The subdued ring of golden hooves on stone, echoing in the empty halls. The throbbing of an old wound torn open. Another betrayal. Another family broken. And the constant rubbing of the bandage against my furless flesh.


AU in which Celestia gets her face melted by Sunset's dark magic, and how the loss of her beauty affects her decisions and her world.

The first chapter was written for the Quills and Sofas 'Expanding universes' contest, where we write sequels to one another's stories. The prompt for this is Woes of vicissitude by Rewan.

The second chapter was written for the Quills and Sofas queer pride contest and won first place.

Painting the cover took up far too much of my time this month.
