Wallflower stared down at the steps she was sitting on with Roseluck and Derpy. She slowly nodded as she still stared down at the ground. “But why?” Roseluck asked. “What did we ever do to you?” Wallflower finally looked up and stared at their faces. “You two did nothing. I had that stone for about a year. Awkward hellos? Erase it. Any public speaking? Erase it. Fall down in front of everyone at lunch? Erase it. Give the wrong answer in class and look like a fool? Erase it!” She shifted her focus to her shoes and idly moved them. Roseluck faintly frowned as she processed this information. “But that still doesn’t tell me what we did,” She finally spoke. “Sophomore year,” Wallflower stated. Roseluck tilted her head and gave her a confused look. “I’m sorry, I don’t follow,” Roseluck said after a minute of silence. “Sophomore year, I tripped on my boots laces and spilled my lunch all over you. You were covered in chocolate milk and spaghetti. The entire cafeteria laughed at us, mainly you because no one ever notices me. You looked like you hated me, so I wanted you to forget that ever happened,” Wallflower mumbled. Roseluck stared at her, processing while Wallflower shifted her attention to Derpy who waited patiently. Wallflower inhaled and let out a sigh. “Freshman year. I accidentally knocked you into the pond at the park while you were feeding ducks. I fell off the swing and rolled down the hill and couldn’t stop in time. I tried to warn you, but like I told Roseluck, no one notices me. By the time I had got to you, it was too late and I had too much momentum. You fell all the way in and by the time you got to shore, you looked like you wanted to murder someone. Specifically me, but you didn’t notice me sitting in the grass in front of you out of breath. Not only did I ruin your day, but I ruined your favorite shirt. I didn’t want you to remember that really bad experience so I erased it,” Wallflower said softly. Derpy gave a thoughtful frown and Wallflower looked away. She stared off in the distance at the setting sun and closed her eyes. “I’m an awful person. I stole stuff from you I never should have taken. I’m so ashamed,” Wallflower sighed, leaning back. Roseluck and Derpy looked to each other before sighing and nodding. They hugged her from both sides as her eyes shot open at the sudden contact. “Um, what are you two doing?” Roseluck rolled her eyes with a smirk and Derpy covered a giggle with a hand. “Hugging you, duh,” Derpy said. Wallflower glared at her and shoved them off her. “But why?” Wallflower demanded. “You should be mad and angry at me. Hitting me, screaming that you never want to see me again and end our friendship. Not hug me!” “Why on earth would we do that?” Derpy questioned. “A shirt is just a item. A friend is way more important than a shirt. Plus I have another one just like that one back home.” She sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. Roseluck nodded. “I wasn’t mad at you. Sure, a bit frustrated at first because being covered in chocolate milk and spaghetti is annoying but it wasn’t on purpose. I definitely didn’t hate you for it. It was an accident, not intentional,” Roseluck said, leaning back against the step behind her. “And we definitely won’t end our friendship with you over it.” Derpy nodded her agreement. “That’d be stupid of us to do,” she agreed. “You’re a nice person.” Wallflower kicked a small pebble and watched it go flying. “I wasn’t a nice person then. Nobody will forgive me like they did with Sunset,” Wallflower mumbled. Roseluck frowned at that. “Nobody else knows. Only us, and the Rainbooms obviously but that’s because they were there. Think about what Sunset had to build herself up from. Think about how she had to make a better name for herself after ruling the school with an iron fist. Compared to that, this will be easy. Especially since you have us,” Roseluck pointed out. “I don’t know Roseluck. I don’t deserve itz” Wallflower sighed sadly and clenched a fist for a few moments before relaxing it. “First off, don’t call me Roseluck. Call me Rose, all my friends do. Secondly, you do deserve it because you seem sorry. You wouldn’t be sorry if you didn’t actually want forgiveness,” Rose stated with a smile and Derpy nodded in agreement. “I guess you’re right.” Wallflower grumbled. Rose laid a hand on her shoulder and Wallflower flinched slightly. Rose raised an eyebrow at the reaction but didn’t question it. “I know I’m right. What are you doing later. Derpy?” Rose glanced at the other girl who shrugged. “Nothing planned for today or tomorrow.” The grey girl answered. Rose focused back on Wallflower. “And what about you, Wallflower? Any plans?” She questioned. “I don’t know. I just stay in my room these days.” Wallflower hesitantly lied. She really didn’t want the two girls to know about her actual living situation. Rose slightly narrowed her eyes. “Well, we can have a sleep over at my house tonight. We can watch movies, eat popcorn and drink all the pop in the world.” Rose smiled. Derpy clapped her hands together. “I’m down.” She glanced to Wallflower. “Will you come? Please, it’ll be fun I promise.” “I- I don’t know. I wouldn’t fit in I don’t think.” Wallflower mumbled. Rose rolled her eyes and hugged her again. She felt Wallflower tense up again and she quickly let go. Wallflower stared down at her shoes for a few moments and Rose was getting ready to accept that the silence was Wallflower rejecting their offer. “I’ll give it a shot. Sunset did say to branch out and remake myself.” Wallflower said softly. Rose grinned at her and jumped up and extended her hand. Wallflower hesitantly reached up and took it, being pulled up by Rose. Derpy placed the controller down grinning at a pouting Roseluck’s face. “Told you I’m the champ at Mario Kart,” Derpy teasingly gloated. Roseluck reached into a nearby bowl of popcorn and threw a kernel at Derpy and it got stuck in her hair. Wallflower watched shyly as she sat cross legged on the bed as Daisy brushed her hair. Lily sat against the wall reading a gardening magazine. “Do you want me to do your makeup, too Wally?” Daisy asked as she set down the hair brush. Wallflower shrugged. “I’ve never been into makeup nor confident enough. Never really saw a purpose for it,” Wallflower mumbled. Daisy beamed at her and reached for her makeup bag. “Shouldn’t you do that tomorrow? It’s two am, we’re going to bed soon,” Lily pointed out as she flipped a page of her magazine. “Why waste the makeup when she has to take it off before bed?” Daisy sighed and rolled her eyes. “Fine,” Daisy conceded. “We can do it tomorrow morning and we will make you feel spectacular.” She clapped her hands together. “If you want of course,” she hastily added. Wallflower slowly nodded. “We can try, I suppose. Nothing over the top though. I don’t want you wasting money or time on me,” Wallflower answered and felt a pair of eyes glaring at her. Rose stared at her sternly. “Wallflower...” Rose growled in a stern tone. “We’ve talked about this. No self deprecation, you’re an amazing person.” Wallflower sighed and nodded. “I’m sorry,” Wallflower mumbled. Rose shot up and hugged her, knocking Daisy on her back. “Don’t apologize. You have nothing to apologize for. It’s part of the process is accepting good things come to you,” Rose reassured her. Daisy and Lily looked at each other with raised eyebrows and confused expressions. “What exactly are we talking about?” Lily asked confused. “Why is she always sorry?” “No reason. Just part of her personality,” Derpy quickly piped in, earning her a grateful look from Wallflower. Rose released her and rubbed the back of her head. “Okay then,” Lily muttered. “I’m gonna go sleep now. It’s late.” She stood up and stretched. Daisy nodded her agreement and yawned. “Me too, I’m exhausted. I’ve been busy in my garden all day,” Daisy sighed dejectedly. “My sunflowers aren’t doing well.” She slid off the bed and into her sleeping bag on the floor with surprising ease. “That was actually pretty impressive,” Rose mumbled. She looked at Derpy and pointed a finger. “Tomorrow, me and you, Mario Kart rematch. Victory will be mine.” Derpy grinned. “You’re on. Hope you have tissues.” She teased. Wallflower raised an eyebrow at the two. “This is something I’d expect from Rainbow Dash and Applejack.” She said softly. Daisy gave a snort. “They’re always like this. They aren’t really that competitive, they just enjoy acting like it. Rainbow Dash is the most arrogant person I think I’ve ever met.” She explained. Wallflower nodded as she laid on the floor, using her backpack as a pillow. Daisy raised an eyebrow at her. “Aren’t you gonna use a sleeping bag? It gets cold in here.” She said. Wallflower looked around shyly. “I uh don’t have one.” She muttered. Rose rolled her eyes. “Why didn’t you ask for one? We have plenty.” Rose demanded. Wallflower pulled her legs up to her chest. “I didn’t want to be a burden. Don’t give me one, I’ll be fine with my backpack pillow.” Wallflower sighed. “Absolutely not. Like Daisy said, it gets cold in here. You are taking a sleeping bag and you are gonna love it.” Rose said firmly. Wallflower gazed at her dejectedly. “You’re not gonna give this up, are you?” Wallflower questioned. Rose shook her head sternly. “No. No, I’m not.” She agreed as she got up and walked to her closet. She finally found a sleeping and tossed it to Wallflower, who nervously accepted it and slid in. She got hit in the face by a pillow and heard nervous chuckling. “Sorry, thought you saw it coming.” Lily apologized from the doorway. Wallflower nodded. “It’s okay.” Wallflower mumbled. Lily gestured for Rose to come closer and she leaned to her sister’s ear. “She’s a quiet one.” Lily whispered. “Reminds me of Fluttershy.” Rose nodded. “Give her time, she’ll come out of her shell.” Rose whispered back. Lily gave her a unconvinced smile. “If you say so.” She said softly. “Sleep well, you four. It’s very nice to meet you, Wallflower. Hope to see you around more often.” She shut the door and headed to her own room. Rose turned to Derpy and smirked when she saw the girl was already asleep. “Muffins. Blueberry, chocolate, banana nut.” Derpy mumbled, drool coming out her mouth as she rolled over and brought a stuffed muffin plush closer to her. Rose, Daisy and Wallflower gave a soft snicker. “That girl and her muffins.” Wallflower smirked. Rose gave another quiet laugh. “I know right? She loves those things.” Rose said as she slid into her bed and closed her eyes. “Goodnight you guys.” A choruses of goodnights rang out and she identified Wallflowers soft voice, Daisy’s and a sleeping Derpy saying it in her sleep. She smiled and rolled her eyes at that. Roseluck spared a final glance around the room before she finally focused on falling asleep herself.
