Chapter 1: The New Beginning
(Strong Male Narrator)
Avalar... birth place of the dragon raise. For countless generations, we lived in peace and harmony to our world among ourselves. Worshipped by one dragon who we called him 'The Champion', ruler of Avalar... and protector of our raise.
Until... it all changes when the dawn of darkness and flames has come to our very own eyes by the one rogue dragon who we feared most of all, 'The Dark Master'. The Dark Master begun his invasion with a command of his demon creatures, like an evil flood wash away all that stands in it's way. Our raise have their best to fight as one, but the enemies are far too many for us to defeat now. The demons leaves no survivors... only destructions and no mercy.
Just we believed when hope seemed lost, the Champion has come and slain the thousand army of demons by the power of the four elements. And now, the true battle between the Champion and the Dark Master has collided like we've never seen before. But then, the Champion knew the Dark Master could never be stopped, but he has only one way to end this war is to cast the ultimate power of the ancestors. On that moment on, the Dark Master is destroyed, and sending his army of demons to Tartarus where they belong.
The Champion have saved Avalar, but in the end... it cost his life when he made the ultimate sacrifice. We honor the memory of our fallen dragons and the Champion. For many years later, the nightmare is never ceased when the new threat has come. In the Dark Master's absence, he send out his most ruthless generals, led by his first born named... Scorch.
One by one, every last dragons have dared to challenged him, but none of them made it back alive. General Scorch's goal is to seek out the next Champion to do such beyond worst than death, we knew we cannot let that happen. The only best and last hope is to leave Avalar and sending them all safely to world we've never seen... or all of our raise... will be extinguish.
(Narrating End)
It all started in the dark cloudy day, Avalar becomes a dead wasteland full of fires and ashes, no plants and flowers be bloomed or any critters big and small has ever coming back. At the sky, there was an adult orange scale male dragon named Magma with red eyes, rose red spikes and chest, and horn like a bull. He flies in full speed while holding that appears to be a purple egg in his grasp. But out of nowhere, an arrow almost hitting him on the right side. The male dragon looked back none stopping to see what's behind him. There are three mandrill monkeys, riding a giant bat creatures to chase after the dragon while continuing shooting arrow.
The male dragon keep on dodging the multiple arrows. Until suddenly, one arrow have penetrated his lower back in pain. He's prepared to crash, but still holding open his wings to fall slow and cover the purple egg to protect it. As soon as he crash landed on the ground, Magma struggles to getting back up on his feet, but the enemies has got there much quicker while three Mandrills jumped out their bat creatures. "Hehehe, there's nowhere to run or fly away from us dragon." One mandrill said while the other twos laughing at Magma when the orange dragon growling at them. "Now handover that egg or say hello to my axe on your face."
"How about you say hello to my foot in your face!" A female voice shouted, figuring out where the source coming from. Until then, one mandrill quickly got kicked in the right cheek and get knocked the tooth out. What's in front of them was a young red dragoness with yellow spikes and chest, orange eyes, flapping ear, and a fire shape tip of her tail. "Okay, which one of you banana brains is next?"
"Oh you're gonna regret this brat!" Second mandrill said in anger while they starts to charge at her. But unexpectedly, a lightning zapped two mandrills. As soon as it's done, they collapse at the exact same time. But it wasn't just an actual lightning, it was another young yellow dragon with light blue spikes and chest, violet eyes, lightning shape tip of his tail and horn.
"Hey, I could've take them both down Zapp." She said in not amused while a young yellow dragon land on the ground.
"Sorry Flare, we both know I wasn't exactly the patient type for the lightning dragon like myself." Zapp said when Flare rolled her eyes, until they are now focused on Magma behind them.
"Magma you're hurt, please let us help you up." Flare said in worry while getting him back up on his feet and removing a broken arrow off his lower back.
"No need for worry Flare, but we must get to the lair quickly before more of them will come." Magma when they all take flight to the air. However, a young dragoness didn't notice Magma carried a purple egg on his hand.
"Wait, is that an egg, then what about the rest of them?" Flare asked.
"The eggs... were smashed." Magma regrettably answered to them, causing them gasp to hear a terrible news. "I was supposed to save them all, but the enemies got there first before me. And now, this is the one left that survived."
"What are we going to do, while more of them are ahead of us?" Zapp asked.
"I know what we all must do once we get back to the lair, let's go." Magma said.
....
Seven minutes later at the largest hidden cave, there are two more young dragons guarding outside to make sure if any friend or foe is approaches. The first was a young buff moss green dragon with orange spikes and chest, horn like a mountain goat, and a mace rock tip of tail. And the second was a young lightest blue dragoness with white spikes and chest, short smooth horn, and snowflake shape tip of tail. "Any sign of them Stone?" She asked.
"No Frost, it is too cloudy and foggy to see anything ahead." Stone answered, until he spotted something in the sky. In their eyes, they now see three dragons they recognize, coming down to approaches to the ground. As soon as they're on the ground, Frost and Stone ran towards to regroup with them. "Magma, Flare, and Zapp, it is good to see you all made it back in one piece."
"Like wise, but our time is at the essence, we must head inside now." Magma said while everyone is attempts to go inside the lair with a speed rush.
"What is going on?" Frost asked while she and Stone approaches to them.
"More enemies are on their way, it won't be long for them get here. But they're not alone, he is coming." Zapp said when they all fear to know who is coming for them.
"... Scorch." Stone said to dare say that name. "If that's true, then we have to be prepared to the fight."
"No, we cannot fight." Magma denied which makes four young dragons confused once they've made it out the backside where there are stones shape like a catacomb with ancient simples on that appears to the gateway. "So many dragons have made their sacrifice for our home world, I will not put you all at high risk, but there is only one option that must be done." Magma pulling an old scroll out and then opening it. "I found the realm it is well hidden... Equestria, once I cast the gate portal to open, you all will travel there safely."
"Wait, leaving Avalar?! But Magma, this is our home and we have to fight for it!" Flare said to rejected the idea of abandoning their own home world they were born.
"It is the only way. if you chose to remain here, then our raise... are truly finished." Magma said, giving them a thought of two choices until they now understand and nodded to the end. The adult dragon takes his stand in front of the gateway and began to cast an ancient draconic language he learned from the scroll. "GRAHU.... ZIMN... FEHRAH... MAKROM!" The gateway's simples has been glow by the ancient language and the portal to Equestria is opened, but for how long will it last before it closes. "The portal can only hold long enough, it is for your chance to get through."
"What about you, aren't you gonna come with us." Flare asked, but she never expected the look on the adult dragon's face.
"No... I will remain here and then I'll destroy the gateway once you all get through." Magma said to regret telling four young dragons what he'll do.
"But we can't leave you alone, it's too risky. Without you, I-." Flare said in worry for her only mentor, until Magma had stopped her words when he placed his hands on her shoulders.
"I understand it is a difficult decision, but I know you and the others will continue your journey together. I have taught you all everything I know, and you all will walk each other a different path... without me." Magma said when he and look each other's eyes. And then, he pass the purple egg to her arms and a scroll. "Promise me you will protect this egg and raised it well. It is now your time to lead the others, Flare." They each other's foreheads for their final moments to come while the others are very sad to know they'll have to leave their beloved mentor behind.
*BOOM*
The explosions coming from behind them that the lair's been attacked by the hundreds of mandrills in bat creatures in the sky. Magma growled at them and spew out three fire balls. "Get in to the portal, I'll hold them off as long as I can, go now!" Magma said while he takes his battle stands, looking behind to see his young dragon students Flare, Frost, Zapp, and Stone for one last time. "May our ancestors look after you, may them look after us all." He prayed for the young dragons since they made it through, turning around to be ready to fight for them... and ready to die for them.
Mandrills dropped down to the ground, surrounded to prepare to attack the adult dragon. But it never matters to him if he's outnumbered, he will fight till the very end. Two mandrills made their first moves by jumping towards the adult dragon, Magma simply quicked to grabs their faces and slam their heads to the ground really hard. Another mandrill attack from the back, but never expected when a dragon's tail smacked him. It is now Magma's turn to made his moves by charging at them throw out punches and uppercuts. He knew there were too many of mandrills to take down, but more are coming. Until lastly, Magma unleashed his magma lava on the ground to risen the line fire to stop mandrills tracks.
"I still have plenty more firepower to come, if you dare to step forward." Magma said in exhaustion. But suddenly, seeing the smirks on their faces and clear a path. He knew it could only mean one thing when he growled a little. The sound of foot steps coming from the dark cave. What appeared out of the shadow, was a dark gray adult dragon in chest scratched armor with many horns and the eye of dragon simple on shoulder armor. Red eyes like a terrifying fire and a tail tip of a scorpion stinger. "General Scorch." Magma said his name in front of him when an evil dragon walk through the fire.
"So... you must be the Avalar's greatest warrior. Such a one dragon army stands against many, how delicious it is." General Scorch said with a scary tone. "If you wish your life to be spared, then tell me, where is the egg and the other dragons?"
"I'd would rather die than telling you." Magma said to refuse to tell the evil dragon where the egg is, but general Scorch makes a smile on his face and chuckles.
"Hmhmhm it pleases me to hear." Scorch said, taking his battle stands to wait for Magma's first move. Magma began to charge at him in full speed, throwing his punches on Scorch's face.
Two other mandrills wanted to join in to help general Scorch, but the big mandrill stopped them. "Stay where you are, let our general have his fun." He said when he believed Scorch will win.
However, an evil dragon grabbed both Magma's wrist and moving them down. Magma tries to struggle to break free his wrist, but Scorch is too strong to let go. The worst part, his tail's stinger strike to the orange dragon's left peck, screaming in agony. And lastly, Scorch releases his dark violet fire on Magma's chest when the stinger is removed and letting him collapse to the ground. "You and all the other dragons have made a grave mistake to challenge me."
He reaches his hand to grabbed Magma's horn and break it to add as a trophy with the rest of the horns he collected in shoulder armor. General Scorch noticed the portal is still there from the very beginning, he knew that the purple and the young dragons have entered it. "Its a small world after all. Commander, you and your troopers will go into the portal, kill the younglings, and fetch me the egg." Scorch commanded the big mandrill.
"As your command my lord. Troopers, to the portal!" The commander shouted to the mandrills while they followed the big one and entered the portal to Equestria, along with bat creatures they'd ride on.
Magma heavily opened his eyes when he witnessed to see many mandrills going in the portal. He knew he wouldn't let that happen when he's struggle to lift himself up and unleashed his one last fireball at the stone gate. The explosion blew out a few mandrills away and blinded general Scorch's eyes. "No..." Scorch said when the portal... has disappeared.
"You're too late Scorch, the unborn champion hatchling is now far from your evil grasp. Your father, the dark master is forever stay dead." Magma said when he breathed heavily, but Scorch immediately blasted him again to make sure he's dead. Magma has drew his last breath on this final days, his great sacrifice will not be forgotten to the young dragons who saved them both.
....
Somewhere in the dark place. "You failed to retrieved the egg." The demonic voice spoke to general Scorch when he's kneel down. What talking to Scorch is a dark firing red eyeball who is known... as the Dark Master himself.
"Worry not my lord, we will hunt them down and retrieve the new champion no matter which realm they are." General Scorch said to promise his formless father that he'll never rest until he does.
"Good, once I am resurrected in new form body, I... will rain surpreme." The Dark Master said in his rule, laughing at the end.
....
(Elsewhere in Equestria)
In the middle of forest, the portal from the gateway has opened in the air, scaring the forest animals away from it. Four young dragons burst out of it and landed terribly on the ground. As soon as they got up on their feet, they're eyes widened to witness the world they've never seen, but it is like similar as Avalar before. "So... this is Equestria." Flare first to say.
"Yeah, I've never thought I'd see the gorgeous sky ever again, and the nature is alive too." Frost said, almost letting out her tear.
"This is where we will safe in this world." Stone said while looking around while he nodded, but sad when they all know their mentor gone forever.
"So... what happens now, it's not like we just stand there and mourn." Zapp said when the others believes that the yellow young dragon has a point, they cannot stay there for much longer because they never know a threat is coming to them, until now.
The mandrills with bat creatures bursts out the portal one at a time and landed on the ground in foot. Four young dragons gasp in shock to see the enemies, believing they've been followed while taking their battle stands together. The big mandrill commander spotted the young dragons and seeing Flare holding the purple egg in her arms. "There's that egg, attack!" The commander shouted by ordering the mandrills to get them while charging.
But suddenly, Stone unleashed his earth breath to make the rock spikes to stop their tracks. "If you all want the egg, then you're gonna get through us!" Stone said while he, Frost, and Zapp defending Flare with an egg. "Flare, get the egg out of here while we're holding them off as long as we can!"
"What, I can't leave you guys, not now or ever!" Flare said to refuse to leave them.
"Don't worry about us we'll be alright, just go!" Frost said while she unleashed her ice breath to freeze two mandrills.
Flare hate to regret to leave them when they fight while she take flight in the air and fly away from the fight. But suddenly, three mandrills in bat creatures chasing after her, until Zapp saw and came to her rescue. "Oh no you don't!" He said while releases his lightning breath at the enemies and finally took them down. Now, Zapp going to join with Stone and Frost in the battle against many mandrills with best they can.
....
Meanwhile, Flare landed to the ground with the rest of the trees and hide to make sure she didn't follow. As soon as she looked around, no mandrills in bat creatures has come, but she feels regret to leave them behind just like they leave Magma. "Why am I even doing, I can't let Zapp, Stone, and Frost battle them, I need to go back." she planned to back, but she realized that going there means to put the purple egg in danger. However, the river had caught her attention, going on different direction to the west. Flare had the idea to save the egg is by sending it away. She sees the log branch and break a big piece to use as a float for the egg.
Lastly, she lay it down gently in that floating log piece and covered it with some big leafs. "I'm very sorry for this little one, but it's the only way. One day, I will find you no matter where you go." Flare said while rubbing the egg and then... she pushed softly the log piece to let the river taking the egg. This is a tough choices, but she knew it must be done in order to protect it. She's flying away to go back the others to help.
And now, the purple egg riding on the log piece down to the river nice and slow. Until, the water starting to get rough, causing the log going faster and bumping those rocks left to right. But suddenly, the water flipped the log to get the egg jumped out and landed in the water. It's a good thing the egg can float without a log to hold, but it was gobbled up by a big catfish as food. But the big catfish realized the egg is too hard as a rock, so it spits out and let it go while swam away.
Couple of hours later, the egg still flows in the river for far longer. Every critters and animals see it pass by, wondering where did that come from, but never matters. The water fall pulled the egg to let it fall down all the way. However, it was saved by an bald eagle when it swiped to grab an egg. Flying to the west across the canyons and the seas with much quicker in no time.
A few minutes later, the bald eagle have arrived to the tall mountain where it has its nest to place the purple egg. But the bald eagle accidentally dropped the egg by missed the nest and falling down. Somehow it was save landed by a tree when it rolled down to the river. Now it streamed gently to the kingdom Canterlot, a place where everypony live in peace. No pony ever noticed the purple egg was flowing in the river, except mostly somepony did see it. The egg entered tunnel that leads inside the castle yard.
Finally, the egg had stopped its track when it land in the grass. The sound of hoof steps coming approach it, and it was a white alicorn princess Celestia herself. "Oh my, what have we here?" She said when she saw the purple egg over there and already noticed that it's the dragon. Princess Celestia wondering how did that magnificent got here all the way, but it doesn't matter to her when she decided to take care of it in her leg. Princess Celestia getting closer to it, and said. "If you can hear me in there, you are quite very special little one, very special indeed."
And this is how it all began. Who knows what future is in store for it when the sun princess has taken care of this magnificent unborn hatchling dragon. But this is the beginning of The Tales Of Spike.

Chapter 9: Deep Freeze Part 2
Inside the Dark Armies snowy Fortress, Spike and Sparx snuck their way to look for all yaks that those Mandrills have kept them imprison. They feel like they were being watch like a predator stalking its prey. In order to avoid it, is to be stealthy and quietly as soon as possible from the unfriendly foes, even flying is out of options to get easily caught in the air around the fortress. Looking around to find any sign of danger or distress is very difficult because of the strong snowy wind before they arrived to their eyes while headed towards to their path. "Boy, these guys have a bad ways to build this place, am I right Sparx?" Spuke said and his dragonfly friend nodded. Suddenly, Spike hears the clanging metal sound coming from their distant, rushing and seeing four cages locks three yaks each. "There they are Sparx, let's go get them out of here." He said while running towards them and Sparx is following him.
Unfortunately, four mandrills popped out of nowhere in the snow and surrounding the purple dragon to make sure he won't escape them. "Look what we got here, the Champion itself comes to our territory, it must be our lucky day." One mandrill said with a smirk. "What do you say boys, shall we treat our unwelcome guest?"
Four Dark Armies is about to attack on Spike, but Sparx quickly flashes himself to blind the mandrill's eyes and stop their charging at the purple dragon. Spike now has his chance to make his move by kicking one mandrill away and shoot his fireball to another. Which leaves two more mandrills behind him while they recover their eye sights. They are very mad for that stunt the dragonfly done and then throwing spears at them. Spike and Sparx moved out the way and the purple dragon takes his turn once again by running at them to give one third mandrill an upper cut. Which just leaves only one left, causing it to nervously chuckled to be afraid of Spike. "Do you wanna taste my fist too?" Spike said to the last mandrill, but it fled away from him. Spike knew he couldn't let a mandrill get away to warn the Dark Armies in the fortress. Which is why he make a snowball and aiming at it and actually gets a perfectly hit with a single throw.
Now that the fight is finished, Spike and Sparx now headed towards the yaks in cage to free them. "Are you yaks alright?" Spike asked while trying to break the lock.
"YES WE YAKS FINE, THANKS TO DRAGON." A female yak gratefully said to him, until and lock is broken and three yaks are free one at a time. "BUT MORE YAKS ARE DANGER BY MONKIES."
"Do you know where we can find them?" Spike asked.
"YES, THAT WAY." Male yak answered while pointed on the left for directions that leads to which appears to be an entrance to the other side.
"Got it, now you guys get out of here and join Yerg outside." Spike said while the yaks nodded and then take their leave to go out to join chief Yerg. And with that, Spike and Sparx have done it Twelve yaks, but there few more of them needed to be found and get their freedom.
While now continuing on, always staying alert on the watchful eyes of threats everywhere while sneaking. But he and Sparx both already knew that there's nothing to stop him and Sparx, no matter what challenges of difficulty to them. When they made it to the other side, Spike sees seven cages that holds three yaks just like the ones back then. And some other yaks were forced to do what the Dark Armies told them to. The purple dragon was never expected to see an large base of operation than the ones before and also so many Dark Armies he couldn't count. "Work faster smelly hair balls!" A shouted came from below which cause Spike's attention. "I said faster or I will whip you more, MUSH!" One mandrill with a electrical whipping on the snowy ground in aggressive on those poor yaks while pull the big wheel that gives a tall obelisk an electricity. But it wasn't the only one, two more of obelisks each on different locations that's now fully charged without yaks there.
Spike gripping his hands tightly because he is really mad to see this. "I can't believe they're doing this to those innocent yaks, I'm starting to understand why Flare hate them so much." He said with an aggressive attitude, feeling like he's going to march right there and teach those mandrills a lesson they'll never forget. However, he knew it's too risky to put yaks in danger while calm himself down. "There's gotta be a way to help them, but how?" The purple dragon is thinking while looking around to find a way, unless... he needs is a distractions for the Dark Armies, and the answer is right over to the left. Two loaded catapults gave him the best idea for distractions.
For a few short minutes, Spike moved the catapults to aim directly at two electrical obelisks when he's already calculated. "Okay Sparx, once I launch the catapults, were gonna go down there and get all yaks out." He said to his dragonfly friend with a plan and Sparx nodded to agree. Spike placed both of his hands and begin launching the stone with a count down. "Three... two... one." He now pulled the trigger and the marble stones are sending out flying.
Two marble stones destroyed two obelisks in pieces, it causes the entire Dark Armies to startled and reacted of those destructions. "What is going on?!" One mandrill asked.
"Sir, the two obelisks are destroyed, we could be under attack!" Second mandrill shouted to answer.
"Then find the one who is responsible and bring it to me!" One mandrill shouted by ordering the other Dark Armies when they saluted and scatter around the fortress. It is now the only matter of time for Spike and Sparx to make their way down to the yaks.
By the time they get here in time, they appeared themselves to the yaks in chains in front of them. The yaks gasp in shock when they see the purple dragon. "Don't worry, Yerg send us here to help you." Spike said to explain to them until the yaks started to trusted the purple dragon when he say their chief's name. "Okay, now I need something to get you guys off these chains." He looked for something strong to break those chains that shackle yak's hoof leg. Sadly, there's no a key to unlock it or something hard or sharp for it. But suddenly, he did not notice that there is an actual key at the table. Sparx quickly flew to go grab a key and then come right back to the purple dragon. "Thank you very much Sparx." His dragonfly drop the key to Spike's hand and then he starts to unlock the chain shackles. The yaks were very grateful to him when they all removing those uncomfortable metal wristbands. One by one, Spike managed to unlock all the cages to get them all out for few short minutes or less, until now he completely free them while all the yaks quickly getting out the fortress without noises.
Meanwhile, the Dark Armies are investigating to find out what something to destroy the obelisks. "Well... can someone tell me what causes this destruction?!" One mandrill with electric whip asked in aggressive, until a second mandrill approaches to it.
"Sir, it appears that it was a stone marble that destroys it." Second mandrill answered to showing it to him.
"WHAT, then who's in charge of the catapults?!" One mandrill asked again in angry tone.
"Uhh... no one sir." The Dark Armies answered all together while they shook their heads.
"If none of you are responsible for, then..." one mandrill's words cut off, because it figured it out that it was. "Distraction!" It turns around to see the surrounding, and then it gasp to caught the yaks from the distance escaping. That's not the only thing, it also caught the purple dragon helping them. "The Champion!"
Back at Spike and Sparx, they're helping the yaks to find their way out. But suddenly, Spike hears the sound of the Dark Armies are coming right at him that gives a young dragon quite a shock. "Uh oh." He said. As soon as the yaks are finally out, that only leaves to Spike and Sparx chose to stay here for two reasons, take down the Dark Armies and rescue Flare's friend. "Fair warning banana brains, I put a few games with you."
"Who are you calling 'banana brains' you fire breathing brat, get him boys!" One mandrill with a electric whip said in aggressive tone while lashing to the snowy ground, ordering the Dark Armies to attack the young dragon.
The began to charge right at Spike in full force, but they've made a huge mistake because Spike take flight much quicker than them and then accidentally crash on to each other. It was really funny to Spike and Sparx when they laugh at them to their stun. Suddenly, the arrow almost hit him out of nowhere with a shocking reaction. It's now Spike's turn for payback for trying to shoot him down, taking a breath and spewed out a fireball and managed to takes down three archery Dark Armies. While he comes down to the ground, the purple dragon is now ready for combat against many of the Dark Armies, it is a good thing that he learned it from Flare back then. "Alright, which one of you is next to get your face hurt?" He asked them while taking his battle stands. One by one, this young dragon simply taken them all down at once with a few punches, kicks, and blasting them with his green fire. One mandrill with a whip did not like the sight seeing the others are beaten by one single teenage dragon until he's the only one left against Spike.
"Fine, I guess I'll do it myself." One mandrill said while jump to stepping in front of Spike and put a few moves with a electric whip lashes. "Come on dragon, let's see what you can stand to face me."
"Bring it." Spike said. It is now one on one battle between the purple dragon and one mandrill. Spike first starts to make his move by running toward it and goes with a punch, but one mandrill makes a reflex by flipping to the left side and then lashes on Spike left arm. The purple dragon can feel the pain of the electric sting from the whip. Spike gasp to see another lash of whip coming right at him, but luckily he avoided backwards much quicker than that. Each and every time of dodging the whip attack is alot harder than this young dragon thought, most of it he got hit a little to feel the electric sting of it. In the end, Spike is caught in the electric whip around his neck, cause him to get gagged in pain by its electric sting all over his body and making Sparx grow more worry.
"Hehehe, after I defeat you dragon, general Scorch will reward me for anything I desire if I bring you to him." One mandrill said while enjoying the show of seeing the purple dragon in the world of hurt. However, Spike grabbed the whip with his bare hands and getting back up on his feet. "What the..."
Spike feels something from his inside like it's about to come out of his mouth. He takes a deep breath and then... he unleashed the lightning breath at the mandrill. One mandrill can feel the biggest electricity sting than Spike had. When this young dragon stopped, a mandrill collapsed backwards to the snowy ground, leaving it unconscious of defeat and the Dark Armies had to retreat. Sparx go to him while Spike catching his breath to recover. "Yeah I'm okay Sparx, just give for few seconds to catch my breath." He said, but he did not expected something new. "I didn't know I can do that, but its amazing." Spike looking around to find something to try the lightning breath, until he sees the barrel to try. Once again, he took a deep breath and releases the lightning out of his mouth, causing to destroy the barrel to explode. "First my fire, and now I have the electricity, can't wait to tell everypony back home. But first Sparx, we need to find Flare's friend."
Spike and Sparx looked everywhere for any sign Avalarian dragon, but now they found nothing but this is empty place. They come back to the spot where he's fighting and approaches to the unconscious mandrill to wake him up. As soon as it wakes up, one mandrill is screaming in terrified because it was tied up in the rope and Spike holding him upside down in the air. "No please, put me down and I'll do anything." He said to beg.
"I will get you down, if you tell me where is the dragon like me did you guys kept here?" Spike asked with serious face and Sparx nodded.
"I... I can't, my masters will be furious if we they found out." One mandrill said to refuse in nerve.
"Okay, then I'll drop you on three." Spike said to warned him, slowly moving his fingers one at a time. "One... two..."
"AAAHHH, okay you win." One mandrill shouted in fear, accepting to tell the purple dragon where is the Avalarian dragon. "The yellow dragon is in the bunker, right over there." It pointed at the metal door down there.
"Thank you, now I can let you go." He said while he now throw the mandrill down hill from behind, watching him rolled down into a huge snowball until he's gone for good. It was pretty funny for Spike and Sparx to see. Now Spike and Sparx flew back down to the snowy ground where the metal bunker door is. "This is it Sparx, let get Flare's friend get of there."
The young dragon began to open the bunker door with his full strength because it is heavy. By the time he managed to open wide, his dragonfly friend goes in first to give a light so that they can see everything. To their eyes, they found a yellow dragon who appears to be Zapp in slumber with chains on his wrists. But then, the adult dragon's eyes is starting open, meaning that he's about to wake up. Zapp gasp with eyes widened to see who is in front of him, because he know something about Spike with a smile. "Do my eyes deceive me, I've recognize the color your scales when you were an egg." Zapp said.
"I'm glad you noticed, Flare knew you'd be here." Spike said while helping him removing the chains off his wrists.
"Flare? Haha, thank the ancestors she would be alive." Zapp happily said while getting back up on his feet, but he forgot to introduce himself to this young dragon. "The name Zapp, the lightning dragon."
"Hi Zapp, I'm Spike and this is Sparx." Spike also introduce himself and his dragonfly friend. "What do you say we should leave this place, right?"
"Good idea kid." Zapp said to agreeing with him and then taking flight in the air to leave the fortress.
....
Meanwhile, the yaks is happy to be reunited with each other to return their home, even chief Yerg is also happy for see the yaks are coming back. Suddenly, Yerg spotted two flying figures which appears to be Spike, Sparx, and Zapp while coming to them to the snowy ground. A chief yak approaches to them and thankfully said. "SPIKE, YOU BROUGHT BACK YAKS TO YERG, YAKS IS GRATEFUL TO SPIKE."
"You're welcome Yerg, and those monkeys won't be bothering you and the others ever again since we scare them off." Spike said. "I guess we should be get going now."
"VERY WELL THEN, WE WILL MEET AGAIN FRIEND." he said while seeing Spike, Sparx, and Zapp take flight back in the air and then fly away. Yerg gives them a biggest wave before they leaving. "WE YAKS WON'T NEVER FORGET SPIKE!"
"Neither will I!" Spike shouted to wave back at him. "You ready Zapp?"
"Lead the way Spike and I'll followed you." Zapp nodded, and then they now head to the north to go back the hidden cave where Flare is.
And so, Spike and Sparx successfully completed their mission of rescuing Zapp the lightning dragon. So that makes one down and two more to be rescued from the clutches of general Scorch and the Dark Armies. Since now Spike has the lightning within, it is only a matter of time for Zapp to teach him just as Flare did.

The Tales Of Spike - New Beginning
Present Day
The sun rises on the horizon to a brighter day in the morning. The birds chirping and flying around in the air, but it all started at Canterlot, a place of all... every creatures. Ponies, Changlings, Yaks, Griffins, Dragons, Hippogriffs, Kirins, and every creatures lived together at peace. It has been happening for four years since the Mane Six defeated Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow by the power of Friendship. And now, alot has changed, but most importantly... so does everyone.
Inside the castle at the throne room was Princess Twilight Sparkle, a new ruler of Equestria discuss with a counselors of planning a festival called 'The Harmony Festival' for six days. "And that would be all for it, thank you for all your acceptance." Princess Twilight Sparkle said when the other counselors have bowed their heads and take their leave the throne room.
As soon as she sat down her throne, she hears the door opened that someone is entering. The one who appears to be a fourteen year old royal advisor Spike the dragon and his friend Sparx arrived in the throne room, this dragon has grown up for the last four years, and he is tall as pony size. "Hey Twilight sorry we're late, being in charge of the festival decorations was not easy task, but except with all the taste tests is good enough." He said while he sits next to Twilight. However his voice has changed a little.
"At least I have my best royal advisor in the whole Equestria, including you Sparx." She said, trying to cheer him up and it worked.
"Anyways, I've managed to send all the invitation on every kingdom we know, especially for our friends." Spike said to remind that he did what Twilight asked him to do. "I can't wait to see them again, it feels like it was... forever ago."
"Actually Spike, it's only been half a month." Twilight said to giving him a correct answer. "But I have to agree with you there, I sure hope we'll be spending time together."
"Yeah, me too." He agreed with her. "So how are you doing with your 'secret project' going on?"
"Well to be honest, it's not going well, because it takes alot of magic than mine to ignite it, but I'm getting there for sure." Twilight answered to explain to the teenage dragon, but a little confused of what exactly is she working on.
However, the door opens and a counselor give news to the Princess of friendship. "Your majesty, the next meeting will be in short time."
"Thank you, I will be right there." She nodded while the counselor bowed and take his leave. "Spike, it looks like our conversation will have to wait."
"Ah don't worry about it. Besides, I was gonna go back to deal with the Harmony Festival decorations, see you later." Spike said while he and Sparx are leaving the throne room.
"Okay Spike, good luck." Twilight said while she waved at him. As soon as he left, Princess Twilight turned her head smiling when she sees Spike has grown up and not longer a baby dragon he once was. It happens to everyone when they'll getting older. In her heart, she feels that she misses the old day, but there's nothing to go back to the past and move forward to the future.
....
Meanwhile, Spike and Sparx have arrived back to the place where the festival is, seeing the workers are building anything for it. The design are doing some decorations on the stage and making costumes for the play. And lastly, random ponies are practicing for the play. Everything is all good as according to plan for now, until there's one problem when one unicorn mare approaches to the teenage dragon. "Oh royal advisor thank goodness you have come, I require your help!" She said in accent, but desperate.
"Whaow calm down miss, what's seems to be a problem?" He asked when he tried to calm her down.
"While ago, I've ordered more fabrics for the play, but I forgot to pick those up at the post office, would you please bring them to me?" She said.
"Sure, I'll get them back to you in no time." Spike nodded to accept the unicorn mare's needs.
"Thank you royal advisor, you're one of the good ones." Unicorn mare gratefully said. "But before you go, tell them madam Shiny Jewel has send you."
"Okay, be right back." He said while he flies away with Sparx, headed to the Canterlot Post Office in short minutes.
....
By the time he and Sparx have arrived to a post office and head inside, but in his eyes, he sees one poster pony taking a nap like he's been waiting for somepony else to come, until now. "Um... excuse me." He tried to wake him up, but it didn't work when he's still asleep. So, he decided to speak a little louder. "Hey, wake up!"
The shout really startled a poster pony up, causing him to lose balance and then collapse to the floor. As soon as he getting back up, he sees Spike right in front of him, waiting for stallion's response. "Hello there, what can I help you with?" He said while sitting back on his seat.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up the package that belongs to Shiny Jewel, she send me to get it for her." Spike answered.
"Shiny Jewel you say, hmm... ah yes, I have it right in the back, give me a moment please." Poster pony said while he's headed to the back where all the mails and packages are. He then showing the box that have a fabrics what the unicorn mare need. "Here you go sir, have a great day."
"Thanks." Spike thankfully said to him while walk out to the door and then fly away to head back to the place. Hopefully the poster pony didn't over slept if anypony is coming in.

Spike and Sparx finally came back here and looking for a mare, until he saw her at the stage. He landed on the ground and said. "Ms. Jewel, I brought your package here."
"Ah perfect, this is just what I want to design a costumes for the play, thank you very much royal advisor." Shiny Jewel gratefully said to the teenage dragon.
Royal advisor Spike has done his first task, but there will be more assist he and Sparx should do while they look around. "Okay Sparx, we got that help done, I wonder if what else we should do next." Spike said to his dragonfly friend. However, they spotted three pony workers trying palance the sign. Spike decided to go over there and asked if they need their help. "Hey fellas, do you guys wanna help getting that up?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, we do need one more helping hooves with a perfect level for the sign that's all, if you wouldn't mind." One pony worker said when he needed one favor from Spike. The teenage dragon accepted when he headed to the sign and hold of it. "Okay... move a little to the right, more up, no wait down."
A pony worker is starting to make Spike loses his patience when he hears him say to move the sign anywhere, until he had enough. "Um sir, would it be a good time for I don't know, make up your mind please." Spike said when he's not amused.
"Oh, uh... sorry about that, this is good enough now." Pony worker apologized. The sign is now perfect place to the entrance for everyone yo get through. "Thanks for all your help there kid, we owe you one."
"It was no big deal, I'm just your friendly neighborhood royal advisor." Spike said after each of them wave each other and walk away. "Another job well done." Spike and Sparx have there second successful task as assistant as he always is for his life. They headed to the stage to see if everything is going nice and good. Until suddenly, he hears the sound of somepony complaining. As soon as he find the source, he saw a mare writing down script for the play, but seeing her erased the paper with the pencil really hard with aggressive look on her face. The teenage dragon knew he would had to checked up on that mare. "Hey miss, are you okay?"
"Hello there, and no I'm not okay." She answered with frustration and disappointment tone. "I'm getting really frustrated to figure out the story about Twilight Sparkle and her friends. But don't know what actually is their story."
"I can help you with that. Besides, I know Twilight Sparkle and her friends better than anyone." Spike said, remembering the time of his whole life with Twilight and the others because he's been there with them on their adventure, most of it times.
"You do? Then you must be Spike the dragon, the princess of friendship royal advisor. This is excellent, I can finally know all the details of their story." She said in excitement while grabbing a blank notes and pencil. "Please, tell me everything from the beginning and the end."
"Okay, it all started long time ago." Spike said when he sits down the chair and tell the story of Twilight and her friends. Every few minutes or so, the teenage dragon explains every single storylines of their adventures, hobbies, and everything. Most of every time there are good moments and bad moment, but it happens to the rest of them. The mare has completely understand when she wrote down every last few pages of the blank notes. In the end, she's finished it. "And that's it, that is a whole story I know."
"This is incredible, now this would be a perfect opportunity for the festival, thank you so much." She gratefully said.
"All in the days work." Spike said while he and Sparx headed out. "Well Sparx, I think that's all of it, now we can finally relax for one day." His dragonfly friend agree of his choice, looking around at everypony happy smile with their day all thanks to the princess of friendship royal advisor.

A few hours later in the afternoon, Princess Twilight and Spike are having dinner in the room, relieving after all the schedule in one day. "Spike, I've heard you helped a lot of ponies at the festival. And I have to say, I'm very proud of you and Sparx." Princess Twilight said happily.
"Ah it was nothing, I had to do it as an assistant." Spike said when he and Sparx hear that word coming from his older sister while stuffing his mouth with gems. The teenage dragon had a thought for a few moments on his mind. "Hey Twilight, ever since you took me in and raised me for many years, I couldn't stop thinking where do I come from and... you know what, nevermind. Sometimes its hard to know the truth."
"Oh Spike, I understand what you were saying, but I promise you will have answers someday." Princess Twilight said to comfort him, making the teenage dragon smiled. "But look on the bright side, you have home and you have me and everypony, this is where you always meant to be."
"Yeah... you're right, thanks for the pep talk Twi, I need that." Spike gratefully said to feel anything better.
"It was my pleasure." She said while wiped her mouth with her handkerchief. "Rest assured, tomorrow will be a great day for the rest of us."
"Yeah. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?" Spike said in a little excitement, but never know he made a mistake to say such cursed words.

At the night time far away west to the unknown place of foggy mountains. There were many of thousands lights coming from the big fortress, a fortress that is full of... mandrills. These creatures were grew many of them, working on building Cannons, armors, weapons, and cages for every predatory species around Equestria, even for dragons too. Their aggressive training are more strong, but lack of combat of their skills.
*Deep Horn Sound*
The sound of gjallarhorn has brought all the mandrills to their attentions, meaning that they all come to gather. Running, swimming, and climbing all together to head to a place where they were call upon by their commander. The big mandrill began to give a speech while all the mandrills are listening. "My fellow apes, hear me!" The commander shouted. "For fourteen years, we were stranded in this pitiful world so called Equestria, hiding our existins in the shadows from those... miserable creatures. Bot now, the time has come to welcoming our generals 'The sons of the Dark master'. With them, we will cleanse the world with death and fire!" The big mandrill revealed the four simples that's from the gateway back in Avalar, causing all the mandrills shouted in excitement and pounding their chests. Two mandrills bringing the stone gateway with four simples they've made. The commander began to speak the chanting words. "GRAHU.... ZIMN... FEHRAH... MAKROM!"
And so, the stone gateway has been activated by the calls of those simple when which of them glowed one by one, and the portal has been opened. The entire mandrills, even the commander kneel to their knees and lower their heads closely to the ground, seeing four figures approaches almost out of the portal with glowing red eyes. The Sons of the Dark Master... is coming.

The Tales Of Spike - New Beginning
Chapter 3: Harmony Festival
In the foggy mountains where the mandrill's fortress, general Scorch is the first to step out of the portal with a sinister smirk on his face, but he wasn't alone when there are three more who are also the dark master's offsprings, Sorch's siblings stepping out the portal right behind him. The first one is a huge male dark brown dragon with blind eye and metal rib cage chest armor. The second is a slender black dragoness with a long razor sharp claws and a beauty look on her face. And lastly, the fourth is a young violet teenage dragoness, like same age as Spike. The commander approaches to them and said in greeting his generals with a bow. "My generals, it has been too long, I welcome you all in our humble prayers."
"Indeed it has commander." General Scorch said. "Tell me, have you and your followers successfully capturing four dragons and the Champion in your grasp?"
The commander was stumped in fear to hear a question that general Scorch ask, afraid to say the news from a long ago. "Y-yes... we've got them all, but... one dragon... has escaped in our finger tips... and the egg is... nowhere to be found." He said to regret telling him the truth, he causing the dark gray dragon to growl in anger and gripping his hands tightly. "But not to worry, I can assure you that we- GRAGH!"
Suddenly, the commander's words were cut off because general Scorch swiftly grabbed his neck and lifting him up slowly. "You dare failed the mission what you're supposed to do, you sicken me. Not only have you failed me, you also failed the Dark Master too." General Scorch angrily said.
"N-no my general, I swear on my life it will never happen again." The commander begged him, but he made him even more angrier while his siblings are watching like they enjoying the show. Until, general Scorch let go of the commander's neck. Coughing and heavy breathing to catch his breath of knowing of his place. He should be very lucky that his general spared his life.
"You should count yourself lucky. Now that we are here, I will issue the command." General Scorch said. He sees a huge map of Equestria, seeing all the circles and cross mark of every locations that the mandrills have been. "Equestria huh, give me every informations I should know all."
"Of course my lord." The commander said when he's headed next to him, clearing his throat and began to report. "After the time we come to this world, we have captured three dragons, but one escape along with the egg. We kept searching for many years for them, but nowhere to be seen. So we send three dragon to three locations where they're never escape in our fortresses."
"And yet you mere monkeys still failed to find one pathetic dragon and the champion, how humiliating." The black dragoness said in mocking. "I was right all along brother, those monkeys are very useless because their brains are the size of the pebble."
"Quite Hex, if you wish to know your place." Scorch said to threaten, but it wasn't important when he still paying attention to the map, until his curiosity had shown him a big circle marked of the Dragonlands. "Commander, tell me more of this Dragonland right there." He pointed at it.
"The Dragonland is a kingdom where all the dragons are, but they are different than those from Avalar." The commander explained to him, but seeing him smile on his face like he's to something.
"When there's dragon... then, the champion is among them." Scorch said when he believed like putting all the clues together. "I think its time for us to pay them a visit."
....
Six days later, the Harmony Festival has started on Canterlot in the afternoon. Every creatures are very eager to enjoy this place for few hours. The music, games for the prices, having foods and sweets, and lots of fun. As soon as everyone are remain inside the festival, the only few ones who is outside were Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie. They have already arrived to Canterlot in about eight minutes or more, waiting for Twilight and Spike to show up for short minutes. "... Ugh! Where can they be, we've been waiting for so long and I can't take it." Rainbow Dash said impatiently while she fly back and forth.
"Ya need to relax Rainbow, ya should try to be patient like the rest of us." Applejack said.
"She's right dear, I'm sure they will be in our presence." Rarity agreed with a apple farmer. "But I have to say, it is quite splendid to see them for so long."
"Yeah, as soon as we all are together, we can do lots and lots of fun times." Pinkie Pie said in excitement while she's hopping around. However, a party pony stopped hopping because she spotted Twilight in fifty feet away, happy gasping. "I spy with my little eye, somepony has a horn and a wings!"
The others have paying attention to Pinkie Pie for what she seeing, until they've figured it out when they now also spotted them approaching. Their faces changes to happy and then speed walking towards Twilight. "Hey girls, you've all finally came here, it's so great to see you all." Princess Twilight said while everyone gets a hug to each other.
"Twilight darling, it is so wonderful to see you both for so long." Rarity said before they all let go of each other.
"So how were girls been doing back in Ponyville?" Twilight asked curiously.
"Oh it went mighty fine for all of us. Well, mostly we have our few good days and bad days in most of the times, but we were doin just fine. What about ya, how are yer handling things you've done?" Applejack said.
"It was okay, ever since Celestia and Luna are retired of their duties as Princess, I had to do is fulfill my accomplishments, sometimes it can't be easy. But with their guidance, things are going great to me and Spike." Twilight said.
"Speaking of Spike, where is he? I thought he is with you." Fluttershy said, wondering where that teenage dragon is.
"Hey girls!" A voice calling out to them, and it appears to be Spike with Sparx flying towards the Mane Six with happy look on his face. "Sorry for being late, did I kept you waiting?"
"Not anymore you're not, you've came just in time." Rainbow Dash said.
" Yay, now that were all here together, let's go in the Festival and HAVE LOTS OF FUN!" Pinkie Pie shout happily while pulling out the confetti cannon, causing the others to laugh.
Inside the Harmony Festival, everyone is having a good time of their life once they have plenty of funtime. The Mane Six and Spike have their separate ways to do what they liked to try. Applejack and Rainbow Dash are competing each other by doing a horse shoe toss, of course they've always ended up a tie without giving up. Pinkie Pie got herself a very big cotton candy with lots of snacks and sweets, everyone is looking at her strangely but that's Pinkie Pie for them. Fluttershy made some new friends with a cute little gold fishes in the fishing game, and they all seems to like her too. Spike have won the price a lavender teddy bear and pass it to Rarity as a gift. The white unicorn accepted the teenage dragon's generous offer and ended up kissing him in the cheek which makes him blush, causing the princess of friendship to giggle and rolled her eyes.
For a few hours later, the show is about to begin when everyone is in seats and face foward to the stage. The Mane Six and Spike got themselves into the best seats to see the view from above. A random pony appeared out of curtain on the stage, giving a speech to them. "Hello everypony and every creature big and small. Before we starts this show, tonight this is the story about Equestria's most famous heroes we've ever known. I called this show 'The adventures of Twilight Sparkle and her friends'." She said when the audience are clapping in joyful, including the Mane Six were anxious to see.
The curtains opened to revealed the art work background, light flashes from above, and young children actors dressed as the Mane Six and the rest of main characters. The gentle music started and one little filly began to say the story tell. "Once upon a time, there was a a unicorn named Twilight Sparkle, a pupil of princess Celestia. She gave her a task to travel to Ponyville for her first lesson. When Twilight Sparkle made it there, she met five ponies who are honesty, loyalty, generosity, kindness, and laughter. On the dreadful night, Nightmare Moon has return from a thousand years. But a miracle happened, Twilight Sparkle learned she is not alone because she has friends and friendships is magic. With the power of the Elements of Harmony, Nightmare Moon has turned back to princess Luna. Two princesses are reunited with once again with happiness and love all thanks to Twilight Sparkle and her friends."
The audience clapped for the ending part of the show while the curtains are closing. The Mane Six were surprise this part of it from the good times in the first place. "Wow, this is incredible, this is a good part how I first met with you girls when I arrived Ponyville." Princess Twilight said when she'd remembered.
"Yep, it feels like it was yesterday." Applejack said and the others agreed when they all nodded.
"Uuh uuh, here comes another one." Pinkie Pie said with popcorn in her mouth, pointing at the stage when it's first the next show.
Each time passes when everyone is enjoyed watching the parts of the scene for what the Mane Six has done in their times, like Discord is causing chaos, the changelings invaded Canterlot, how Twilight turns into alicorn, battle against Tirek, returning the crystal heart, travel through all alternative times, and every adventures their heroes did. All of them were still enjoying it, most of them ended up falling asleep because the show was to long.
On the moment, Spike hears the sounds of flapping coming from somewhere else, causing this teenage dragon to turned his head around and spotted something in the sky. "Uh, Twilight." He said to her which makes the princess of friendship to answer his response. He didn't need to ask her because Twilight noticed something what Spike is looking, along with the others also saw. The sounds of flapping are getting louder that cause everyone and actors to what's it coming from until now.
"What in Equestria are they, birds?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"No, I don't think those aren't birds Rainbow." Twilight answered, looking at up close a familiar creatures with wings. "Wait, these are... dragons?!"
Many dragons came from the landed safely in full speed on the ground, but the look of fear in their faces and hurt. The Mane Six and Spike doesn't know what is happening and why they're coming here in Canterlot, but they have to attend to find out. "Princess Twilight, help!" A voice calling out to them, and would appears to be an orange dragoness named Smolder, rushing towards the Mane Six and Spike while caring an injured Dragonlord Ember.
"Oh my gosh, Ember!" Spike said in worry for his friend while Sparx and the others following him.
"Smolder, what is happened to her and why have you and the dragons comes here?" Twilight asked, seeing the cyan dragon injury with one broken horn missing.
"The Dragonland... has been invaded by some... rogue dragons and took over our home. Please help us." Smolder said for the princess of friendship aid.
And so, in Spike's thoughts left with two questions, he is wondering who are these rogue dragon that Smolder was talking about, and why did they hurt Dragonlord Ember and took over their homeland. All these answers will soon to come for the time being. All the good time of peace has been turned into bad times when all things have changed now.

Chapter 4: Dragonland Invasion
*Five Hours Earlier*
At the Dragonland, the entire dragons have come together to this volcanic place on one thing they've been waited for the best tradition... 'The First Flame'. It is a special day when all the dragons have first come to this world of Equestria for a thousands of years. Bringing lots of gems they've gathered to feasting on and do most challenging each other to prove who is the strongest or the fastest. Ever since dragons are aggressive and rebellious to the outside world, but none of them are bad when they pretty much keep to themselves. For sometimes later, dragons accepted peace and trust with outside world because of Twilight Sparkle and her friends. On top of the sky, Dragonlord Ember watches her subjects to do all the great time in this traditional day. Suddenly, an orange dragoness who appears to be Smolder flew towards her. "Smolder, what brings you come to me?" Dragonlord Ember asked.
"I got this scroll that appears in front of me." Smolder said while passing a scroll to Dragonlord Ember and then opened. "Its an invitation from Canterlot, Princess Twilight Sparkle started that Harmony Festival for every creatures, would it be interested to go there?"
"It would be wonderful, but we can't leave Dragonland and ruined our traditions. I'm sure the princess understands it." Ember said, hated to disappoint the orange dragoness for not going, but it is her duty as the Dragonlord to keep this traditional day started.
"Fine, if you insist. But this isn't fair for me you know." Smolder said with the gloomy face.
"Hey Smolder, come join us in the tail wrestling, come on!" A red dragon calling out to her who is her older brother Garble. Smolder eagerly joined with the rest of the dragons down there to do an tail wrestling to see who is the strongest. So that leaves Dragonlord Ember to do what she's best at, but she hate to admitted that she also wanted to go to the Harmony Festival when she opened it again.
Meanwhile, two dragons were in charge of guarding the path way to the inside the volcanic place where the dragons are. But they are looking getting tired, almost falling asleep and yawning when they have only one job from the Dragonlord is to guard the pathway from any intruders. Sure it would be easy peasy for them... until now. One dragon spotted four figures who are appears to be the sons of the Dark Master that they did not know walking towards them. "Hey you, who goes there?" He said to threaten, but none of them respond back. "Are you all deaf, I said who goes there or I'll make you talk."
General Scorch snapped his finger to the huge dark brown dragon. "Rampage, crush them." He said to ask a favor.
"Hahaha, with pleasure big brother." Rampage said with a big fat smile on his face. "I'm love a good crushing things." General Scorch enjoys watching those two dragon got beaten down to the ground without mercy, laughing at their endless painful misery, even the black dragoness also likes to see them suffer.
"Enough distractions, it is time to hello to our host." General Scorch said while they continuing moving on passing through the two injured dragons on the ground. Suddenly, the one who's behind was a young violet dragoness, she feels so sorry for them to be beat up almost half dead while looking at them with a sad face. Back then, The sons of the Dark Master have made the entrance to the volcanic place, seeing lots of dragons everywhere to this Dragonland. "Let the hunt... commence."
General Scorch took a deepest breath and then blasted much of it up to the sky, causing the entire dragons to stop what they were doing and look at the biggest flame in the sky in shock of their faces. "What trickery is this?!" Dragonlord Ember shout in eyes widened by it, but focus on finding the one who is responsible for this until she did caught the dark gray dragon doing it.
Suddenly, the commander and the mandrills armies in bat creatures appears down out of the clouds, caring all the empty cages to be prepared to trap the dragons. "This is it my fellow apes... ATTACK!" The commander shouted while they all swoops down at those fire breathing reptiles they've been waiting for this hunt.
"Dragons, prepare for battle and the rest protect the eggs and hatchlings!" Dragonlord Ember shouted to them while they immediately obey her command by fighting back against the mandrills and some others are grabbing the eggs and the children out of here. But it is worst that those dragons never know what they're dealing with.
The battle rages between dragons and mandrills, fighting for all their lives to defend their territorial land, but never know what they're up against. The mandrills attempts to fire their cannons, but the dragons fire back with everything they got. Dragonlord Ember joins the fight for her subjects, easily took down four mandrills on bat creatures and letting them fall. The sons of the Dark Master were standing there to watching all this, but finding for the one who they were looking for.
"Tell me brother, are you certain that the Champion is among of those pitiful peasants, each of them lack of potential and combat makes me grew tiresome." Hex said in curiosity and bored of this show.
"Do you wish to join the battle, then be my guest Hex." General Scorch said when he's glaring at her.
"What, you want me to get my claws dirty, I'll pass." Hex said to refuse to fight there, exactly as he thought.
"But to answer your question, the Champion would have ignited its power of the ancestors for me to senses its presence. We have no other choice but to wait and see." General Scorch said.
The young violet dragoness on the other hand, couldn't bare to see this horrific chaos like a pig for slaughter, until she spoke to general Scorch. "My general, this is too much, there are children that can't even defend themselves." She said to convince.
"Mind your place Cynder." General Scorch said in aggressive tone without looking at her.
"B-but father-" Cynder tried to, but her words cut off before the dark gray dragon turned his head with an anger look on his face which makes her silence and took a step back.
Back at the battle in the sky, Dragonlord Ember keep on fighting with her brawn and brain. More of mandrills have come to her, but never know they're underestimate the Dragonlord they are dealing with. She unleashed her fire breath at them, burning them until they're unconscious. All of her fire power are almost wasted, but she never gives up without a fight. Dragonlord Ember wasn't sure how long will this battle last. Unaware to her, one mandrill is about to attack her from behind, but Smolder quickly rushed to save her by the flying kicked. A light blue dragoness owes Smolder big time of saving her.
"Where in Equestria do these monkeys come from, they are too many of them!" Smolder said.
"I don't know, but I believe those dragons down there are responsible of this catastrophe." Ember said, looking at the sons of the Dark Master with an anger face while fly down at them. But suddenly, Ember stopped herself because she sees her subjects were surrounded and some have been pulled in caged. It is a terrible scene right in front of her eyes, which it makes the Dragonlord grow furious for those villains who invaded her kingdom and attacking her subjects. She flies down really fast and landed hard on the ground, growling at the sons of the Dark Master. "Who are you, and why are you attacking my kingdom?!"
"Of course, allow me to introduce ourselves." General Scorch said while bow a little bit. "I am general Scorch, and we are the sons of the Dark Master. We've come to seek the one who lives among you. Otherwise, there will be no harm comes to your precious dragons if you surrender the Champion to me."
"Well I don't care who you are looking for and why do you want this 'Champion', but you've made a grave mistake terrorizing my kingdom, now you all gonna pay!" Ember shouted in anger and then charging at general Scorch in full speed. She throw out her biggest punch at him, but general Scorch saw this coming when he immediate dodged it and then counter smack Ember away back. The dragons gasps to see their Dragonlord trembling down to the ground. Ember is struggling standing up on her feet, overwhelmed by the pain general Scorch strength, but she never gives up that easily. "My opponents hit me much harder than that, come and face me if you have the guts!"
Her words give the dark gray dragon a thrill of a challenge, like a song to his ear. "This would make an interesting." General Scorch said while fly down to her, accepting the challenge against the Dragonlord herself while each of them taking their battle stands. "I accept your terms, but remember... you've made a grave mistake challenging the first born of the Dark Master."
It began a showdown between the Dragonlord and the general. The mandrills shouts and pound the ground to cheer their leader, and his siblings are sit back and watch their older brother starts to fight. Dragonlord Ember is first to attack by charging towards him throw a few punches, but general Scorch easily blocked her attack like it was nothing. She couldn't stop fight with her anger because of his mockery. And then, general Scorch is about to take is turn by quickly grabbing her tail, slamming her to the ground and kicked her really hard in the belly away. She coughing out while holding her own because it hurts so much. Out of nowhere, the dark gray dragon is in front of Ember, and then smack her in face three times. The Dragonlord jumped in flying kick, managed to hit him on his face to force him to take step back. However, general Scorch slowly turned his face at her, smiling like her kick is nothing which makes Ember shock. "Ouch." He mocked with an glowing red eyes. "Now my turn." General Scorch headbutted Ember head to death.
Dragonlord Ember is loses her balance, getting weaker by every single pain she gets. The light blue dragoness is struggling to lift her arm up so she can grip her fist to give him a punch, but general Scorch grabbed her wrist and twisted with his strength. The agony of pain consumed Ember when she screamed and forces her to get on her knees. "H-how... can this be... impossible?" Ember barely asked in pain, but terrifying.
"How I am enjoy the look of fear and confusion." General Scorch said. "Don't worry, once I am finished with you, the other dragons will become extinguish along the entire world to ashes." The dark gray dragon lifted Ember up. She tried to break free, but he's too strong to get away. On that worst moment, general Scorch roared after slamming Ember hard to the ground. The mandrills shouts to cheer their general's victorious challenge against the Dragonlord.
"EMBER!" Smolder shouted in worry with the dragons, reaching out to her.
General Scorch reaches to grab Ember's horn, and then snap it out of her as a new trophy to his collection. It is the most horrific moment for The dragons to see their Dragonlord defeated and been beat up into pulse, but Smolder couldn't stand it anymore while she quickly breathe fire at the mandrills to create a clear the way for her to save Ember. The orange dragoness once again releases her flame, causing the dark gray dragon to get blinded by it. By the time he's recovered his sight, he sees Smolder carrying Ember on her back in the air. "Dragons, with me!" Smolder shouted to calling the other to leave the Dragonland for retreating away from the enemy. But most of them can't because they were in cages by the mandrills. It is a worst decision to fled their own home land, but it must done in order to survive.
"Should I send my units to after them?" The commander asked.
"Yes, track them down and bring them alive so the champion will be revealed." General Scorch said while looking at those dragons fleeing. "And besides, we have where we came here for. Now we will begin the work of project resurrection to up close."
....
In the middle of the night sky, Smolder leading the other dragons travels west, but the emotions overwhelms them with sadness, anger, humility, and defeat. They were opposed to be the most fearsome fire breathing creatures that ever existence, but now... they're scared. "Smolder, where are we gonna go now that our home is taken?" Garble asked while fly beside her.
"We're going to Canterlot to get help, it's our only best choices we got and get Ember fully recovered." Smolder answered to her older brother's question, looking after the injured Dragonlord on her back.
And so, the Dragonland has been taken by the most dangerous foes they've never faced before. The other dragons were left behind are captured in cages to become the slaves for the sons of the Dark Master. But hunt for the Champion they greatly desire to resurrect the Dark Master never ends.

Chapter 5: The Voice
In the morning at Canterlot, the dragons were resting outside to heal themselves from the battle at the Dragonland, even giving the hatchlings and the eggs a comfort warmth. Thanks to Princess Twilight, she ordered her guards to gave those dragons some blankets, foods, and bandages. But they are very sad that their home have been taken and their families and friends been captured all because of The Sons Of The Dark Master and their mandrills, also humiliated to lose this fight. But the only concern is to be worry for their leader Dragonlord Ember who is in laying on the guest room with the best doctor in Canterlot. The Mane Six, Spike, Sparx, Smolder, and Garble are waiting outside the bedroom patiently for the doctor to come out, but the red dragon isn't patient enough to wait while his arms are crossed and tapping on the floor with his foot really fast. "Urgh! How long is this gonna take, I can't just stand there and do nothing when she's hurt!" Garble said in anger.
"Calm yourself Garble, your anger and frustration isn't gonna help Ember to feel better already." Twilight said.
"She's right, we need to be strong for her." Smolder said to calm him down, and it did.
"... alright, I will." Garble sigh while he sitting down on the floor and cross his arms again. But suddenly they hear the sound of the door opened and the doctor comes out of the bedroom, causing to get everyone attention.
"Its done, I've managed to patched her up and give her some medicines for the wound so she'll be just fine for now." The doctor said.
"Thank you so much doctor." Twilight said while she bow and the doctor bow back to her and then takes his leave.
By the time when everyone goes in the bedroom, they all see Dragonlord Ember resting peacefully in her sleep. This is a very serious situation unlike anything like that than the previous one's. "That poor dear, what sort of brutal barbarian would ever do such a thing?" Rarity asked.
"The evil dragons kind of way." Smolder said in aggressive tone.
"Evil dragons?" Twilight said while everyone besides Smolder and Garble looking at each other with a confusion by the orange dragoness answers.
"Yeah, they're were four dragons, one of then was that creep named Scorch who beating up Ember like it was nothing, but also there are armies of those monkeys." Smolder said to talk about last night at the Dragonland.
"Ah don't know who ever this Scorch feller is, but he sounds like big threat than the villains we faced before." Applejack said.
"A-and scary too." Fluttershy barely said in terrifying because of the orange dragoness say his name.
"Oh not just scary, it's suuuuuuper duper scary." Pinkie Pie said when she appeared up next to the yellow pegasi.
"So this 'Scorch and The Sons Of The Dark Master', do you know who they are and why did they want to attack your homeland?" Twilight asked.
"Honestly, we've never heard of or seen them in our lives." Smolder answered. "And also the reason why they attack is because they are looking for someone who is called 'The Champion' or something."
"The Champion?" Spike said in confusion, until the red dragon punch the wall to cause everyone to get startled and get the attention.
"Who cares about this champion character, all I care about is we need to know how we gonna take back the Dragonland and rescue our dragons!" Garble said in aggressive tone.
"I'm with Garble on that, were gonna show this Scorch dragon who boss." Rainbow Dash said while throwing punches in the air.
"No... you can't." A painful voice coming from Ember when she wakes up a little. "He can... tear you all apart limb... to limb of you... dare challenge him." The light blue dragoness trying sitting up slowly but painfully.
"Easy Ember, you shouldn't be moving in your condition." Spike said in worry.
"Dont worry, i'm... fine." Ember said, but stubbornly refuse to stay in bed.
"This is no time to be stubborn right now, you need to rest yourself so you can get your strength back." Smolder said to convince. Dragonlord Ember hate to regret it but to listen the orange dragoness.
"Rest assured you three, once you both are perfectly full recovered, well have discussion about the plan on taking back the Dragonland from your problems, I promise." Twilight said to make a promise to those dragons while bow to them and then leave the room along with her friends, Spike, and Sparx.
While the Mane Six were talking to each other more seriously, a teenage purple dragon was walking slowly to be left behind, turning his head to look at window to see the dragons outside. That just leaves him wondering the questions in his thoughts like why does the evil dragons attacks Dragonland and... who exactly is this Champion character they were looking for. That questions remained on his mind. Suddenly, Sparx taps the purple dragon's head to help him breaking the day dreams which it actually works. "Oh, sorry about that Sparx, I was just... day dreaming is all or somethin." Spike said, it is a good thing that the little dragonfly is looking out for him. "Yeah, thanks little buddy, let's go join with the girls."
Meanwhile far away from Canterlot, the group of Mandrills on the tallest tree, hanging and one of them watching through the telescope to see the Canterlot that has the watchful eyes of the royal guards which that keep them distances from any intruders. "So this is where the dragons are, let's get them." One mandrill said while marching, but then the other mandrill stopped him.
"Hold it you dummy, if you march to that place, you won't gonna live for another day." Two mandrill said.
"I don't get it." One mandrill said in confusion. "Then, what are we going to do if you're so smart enough?"
"We wait." Two mandrill answered which makes the other mandrills confused. "If one or many dragons leaves that place, we'll follow it and capture."
"Oh, I get it now." One mandrill said when he understand it now along with the others mandrills do, chuckling at the end.
....
Later in the night time on Canterlot, the dragons are sleeping comfortably outside the castle garden. The royal guards changes shift for the night to take turns and stay on high alert for any intruders inside or outside the castle. At the top where Spike's room is, a sleeping the purple dragon has kept moving uncomfortably on his bed while he's still asleep through the night. His closed eyes are twitching like he is dreaming of something in his head, but it seems like it is.
(Spike's Dream)
The purple dragon is in the strange void in his dreams, standing on the medium stone plate that looks... ancient. "What is this, this isn't what I dreamed." He said while looking around to this empty void, until he spotted another big plate with a fountain in the middle far in the distance. he was curious to go there while walk towards it, but surprisingly the pieces of stone appeared up to creating a bridge for him. "I didn't see that coming." Spike slowly moving his foot to step on the bridge, but luckily it didn't collapse at all. "It looks like it's all good for now." He then continues to walk this path that leads him the other stone plate where the fountain is. As soon as he got there, he then move towards the watery fountain and about to touch it with his finger.
"Hello Spike." An elderly male voice spoke, causing the purple dragon to get jumpy in startled.
"Who's there?!" Spike asked while looking around to find the source of the voice.
"Fear not, I am not there where you looking for, just only in your head." The elderly voice spoke again. "I have been waiting for you for so long."
"Who are you and what is this dream?" Spike asked.
"This is no mere dream my boy." The voice answered. "I have summoned you here so that your time has come."
"I don't understand, what do mean my time has come?" Spike asked in confusion.
"Go to the fountain and I will explain to you." The voice said while Spike headed to the fountain. "Now, look to the water and see what you saw to it." Spike look down at the water, but he only see is his reflection.
"There's nothing in that water, just my reflection." Spike said.
"Look closed." The voice said. The purple dragon lower his head closely to it, and then water has suddenly surprises him when it changed his reflection to a place he recognize the Dragonland. The water it again changed to show him that there are dragon once captured in cages, it gives the purple dragon quite a shock to see this happening.
"The Dragonland, this is a nightmare." Spike said for seeing such horrible thing, he knew he would feel like he wants to do something.
"Which is why do must save it, but not only one land, the entire world as well from the dark forces that have come to this world." The voice said.
"The dark forces?" Spike said in confusion. But for a moment, he actually knows the answer what the voice is saying. "The evil dragons."
"Indeed. But they are not just an evil dragons, they are the Sons of the Dark Master." The voice said.
"The Sons of Dark Master?" Spike said. "Hold on, how did know all this?"
"All the truth will be in good time someday my boy." The voice said. "So tell me Spike, do you truly wish to help all other dragons?"
Before the purple dragon answered his decision, he listen to his heart that it tells him to do it for Ember and her dragons subject. "Yes. I'm ready for anything, so when can I start?"
"Very good, what your about to do is to go travel to the east and seek out someone who will train you." The voice said, showing him the landscape of a mountain where the cave is he supposed to go. "But when you are awaken back to reality, never let any of friends and loved ones knows where you go."
"Well... okay, I promise I won't tell anybody even Twilight where I'm off, even if I'm in big trouble." Spike said while he raised his right arm and make a promise to the voice. But suddenly, the purple dragon's body is starting to fade away, but he also to tell one more thing. "Wait, I want to know your name."
"Very well, my name... is Obsidian. And I do hope we will see each other face to face someday." Obsidian introduce to his name to Spike while the purple dragon is completely vanished. "May the ancestors look after you."
....
Spike immediately woke up from his sleeping time in the middle of the earliest morning. He had a strong feeling that it wasn't just a dream after all. He already knew what he'll must do. But first, he has to wake Sparx up because the purple dragon wouldn't be alone without his dragonfly buddy. "Psst, hey wake up Sparx." He whispered closely through the tiny hole, but the dragonfly refuses while still asleep. Spike knew this is would happen when he makes a smirk face. He grabbed his tiny house and shake it really hard. Sparx has now wake up from what he believes it was an earthquake, but it was just Spike. He flies out of his tiny house and yelled at him with aggresive squeaky tone. "Sorry to wake up buddy. But listen, we need to leave right now because were going to save the world, are you with me." The dragonfly is thinking about it, until he already decided to join with him on a new adventure which makes Spike puts a smile on his face.
For a few hours later, Spike and Sparx are getting out of his room, quietly sneaking in the hallway to make they don't get caught by the royal guards. But suddenly, they hears the hooves steps coming from behind. By the time the royal guards enters here, they see... nothing. So they just keep on moving, but it is a good thing they didn't look up because that's where Spike and Sparx is. As soon as the royal guards are gone, Spike and flies down softly to not making noise, It was a really close call for them. But before they head outside, Spike had to leave the scroll he wrote for Twilight to her room so that she can read it when he and Sparx are gone.
Outside the castle, Spike and Sparx have made it out the castle, but there is one problem... there are full of sleepy dragons everywhere. "We need to be very quiet not to wake them up." He Spike whispered to Sparx while nodding him back. The purple dragon now move carefully not to step on their tails, arms, and feet. It was just too easy once he went pass through. "Okay, now it's time to go."
"And where do you think your going?" A familiar female voice has stopped Spike for taking flight. It turns out to be Smolder right behind him.
"Oh uh... hey Smolder, sparx and I just um... getting some fresh air early morning is all." Spike said to lie while nervously laugh. But he feels like he ain't gonna fool her.
"Spike, I've known you for a very long time. But to be honest with you, you're a terrible liar." Smolder honestly said while her arms are crossed.
"... Okay you win, I'll tell you." Spike regretfully admitted to say to the orange dragoness. "The real reason, is I have... a mission."
"What kind of mission?" She asked curiously.
"A mission of finding someone who can help us fight against the evil dragons." Spike explained it.
"Really, then I'm going with you." Smolder said to volunteer to go with Spike.
"No, you can't." He refused. "Besides, Ember needed you and the dragons needed her too. Me and Sparx will be fine to our adventures just like we did the whole times together."
"Well... alright Spike, but promise me you two better not do something really crazy got it." Smolder said after sighing.
"Sure, we will." Spike nodded, and then two dragons give each other a fist bump. The purple dragon is now opening his wings and then fly away in the air while Sparx is following him. While flying, he turned his head to look back at Canterlot to see before leaving his homeland. "Are you ready Sparx?" His dragonfly friend nodded.
And so, Spike and Sparx continues to travel east to seek out someone what the voice known as Obsidian has given a young purple dragon's a mission to save the world. But unfortunate for Spike, he never know he been spotted by the mandrills from afar and then plam on following them.

Chapter 7: Flare's Lessons

Chapter 7: Flare's Lessons
*Spike's Letter*
Dear, Twilight You probably wondering I am now, I had to left Canterlot to go to Changling Kingdom to visit Thorax. I'm sorry I left without telling you, but don't worry about me, Sparx is with me so we'll be fine to travel on our own. So we will be back for a few days or more.
Your number one royal advisor, Spike.
At Twilight's bedroom, she read Spike's fake letter that was in her door, making her believe that he and Sparx actually went to Changling Kingdom, that's good enough to fool her. She is technically a little upset for Spike for not telling her where he's going and worry for him, but it is fine to her because she knows that her royal advisor is old enough to go anywhere he wants. Suddenly, a knocking sound came from Twilight's door which get her attention. "Yes?" Twilight called.
"Your majesty, Dragonlord Ember wishes to speak with you at the council room." Raven answered while opening the door.
"Thank you miss Raven, I shall be there soon." Twilight said when she nodded and then the light gray unicorn mare bow her head and takes her leave. As soon as she left, the purple alicorn starts to leave her bedroom, but looking back to see Spike's letter for a little while and then now leaving to head to the council room where Dragonlord Ember is.

Meanwhile at the mountain where the cave is, Spike and Sparx have found a location where they are looking for someone he supposed to meet. Surprisingly, it turns out to be adult red dragoness named Flare which makes the purple dragon to get even more surprising, but confusing of what she meant by not of this world and know him when he was an egg. The answer will be soon to come. "So... let me get this straight, you said that you know me as an egg and the both of us are... not of this world, am I correct?" He said to understand it when the red dragoness nodded after to answer his question. "I'm not sure if I can believe you or anything."
"I understand it's hard to believe, but in my heart I'm telling you the truth." Flare said while placing her hand onto her chest. "I am very much glad to see you once again under our circumstances."
"I... guess so." He said while rubbing his head behind until he starts to introduce himself and his dragonfly friend. "My name is Spike by the way, and this is my little buddy Sparx."
"Spike... that is a fitting name for you, I like it." Flare said when she liked his name in calmly smile, but then she starts asking a question. "Tell me Spike, how in the world do you ever find me?"
"Well, it's not important." He said to refuse to reveal his task by Obsidian. "The reason why I'm is because I really need your help. The rogue dragons and their monkeys have attacked the Dragonland and took most of the dragons as prisoners."
"Rogue dragons... The sons of the Dark Master are here?" Flare asked when her eyes are widened in fear and the purple dragon nodded. "So it's too late."
"Too late, what do you mean it's too late?" Spike said in confusion.
The red dragoness looked around to see if the Dark Armies are somewhere on the ground or on the sky, but it is a good thing that they're not here with Spike. "Come inside, there are alot of things you need to know."
Spike and Sparx followed Flare into the cave. By beholding of what's inside the entrance, this place has a almost leafs and vines covered hole that the daylight shine on the inside, a soft waterfall pond, and the markings of writings and drawings of her stories. "So how long have you been here?" Spike asked.
"Fourteen years ever since the five of us came to this unfamiliar world away from our destructive homeworld." Flare answered to showing Spike the drawings of her past on the stone walls.
"The... five of us?" He said in confusion.
"Yes. You, me, Stone, Frost, and Zapp." She answered to say the other's names. "We've come from the the realm once called Avalar, a peaceful world where we all dragons live, but we been deceived by the Dark Master and his children who turned our beloved home into dust and ashes. When we believed our Hope is lost, there is one dragon, our great leader."
"... The Champion." Spike said to guess correctly of who is the Avalar's hero.
"Yes." Flare nodded. "The Champion single handedly destroyed the Dark Master with all of his power, but it cost his life in the end. After four years later, the power of the ancestors goes to the unborn hatchling to become the next Champion and you're one of the unborn hatchling."
"Wait... so you're saying that... I'm the Champion?!" Spike asked in shout while the red dragoness nodded the truth to him. Besides the part of who he is, for so many years of questioning of where he came from and why he's different from the other dragons in this Equestria. The truth has finally answered to him like a door open to reveal inside. "Its no wonder how I got weird light coming out of my mouth."
"Weird light?" Flare said in confusion, until she figured it out one thing for what has Spike did from few hours ago. "You must mean the power of the ancestors. How did you know and do it?"
"I don't, it just came out of my mouth like I never had before. I got really angry and scare for when that monkey was about to step on Sparx." Spike said to explain the back story, until then she understood it.
"Your feelings have somehow triggered its power to save those you cared for." Flare said to explain it to him. "But now the sons of the Dark Master and the Dark Armies knows your identity, they'll never stop hunting you and me. Our only option is to stay hidden from their chaos."
"What?" Spike said. "Flare, Sparx and I didn't come all this way to see you scared of them, we've come here for your help."
"You don't understand what we all have been through from the very beginning, we escape from their clutches and our mentor was left behind. He risk and sacrifice his life for us. If we hadn't gotten through the portal to this world, General Scorch and his Dark Armies would wipe us off." Flare said in feelings of fear, anger, and guilt for what happen that day. It really makes Spike to understand how she feels, that hits him very much.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel that way." Spike Apologized while his dragonfly friend nodded to agree, but Flare shook her head when she sigh for calming.
"No, I'm the one who should be sorry to you." She said. " we've lost our homeworld and the rest of dragons of Avalar are wiped out, and now there are five of us left."
"There's only two of us, where are the other three?" Spike asked while looking around to see there are more other Avalar dragons, but it just only Flare.
"After I send you away safely, I head back to help them against the Dark Armies, but it was too late when all of them were taken away." She said. "I never stop track them down for many years. And when I do, I've found the fortress where they held them captive. I wanted to get them out, but that place is heavily guarded."
"Then we can get them out." Spike said. "Think about it, when all of us altogether, we can stop the bad guys and save Equestria, doesn't it sounds like a great plan, do you?"
The red dragoness closed her eyes when she's thinking hard about the possibilities of saving three Avalar dragons out of their clutches of the Dark Armies's fortresses. When she opened her eyes, Flare has decided to answer for the purple dragon. "Spike... it's time to first start of your training." She said, causing Spike to smile the meaning that Flare accepted to help him.
For a couple of minutes later, Spike, Sparx, and Flare have finished cleaning the cave to begin Spike's first lesson in training. The red dragoness created the dummies as target practice. Spike had to keep sweeping the ground to get the dirt and dust out of there while Sparx glow to give him a light to see. And for that, the cave is completely cleaned and the lesson has been commence. "Alright Spike, to begin your first lesson is to learn the basic attack. Luckily, I mastered a few ancient techniques thanks to my mentor." Flare said. "Have you ever fight against your foes before?"
"Well... yeah I did once." Spike nodded to answer when he remembered the old times he done it. "I fought against the pirates, the giant bird, the evil alicorn, and now those smelly monkeys. I beat all the bad guys."
"Then show me how you defeat you enemy by attacking me." She said.
"Oh... okay then." Spike said in confusion, but he has to go for it. The purple dragon taking his battle stands at Flare, jumped and throw his fist to give her the give. Surprisingly, Spike was shocked because the red dragoness grabbed his fist much quicker like she knew what's gonna happen. And the last part, Flare spinning him around until he landed his head on the ground. "Ow..."
"I admire your boldness, but your opponent can be more smart than you when you first attack without thinking carefully." Flare said to give him advice while Spike barely nodded in pain, feeling like this is gonna be a long training.
For a few couple of minutes, Flare teaches him a basic moves so that he can follow her instruction skills. Once he did, he now starts to attacking on three dummies to used the technique she taught him. Sparx really likes to watch what Spike can do as a show. The second lesson of training is a target practice by aiming with a fire ball. Spike watches Flare firing the fire ball at the dummies to hit the bullseye circle without a miss. It is now Spike's turn to fire at the dummies, taking a deep breath and releases the fire ball. He miss hit the bullseye circle, but keep trying again not to miss again. The third lesson of training is defense and counter. All Spike had to do is defending himself to block and avoid while Flare throw her punches and swing a tail, waiting for a time to strike. The purple dragon did everything he can to block and dodged her, but for a couple of times he failed when he got hit or fell to the ground. No matter how many times he failed, he never gives up every lessons he's doing.
For a few moments later, Spike has nearly passing through every lessons he mastered. The purple dragon fire on those dummies on a bullseye circle, it makes Flare to impressed his aim, especially his skills are good as hers. Once again, he continues to block and avoid Flare attack for the last lesson. This time, he sees this coming when he blocked Flare's punch, quickly jump to avoid her tail sweep, and then pushed her hard for the perfect moment. Now that he done it, Flare smiled at the purple dragon, believing that he is now ready. "Congratulations Spike, you have
"Thanks Flare." He thankfully said, and Sparx fly towards him. "I got to be honest with you, it was really hard and painful, I can feel the bruises all over my body."
The red dragoness pulled out the gem out of her back and give it to Spike. "Here, the gem can give you gain your full strength." She said.
"Okay, don't mind if I do." Spike said while grabbed it from her hand and eat it. But suddenly, the purple dragon's body is starting to heal the wounds away. "That is delicious, but what do you mean it can give me full strength."
"The gems are not ordinary, they have a special property known not only gives you an appetite or fuel your fire, but to heal any dragon's wounds whenever injury occurs." She said to explaining to him about the gems.
"Woah, I didn't know it can do that." He said in amazement.
"Now that your training is complete, let us head outside." Flare said while she walked to all the way exit while Spike and Sparx following her. By the time when they are now outside the cave, the red dragoness now turned her face to Spike. "Listen carefully Spike, at the south is an Iceland where I found the fortress. You must travel there and free one of ours."
"Okay but, aren't you coming with us?" Spike asked.
"No I will not, you must do this alone." Flare said whole shook her head. "I have trained you with everything I got, I know you can do it, now go."
"Alright Flare, I won't let you down." Spike nodded while taken flight in the air and about to leave right away. But suddenly, Flare stopped the purple dragon when she grabbed his tail.
"Hold on Spike, there is something you should know." Flare said while letting go of his tail. "If you run into or spotted The Son Of The Dark Master, do not engaged them because they are far more stronger than any of us. Fleeing is the only choice you have, understood?" The purple dragon nodded to accept Flare's options if he meets the rogue dragons, and then took off in the air and head to south where the fortress at the Iceland is while Sparx is going with him. "May our ancestors look after you, Spike. May them look after us all."
And so, a young purple dragon have finally met and trained with Flare before going on a mission to rescue the Avalar dragons. Who know what fates lies ahead for Spike and Sparx, but they will soon find out what will happens next at the fortress in the Icelandic land of the south.

Chapter 10: Zapp's Lessons
Back at the mountain in the afternoon where the cave is, Spike, Sparx, and Zapp already arrived to this place where Flare is, causing her to be so very happy to see Zapp alive and well after so many years since they first came to Equestria, barring a hug like the siblings they are. Zapp too had his hope of seeing one of his old friends again. Thanks to Spike, their's Hope for them are growing by the minute or so, but not yet because there are two more Avalar dragons needed to be rescued. "Zapp, I always knew you would be alright in one piece." Flare said with a smile.
"Yeah, if it weren't for him and his little flying friend there, who know what could've happened to me." Zapp happily said.
"I am sorry for not being there with you all, should've made it back to you, Stone, and Frost in time." Flare said when she feels guilty for what happened back in the past.
"It wasn't your fault Flare, you just did what you had to in order to protect the egg." Zapp said. "If it's the redemption you want, then you'll have it once we get Stone and Frost back to us.
Listen to the words of this yellow dragon's had helped her to think about it, then she nodded her head to agree with him. Now two adult dragons turn their attention on Spike, and Flare said. "Spike, is it true you mastered the lightning breath to defeat the Dark Armies?"
"Well... I wouldn't say I mastered it, it just happened when that monkey with a whip had me and shocked me. But then, poof, it burst out of me." Spike said to explaining them what happen last time while Sparx nodded.
"I see, then there are two more elements that must be awoken for any time being, it us very important for you to understand that." Flare said after the purple dragon nodded to understand the instructions. Now that Spike already have fire on his life, but the lightning is new to him and couldn't figured it out how to exactly master it.
After that moment on, Zapp is stepping forward to Spike because he's about to say to him. "So Spike, I've noticed you been training with Flare last time, I believe it's my turn to teach you a thing or two, especially the lightning element in you so get ready." He said.
"Really, alright let's do this." Spike said for being prepare from any lessons that Zapp got. But suddenly... his stomach is growling, meaning that he's hungry. "first, can we get something to eat first?"
"Um... yeah, that's a good idea." Zapp said. However, it was a pretty good idea at first, the purple dragon cannot continue training without an empty stomach.

Meanwhile at the Dragonland, General Scorch is watching the few of the construction of project resurrection is nearly completed for about one more day left. But on the other, he became furious to hear the news what happen the fortress back at the snowy land and the one who had failed to capture the Champion has been sentenced to be executed. After that, general Scorch's daughter Cynder approaches to him and bend her knees with a bow. "You summoned me my general?" She asked.
"Yes child, the reason why I brought here to me is because I have a special mission just for you." General Scorch said when he cause her to move her head up with eyes widened. "So tell me, do you truly wish to proof yourself loyalty by bringing the Champion to me alive?"
"Yes... yes, I will proof my loyalty to you. Even I have to fight the Champion by force if I had to." Cynder said with such bravery and worthy.
"Then go, travel to the west and find the guarded base beneath the jungle." He said while pointed at the direction where she's about to go. Cynder getting up on her knees and prepared to take flight in the air. But suddenly, the dark gray dragon quickly grabbed her ankle before she takes her leave. "And daughter, do not disappoint me, understood?"
"... Yes father." Cynder nodded to him, but feeling a bit terrified of him when she sees an aggressive look on general Scorch's face and then he let her go.
By the time she's gone, general Scorch had a feeling he's not alone, knowing exactly who it is hiding behind the entrance. "I know you are there, I can see your shadow Hex." General Scorch said.
"Pardon my introduction dear brother, I just couldn't help myself with my curiosity." She said while stepping out of her hiding place to appear herself. "I have overheard your conversation with Cynder about her loyalty to you and capturing the Champion, am I correct?"
"As always sister." General Scorch answered that he means she's right.
"You know, for what seeing on Cynder, I have feeling she's going soft at all times." She said when she believes it.
"She is nothing more but the expendable pawn in our chessboard, a weakling and naive to learn the truth." General Scorch said while gripping his left hand tightly.
"And what will happen if she finds out the truth we kept from her?" Hex asked when she's curious with a smirk on her face.
"Then... Cynder will be no used to us once I finished with her." General Scorch answered that question with glowing red eyes.
....
Back at the cave, the training has been started since Spike got his appetites of those delicious gems he ate for couple of minutes ago. Zapp is giving the young dragon instruction lessons of controlling the lightning element within. The first lesson Spike had to do is blast three targets with one shot of the lightning breath, but he sometimes misses a few blast on those training dummies. Flare and Zapp were watches him doing quite better well than they thought. "That's it Spike, keep on doing what I told you." Zapp said. "Remember, your foes can be stronger than you, unless the lightning breath of yours can slow them down with the electric sting."
"No need to tell me twice, I keep on doing it in about eight minutes or so." Spike said in exhaustion while taking a breather for his lungs.
"That's enough with the first lesson, we're going to the best for last one." Zapp said while standing up from the ground. He grabbed tons of rocks on his arm for one thing. "Okay Spike, the last lesson is hit your target in the air with the lightning bolt. However, you need to be much quicker when I throw one rock at a time, got that?"
"I guess so." Spike answered.
And with that, the yellow dragon now starts to throw one rock in normal speed. Spike got an eye on it and then release the lightning bolt right now, but he missed it. "So close, try again." Zapp said. Again, the yellow dragon throw the rock for Spike to keep an eye on it like a baseball game. The purple dragon releases the lightning bolt a second time, but still missed it a second strike. "You gotta be quicker than that to aim it."
"Ugh, how can I ever hit it when you throw it too fast?" Spike asked in frustration. "Let's face it, I'll never get it right."
Seeing Spike sitting down with a frown on his face and hopelessness. Zapp knew he had to go towards the young dragon to planning on helping him. "Check this out closely." Zapp said while he threw the rock to show the purple dragon how it done, keeping an eye on it to wait patiently for the right moment. And he does, the yellow dragon released one shot of the lightning bolt to a different direction where one rock is about to fall. And then, he made a direct hit into pieces. "You see that, it works perfectly when I blast my lightning bolt to different direction before it hits the ground, including zig zag." For moment on, Spike starts to get it because he doesn't realize that he supposed to do that. "Care to try one more time?"
"... Alright, I got this for sure this time." Spike said while standing up and headed to the position where he is about to resume his final lesson. "Okay, I'm ready." And with that, Spike is now prepared for the last target practice, until Zapp once again throws one final rock away it goes. This time, Spike need to be patient and observed for the right moment to strike, and then... he blast the lightning bolt out of his mouth to a different direction as Zapp did. As soon as he did, he finally managed to blast it into pieces. "Hey, I did it."
"Great work there kid, I knew you wouldn't give up so easily." Zapp said in amusement for what he just saw, especially Sparx and Flare are very happy two see this young dragon's accomplishment. "Alright, let's do all this again in about twenty times."
"WHAT?! Aww." Spike said in shock for hearing it from the yellow dragon. The other were laughing because it's funny and Spike is the only one who is not amused at all when he makes a gloomy face.
....
For couple of hours later in the night time, Spike's training has been completed in about thirty minutes ago, and now everyone is resting to be prepare on the next mission for Spike. As for Flare and Zapp because the yellow dragon has the best information about their two Avalar dragons friends current locations. "Are you certain you know where the Dark Armies's bases that they have them captives?" Flare asked.
"I know only one." Zapp answered. "When I was locked up for so long, I overheard those guys talking about the ice dragon which it could be Frost is somewhere they said jungle somewhere at the west."
"This is a perfect opportunity for Spike to get Frost back to us." Flare said.
"But Flare, what happen when General Scorch and his siblings were there, what will he do?" Zapp asked to worry for the young dragon.
"Worry not, I have told him if he encounter them, he must flee as quickly as he can." Flare answered the idea she told Spike before.
"Now that's a best thinking we can come up with, we all know its impossible that we don't stand a chance against them, especially our combined strength and power." Zapp said.
"Yes, but now we've grown for so long and Spike has the power of the ancestors, anything will be possible to defeat them, I can assure you." Flare said when she looked away and Zapp nodded to agreeing with her.
"Let's get some shut eyes, tomorrow will be a big day." Zapp said before he yawned and leaving her be to herself.
Meanwhile, Spike and Sparx are attempting to take a long sleep to save his energy for tomorrow's mission. But before they do, the purple dragon couldn't stop thinking about leaving Twilight without telling her the truth, fearing that she might not be happy about it. "Hey Sparx, do you think Twilight will get mad for leaving without telling?" He asked to his little dragonfly friend. While Sparx is thinking about it, he believes that she will be for it when he nodded. "Yeah, I thought so. But I hope she'll forgive me when I apologize for lying to her, good night Sparx."
And so, Spike and Sparx taking a snooze for a long night, waiting until the morning will soon to come. Little do they know what the next challenge lies ahead for this young purple dragon, especially one threat Cynder that awaits him on the next day.
