The Librarian

Spike could be seen carrying a book back and preparing for his flight toward Ponyville. Ponyville had gotten a new Library and he wanted to check it out. "Spike while you're there say hi to Pinky for me."

"Sure thing Twilight of course you want me to say hi to Applejack and the family too."

"Of course silly now off you go!" Spike took flight barely dodging a small pillow. Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle was doing research on the new library and came across a photo of the owner and librarian. Twilight chuckled as she imagined Spike fumbling for words soon.

The Library

Spike walked into the new library and the chiseled artwork showed that Maude Pie and Limestone had done most of it while the more intricate parts had Marble Pie's touch. Spike spotted the librarian and realized that she too was a draconian and as he got closer he realized and noted that this draconian was very attractive and wore the most fitting wire-rimmed glasses he had ever seen. Spike struggled not to look at her chest too much but she had an appealing chest. "Good morning sir, looking for anything in particular?"

"Just in for a visit and collect Intel to write a review. It's a hobby of mine and a small side business I run if Her Majesty doesn't need me."

"I've read your reviews I'm pretty sure." The draconian thumbed her index cards and Spike couldn't help but think that she was a dragon version of Twilight Sparkle. "Ah yes! I read your review for the fashion shop here in town, 'Carasoul Boutique' I was there myself and I bought myself a dress to wear. You must be Spike or as Rarity had put it 'Spikey Wikey'. I can tell she still sees you as a kid from when you first met. Please tell Twilight Sparkle that I meant no insult building this place where her old library once stood. I thought it would be a way to honor her by placing it where her library once stood." Spike then recalled the monument outside.

"You dedicated the place to her?"

"I had, Pinky Pie I think her name was throw a massive welcome party for me and Applejack was friendly enough, I swear Applejack can't seem to lie to save her life! I wore a gaudy outfit to that party and it was what I traveled in and she tried to tell me it looked okay but she in her own way said it looked awful."

Spike commented that it was definitely Applejack. Spike could tell that he was fumbling with his words but still managed to be coherent. It was the he saw Starlight Glimmer nearby that he knew that he had a spell to enhance one's speech placed on him. When Spike applied for his library card and checked out a couple of books on cooking he walked over to Starlight Glimmer.

"Twilight sent you, didn't she?"

"She had sent me and don't tell me you didn't notice those fine hips and fine boobs?"

"Damn it Starlight you know that I noticed them."

"Don't be embarrassed Spike, When she first came to town and had that party thrown for her Big Mac and his mild personality had to save Braeburn from being a total embarrassment. Braeburn first thing he blurted when introduced himself was, 'Hi hottie I'm Braeburn' All the while he was staring at her melons."

" I've got a feeling that Twilight will have her desk covered in research papers on this draconian....shit! I forgot to ask her name!"

"What a shame, guess you'll have to go back and get it." Spike glared daggers as he stood up and walked back to the library to get the girl's name.

"Starlight you're enjoying this too much and tell Trixie hi for me."

"Spike you're back I see, how can I be of assistance?"

"I forgot to ask you your name."

"My name is Obsidianyx it's a a combination of Obsidian and Onyx it means 'Dark and Precious Dragon' it was my grandmother's name. I assume you got named Spike for those green ridges on your head and back."

"I guess so, never asked. I'll let you finish cataloging your books and magazines."

"Bye Spike, and remember those are due back in two weeks!" As Spike walked around Ponyville he found the Crusaders had also taken time off and were with Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon.

"Hi Spike" Scootaloo called out, "saw you at the library earlier, isn't Obsidianyx gorgeous? you gotta see how the sunlight reflects off her scales."

"Scootaloo don't make the poor dude feel embarrassed." Sweetie Belle retorted.

"It's fine Sweetie Belle, I'm about to text Twilight to let her know I'm heading back soon." Spike palmed his face as he realized he left his phone at the library in the cooking section. "Got to go girls need to get my phone before someone digs through it. Spike now climbed the steps into the library and found Obsidianyx holding it in one manicured clawed hand while in the phone with another.

"This Twilight Sparkle, I'm calling to let you know Spike left his phone here at the library unlocked and you're saved as a favorite contact so I dialed you. May I be so bold your majesty as to say that you got lucky, most dragons like us tend to horde and collect stuff and get super greedy? I can tell that it isn't in his nature, I know it's weird that I'm saying this but I do mean it." Spike blushed as he remembered when he had that incident where his draconic greed took its toll.

Spike made his presence known and Obsidianyx blushed and screened Twilight suddenly appeared and froze and quickly knew what happened.

"Spike how much did you hear?"

"All of it and this is now awkward."

"Spike...Obsidianyx is now hyperventilating...like I used to." Twilight turned to Obsidianyx and asked, "Did you come to Ponyville to try to make some friends, or did someone in higher authority send you here?"

"I came here on my own to make friends and I was crazy enough to spill my feelings for someone I just met."

"Hey Obsidianyx, they were me with Rarity when Twilight and I first got to Ponyville years ago. I was painfully obvious about it. I will be around more often...because I kinda like you and the other dragons I know will be bugging me about this soon enough."

"Spike..do you know Ember and Smolder because in the dragon lands they talk about you being single and available."

Twilight couldn't help but chuckle, "So you came on your own to make friends, and Smolder and Ember sent you here to find a boyfriend because you spent too much time in your books."

"Exactly right, I see your raised Spike to love books. However, I'm a comic book nerd, I have the entire original Power Pony comic books even the trading cards."

Spike had to let his nerdy comic book side show and he began to ask a ton of questions and spout off facts that he knew. Twilight Sparkle chuckled as she teleported back to her own library to chill and try new experiments.
