It was not easy moving house while being a single father with two energetic colts, let alone moving across the country to an entirely different city. Void felt his patience growing thin as he once again for the fiftieth millionth time, told his two sons, "Spectrum, Stormy, sit down! This is a train, not a playground!" Void shouted while trying not to disturb the other passengers, who were already giving him death glares.
Two pegasus colts sat down across from him, one colt, who was the eldest had a striking green, blue and purple mane and tail, wore a mischievous expression while the other colt, who was the youngest and smartest had a simple black mane and tail, was sulking, he hated getting told off for it was not in his nature to be naughty, that was his brother's job.
"I'm sorry, Dad," Stormy said timidly, while his brother, Spectrum Streak merely huffed while crossing his hooves and glared at his father.
Void sighed, "Spectrum, I know that you're not happy about this move, but I have an important job that requires us to move to different cities."
Spectrum scoffed, "It's always your job, this is exactly the same as when you left me to go off with the army while I had to stay at home with Grandad and Nanna!"
"Spectrum, that was different, you were only a foal, besides this time it's different I'm not leaving any of you," Void explained while pulling his two sons into a hug.
Spectrum sighed, pushing his father away and looking down at his hooves, "I know Dad, it's just that I don't like leaving my friends and my school back in Manehatten. I feel like I've abandoned them."
"Hey, you did not abandon them, you told them that you were leaving and we can always visit them."
"I know, it's just that I had an argument with Dart before we left, he called me a..." Spectrum tried saying but choked on the last word.
Void felt his temper rising, there was one thing that he hated and that was bullying. He knew that Dart was a bad influence on his son but no matter how hard he tried, they always managed to find ways to hang out with each other. "What did he call you?" Void asked, trying to remain calm.
Spectrum sniffled, "A traitor... and that Mum only left us because she hated me."
Void felt like he was going to explode, trying not to show his anger, he used his hoof to lift Spectrum's chin, so that Void's yellow eyes made contact with Spectrum's magenta eyes, "Your mother did not hate you, she left because she had her reasons. Don't you ever let anypony else tell you different. Anyway, you've seen the newspapers, do you really think a pony like that would hate her own son?"
Wiping his tears away, Spectrum shook his head. Void looked out the window to see that they were about to leave Canterlot, "Next stop is ours, get ready to leave." Void said as Stormy put his book back into his saddle bags and Spectrum put his doodling kit away.
"Dad, what is Hicksville like?" Spectrum asked.
"Oi, we don't call it that!" Void scolded.
"But that's what everypony in Manehatten calls it." Spectrum retorted.
"That's because everypony in Manehatten is a bunch of rude bas... I mean... ponies." Void stuttered, That was a close one, Spectrum thought, mentally chastising himself.
Unfortunately for him, Stormy noticed, "Tssk, you were about to swear."
"I was not." he retorted his blue face turning red.
Stormy merely snickered.
"Back to your question, Ponyville is a small village with a lot of space to fly around," Void explained, truth be told, he had no idea himself, the first time he had visited the place, was the day before when he had to oversee the movers, moving the furniture into their new home.
Stormy scoffed, "Let me explain, brother: Ponyville is a small village located south of Canterlot, originally founded by the Apple family and is home to the largest Apple Orchard in Equestria and is currently home to Princess Twilight Sparkle and the Elements of Harmony..."
Both Spectrum and Void stared at each other while shrugging their shoulders. Stormy's history lesson was interrupted by the conductor announcing, "We are now approaching, Ponyville, please mind the gap when exiting the train."
The group of ponies then waited by the door, intending to leave first.

When they exited the train, Spectrum Streak unfolded his metal, red stunt scooter, putting his father's old army helmet on his head and Void Streak led the two colts over to a coffee shop that was inside of the train station, where Void ordered himself an Iced Coffee and Spectrum and Stormy, a milkshake each. Before they left the station, Void popped his head out the door before saying, "All clear."
Spectrum couldn't help but laugh at his father's antics, "Who are you hiding from, the sheep, hahaha"
"Very funny but no. I'm hiding from a pink mare, who doesn't stop talking like a politician on steroids, she's standing right behind me, isn't she?" Void groaned as he noticed his son's gestures to stop talking. Upon seeing his son's awkward nods, he plastered on a fake smile and turned around to see the pink mare in his face.
"Hi," Void said through clenched teeth.
Instead of answering, the pink mare gasped before rushing off at the speed of a cheetah.
"Nice talking to you too," Void said.
"You were right dad, she sure did sound like a politician," Spectrum said while bursting out into more laughter.
Void merely grumbled. While they walked both colts looked around, Spectrum saw all the open skies and saw opportunity, while Stormy practically dragged them both over to a fountain just so that he could admire the statue.
Afterwards, they then headed towards a cozy two-story cottage with a large front garden. Void was about to open the front door when he noticed something.
Quickly putting his police badge on around his neck and pulling out his Glock, he whispered to the two colts, "Get behind that wall, now!"
Spectrum was about to ask a question when his brother pulled him towards the low garden wall, where they both ducked down.
"Whoever has broken into this house has made the unfortunate mistake of breaking into a cop's house. You have ten seconds to reveal yourselves before I come in guns blazing!" Void Shouted, aiming into the darkness of his house.
Meanwhile, behind the wall, Spectrum said, "Cool."
"Not cool," Stormy hissed.
"Shush, Dad's about to shoot somepony," Spectrum said.
"I swear, you're a psychopath," Stormy told him.
"And you're a nerd," Spectrum retorted.
Back at the house, Void watched as he saw a pink pony leap out from the couch, Void mentally cursed, "You! So the reason, you didn't speak to me back at the station was so that you could rob me instead!"
"Oooo are we playing cops n robbers." The pink mare exclaimed seemingly unconcerned that he was aiming a gun at her.
"No pinkie, I don't think he is playing cops n robbers," A white unicorn with a twirly purple mane said with her hooves raised.
Seeing the entire town emerge from places, he thought were impossible, he exclaimed, "Here's me thinking that Manehatten was bad but here the entire town tries to rob you."
"Oh, we're not trying to rob you, sir. We're trying to give you a welcome party." an earth pony, who was wearing a stetson, explained.
Suddenly Stormy and Spectrum both popped their heads through the doorway with Stormy asking, "Is everything okay?"
Spectrum also asked, "Where's the shoot out?"
"Everything's okay and there is no shoot out."
Suddenly they heard a gasp, Void looked over and stopped as soon as he realised that he was looking at his old high school fillyfriend and Spectrum's mother...
