//-------------------------------------------------------// Tea Time -by Dragon-In-Black- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Tea Time //-------------------------------------------------------// Tea Time Fluttershy hummed gently as she prepared the kettle to heat up. She turned on the stove and placed the kettle right on the heat before grabbing an assortment of biscuits, sandwiches and tea cups. She had fed her animal friends and had visited the market to get food as well. Like usual, the market had been packed with ponies left, right and centre, all trying to get their food for their homes. At first, it had been a little daunting that there were so many ponies there, but she had, luckily, ran into Spike, one if her friends, and he had helped her through it. As a 'thank you', Fluttershy invited him over for tea time. It wasn't unusual for them to have tea together, but it had been a while since it was just the two of them together, discussing life, reminiscing memories, and just enjoying each others company. Spike had agreed but had told her he'd come by later because he had two more chores to do. The kettle started making loud, angry hissing noises, a sign it was finished. Fluttershy took the kettle off the stove and placed it to the side to steam without losing its heat. There was a knock on her door and she beamed, gently flying towards the door. "Coming!" She called out and opened the door. On the other side of the threshold was her friend Spike the Dragon, the sibling figure and number one assistant of her friend, Twilight Sparkle. He was a purple-scaled dragon with green spikes adorning his back like sharp teeth and emerald-green eyes. He was fairly petite because of his short stature and he had begun to lose some of the baby fat from his stomach. "Hello, Fluttershy," Spike greeted with a warm smile. "Hello Spike," Fluttershy giggled and ushered him inside with her hooves. This was probably one of Fluttershy's favourite times of the week. She did enjoy her tea, but being with friends always made it so much more special to her. Sure, she'd go to the spa with Rarity on occasion, and she'd have tea time with Discord once a week, but when it came to Spike, it was just far more special to her. The reason for that is because Spike confided in her. He told her his darker secrets and desires, things he could tell no one else. Fluttershy didn't mind because she knew and understood that it had taken a lot of effort and trust on his end to reveal even half the things he's said. She prided herself for being someone he could trust so easily. It meant a lot to her. "Which type of tea would you like?" Fluttershy asked as she flew into the kitchen. "Some green tea would be nice." Spike said and went to help her. "I only got citrus, I'm afraid," Fluttershy sheepishly admitted, however, Spike waved it off with a smile. "Any green tea is always good, Flutters," He said with a little chuckle. Fluttershy chuckled along with him. The yellow-coated pegasus took a tea bag and placed it in Spike's steaming cup. She placed one in her own cup as well, allowing the herbs to do its work. They went into the living room where they sat on the sofa with respectable space between them so they could talk face-to-face without hurting their necks. On the coffee table we're the biscuits and sandwiches she made earlier. "So, Fluttershy, how have you been? I haven't seen much of you lately." Spike observed with a curious look. Fluttershy smiled. "Oh! I've been fine, I've tended to my animal friends and gone to spa with Rarity a few times. I was actually planning on visiting Twilight tomorrow at the library," The purple-scaled dragon nodded in understanding. "Ah, any particular reason, or just mare talk?" He asked. "To borrow a book and maybe some mare talk if Twilight has the time," Fluttershy pondered as it had been a while since she had a talk with her academic friend. "Gotcha," Spike said with an understanding smile as he sipped his tea. Fluttershy remembered when she first met Spike and Twilight years ago when they first arrived in Ponyville. At first, she had been incredibly shy, but when she saw Spike, she had essentially fawned all over him. She had never seen a baby dragon before, and she was quite scared of adult dragons, but with Spike, it was different. She knew Spike, meaning she had no reason to be afraid of him when he did become a fully grown dragon. And if she would be honest with herself; she sort of longed for that day. She wanted to watch as he turned into a fully grown dragon while still being his sarcastic self. She'd love to still have her tea time with him, although, she'd need a tremendous cup and Discords help to ensure she had a never-ending supply of steaming water and tea. She giggled into her hoof at the thought of a fully grown Spike and her sipping tea while other ponies stared in bewilderment. "I saw Pinkie the other day bickering with a brick wall," Spike chuckled. Fluttershy raised a surprised brow. "Really, whatever for?" Fluttershy asked with a giggle. "Well, apparently, Discord had accidentally eaten Pinkie's favourite doughnut and she got pretty mad and somehow found Discord hiding as a brick wall so she yelled at him for... two hours... I think?" Spike revealed while laughing. Fluttershy shook her head fondly at her friends' antics. "Oh dear, I hope Discord isn't too... traumatised." Fluttershy chuckled. "To be honest, he looked mostly amused, although, I heard from Big Mac that he had noticed Discord sweating nervously." Fluttershy and Spike chuckled and giggled together. Just a regular day in Ponyville! "How have you been, Spike?" Fluttershy asked as she munched on a sandwich. "Same old, helping out in the library, reading comic books and doing crazy stunts with the CMC." He said with a wide grin. Fluttershy chuckled. Nothing new there, it seemed. "I see, and how is it going with Rarity, any progress on that front?" Fluttershy curiously asked. It was no secret about the crush the little dragon had for the marshmallow-coated fashionista. Practically everyone in the town knew, although, it seemed as though Rarity was somewhat oblivious if not dense. Spike blushed slightly. "W-well... its... um... work In progress..." He chuckled while Fluttershy giggled in delight at his bashfulness. "You'll win her over, you little Romeo!" She lightly teased, making him blush and chuckle. A comfortable silence enveloped the two of them. It was always nice having these tea times with Spike, especially when they didn't need to have filter and just say anything and everything that was on their mind. She sipped her tea. Yeah, it had been a nice tea time. Author's Note Hello everyone, Dragon-In-Black here with a one-shot. Since I don't have a laptop yet I was forced to write this on my phone. Hope you enjoyed it.
