//-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Dash Reads the Manual -by Bandy- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 1 Forward: On behalf of the entire P3G team: thank you, and our sympathies. The P3G suite of pegasus assistive mobility products are more than just tools. They are one part of your ongoing rehabilitative healthcare journey. We at P3G Systems believe that no injury should keep a determined pegasus out of the air. Each of our 100+ products are painstakingly engineered with this goal in mind. The P3G-SUSpensor Mana-Charged Wing Brace is a powerful platform designed to be both powerful and unobtrusive. As with any P3G product, safety is our number one concern. Please read this user manual carefully and ensure both the product and the individual are ready for use before attempting— Rainbow Dash skipped ahead. //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 2 Basic Use Functions of the P3G-SUSpensor Mana-Charged Wing Brace Pre-Use Checks This brace is designed to work in tandem with standard wing splints. The brace will not work with full or partial wing casts. If you have wing casts, do not attempt to use the brace. Use of the brace by unauthorized users will void your warranty and could lead to further injury. Pending clearance by your medical provider, continue to Assembly. Assembly: Reference Appendix A for visual aids Extend wing brace to its full length Locate mana battery tubes above shoulder harnesses Insert one (1) standard mana battery into each battery tube. Make sure the battery contact node is facing out Close battery tubes. Turn screw on top of battery tube until tight Note: Mana batteries weigh approximately 2.4 pounds. This excess weight will impact your optimal angles of takeoff/landing/gliding. 5. Remove mana-conductive wire from packaging. Inspect wire for tearing or damage. If wire is damaged, return to P3G Systems. Do not attempt to fly with damaged wire 6. Attach wire at base of left battery tube 7. Thread wire through wire-protecting shell to right battery tube 8. Attach to right battery tube. No slack should be present. Wire is elastic Note: Steps 9-11 can be skipped if your medical provider has already provided you with a vial of your blood 9. Remove ritual pin from box 10. Heat pin over flame to disinfect a. If religious, say prayer 11. Pierce frog on right hoof 12. Spread blood on center brace frame where wing frames meet. Frame will glow red. Do not touch the frame until glowing subsides 13. Adjust harness straps to preference Activation: Reference Appendix B for visual aids of the Control Panel. Brace controls are located above the left shoulder, next to the left mana battery. Activation procedure is as follows: Press and hold Mana Activation Button (MAB) for three seconds. Mana batteries will begin to glow Press Distribution Button (DB) for three seconds. Mana will flow across the length of the brace. You will feel this as a pleasant tingle. If tingle becomes unpleasant, hold Kill Switch (K!) and contact P3G Systems. Reminder: pressing Kill Switch will eject wing brace from harness straps. Be considerate of those below you when making emergency ejections Flex wings in a 360 degree rotation to ensure brace is not pinching or obstructing movement Flight: Go With Your Gut! Every flyer is different; therefore, every flight experience will be different. Take time to practice with your wing brace. Start slow. Be safe! //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Rainbow Dash opened the //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 3 Overclocking and Fringe Use-Cases SAFETY NOTICE If you have skipped to this chapter directly from the table of contents, let the following serve as your opportunity to reconsider: Consider Break Point and Shimmer Flash. They are two former Wonderbolts and early investors in P3G Systems. They also bravely volunteered to test the prototypes that would eventually become the P3G-SUSpensor Mana-Charged Wing Brace. Break Point tragically lost a wing in a test flight incident in 1016 A.N.M. The following month, Shimmer Flash suffered a similar fate. Now it is your turn to utilize this brace. Rainbow Dash skipped back. //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 3 Overclocking and Fringe Use-Cases Rainbow Dash skipped the first two paragraphs. As long as there have been pegasi in the sky, there has been an intrinsic need to push the envelope of performance. P3G Systems understands this, and have built into our brace several overclock functions designed to temporarily increase the performance output of the system. Use of the overclocking feature will not void your warranty if returned to a certified retailer for diagnostic screening after each overclock use. The next twelve pages were full of indecipherable algorithms and charts. Rainbow Dash’s frustration mounted as she attempted to parse all the jargon. After a few tries, she decided she'd just wing it and turned to the next chapter. //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// OPERATIONS MANUAL: SECTION 4 Attachment and Detachment P3G Systems has the privilege to provide outstanding rehabilitation devices to our customers. We also have an obligation to provide them with the knowledge they need to get the most out of their system. This means not just knowing how to use it, but when to stop using it. P3G products are not permanent flight aids. They can be just as detrimental to your rehabilitation process as reinjury. Wing atrophy and muscle loss are only the two most common side effects of overuse. Use the brace only as long as is medically necessary. If your goal is to rehabilitate your wings, your primary rehabilitation tool should be your wings. We, the P3G team, would like to deviate from this manual's omniscience to include a personal note: We are so proud of you. Though we can’t know what circumstances have brought you here, it is our sincere hope that our brace eases your burdens, metaphorically and literally, and when the time is right, you will put it back into its box and never have to use it again. Good luck. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue The final pages had no words. This was an intentional piece of engineering. In the interest of preserving the words printed on the previous pages, it gave readers a safe surface on which to cry. Rainbow Dash adjusted her wings so the splints wouldn’t dig into her sides. Then she put her head on the book and utilized the engineering.
