Sunset returned home and noticed Luna standing alone in the dining room. She ran towards her favorite aunt and embraced her with a hug not noticing that Luna had a hot cup of coffee that she almost dropped onto sunset “Hey auntie Luna “

“Hello Sunset, you seem very happy to see me. At Least more than usual.” Luna hugged her back with one hand to the best of her ability trying to set down the cup.

Sunset didn’t really know why she was always too happy to see her aunt, but realization hit her. Luna had been more of a mother figure than Celestia had even been.

“Celestia won’t be for a while. Take a seat, it’s been a long time since one of our chats.”Luna sat down waiting for sunset to do the same.

“ uh ok..” Sunset was worried about what the conversation would be about.

“No need to worry you're not in trouble. I just wanted to check up on you.” Luna tried to give Sunset reassurance.

“Oh..” Sunset didn’t let her guard down yet as she still wasn’t sure.

“ Anyways, how’s school been? Made new friends?”

“ Oh yeah I have a whole group of them now.” Sunset's face lit up at the idea of thinking how much she loved her friends and how much they loved her.

“Ah I see they must make you very happy. So, are there any boys you like?” Luna smirked almost like she knew what she was asking.

“…” Sunset froze her face blank. Impulsively she got up and tried to run. Unfortunately for her Luna grabbed her by the hand and sat her back down.

“ Sunset do you have something to admit?” Luna asked, sounding very professional.

“Uh no I don’t think I do.” Sunset had her hand behind her head trying not to piss herself from fear then looked down at her lap and started fidgeting with her hands

“Clearly there is some guy or girl.” Luna took a sip of her coffee.

Sunset looked up at Luna in the eyes on the verge of exploding.” It's uh a girl” Sunset whispered, putting her head back down.

“Sunset that’s completely ok by me I love you no matt-“ Luna tried to comfort but was cut off by sunsets 2nd escape attempt. This time Luna couldn’t catch her.

“ shit shit shit shit what do I do where do I hide.” Sunset's eyes teared up. She shut herself into her room.

“Sunset, you didn’t let me finish speaking.” Luna spoke loudly frown across the hall of sunsets bedroom

“You don’t need to..” Sunset voice was groggy and cracking.

“It appears I do. Sunset I love you no matter what your still my niece. And I would very much like to hear about this girl.” Luna's voice softened. “Now open that door so we can talk face to face.”

Sunset eventually complied and was face to face with Luna. Luna put out her hand to wipe the tears away from Sunset cheek then pulled her into a hug.

Sunset burst into tears embracing her aunt.” I don’t know if Celestia would-“

“It doesn't matter what she would think, not that she would hate you for it.”Luna pulled away from the hug and rested her hands on Sunset shoulders almost as giving a pep talk.

“Really?” Sunset face was red with tears a a little bit on snot, she was kind of a ugly crier.

“Yes she would love you no matter what, she’s just awful at showing it. Now what made you think that she wouldn’t.”

“Um…”

“That was a bad question, she was bad at showing emotion to anyone. But besides that I know she loves you, she talks about you all the time.”

“Oh”

“Bet you didn’t know that.” Luna grabbed a nearby tissue to wipe Sunsets face.” Now how about you clean up and we can talk about that girl you like, I would like every detail.”

“ok auntie” Sunset wiped her tears off an headed to shower.
