Twilight Sparkle narrowed her eyes to the dashing glimmers of light highlighted above. The dark storm clouds would flicker a multicolored spark ever so briefly as an unseen force zigzagged across the heavens. She knew if she didn't attack soon with some kind of a counter spell, that her fate would soon be…
“Boom!” Rainbow Dash sliced through the center of the pathetically slow unicorn with ease, Twilight screaming in a silent gasp as rainbow vomit exploded from her muzzle
“Impossible!” Rainbow ooze trickled down the sides of her snout before the pony violently exploded into a pile of multicolored goo.
“Nuh-uh. - Says here on my card that if I played Echo Of Storms for three turns, Rainbow Dash can destroy any one card.” Smolder blew a loud raspberry, sprawled out on her side lazily.
“Grr, not an Ultra Rare Twilight!” Spike screamed hunched over like a tactician overanalyzing the board game before him.
“Any one card.” Smolder flicked the card to the drake who erupted in fiery anger, eyes scanning the card but finding no loophole.
Without thinking twice, he flipped through his hand of cards hastily. Grabbing three before slamming them down onto the board excessively. Spike’s eyes aglow with a sinister green hue, as flames of laughter poured from his jaws.
Spike dressed in a suit of gleaming armor sprang forth from the nearby lava pools of the battlefield on Dragon Keep. Removing a golden blade from its sheath, he howled in laughter. “You might have killed my mentor, but with this legendary collection of weapons…YOU SHALL FALL!” Spike screamed, pointing the blade towards the sky, a blue bolt imbuing it with untold power.
“...” Fluttershy delicately walked out of a nearby bush, eyes locked on the Drake who nodded in silence.
“Arghhh!” Spike inserted the blade inch by inch into his heart, screaming in agony as he coughed up a trail of crimson flames before falling over limp.
“What the buck was that!?” Spike yelled with mouth agape in uncertainty.
Smolder rolled onto her backside, tossing him her pink colored playing card. “Fluttershy's special ability “The Stare.” can make any non-pony card destroy itself.” She couldn't help but burst out into giggles.
“Now I'm mad!” Spike quickly slammed down a card from his hand.
“I play…Pony of greed!” He was able to refresh his hand.
“Meh.” Smolder yawned unimpressed.
“Oh that's not all! Next, I play Exile Of The Wicked!” Spike played a sickly green card adorned with Chrysalis walking away from an abandoned hive.
“Yipee.” The Dragoness inspected her claws with a stretch.
“And before anything else, I activate the Spell card Darkness Falls!” Spike grinned, adding a handful of counter stones to his Chrysalis gleefully.
Smolder batted her long dark lashes. “...”
As madness took hold of the young drake's mind. He special summoned his ultimate card to the battlefield. Queen of the Abyss Chrysalis, a truly fearsome foe born from hatred and fueled by disdain.
Chrysalis walked out from her ghastly green portal hauntingly. Dark mist wafted from her wings as she wore a crooked crown adorned in mystical gems. Every step shook the very earth beneath her hooves, with a mighty roar multiple volcanoes in the distance erupted.
“None can stand before me!” Chrysalis hissed only to turn into solid stone in a matter of seconds, her body posed mid sentence with a look of confusion upon her face.
The clouds above parted lacklusterly, and Celestia yawned with a crude snort. “ I smite thee.” Her voice drenched in sleepiness before she barely tapped the statue with her hoof.
With little dramatic impact, her foe fell over to the side, exploding into thousands of tiny pieces across the battlefield.
Squeaking softly, Smolder with sleep laden eyes yawned once more. “That's game…zzzzz.” A loud snore echoed from her nostrils as she curled onto her side, slumbering.
Spike sat there, his eye twitching, Celestia able to banish any Dark creature permanently from battle, being special summoned if an unredeemable creature was placed on the board. His whole deck of ultra rare ponies defeated by a snoring dragoness.
“So, how was the new card game I created!?” Mina cheerfully poked her head into the basement of her Comic Shop.
The petite brown dragoness noticed her slumbering cohort and blushed a bright pink hue. “That bad, huh?” Mina folded her wings back with a saddened pout.
“She didn't even try!” Spike grumbled, plopping his hand onto the table flustered.
Mina doing her best to hide a sheepish giggle of delight behind a tiny claw, not wanting to hurt her friend's feelings further. “They do say “The greats make it look easy.” " She pointed over to Smolder, who gave a loud burp in her sleep.
“Hmph, too easy, I say!” Spike regained his composure before slowly shuffling his deck.
“The game is great so far, Mina.- I just wish I could master it!” He placed his deck down in defeat.
Mina nudged Smolder to the corner with relative ease, her claw unlatching the card case that hung from her hips. “How about we have a duel? We can discuss changes along the way.” She teased the drake who grinned ear to ear.
“Sounds like an adventure of a lifetime.” Spike wasted no time in drawing his first hand.
Mina grabbed a multicolored dice and rolled it atop the board. “The duel takes place in the meadow.” She named the field condition with a friendly swish of her tail.
Drawing her own hand, the game had begun, placing down her spell of Overgrowth. The meadow would soon be overflowing with vibrant flowers of any type imaginable. Minda using her first turn to summon herself.
Minda happily sprawled out across a bed of flowers, the heart-shaped scale tipping her tail waving over the royal drake who spawned into battle.
“Hmm, what battle plan is this?” Spike chuckled clad in his best battle armor.
Mina rolled onto her side with a wink. “Didn't I tell you?”
“I'm a lover, not a fighter.”
