Some like a young Starswirl who was continuing to study for a huge exam the next day. He barely gets distracted but on this one occasion he turns the page and sees the note, *Not on test*, written on the note and the page itself interests him. The page goes into detail about a plane of existence he had never heard about it was called the Further. It was between the mortal plane and the afterlife, thus above the layer known as limbo. This puzzled him as to why he never knew about it and why it wasn't taught, perhaps this was banned? If so... why? (Starswirl) "Huh, it appears that there is no spell for this odd. What? Astro-projection? It was banned here on school grounds a while ago. No wonder nopony teaches about this "Further". While reading, he began to learn the process and had to use a metronome in this ritual. He concentrated on using his horn to start the metronome before counting to ten and opening his eyes. At first, everything was normal but when he got up and looked around he saw himself sitting in the chair eyes closed, concentrated. While around him was a cyan-blue surrounding mixed with darkness. Nearby he used his magic and lifted a blue glowing lantern that was near him and carried it with him leaving his room. He left and walked into the hallway, seeing more darkness. As he continued he suddenly saw for a glimpse a second, a dark figure crawl across to the other. It scared him nearly causing him to drop the lantern but caught it in time before continuing following them. It looked like another pony but it looked weird, he didn't know why though. He continued before going into an area where all around him was complete darkness. As he continued, he found a red door with a single light above it. He walked up to it and creaked the door open before going in with more darkness. As he went in he began to hear voices, voices which he didn't recognize. He recognized some of what they sounded different. The voices began to overwhelm him as all-around spirits began to surround him. They got closer and closer yearning to return to the mortal plane. Especially a young unicorn with such great potential to be powerful in the future. They continued to do so before they were finally stopped when Starswirl couldn't handle it anymore. (Starswirl) "ENOUGH!!!!!" This resulted in a massive burst of energy sending all the spirits into the darkness once again and resting on the floor recovering. However, as he got up in front of him a pony with a fiery red face appeared in front of him resulting in running away as fast as he was closing the red door and continued to run to get to his dorm. He ran in and returned to his body as he reached his body he awoke from it quickly exhaling before collapsing on the floor. He took several quick breaths before getting up ripped the pages from the book and put it in his new journal. He didn't know what he saw but he was in a mixture of emotions, mostly fear and confusion. But what he didn't know, was that in the Further, the was still unlocked. While it went a bit rocky with the opening, everything went quite alright. It was so difficult, preventing pretty much a war because of missing children. But it was prevented and now, Twilight has wandered into the large Canterlot library looking through for Starswirl's old notes. Ever since he returned she wanted to delve a bit more into his research. She didn't want to bother Starswirl or the others at all as they were still trying to get to the world of the future, to them of course. She continued to look before stopping and pulled down a case, opening it and pulling it out. It was unknown how his notes got into the library but, they were there. She began to look through the pages reading each one, one by one. She was so interested, she didn't go too deep into them only looking longer moments into the pages that she was interested in most. Until she saw one that brought her out of her flipping page frenzy and looked. On the Page were notes and pictures with a title in bold lettering "THE FURTHER" (Twilight Sparkle) "The Further? What the-?" Before she could read anymore she then suddenly bumped into somepony and dropped the book. As she looked up she saw who she bumped into. It was Princess Luna. (Twilight Sparkle) "Luna? Oh! I'm sorry I-" (Princess Luna) "It's ok Twilight, it's nice to see you. Why have you come here today, if you don't mind me asking." (Twilight Sparkle) "Oh, well I went and tried to find anything from Starswirl and well apparently I found his notebook. But there's one that confuses me." (Princess Luna) "What is it?" Twilight showed her the page she was reading. Luna looked at it for a moment before her eyes grew wide and had a worry on her face now. She then lowered the book and gave the book back to Twilight. (Princess Luna) "I need you to listen to me, if you decide to bring this home I need you to not do anything it says." (Twilight Sparkle) W-What why not?" (Princess Luna) "Twilight, The Further....*Exhale* The Further is a dark realm, filled with the tortured souls of the dead. And some are doomed to live the worst mistakes of their lives, over and, over and over and over, for all eternity." (Twilight Sparkle) "How do you know this?" (Princess Luna) "Starswirl told me and my sister a while back. He told us about what he experienced long ago and to never do it. So I beg you not to go through anything! Please. (Twilight Sparkle) "Ok. I won't go through any of it. I promise. (Princess Luna) "Thank you. I'll be seeing you another time, Princess Twilight." (Twilight Sparkle) "See ya, Luna. And with that, she went home with a book in the hoof. She wondered why she didn't want her to go through anything it said. There was a way to access this plane of existence but she didn't get why. She didn't see the danger of The Further and why Starswirl was so freighted by it. However, soon she would understand. Later she heads back home, with the book still in hoove, she walks in and heads immediately towards the library. As she walks into the library she sets the book down on a nearby pedestal and begins reading the book. She read the directions and knew what to do. After going out again for the item. The item was the metronome, and she settled it up quickly and began to begin. She started it, focused, and began to count from Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Zero. Nothing happened. She was disappointed and decided to head out. But she failed to notice that she was sitting in the chair eyes closed, concentrated. She went into the hallway and saw that all around was pitch black and mist across the ground, she used her horn as a light continuing through. She continued, hearing voices from the past and even voices from them a few weeks ago. As she continued she found a red door and went through it with no hesitation, continuing across before coming across a hallway. This hallway was strange, it was also red with candles across the highways lit up. She continued, deactivating her horn before going to the right. She kept going through various rooms before going upstairs and entering a large room. As she heard the song she looked up and saw through the window a figure walking around the area. She looked around, seeing that the decor and the area looked like a theater of sorts. As she turns around she comes across face to face with a dragon standing right in front of her face. But this one was different this one was almost as dark as night with a firey red face and instead of feet, it had hooves. As she got the description of the figure in front of her, she got smacked across the room knocking her out cold. When she woke up, she was still in the room. But she was shackled in a chain to her hooves. She couldn't move so she tried to use her magic, but it didn't work. She was trapped, the chain was made of metal that was immune to magic, and all she could do now was to scream and cry for help that was likely not going to come. Lucky for her, she has friends and one of them happens to know about astro-projecting. Luna woke up in a sudden rush exhaling quickly each time. She calmed down and thought of what had just come to her mind. She did it anyway, she's trapped in the Further and now, there is a possibility of the spirits crossing into the world. Death was most certain, she had to get Twilight's quickly. With no time for a chariot, she flew at fast speeds to her castle entered through the balcony, and began searching. Finally, she found her in the library sitting in the chair, still, eyes closed, concentrated. She began to panic as she knew that if they didn't do anything Equestria could be doomed. At that same moment, Spike came running into the library and saw Twilight And Luna there, and with Luna's face of panic, he got concerned quickly. (Spike) "Princess Luna? Why is Twilight just sitting there not moving?" (Princess Luna) "Spike, listen I know you haven't done it in a while but I need you to send a message to my sister and request emergency service quickly get her into the hospital and request a meeting with Twilight's other friends. (Spike) "Oh, um ok! I'll do so! He ran off quickly grabbing a piece of paper quickly out of the room. Meanwhile, Luna continued to look at Twilight. She knew that she had to get Starswirl on board. She had to, Twilight's life was at stake as well as the whole of Equestria. And he may be reluctant to help she will convince him, but first, she talks to her sister and the others. She flew back out of the balcony as Emergency services arrived to bring Twilight to the hospital. It was clear now, that everypony in Equestria's lives was in danger. This time it was not from an evil being, no uprising of any sort. But one where it involved the supernatural, something despite magic existing, doubting their existence until now. Soon many will be plagued by the spirits of the Further, wanting a new life by replacing someone else's. However, some will be haunted by powerful spirits, who want nothing more but to inflict pain on families and their targets. No one is safe. The young ones are in danger. Twilight isn't safe. Not even her friends. While it is true that they have powerful allies. It will also take a strong will to get through this. All of them, even those with none, will have to.
