“Where am I?”
“Where do you think? Don’t you recognize the ponies around you? The softness hugging your hooves.”
“I’m on a cloud. Is this Cloudsdale? I can’t see anything.”
“Oh right. I forgot you ponies need to see to know what’s around you. How’s this?”
“I’ve never everypony so happy. I’ve never seen my parents this happy without me. It’s like-”
“It’s awesome, right? A true pegasus utopia. I recommend trying the donuts sometime. I know it’s not exactly traditional pegasus cuisine, but you’re not going to get it anywhere else.”
“Sure, but I know it’s all fake. I’m still going to kick your butt!”
“Why would you ever want to do that?”
“You hurt my friends, stole the elements of harmony, and took my wings!”
“And now you have them. I haven’t hurt your friends either. They’re not in pain without their wings and horns. You see, Rainbow Dash, I’m not a bad guy. I simply do what I have to so I can reach my goals. Surely you can respect that. I’m sure you’ve broken a window or two. Maybe even some body parts.”
“What about messing with all of the weather? I know you're gonna hurt somepony eventually.”
“You are much too cynical. Isn’t the weather more fun now with a bit of chaos? Nopony will be hurt by having some fun every once in a while. What about your friend Pinkie Pie? She loves the chocolate rain. I’m more partial to cotton candy clouds, but put them together and it tastes like nothing else.”
“But she’s Pinkie Pie.”
“Oh my, Rainbow Dash. I never expected you to be so rude, brushing off Pinkie’s feelings so callously. And you call yourself a friend. ”
“It’s not like that.”
“It seems that way. Think about it. Maybe Cloudsdale isn’t this ideal right now, but if I’m able to add a bit of chaos, the city may thrive as it has always meant to. Go ahead, explore.”
“Hi Rainbow Dash!”
“Hey Rainbow!”
“Where did all of these buildings come from?”
“I asked the construction crew the same thing and they told me that they suddenly became inspired. They knew exactly what Cloudsdale needed.”
“And some unicorn figured out how to make an extended cloudwalking spell for earth ponies and unicorns to get up here. Experts thought that wouldn’t happen for decades!”
“I can’t believe this.”
“Why not?”
“I know this is all because of Discord.”
“Things might seem a bit chaotic now, but I’m sure everything will calm down soon.”
“How true. Thank you random citizen of Cloudsdale. Aren’t things wonderful Rainbow Dash?”
“No! It’s all a lie. Let me tell you something Discord. I don’t care how many ponies you throw at me cheering out my name or giving me Wonderbolt tickets. I know what’s real and what I need to do. Right now, I need to find the girls and crush you!”
“You ponies are so stubborn. Everything has to be stuck in a binary. Why do I have to be the bad guy?
“Take a look at this and see if you change your mind.”
“The Wonderbolts’ camp? I already know I’m going to get in.”
“Take a look inside. Look at how magnificent your locker is. You even have a hidden spot for any ‘secret’ pictures you might want to hide.”
“That’s none of your business!”
“I could make it a reality if you stand down.”
“No! It’s not real. Nothing you try to tell me or show me will make me believe that you don’t deserve to get turned back into the stone you came from.”
“Fine. I guess if you don’t want my help, I suppose I’ll have to leave Cloudsdale to its fate.”
“What are you doing? What’s happening to Cloudsdale?”
“I’m not doing anything. Just as chaos can help, order can hurt. Sometimes accidents happen. Structures collapse. Clouds dissipate. Cities fall. It’s only natural.”
“Help us.”
“Pegasi are strong warriors. We’re not going to let Cloudsdale down without a fight. Pick yourselves up.”
“Help us.”
“I know you can help yourselves. Pick up the pillars. Move quickly, all of you!”
“How encouraging.”
“And why aren’t you helping, Discord?”
“Don’t get so angry. It’s not my fault you’re so naive. Hurricane was a fool and please remind me how many pegasi capitals existed before Cloudsdale.”
“At least ten.”
“Fifteen. And all of them succumbed to nature. They all fought until their bones ached and they could not move any longer. And whenever they made progress…”
“I can’t control it!”
“Back down to zero. There’s simply too much to do. Too many clouds to rebuild and too many ponies to save.”
“But they can fly.”
“What’s happening?”
“It’s all too easy to freeze up in fear. What are those two responses? Flight or fright? Death can be such a fright. You almost remind me of Hurricane.”
“No. I’m better than him. We’re better now. We can get help.”
“Some others tried that too. You’d know that if you didn’t sleep through your classes.
“Such pointless death brings a tear to my eyes.”
“What do you mean pointless?”
“It’s as I said before. With a bit of chaos, death is not necessary. Usurping nature isn’t always a bad thing. Just look at me!”
“But-”
“Still, I can’t do everything as I’m needed in so many places. There has to be somepony willing to help the city. Somepony loyal enough to save their city. Look behind you!”
“Help me!”
“Hold on!”
“Thank you Rainbow Dash!”
“Everypony cheer for Rainbow Dash!”
“Rainbow Dash!”
“Rainbow Dash!”
“Rainbow Dash!”
“They need somepony who can create a utopia.”
“But my friends…”
“Do you not have friends in Cloudsdale? Or family?”
“The girls…”
“They’ll be fine. I’ll give my Discord guarantee that I won’t hurt them. Now, what do you have to do?”
“I have to help…”
“Who do you have to help?”
“My friends.
“My family.
“My home.”
“Go on Rainbow Dash. Save your home and I’ll save mine.”
