Somehow it happened.

Ponyville.

It was a normal day in ponyville, everybody was up and about their usual business, foals were playing, stallions and mares were working, yep all was right in this small town of theirs.

“COME BACK HERE WITH THAT TUB OF ICE CREAM YOU BUG!”

Well not everybody…

In the castle of friendship we can see a particular scene unfolding. Two individuals were participating in a chase of sorts, an alicorn chasing a changeling to be more specific. But this was no normal changeling no not all, this changeling is well…was the queen of the changelings. She was a feared villain known to all equestria as a love sucking witch that ruled her hive with an iron hoof. But then why was she here, in the castle of one of her worst enemy's. Well that's a pretty simple answer. She was being petty.

“NEVER! THIS ICE CREAM IS ALL MINE TWILIGHT SPARKLE! AND YOU AND YOUR LITTLE BEST FRIENDS CANT STOP ME! HAHAHAHAHA-”

CRASH

“OW!”

Without her noticing she somehow managed to crash head first into an opening door, the culprit of said door opening was a pony sized young adult dragon named spike.

“Oh hey Twilight I heard someone screaming outside the room and wanted to check if everything was oka- Oh hey Chrysalis.” he waves at the changeling, who was currently holding her head in pain.

“Oh Spike thank you for stopping her,” the alicorn pulls the changeling up with her magic. “Wouldn't have done it without you.”

“Yeah no problem, but can I ask why she's here? Again? Like for the 4th time this week?”

Twilight sighs. “I don't know and honestly I do not care, I just want her out of the castle before she ruins more of the preparation for Princess Celestia's Birthday.” She looks down and sees the tub of ice cream was dropped, opened and was currently melting on the floor. “Oh you gotta be kidding me!” She starts to violently shake the changeling with her magic, anger flowing through her. “WHY. ARE. YOU. SO. GOSH. DARN. ANNOYING!”

“Woah Twilight calm down! you're gonna kill her!” He says, grabbing her shoulder attempting to calm down the angry alicorn.

she looks at him, changeling still in her grasps. “Calm down? Calm down?!” she drops the poor changeling and starts to hyperventilate. “She has single handedly been a pain in our flank to all of us ever since she was defeated months ago.”

‘Oh boy.’ Spike thought, mentally preparing himself for the rant that was about to befall on him.

“And not to mention that she has been harassing all of us since we came back from the hive! And somehow she found out about the birthday party and now she's been here almost every single day trying her best to ruin the party!” She's trying to calm herself down by using her breathing technique. “The girls and I are tired of her Spike, poor Starlight has been bunkered up in her room for days in fear of what Crysalis might do to her, since you know she stopped her and all.” She finally manages to calm herself down and sighs. “All i want is just a normal day without any of us getting harassed by that dang bug, is that too much to ask spike?”

“Not at all but,” he looks behind Twilight, “maybe you should tell her that.”

Twilight follows his gaze and sees the queen frantically galloping away from them. Twilight tries her best to shoot a spell at her but ultimately misses her shot thanks to Chrysalis turning a corner. Twilight is not happy.

“CELESTIA DAMMIT!” she stomps the ground cracking the crystal floor in the process, her anger returning with a vengeance. “I had her in my grasp,” but her anger was quickly replaced with disappointment, “I had her spike i- argh!” she lays on the floor covering her face with her hooves, feeling defeated and all she wants to do right now is take a break from it all. “What am I going to do?” She mumbles quietly.

Spike sighs, he hates seeing his best friend like this. And she was right about Chrysalis being an annoyance or a pain in the flank as she put it. it came to the point where the mane 6 themselves had almost given up on the birthday party itself, even Pinkie, the party pony herself, was at her breaking point. And if the party pony doesn't want to party then… you really have a party problem. So he decided that enough was enough, he had a bug to deal with.

“I'll deal with her.”

“What?” She looks up at him, wondering if he was serious.

“I'll take care of her and while I do that, you and the girls can finish setting up the rest of the preparations so you guys can get ready for the party.”

“But Spike she's dangerous, what if she does something to you.”

“Well then I'll just use my fire.”

“But what if she uses her magic to control your mind!”

“Uhm…then I'll-.”

“Or what if she eats your love!”

“Twilight…”

“Or what if she stuffs you into a cocoon and makes an evil version of you making us have to fight you, or what if-”

“TWILIGHT!”

She jumps at his scream, finally snapping out of her neurotic behavior.

“Just trust me ok.”

“But Spike…”

“Please, let me do this for you.” He walks towards her and hugs her. “I promise I'll be fine.”

She sighs and reciprocates the hug. “Ok…just be careful alright.” she nuzzles him. “I don't want to lose you.”

“Don't worry you won't, and besides,” he separates himself from the hug and puffs his chest proudly, “I'm a big dragon now, no bug can take me down.” he says, as he flexes his arms.

She smiles.

“Yeah you're right.” she pats his head. “Why was I even worried?”

He smiles back at her.

“Cuz you're a worry wart.”

“Heh maybe…” she stops petting him. “I'll go tell the girls to not worry about Chrysalis anymore, so you better get going before I regret letting you do this.”

He performs a mock salute, and starts running down the hall.

Twilight’s smile slowly falters as she sees him make a turn around the corner, and decides to make her way back to where the rest of the mane 6 are located, worry was still on her mind. All she hopes is that her assistant comes back safe and sound.

Spike was still running around the halls trying to find any lead to where she might’ve gone. While on the run he tried checking around in the rooms but ultimately found nothing. He was about to go into another room until he heard the sound of a window shattering, so he ran to where the noise came from and saw a broken window in the hall. He decides to take a peek outside and sure enough there he sees Chrysalis galloping towards the Everfree Forest.

“Bingo” he says to himself and makes his way to the main entrance, hoping that he could still make it before he loses her trail.

He finally arrived at the entrance of the Forest. He always dreaded going there but right now he felt like he didn't have a choice. After a few seconds of him preparing himself he finally decides to make his way towards the Everfree.

“Ok spike we'll be in and out before you know it.” he says to himself, trying to calm his nerves.

After a few careful steps he finally makes his way inside the forest, and he was regretting going in but he couldn't give up now. Twilight believed in him and he wasn't going to fail her. So with new found courage he puts all of those scary thoughts aside and keeps moving on.

A few steps forward and he found a few hoof marks leading deeper into the forest.

“So that's where you went.”

He finally had a good lead and he wasn't going to let it slip away. He starts following the hoof marks and after minutes of walking he finds himself at the entrance of a big cave. He inspects the entrance and its surroundings, there he sees the hoof prints smeared on the cave floors. Yep he found her. So he takes a deep breath and walks inside, being careful to not alert her of his presence.

‘I keep forgetting how creepy caves are.’ he thinks to himself.

The cave was dark, and a bit humid for Spike’s taste, but right now he can only complain through his thoughts or else he would be spotted by the changeling queen, so he tried his best to keep himself silent and in the shadows.

As he was making his way through the cave he started seeing a green glow peer from one of the corners, it looked like it was coming from a passage inside the cave. The closer he got to the glow the more he started to hear a noise coming from it, and it sounded like someone was talking to themselves. So he decided to sneak inside the small room and hide behind some cover to figure out who it was that was talking. And upon hearing her voice, he finally knew he found his target.

“Drats! My plan has been foiled yet again by those ponies and their stupid dragon.”

‘Jeez did she always sound like a cartoon villain?’ He thought from his hiding spot, weirded out by the queen's behavior.

“Hmmm…” she started to pace around in circles. “What could I do to make them regret ever crossing me?” She sits down and puts her hoof under her chin. “Hmmm, what to do, what to do…” then her eyes open up in realization but soon sharpen, and a malicious grin starts to slowly form on her face. “What if I were to destroy their precious cake made for their happy little sun princess.” Her grin widens. “Hohoho, yes that sounds delightfully evil, and knowing Celestia she would be distraught by seeing her sugary sweetness get destroyed.” her smile turns into a cackle. “HAHAHA YES THAT WOULD COMPLETELY DESTROY HER EMOTIONALLY.” She calms down, and starts making her way to the exit of the passage, and probably towards the castle to do her misdeeds.

Spike had to act fast. So he jumps out of his hiding spot and blocks her way out.

“Oh no you don't!”

Chrysalis jumps at the sudden appearance of the dragon, but she quickly recovers and puts on her best smile.

“Well, well, well if it isn't Twilight Sparkle’s pet.” She starts to approach him slowly. “What brings you here?” her smile widens. “Did your master send you here to stop me?” She says in a cocky tone.

“Nope, I came here all by myself.” his eyes sharpen. “and I'm not going to let you destroy the cake I put my blood and scales into.”

She smiles. “Aww that's really sweet of you…” her smile disappears and is replaced with an apathetic expression. “but I really do not care so…” she closes the gap between her and him in a single step and cranes her neck down, leaving her face inches away from his. “SCRAM!”

But Spike does not budge.

“No”

“What?!” She is baffled.

“I said,” he walked up to her, making her back up a bit. “No.”

“Hmph,” she huffs, impatient. “I do not have time for this.”

She decided her time was not to be wasted on a simple dragon, and tried moving past him. But Spike had other plans.

“No” he says as he jumps in front of her stopping her right in her tracks.

She ignores him and tries getting past him again.

“Nope!”

But no matter how much she tried he would always stop her.

“Stop this at once.” She says trying her best to keep her cool.

“No I don't think I will.”

“Then I shall make you move!” She lounges at him, fangs ready to eat all the love he has.

SMACK

She backs up, reeling from the pain coming from her cheek. She slowly puts her hoof towards her cheek, baffled at what just happened.

“D-did you just slap me?”

“You were going to eat me! How do you think I was going to react!”

She was taken aback, no one has ever slapped her, disrespected her to that degree. And she did not like that at all.

“How…” she began to growl. “HOW DARE YOU STRIKE ME!”

Spike would've gotten scared if it wasn't for the adrenaline that was already pumping through his blood.

“HOW DARE ME!” He Screamed back at her, matching her tone. “HOW DARE YOU!” He walked up to her. “YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO DESTROY MY FRIENDS HAPPINESS!” He jabs a finger into her chest. “AND FOR WHAT HUH! SO YOU CAN HAVE SOMETHING ELSE TO DO WITH THAT SAD MISERABLE LIFE OF YOURS!”

She backs up upon hearing that, tears start to form and slowly fall down her cheeks. Spike notices what he just said and starts to regret all the words he just said.

“Oh um…look i-”

“Get out…” she mumbles barely audible for Spike to hear.

“What?”

“GET OUT!” She desperately wanted him gone. “GET OUT AND DON'T COME BACK!”

She turns around and trots away from him. She makes her way to one of the corners of the cave and she lays down facing the wall making sure he couldn't see her expression. And just like that she gave up on her plan, no fighting, no dialogue, nothing. Only a few words were enough to stop her.

He did it he won, he defeated the evil changeling queen, not in the way he wanted, but hey a wins a win right? All he had to do right now is get back to the castle and tell Twilight about the good news and he would become a hero…but Spike didn't feel like one. He felt like a jerk. And he didn't like that at all, since he felt like he went overboard with his actions, heck he slapped her for Celestia's sake instead of talking to her. And even when he had the chance to talk to her he decided to use his words to unwillingly attack her. And right now he had to make a choice. He can either leave and never come back again, or he could stay here and try to make amends with her.

He looked at the exit of the passage, and back at Chrysalis. After a few seconds of thinking, he finally had his answer.

He takes a deep breath and walks over to where she is laying. He sits down beside her and tries to think of what he could say to her. But before he could even say something she interrupted him.

“Didn't I tell you to leave…” she says sadness surrounding her words.

“Well yeah but I… felt really bad for what I said and I wanted to Uh…apologize to you for saying something I really shouldn't have.”

“....” she did not respond.

He sighs. “Look I'm… sorry for what I said…it was really crappy of me to say that to you and I really should've just talked to you, and I also wanted to apologize for slapping you. That was really rude of me to do, self defense or not.”

“....”

He sighs again. “You don't have to say anything,” he stands up, “I'll just take my leave…seeya later I guess.”

He started to walk away from her. But was stopped by her telling him something.

“Because they took my people from me.”

“huh?” he turned around to face her, she was looking at him.

“They took them away from me, every single one of them left me because of your friends…”

He didn't say anything, he just walked back to her and sat down again.

“And why did they leave you?”

“Because they had something better than what I could give them,” she chuckles sadly, “funny thing is I could've given them what they needed but I was too selfish to care.”

“What was that something?”

“Love.” She stares at him. “Love to us is a luxury, a luxury we need to survive.” She looks at the ground. “And I was taught since I was a little larva that we needed to take it from others to live, and so I did as such. We kidnapped so many creatures from their homes just to survive.” She sighs. “But when I rose to power I let my greed take over me, I decided that we needed more love, not just to survive but to use it as a means of power, to overtake the alicorns, to make ourselves stronger than everything else.”

“So that's why you wanted to crash Candace's Wedding, you wanted power.” He points out.

“Well yes…and no.” She changes into a sitting position, now facing the dragon. “Survival was still our priority, but as I said before I let greed take over me, and I thought that maybe an invasion over the capital of Equestria would give us enough love to survive for years to come.” She smiles. “And if I were to be honest, when I felt the surge of love go through me I became addicted to it, and it became more apparent when I defeated Celestia at her own game. But as soon as I thought I won, I was sent out flying towards the skies, with my people in tow, all of us expelled from canterlot. We were defeated by the power of love itself, ironic isn't it?” Her smile disappears. “Not only did I lose my power, but I had begun to suffer from its withdrawals. I felt the urge to take as much love as I could for myself just to reach the same potential as I did before.” She looks at the ground in shame. “But thanks to that I slowly became more dependent on love and more aggressive towards my own people to the point that I only viewed them as servants and not as my subjects.”

“Jeez…” he says, not really knowing what to say.

“So it made sense why they wanted to leave me, they didn't want a selfish ruler, they wanted to live a life they could call theirs. And Thorax was the one to offer that.”

“Ok…but If you knew that why did you leave? Why didn't you try and help Thorax?”

She smiles sadly. “Because…I was angry.” She sighs. “I thought I was better than him and that I should be the one to rule them all, not him. Hence why I slapped Starlight’s hoof away, I didn't want redemption,” she sneers, “I wanted revenge against everyone that was present that day.” She frowns. “But the more time I spent alone the more time I had to think about my actions…and i’ve come to the conclusion that I am truly alone and that nothing can change that.” She looks at the ceiling. “Honestly the only reason I'm an annoyance to your friends, is because that's the only thing that brings me joy in this world, it may be petty but honestly what else could i do.” She looks at him. “I'm alone, I'm too weak that I can't even use any spells, and all I can really do right now is annoy some little ponies in a small town. So yes my dear dragon I am miserable.”

Spike feels worse and was trying to think on what to do now, he still feels like he hasn't been able to make it up to her and still doesn't know if her plans to annoy the girls was still going to happen. So after what felt like minutes of thinking he knew how to kill 2 birds with one stone.

“Ok,” he stands up, “I know what we could do.”

She arches an eyebrow upon hearing the word “we”.

“We could hit the town and have some fun.”

She squints her eyes at him, not trusting him.

“Why?”

“Well,” he chuckles, “I'm gonna be honest with you, I need you to leave the girls alone for the day.” he smiles at her. “And I wanna make it up to you since I feel like I haven't done a good job at that.” his smile falters for a bit. “And no you can't feed off ponies love.”

“Why should I trust you? For all I know you could have me locked in Tartarus so I can rot in there for all eternity.”

“Look, I know we haven't been on good terms and honestly I haven't been a good dragon to you but…” he crouched, putting himself on her eye level. “I Promise that I, Spike The Dragon, will make sure you have a good day today…and if you want I can let you eat some of my love, but not all of it since I still need some to live.”

She started thinking about his proposition, maybe it would be a good idea to go outside and do something more interesting, rather than staying inside her cave scheming an “evil” plan. But at the same time could she really trust the same dragon that disrespected her. So after a few minutes of thinking with both her brain and stomach, she had finally made her decision.

“Fine,” she stands up as well, “I shall allow you to take me on a date.”

Spike jumps at the word “date”.

“WHAT! What do you mean date?!”

“Isn't this what ponies call a date?” she smirks and starts to trot around him, surrounding him with her tail and body. “A stallion invites a mare to go out with them.” She moves to his side and whispers into his ear. “You wouldn't want to ruin our date now would you?~”

“I-uhm I don't-” he was flustered.

She pulls herself back. “Now come on, let's get going before I regret agreeing to this.” She moves away from him.

“Right! Let’s get going.” he follows her, but quickly tugs at her side when he remembers something. “Wait, how are you going to pass unnoticed? You said it yourself, you're too weak to use your magic.”

“hmm you're right…” She looks at him. “Maybe if you gave me some of your love it'll give me a bit of a magic boost.” She gives him a malicious smile, already thinking of a way to get rid of him.

“Ok,” he sighs, “let's just get this over with.”

He motions for her to lower her neck towards him. She was confused as to why she needed to do that since all she needed to do was just open her mouth and suck the love out of him. Maybe he wanted to make it easier for her to eat his love, so she obliged.

SMOOCH.

What she didn't expect was a kiss on the cheek.

“There you go, sorry if it wasn't enough I really tried to put a lot of my love in that kiss so if you need more just tell me.”

She was speechless, a blush slowly started appearing on her face.

“Uhm, are you okay Chrysalis?”

“I need more…” she mumbles, still stuck in her place.

“What?”

“I said, I need more.” she clarifies, trying to hide her obvious blush. “Since well… I don't think that was enough love…”

“You sure? I put a lot of effort into that kiss.”

“Yes!” She screamed desperately. “...I mean yes I'm sure,” she smiles nervously, “you wouldn't want my disguise to fail would you?” She said, hoping he would believe her.

“Hmmm, if you say so…”

He motions for her to get close to him and she eagerly lowers her head again waiting for the sweet flavor to come back to her.

SMOOOOCH.

He made sure to make this kiss last longer so he could give her as much love as he could. Chrysalis on the other hand was enjoying every second of it, savoring it's sweetness, almost salivating at the touch of his lips on her skin. She didn't want this feeling to stop, but every good thing has to end.

“There, is that enough for you? Or…”

She didn't even register what he said since she was still on her sugary high.

“Hey…you okay?”

He tugs at her, finally getting a response from her.

“Huh, what?”

“I was asking if you were okay, since well… you looked kind of out of it.”

“Yes, I'm fine I was just…processing the love you gave me.” She says as she raises her head back up. “No need to worry about me, dragon.”

“Spike.” he simply said. “My name is Spike, remember?”

“Ok, Spike, how about you lead the way?” she starts transforming herself into a unicorn mare, “And I shall follow you.”

Now it was Spike’s turn to be speechless, he couldn't believe that the changeling standing before him turned into a beautiful mare.

She transformed into a tall well toned white mare with a beautiful lavender mane, Grey eyes, and a small heart cutie mark on her flank.

“Stunning right?” she strikes a pose, making the dragon blush in the process. “Saw her on my way here, I thought I could use her looks for my own benefit, but maybe now I could give it a good use.” her eyes become half lidded. “Wouldn’t you agree~.

“Yeah…yeah I-um, I agree yeah.”

“Good,” she smirks, “let's get going.” she says as she starts making her way out the cave.

Spike finally shakes himself out of his trance and begins to follow her.

They arrived at ponyville and started making their way around the town. Spike was planning the date in his mind, thinking of places where they could go and enjoy themselves. Chrysalis on the other hand was just taking in the view of the small yet relatively calm town, she didn't hate it but she didn't like it either.

“Hey can I ask you something?”

She looks at him and camly nods.

“Is there anything else you can eat? Other than you know…love.”

She looks forward and ponders a bit before giving him a response.

“We can eat anything that resembles love.”

“What, like heart shaped candies or something?” he asked jokingly but genuinely curious.

“Close but no. What I really mean is the flavor of love.”

“And what does it taste like?”

“Sweet,” she smiles, remembering the kiss from before, “But sometimes it's a different kind of sweet, mostly depending on the creature and you decide to take their love from.”

He hums to himself, thinking of a possible restaurant they could go to eat at. It wasn't until he looked up and saw a familiar location that he knew would work for both of them.

“Hey,” he calls to her, “I know a good place where we could get some food.”

“A wedding?” she asks, while looking at him.

“No, no it's sweeter than that, trust me.” He holds her hoof. “I’ll lead the way”

She's surprised at the sudden action, but decides to go along with it. All she hopes is that he's right about the sweet part.

After a few minutes of traveling They finally arrived at the location Spike was talking about and Chrysalis was amused to say the least. Maybe it was because of how sweet the place looked and smelled or how bright the colors were, but to her it was…just too colorful for her taste.

“Cool right?” Spike asks, expecting an answer from her.

“I think my eyes are bleeding…”

“Aw c’mon don't be like that, you’re gonna love it trust me.”

He grabs her hoof and starts dragging her again, to her dismay, towards the main entrance of the restaurant. He opens the door for her and lets her go inside first. The moment she enters her nose gets assaulted by the sweet smell of baked goods. She tries her best to avoid salivating at the sweetness in the air but finds it almost impossible to do so.

“This place smells wonderful,” she sniffs the air a bit more, “it's as if love is in the air.”

“I know right,” he says as he closes the door behind them, “Sugar Cube Corner is the best place for sweets and snacks. C'mon let's sit down over there.” He points at a table with two seats.

She nods and follows him towards the table. Spike pulls out her chair and motions for her to sit down.

“You know I can do that myself right?” She says, giving him a blank stare.

“Yeah I know but what type of a dragon would I be if I didn't treat you right.” He smiles at her.

“Ugh, whatever you say dragon…” she avoids his gaze in an attempt to hide her blush from him. “Let's just enjoy our meal so we can leave.” she says as she sits down.

With a smile still on his face he nods, and takes his own seat. He tried to strike up a conversation, but all he got from her were short yet simple responses. So he gave up on the conversation and waited for someone to take their order. After a few minutes someone finally came to their table.

“Welcome to the- Oh why hello there spike, what brings you here,” she turns to face Chrysalis, “Oh and you brought a mare with you. Is she your marefriend?”

Spike laughs at that, while Chrysalis gives her a blank stare.

“No Mrs. Cake, she's a friend from canterlot, she just came to visit me for a few days,” he faces the mare sitting in front of him, “Isn't that right Sweet Hearts.” He winks at her.

She was confused at what he meant with that wink of his, until she thought about the nickname he gave her and then it all made sense to her. So she puts on her best smile and starts the façade.

“Yes that is correct dear,” she faces Mrs. Cake, “and I must say, for a town this remote, ponyville has been treating me really well. I might even say that it's probably better than Canterlot in some regards.”

“Oh that's great to hear dearie, I hope you enjoy your stay in this humble town of ours.”

“Don't worry I will.”

Mrs. Cake nods with a smile on her face and leaves them the menu.

“Here you go you two, tell me when you're ready to order and I'll be here in a flash.”

And with that she takes her leave, leaving both the dragon and ‘pony’ to decide on what they wanted to eat. Spike already knew what he wanted and was waiting for his date to finish choosing her treat or drink. Chrysalis though, really didn't know what to get. To her everything looked the same, so she decided to ask him for a suggestion.

“Hey! Dragon!”

“Yeah?” He looks up from his menu. “You need help with something?”

She pulls up the menu with her magic. “What am I looking at?” she levitates it towards him. “Like what does “Sugar Lugar Cookie Surprise” even mean?”

“Ohh that, yeah you can thank Pinkie for that, she can really be creative when it comes to naming and creating pastries.”

“That's cute and all, but that still doesn't explain what I'm looking at!”

He looks around and sees that some of the customers are looking at them “Look, do you want me to order for you or…” he says, hoping that would stop her shouting.

“If it means I get to eat then yes…you shall order for me.” She glides the menu towards him.

He sighs in relief and grabs the menu. He starts reading it while trying to think of a treat she would like to order. He finally lands on something that's pretty simple yet sweet.

“How about a milkshake?”

“Why would I want milk that shakes?”

“Well beca-” he does a double take. “Wait did you just- ugh nevermind, look just trust me ok you're gonna love it.”

She looks at him, uncertain if she should trust him or not. I mean he hasn't lied to her yet right? Maybe tasting something new would be worth it.

“Ok I'll trust you…for now.”

“That's all I ask.”

He waves for Mrs Cake to come over and take their order. He orders her a Strawberry Milkshake and he decides to order his usual. She nods and walks into the kitchen to get the orders ready. Spike on the other hand tries talking to her again, hoping he can make a bit of small talk this time.

“Hey.” He tries getting her attention.

Chrysalis was looking at space replaying some of the events that happened today, then she noticed him trying to talk to her.

“Yes?”

“Can I ask you something?”

“Go ahead…” she says while arching an eyebrow.

“Why were you flirting with me?”

“You have to be a bit more specific, dragon.” she says, not understanding his question.

“Back in the cave you were flirting with me, and I uh…” he scratches the back of his head. “I wanted to know why.”

She stares at him intently for a few minutes, making spike sweat a bit nervously wondering if she was gonna eat him or not.

“It was a consequence of your love being a bit too…strong.”

“Really? Is that how you felt when you were mind controlling Shining Armor?”

“Indeed, his love for his fiance was very, very strong, even for a stallion his size.” She looks away. “I had to do everything in my power to avoid jumping him on the spot. It was horrible, acting all lovey-dovey egh.” She grimaces. “but if I were to be honest that wasn't the worst experience I've had with love.”

“Oh really? Which was the worst one?” he asks, putting his hand under his chin with peaked interest.

“Well…it involved a stallion and a giant jar of jam.”

-25 minutes later-

“And then rainbow thought that doing tricks inside the kitchen was a good idea and not even a minute later and she already crashed herself into a wall!” He says, trying to contain his own laughter.

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

In those 25 minutes Spike had managed to make her open up to him, not completely but enough for him and her to talk like they were best friends. Both of them were enjoying eachothers company.

“Yeah hehe, that's why Twilight doesn't want her flying around the castle when she comes to visit. Says she's too “reckless” when it comes to tricks.”

“Oh i would've loved to see her face when that happened,” She says, finally coming down from her laughing fit, “but honestly how can somepony think that would be a good idea?”

“Dunno,” he shrugs, “Rainbow can be a bit too impulsive sometimes.”

“It would seem so.” She unconsciously smiles at him.

Spike smiled at her back, happy that he could make her smile. His smile made her look away, embarrassed for making her feel this way, but she would be lying if she said that she wasn't enjoying their date so far.

But the moment was interrupted by their orders arriving.

“Looks like you two are enjoying yourselves.” She says as she arrives at their table with their orders on her back. “Sorry for the wait, we had a few problems in the kitchen but no worries we got your orders out just in time.” She looks at Spike. “Would you be a dear spike and help me?”

He nods and starts grabbing the orders. He passes the milkshake to Chrysalis, who uses her magic to get it closer to her. And he grabs his own plate.

“Made those cupcakes just how you like 'em dear, sprinkled gems with vanilla frosting.” She says.

“Thanks Mrs. Cake.”

She smiles and nods, leaving the couple alone to enjoy their food and drink. Spike started eating one of the cupcakes but soon stopped when he saw his date eyeing her drink, not even taking a sip of it. He swallowed the piece of cupcake he was chewing on.

“Is something wrong?”

“Are you sure this won't poison me, dragon?” She looked up at him. “It smells sweet yet I don't know if I can trust it.”

“Oh c'mon you're just being dramatic.” he rolls his eyes. “Trust me you're gonna love it, just give it a taste.”

She looks at a drink then back at Spike, who motions for her to drink the milkshake. After a few seconds of debating whether or not she should drink it, she decides to drink a small sip to taste it in hopes that any poison inside the drink wouldn't kill her. So she lifts up the cup and proceeds to take a sip. She puts it back down and stares at nothing, it was like she was caught in some sort of trance.

“uhm…you okay?”

She said nothing and kept looking at space…well that is until she lifted the cup back up and proceeded to drink the whole milkshake in seconds.

“Jeez, slow down!”

She slams the cup back down, almost breaking it in the process. She looked at Spike with a predatory gaze, making the poor dragon worry for his life.

“More…” she gasped, barely able to talk since she didn't breathe during the whole ordeal.

“Excuse me?”

“I need MORE!” She shouted, hunger controlling her.

“Okay! Okay! I'll get you another milkshake just stop screaming.” He motions for her to look behind.

Now everybody inside the restaurant had their eyes on them, even Mr. and Mrs. Peaked out of the kitchen to see who or what screamed. She looked at all them for a few moments and then brought her attention back to the dragon sitting before her, slowly yet quietly growling at him. This worried Spike greatly since he really didn't know what she would do if he didn't comply, so he decided that the best course of action was to appeal to her demands.

“I'll take that menacing growl as a yes.” He says, trying his best to not let her smell his fear.

He raises his hand and motions for Mrs Cake to come back to the table, not knowing that the changeling sitting In front of him would take a toll on his wallet.

-10 Milkshakes later-

It was close to the afternoon when they both walked out of the restaurant. Chrysalis was happily sipping on her last milkshake while Spike on the other hand was sulking because of the amount of bits he wasted on the food.

“Well there goes a decent amount of my savings down the sugary drain.” he sighs as he puts his coin bag back into his non-existing pocket. “Atleast you’re enjoying the drinks.” he chuckles.

She was done with her milkshake and had the cup in her magical grasp not knowing where to put it.

“Hmm? What are you on about, dragon?” She says, looking at him confused.

“Nothing, just talking to myself.”

She squints her eyes at him, but then just looks at the side with indifference.

“Well If you're done talking to yourself, maybe you can be of use to me and take care of this for me.” She hands him her empty cup.

“Oh yeah sure.” he grabs the cup and starts looking for a trash can he could use.

He finds one, a bit far away but it’ll have to do. So he makes his way towards it. On the way towards the garbage can he starts to think of what else they could do since he hasn't been on a date in his life. Well he did try to go on one with his beloved Rarity, but the moment he tried asking her out she respectfully declined his offer, stating that she saw him as a little brother. Of course this gave Spike a severe case of heartbreak. But after a few months of thinking and understanding the situation more he finally got over it and even started talking to Rarity again. He does wish that she could've given him a chance to prove that he was worthy of her love, but he can't force people to be the way he wants them so he had to accept that they weren't meant to be. But he was fine with that, and besides he couldn't let his date wait any longer, so he walked up to the trash can and got ready to dispose of the cup.

“Ow! I'm sorry, okay! I won't do that again I promise, just put me down!”

That was until he was distracted by a scream coming from where he last left his date. So he throws the cup away and starts making his way back, hoping that nothing bad happens to Chrysalis.

But when he arrives he finds a small crowd surrounding the area where Chrysalis is, he proceeds to look at what they were staring at. To his surprise he sees his date levitating a brown stallion with her magic, the poor pony screaming and pleading for her to stop. He immediately runs towards her.

“What are you doing!” he shouts, trying to get her attention.

She merely glances at him then back at the stallion she was holding, and then proceeds to launch said stallion into a wall nearby with enough force to not kill him but just enough so he would end up with a certain amount of bruises.

“What took you so long, dragon?” she asks him in a calm manner, still looking at the stallion she just tossed.

“Why the hay did you do that?! you could've killed him!”

She turned around and started to approach him slowly, her eyes on him like a predator to her prey.

“You haven't answered my question.” She says in an attempt to persuade the dragon to not continue with his questions, but he doesn't budge.

“Because you haven't answered mine.” He crosses his arms, standing his ground.

Both of them stood there waiting to see who gave up first, the crowd was staring in awe waiting for something to happen. And that something came in the form of a sigh coming from the unicorn mare, (Changeling).

“He was “flirting” with me, or trying to.” She huffs. “Honestly I wouldn't call what he did as flirting, more like harassment.”

“Really?” He walks up to her, changing his demeanor to a more worried one. “He didn't hurt you did he?” He asks, walking around her and making sure she didn't have any injuries.

“Yes I'm sure, and no he did not lay a hoof on me.” She stomps her hoof on the ground. “So stop worrying about me, dragon.”

He stops in his tracks and smiles sheepishly, a bit embarrassed of his actions.

“Oh yeah, sorry about that,” he says while walking up to her, “let me just check one more thing first.” He reaches out and puts his hand on her cheek, he starts to look around her face for any bruises. “Yep no injuries here either.” He says in a more softer tone.

She doesn't respond to him. She melts into the hand that was holding her, closing her eyes and enjoying the warmth of his hands, a small blush slowly growing on her face. Just like the kiss from before, his smell was driving her insane. She didn't want to let go; she even used her magic to keep his hand in place. worrying the dragon a bit, but he allowed her to do it since she wasn't really hurting him. After a few moments of silence, Spike decides to speak up.

“Uhm Chr-i mean, Sweetie maybe we should get going,” she gets close to her ear and starts to whisper, “there's uhm…there's ponies watching.”

This makes Chrysalis let go of Spike and open her eyes in annoyance, raising her head and looking at the crowd with a glare that could freeze even the biggest of creatures.

“Excuse me but…DO YOU MIND!” she shouts, almost making the ground shake.

The crowd scatters, most of the ponies running back to where they were before and some even ran away to their homes, scared of the mare.

Chrysalis breathes some air to calm herself down, then looks at the dragon that was currently covering his ears.

“anyways…we better get going before something unfortunate happens.” She looks at the stallion she knocked out then back at the road and starts walking away. “Come along now dragon, we still have a date to finish.”

He doesn't respond, just mutters something under his breath and runs after her.

It was the afternoon when they arrived at Ponyville's Local Market. Both of them were walking, passing near the stalls, both looking around while they did so. Spike was looking for a specific stall, guiding Chrysalis along the way. They kept walking until a certain red headed yellow filly caught their attention.

“Spike! Spike!” She yelled out, waving her hooves around in an attempt to get his attention.

“Oh hey Applebloom, hey Big Mac” he answers walking towards their stall, dragging his date behind him along the way. “guess you're both covering for Applejack huh.”

Big Mac nods. “Eyup.” he says with his usual monotone voice.

The filly nods excitedly. “yep and we almost sold all of our apples.” She looks at her big brother. “Ain't that right Big Mac.”

“Eyup.”

“I even got to use my marketing skills to sell some apples.” She says with pride

He smiles while arching his eyebrow. “Is that so? And did it work?”

“Well no…” she deflates, but quickly recomposes herself, “but I tried atleast” she says a proud smile adorning her snout.

He chuckles softly at her response. “Yeah, better luck next time then.'' he says comforting her by petting her head, making the filly giggle as a response.

But he soon stopped when he heard a soft growl come from behind him, right where Chrysalis was. So he turned around to face her and ask her if she was okay. But when he did so all he saw was her looking in another direction, using her hair to hide her face, like she was embarrassed of something. He raised an eyebrow at this, but promptly shrugged and faced the apple siblings again to continue their chat from before.

‘Whew that was close,’ the Changeling Queen thought to herself, ‘did I… just growl?’ She asked in her mind, not knowing why she behaved that way. Was she jealous that Her dragon was giving someone else the love and attention that she desperately needed? ‘Wait’ she shakes her head, making sure she was thinking straight. ‘My dragon?’. She thought in disbelief of what she just came through her mind. ‘No, stop thinking like that’. She chastised herself mentally trying her best to keep all those love related thoughts away from her mind. She doesn't want to fall in love with him, no matter how sweet, charming, and caring and addicting the dragon could be. ‘I said stop!’ she yelled inside her mind wanting this sweet mental torture to stop. But it didn't, her mind was concentrated on all the gestures, his smell, his damn smile, everything that encapsulated him was driving her crazy.

But soon her thoughts were interrupted by a scaly hand tugging at her hoof. She was brought back to reality, and thanked the gods that she could get out of her own mind…for now.

“Oh! I almost forgot to introduce you guys to my friend,” he moves her towards the stall, “her name is Sweet Hearts she's from Canterlot.”

The changeling queen sighs and merely waves at them, not wanting to really speak with the apples.

“Oh nice to meetcha the names Applebloom,” she points at her brother, “and this is Big Mac, my older brother, he don't talk much but he's really nice once ya get to know him.”

Big Mac merely nods at her.

“How charming.” she says with a sarcastic tone.

“Well anyways,” he looks at Chrysalis. “Can you wait here for me please? I need to get something from the market.” he looks back at the red stallion. “could you take care of her while I'm gone.”

“Sure,” Big Mac says, “but can ya take Applebloom with ya, y’know so she can help ya with whatever you're buying.”

Spike gave him a puzzled look not understanding why he wanted to do that but ultimately decided to take her with him. “uh sure why not…” he looks at the filly. “you wanna come with me?”

She nods enthusiastically, and started leaving her stall so she could join him.

“Ok, I'll be back in a few.” Big Mac nods back in response.

And so both the filly and dragon make their way towards a farther part of the market, leaving the big red stallion and changeling behind. None of them spoke, they only stared at each other, one judging the other. That one being Big Mac. He didn't know who she was and didn't trust her. He knows he shouldn't judge a book by its cover but this book seems a bit odd for his taste. So he kept staring , making the changeling uncomfortable.

“Would you stop it with the staring.”

“Are you two dating?” he finally asks, changing the subject.

This confused her, why would he care? It's not like he's the one dating her.

“And what if we are?” She was cautious, not trusting the stallion.

“ahm asking cuz of how close you two are.” he huffs. “and if I were to be honest, I really don't trust ya.”

She rolls her eyes, not taking his words seriously, like who does this stallion think he is.

“And? Why should I care about that exactly?”

“Well put it simply, I don't want ya breaking his heart.” his eyes squint. “So I would rather you call this off as early as you can, and leave him be. For the sake of both of ya.”

“Hmm that's cute, but I don't think I will.”

The stallion furrows his eyebrows at her, already not liking her response.

“You see I'm not leaving him anytime soon, since well… your opinion on us shouldn't really concern me in the slightest, and besides,” She smirks. “He's grown fond of me.” Her smirk turns into a malicious grin as she approaches the stall. “yet here you are trying to mess up this relationship of ours.” She's now inches from the stallion's face, making him a bit uncomfortable. “You wouldn't want to break his heart now, would you?”.

The stallion doesn't say anything. what could he really say, Spike looked happy with this new “mare” and who was he to judge what a dragon may want in a “mare”. So he sighs and looks at the mare with defeated eyes.

“I guess yer right…”

She smiles. “I'm glad we came to an understanding.” She backs off from the stall and proceeds to sit down on the ground.

“But…” he says, making her turn around to look at him again. “You need to promise me something.”

She tilts her head, curious at what he'll say next.

“Promise me that you won't hurt the kid, he's already had enough with the whole Rarity situation that happened months ago.”

“Rarity? The white mare that he's infatuated with?” she asks, a bit of jealousy souring her words.

“Eyup, the one and only.” He closes his eyes. “I'm not angry at her or anything, but…” he huffs. “I just think she could've done a better job at letting the poor kid down, y'know. ” he opens his eyes. “I just…I don't want him to be depressed again. That's why I'm asking you to not hurt him.” His eyes soften. “I don't want to see the dragon I call brother go through the same thing twice.” he looks up to her. “So please promise me that you'll take care of him. That's all I ask.”

He was met with silence, a face of indifference adorning her face. It's not that she didn't like making promises, no she already promised herself that she would destroy the pony known as Starlight glimmer. No, what she didn't like was making promises to creatures that she deemed unworthy of her attention, excluding the dragon of course. But she thought about it and decided to play along with the stallion just to get him off her back. So she closes her eyes and agrees to his promise.

“Okay, okay, I promise I won't hurt him.”

The stallion doesn't believe her, so he gives her a stern warning, which promptly falls on deaf ears, and decides to wait for the dragon and filly to come back so he can get rid of her as well.

“Hey sorry for taking so long,” the dragon says as he makes his way towards the stall, an excited Applebloom following right behind him, “I barely managed to make it in time, ooh! I also bought you guys something!” He pulls up a bag with some goodies in them.

He moves over to Big Mac and hands him a deck of limited edition collection cards from his favorite role-playing game. This made the stallion's eyes almost pop out of their socket.

“Sweet Celestia Spike! where didja get these.” he starts to inspect them with his hooves. “These cards go from 100 to almost 200 bits a pack.” He places the deck on the stall table, his look turns into a stern one. “don't tell me ya wasted that much.”

Spike shrugs, putting his hand on his chin remembering how much it cost. “Well they did cost me 150 but I said why the heck not.” He smiles at the stallion. “And don't worry I still got some bits saved up, I just wanted to give you something nice since well…I haven't been able to play with you and discord because of all the work we've been doing back at the castle so…” he pushes the deck towards the stallion. “Take it as an apology for all that time I missed playing with you two.”

“I-uh…” he sighs. “Thanks, I'll keep it just don't waste that much money on me okay, makes me feel a bit cheesy.”

Spike chuckles a bit as he pulls out a small book and hands it over to appleboom.

“Here ya go, I did get the one you wanted, right?”

The filly ran up to him and happily snatched the book off his claws. “Yep, thanks Spike.” She trots towards the stall and puts the book in a saddle bag beside it.

“Yeah no problem,” he says while he walks towards chrysalis, “and don't think I forgot about you.” He reopens the bag and grabs the only items remaining inside. “Here,” he shows her two boxes of chocolate. “I was gonna get you some flowers but…I felt like you would rather have this.” He finishes with a smile on his face, making the changeling stop on her spot.

She didn't respond, all her senses were concentrated on the dragon standing before her. The smell that was exuding from him was addictive. That damn cute smile of his. So much care, love and dedication was making her lose her mind, how can a dragon like this exist. To go above and beyond to not only tolerate her but also care for her. She wanted to hate it like she did with Shining but she just couldn't no matter how much she tried. She kept trying to tell herself to stop thinking like this to hold on a bit longer like she did before, but right now she couldn't hold it in anymore; she had to taste him.

So she took one step forward and slowly started to approach the dragon, her eyes not leaving him. Spike was starting to get confused not understanding what she was doing. And in one second that confusion turned into fear when she jumped on him, making him drop the chocolate boxes as she grappled him on the spot in a tight yet soft hug not wanting to let him go. She started sniffing him like a dog, not caring who was watching, the spectators be damned. She would have this dragon right here and right now. Spike on the other hand, was weirded out by this and tried his best to get her off him, trying his best to not hurt her in the process. But the more he tried to get away from her the tighter the hug got. She opened her mouth ready to eat his love. Spike upon seeing this decided to do something that would not only save his hide but probably calm her down as well. He waited for the right time to strike and when it came…

SMOOCH

He kissed her right on the mouth. Stopping Chrysalis on her tracks, making her eyes go wide open and her body stiffens, her mind goes blank. She was having a love crash.

Spike took this opportunity to get out of her grasp, making the changeling stay there, unresponsive. He shakes himself off and turns to face the two apple siblings, both of them staring in awe not knowing what to say.

“Uhm…guess we'll get ourselves going,” he looks at Big Mac, “thanks for taking care of her.” The stallion only nods, still overwhelmed with surprise.

The Dragon nods back at him. He picks up the chocolates he dropped and puts them back into the bag and proceeds to carry the changeling. Leaving both Applebloom and Big Mac to think about what just happened.

“I think this would be a good place to rest.” he huffs, and places her down on a bench.

They had arrived at the park, it was already evening so that meant that there wasn't going to be that many ponies walking around, so they were pretty much alone.

The Dragon sits beside her and looks at her, still worried about what just happened back at the stall. “Hey you there?” he asks, still not getting an answer from her. He starts to snap his fingers near her face, finally getting her out of her static state. “oh thank Celestia I thought I lost you there, you okay? This is like the third time this has happened.”

She blinks, looking at the dragon in confusion, until she remembered what had happened a few minutes ago and looks away in shame, not wanting to meet the dragon's gaze.

“Guess you don't wanna talk about it huh…” he sighs, feeling like he's at fault about the situation. “That's fine I guess i uhm…look I'm sorry if I ruined the date with that okay I…didn't know what to do and I thought that maybe…” he stops, he slouches himself on the bench feeling defeated. “I'm…sorry for talking, I'll just shut up now.”

That he did, both of them did. None spoke for what felt like hours, making the poor dragon feel worse about himself…that is until he heard her mumble something underneath her breath.

“Why?”

“What? I didn't really catch that…”

“Why?” She asked, a bit louder than before.

“I don't understand what you’re trying to tell me.”

She turned around finally facing him. “Why are you like this?”

“Like what?”

She started getting agitated. “YOU! WHY ARE YOU SO ADDICTING?!”

“What…?” He was weirded out.

She breathes in and calms down. “You have somehow made me lose my mind with every damn action of yours, from the kiss, the food, the way you act.” a slow growl starts to protrude from her throat. “tell me dragon, what is your plan with all of this?” She moves closer to Spike. “To make me fall for you, so you could use me for your own benefit, or are you going to slay me and use me as a trophy when the time comes.” she reveals her teeth, her canines becoming sharper by the second. “Tell me Spike, what is it? What is your game?.”

He takes a deep breath and looks at the night sky, which is perfectly adorned with stars. “Well to answer your first question, I guess I…I'm just me.”

“What?.” She says trying her best to not lash out.

“I know, it's just hard to explain I guess.” He chuckles a bit. “That's probably what makes me unique I guess, the mistakes I make, the things I'm good at, y'know the things that make me well Me.” A small grin slowly appearing on his face. “and to answer your second question,” he turns to look at her. “This might come as a surprise but…I got nothing.”

“You are joking right?” She says, not believing him one bit. “Every creature I've met wants something, either from me or my people so do not lie to me dragon.”

“I'm being honest, heck I even told you back in the cave why I was there in the first place remember?” he says, a bit annoyed at what she was saying.

“Yes, you said you wanted to get rid of me.” she spat with venom lacing her words.

“No I said I needed you to stay away from the girls,” he states,” If I really wanted that I would've called Celestia herself to get you. Yet here we are on a date, making good use of both our time, since well I'm the one trying his best to keep this date afloat.” he crosses his arms, a bit miffed about the situation. “honestly I feel like you're the one that wants to get rid of me.” He looks away with a huff not wanting to look at her.

“What are you trying to say?” She was reaching her boiling point.

He looks at her. “What I'm trying to say is that right now you're trying to push me away and I don't know why that is.” his voice softens. “Did i- did I do something wrong? If I did you can tell me maybe we cou-”

“Stop.” She interrupted him, her anger was replaced with desperation. “Just…stop with this…all of it.”

“Why? I'm just trying to help.” He crawls towards her, making her back off.

“I SAID STOP!” She flares her horn threatening the dragon with its magic.

He raises his hands defensively. “Woah, woah calm down,” he backs up a bit, “you don't have to fire any spells at me, let's just talk about this.” He starts to slowly move towards her again in a more calm yet passive pace. “All i want to do is help you,” his voice became more calming and softer by the second, “all you have to do is trust me okay.” he reaches out to her in an attempt to calm her. “You just gotta trust me.”

She was shaking, unknown emotions running through her mind. She didn't know what to do, should she shoot him and get out of there? Or trust him and let him understand her? She didn't know, her brain was scrambled in a way that even she couldn't understand. This has never happened before, not even with Shining Armor and that was already one heck of a love train for her. No this was different, his love was not controlled by her, his care was genuine and not fabricated, his charm was natural, it was making her go insane in a way she liked and disliked at the same time. She was breathing heavily, her vision getting blurry by the second, she was trying her best to keep herself calm, but she felt like she was just making it worse, she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment. That was until she felt something warm engulf her. Its warmth was calming her, stabilizing her breathing in the process. She was finally able to think straight, it was as if she was at peace. She looked down to see what it was that calmed her, and saw Spike embracing her in a strong yet soft hug. She looked at him with curiosity not really knowing what to do with him, so she closed her eyes and accepted the hug. A few minutes pass before she feels him slowly move away from her, she whines a bit when she feels his warmth disappear but she decides to not complain.

She opens her eyes, only to find the dragon looking at her with a small smile on his face.

“Feeling better.” He asks.

She turns away from him, feeling embarrassed. “Yes…”

“Good…” he places his hand on her hoof, his eyes never leaving her. “Now are you willing to tell me what's on your mind?”

“I…” she sighs. “Fine if you really must insist.”

She takes a deep breath and starts to let it out. “I…I'm confused.”

“About what?”

“About the events of today.” She looks at him. “from what happened in the cave to what is happening right now.”

He nods, waiting for her to elaborate.

“At first i was planning on taking you out the moment we were alone,” she says, expecting the dragon to lash out at her for even trying to do that, but he doesn't, all he does is motion for her to continue, “but all of that changed the moment you gave me your love for the first time, it made me feel some sort of attraction towards you.” she grimaces. “and I hated it, but at the same time I loved it. It was something I have never felt before in all my years of living.”

“Really? not even with all of those creatures you were with?”

She shakes her head. “not even with Shining, or any other creature for that matter. You see every single individual I've taken has always had a short leash on them,” she points her hoof at him, “yet you somehow managed to break the leash, and make me feel like…like…” she holds her head with her hoof, irritated that she can't think of the right word.“ugh, I can't even explain it.”

“Then maybe I could help you understand it.”

She looks at him. “What?”

“Yeah I don't mind helping you with this, since well whatever you're experiencing isn't bad.”

“Really?” She asks not really liking where this was going. “Then what do you suggest then, dragon?”

He scratches his head a bit nervous of what he's going to say. “That well…you and I could go on more of these outings, so you can experience these emotions more and get used to them.” he looks away a bit embarrassed. “Since well… I think that the best way to understand whatever you're feeling is to just experience them.” he looks at her, a big goofy smile on his face. “So what do you say? Are you up for it?”

She looks at him, trying her best to not look at his smile. She started to weigh her options, she could eat his love now and run away never to be seen again, or she could just walk away and leave the dragon alone for the night, and maybe take up his offer later on. Those were her initial thoughts until she remembered what happened back at the Apple stand. ‘My dragon…’ those words rang again through her mind, the more she thought about it the more the other options seemed less appealing to her. The thought of him being hers made her almost salivate, the love she could eat from him, the food he would offer, the care he would give her, and so much more. ‘Yes My dragon.’ she licked her lips, all of those possibilities made her think that maybe these experiences aren't so bad afterall. So she gives him the biggest smile she could muster and gives him an answer.

“I would love to.” She calmly says.

“Cool, but maybe we should talk about this later since well, “ he points at the night sky, “it's already late and Twilight is probably gonna be worried about me.”

“That is fine, I am feeling a bit tired myself.” She says as she gets up from the bench.

“Cool,” he jumps off from the bench and lands near her, “Want me to take you back to your cave?”

“Why? Do you think I can't defend myself?” She asks, a bit offended at his question.

“No not all,” he says dismissively, “I just want to be a gentledragon, that's all.”

She gives him an odd look at first, but just rolls her eyes at him. “Fine, you may take me there.”

He nods happily and motions for her to follow him, she obliges and both start to make their way towards the cave that Chrysalis calls home.

“Welp here we are, Home sweet Home.” he looks at the cave entrance then back at her. “Guess this is where we part ways huh. Even though we had a few hiccups, I still had fun, all things considered.” He pulls up the bag he was carrying with him. “But anyways here you go,” he hands her the bag of chocolates. “Hope you like em.” She holds it with her magic, quietly hovering it beside her. “I’ll come back here when I can so we can plan out our next outing, so i guess i’ll be seeing you later.” he gave her a small wave and turned around and started to walk away, that is until he heard her voice.

“Hold on.” She calmly says, loud enough for him to listen and stop him in his tracks. “Aren't you forgetting something Spike?”

He turns back to look at her, not understanding what she was trying to say. “Uhm…I don't think so?”

She pouts and walks towards him, stomping on every step of the way. “You forgot to give me a goodbye kiss.” She says trying her best to hide her embarrassment. “It is the norm afterall.”

“Really? Huh, I don't remember reading that in the dating book Twilight gave me. Are you sure that's true?”

“Are you calling me a liar?” She says with a false sense of distaste. “And here I thought you were a Gentledragon.” She put on a façade filled with false disappointment to try to persuade the dragon.

And with no surprise the dragon fell for it.

“Ok, ok, jeez you don't have to grill me for not knowing that,” he motions for her to get close to him, “come here.”

With a jump she approaches the dragon and lowers her head to his level, surprising Spike in the process. He quickly shrugs it off and slowly inches closer to her face and gives her small peck on the cheek.

“There, is that enough?” he says as he separates himself from her.

“No, but it will suffice…for now.”

“Ok…I will ignore that last part, but yeah anyways I gotta get going, love hanging out with you though I really hope we can do this again.”

“Likewise Spike, maybe we can make plans tomorrow.”

He smiles at her. “Yeah I'd love to.”

He started to walk away but quickly remembered something.

He turns around to face her again. “Hey before I go, can you promise me something?”

“Depends…” she answers, unsure of his request.

“Can you stop annoying the girls for a while? Please.”

“I'll try.” She simply says.

“That's all I ask.”

He waves his final goodbye and makes his way back to the crystal castle, leaving the changeling to slowly transform back into her original self, trotting back into the cave as she does so. A sole thought came to her as she walked the halls of the cave, ‘Maybe I could get used to this.’ a smile slowly crept onto her snout.
