What if Emziko was Canon?
The Missing Purple: Part 3 - Mystery of the Umbrum Part 1
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA few days later, Twilight would be told to go to the Crystal Empire to help Cadence defeat King Sombra. Later, the Main Six was boarding the train with Spike & Emziko in tow.
However, when they reached the train station at the frozen north, they encountered a strange anubian jackal holding a staff with books floating around his head; obviously using some kind of magic to do the later.
"Whoa, whose the guy floating the books?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I'll ask him." Twilight said before she approuched the jackal creature.
"Tell me something ponies, do you believe everything your told at face value?" The creature asked.
"...What?" Twilight was geniually confussed. The creature was turned around; not facing her.
"Verbal communication; and thus, word of mouth; is such an unreliable source of information. And not all written material can be considered the best way to record things either, since that material can often be destroyed, or rewritten." The creature said before he turned around. "Forgive me for not introducing myself right away. I am known as The Jackal; I am the guardian of the Universal Library; a Library that exists between the living world and the afterlife."
"Err, okay..." Twilight said. "I am--"
"Twilight Sparkle. Which makes your friends Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity. The two dragons with you are named Spike and Emziko. Am I wrong?" The Jackal said.
"Wh--how the--" Twilight was baffled.
"The Universal Library has many tales that I love to read. Your individual stories have been the most telling." The Jackal said.
"Wait, you mean you read about us in that library? How?!" Rainbow Dash asked.
"The Universal Library contains several ongoing stories that are magically written whenever events take place. But something is happening to this current tale that is altering it beyond the scope of the universal library. I know not why this is going on, so I came to investigate." The Jackal said.
"Back up though, what did you mean that not everything can be reliable?" Spike asked.
"What I meant is that there are two sides to every story. Find the only existing statue of Princess Amore; the rest will be revealed from there." The Jackal said; then in a poof of magic he vanished.
"Wonder what that's all about?" Emziko asked.
"Don't know, but he clearly knows something we don't know." Spike said. "I don't know about any of you, but I want to find that statue." He then began to head towards the Crystal Empire.
"Hey, I'll keep him company Twilight; you and your friends just focus on helping these Crystal Ponies as best you can." Emziko said and then went after Spike.
Within the castle, Spike & Emziko found the statue that was talked about, and followed a hidden starcase to a lone room. It's sole occupent, a lone book. "...What are the odds?" Spike asked.
"Of it being a book?" Emziko asked. "...Something tells me, this is no ordinary book though. I think this is someone's dairy."
"Right...should've realized that it'd be sterotypical for a female to recognize a dairy." Spike said as he grabbed the book.
"Hey, if that is a dairy, we'd be invading Princess Amore's privacy." Emziko said.
"True, but it could also provide a hint as to where King Sombra hid the Crystal Heart." Spike said and opened the diary up.
~~To those that find this dairy, know that I never wished for what happened to happen. I didn't want it at first, but...the voices. They speak darkness to me.~~
I honestly don't ever remember coming into this world the natural way. My first memory was being found outside the empire, and the only thing I could say was my own name: Sombra.
"...Wait, this isn't Princess Amore's dairy at all; this is Sombra's Dairy!" Spike said.
"Well this is strange. What's with the barely legiable text in the opening here?" Emziko asked.
"I can barely read it myself..." Spike said.
The two dragons would spend time reading the journal.
Author's Note
I won't be going through the entire journal of King Sombra; just know that outside of this opening bit, the journal is written the same at it is in the comic.
Speaking of that opening bit, yes the strike out part is meant to be illegible text.
