbling sound coming from Chris’s stomach area. He leaned down to look closer at the bundle under Chris and the head of a pink floral popped out and gurgled at Discord. He stopped and stared into the foal’s eyes for several minutes creeping Chris out.
“Is something wrong with my daughter Discord?” Chris asked worriedly causing discord to snap back.’’
“Huh? What? Oh, no, everything is fine.” He gave Chris a creepy smile before slithering into the leather chair. “Say, could you not tell anyone about our meeting?”
Chris shrugged with hesitation. “Not sure why but alright.”
Discord chuckled and eyed Chris warily. “Let's consider this me owing you a small favor someday.”
Discord snapped his fingers before Chris could speak, she immediately found herself standing out in the street in front of her house. “Well, uh… that happened.”
Before Chris could take a step forward she heard a voice in her head. “You interest me Chris, may we meet again someday.”
Chris gulped as she finally stepped towards her home.
