A lone hooded figure was standing at the top of a large hill that was overlooking a small village. He watched as a solitary pegasus mare carried two small bundles inside of a cottage, before closing the door she quickly looked around, making sure that they were alone.

The mysterious figure let out a low, guttural chuckle, "So Celestia thinks that she can hide the foals here with a mere pegasus. She is still foolish as ever."

The figure then started to walk towards the cottage with each step he took, a bell chimed quietly. As he got closer to the cottage, he could feel the power of the two foals grow stronger.

Approaching the house, he knocked, causing the door to rattle and creak on its hinges. The door opened and the mare slowly opened the door so that it only revealed her peach-coloured face that twisted into a look of pure terror as her purple eyes came face to face with his own red eyes.

"Hello there." The hooded figure said, slamming the rest of the door open causing the terrified mare to fall to the floor.

"N N No it can't be you, Celestia told us that you wouldn't be able to find us." The mare stuttered, slowly backing away from the intruder.

The figure smiled as it roared, "Your precious princess, was wrong, you can never hide from me for I am everywhere."

Suddenly two large, curved horns that protruded from the hood of the cloak began to glow yellow as the mare started to grasp at her throat as she began to choke.

"Now tell me where the foals are!" The creature snarled, slamming the mare into the wall.

The mare spluttered, "N Never."

Before he could reply, he heard the sound of a foal crying, coming from upstairs. Peering upwards he smiled before looking back down at the mare, his red eyes glowing, "Then die."

Leaving the mare, he started to ascend the stairs as he heard the distinct sound of a neck-snapping. He headed towards the source of the sound and as he entered what appeared to be a nursery, his hidden face contorted into fury as he stared at an elderly unicorn stallion with a long white beard, "YOU!" The hooded figure yelled angrily, his horns glowing yellow as he readied to fight.

Instead of replying the unicorn shot a magic bolt at the creature before grabbing the foals in his magic. Seeing the danger of losing the foals forever, the figure quickly leapt forwards and used his own magic to grab a little pegasus colt, just as the unicorn vanished along with the little filly.

The creature stared down at the little colt that was in his magic, who was crying, his original plan of killing the foals was now in shambles due to that wretched unicorn. However another plan began to form within his mind, "I suppose an old ram like me, could use an apprentice..."

Meanwhile, the old unicorn teleported into the Canterlot Castle throne room, where he saw an apprehensive Princess Celestia, "What happened?" She asked her voice full of concern.

"It was him, he tried to take the foals, unfortunately, he partially succeeded, he managed to take the young colt right before I teleported. In the process, poor Mane Allgood was murdered by Grogar." The unicorn announced somberly, removing his starry, pointy hat, out of respect for their fallen friend.

After a brief minute of silence, Celestia asked, "What should we do about the colt?"

The unicorn sighed deeply, "I am afraid to say that Grogar would've most likely ki- disposed of the foal."

Celestia looked down at the filly, "What should we do about this one?"

"The safest option would be to put her in an orphanage and let her get lost in the system."

"I thought that having her here in the castle would be the safest option?"

"No it would be the opposite, A pegasus filly living in the Castle, in close vicinity with you would be noticed and ponies would start asking questions."

The unicorn, noticing the princess's disappointment exclaimed, "Celestia, I know that you made... mistakes but you cannot fix them by looking after this filly."

Celestia sighed as she looked outside the window towards the moon, "I know, It's just that it's been nearly a millennium since I bani- since she was sent away."

After a heavy silence, the unicorn then spoke up again, "I believe I know where the perfect orphanage is that we can put her in."

Celestia raised her eyebrows with curiosity, "Really, where?"

"Not far from here, there is a small and quaint little town it is small enough that she may not be found but also close enough to Canterlot that in case of the unlikely chance that Grogar does show up, then we can easily respond." the unicorn explained.

Celestia nodded as she took one last look at the little filly that held such a large power but didn't realise how special, she was. Before the unicorn teleported away, Celestia said, "Thank you Star Swirl."

The old unicorn nodded in response before vanishing in a bright, flash of light.

Star Swirl was standing outside of a miserable looking house, a sign over the front door read, 'Ponyville Happy Orphanage'. In Star Swirl's opinion, the place looked about as happy as a grieving widow.

Star Swirl used his magic to carry a small basket that held the little filly, who was covered in an orange blanket, her hooves clutching a small purple stuffed teddy bear.

Star Swirl placed the basket onto the front step, he took one last look at the sleeping orange filly, her orange belly slowly rising and falling with each breath she took.

Star Swirl then knocked on the front door before walking away to hide behind a group of bushes, he watched as a steely looking elderly earth pony mare opened the door. The mare looked around before her eyes found the basket. She rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath before taking the basket inside of the orphanage.

With the job now done and the little filly, now in a safe location, Star Swirl teleported away.
