Equestria Girls: The Scarecrow's Curse

by ShopperBrony90

Alternate Ending: The Rise of Pumpkinia

Previous Chapter

The sun hung low in the sky as the scarecrow towered over Sunset Shimmer and Wallflower Blush. Equestrian Magic crackled around him, creating an almost tangible aura of invincibility. Sunset and Wallflower exchanged a desperate glance, their combined powers the last hope against this malevolent force. With a roar, they unleashed their final attack, but the scarecrow was ready.

The magic vines Wallflower conjured withered under the scarecrow's dark power, and Sunset's geode glowed brightly one last time before the light faded. The scarecrow's straw fingers tightened around their throats, and with a terrifying ease, he solidified them both. With a triumphant laugh, the scarecrow raised them high and then smashed them to the ground, collecting their seeds.

Back on Pumpkinia, the scarecrow returned with a satchel full of seeds. The eerie silence of the haunted garden was broken only by the rustle of his steps. One by one, he planted the seeds, each representing a once vibrant soul now reduced to a potential pumpkin. The dark magic that permeated the soil quickly took hold, and soon, sprouts began to emerge.

Days passed, and the garden flourished in a grotesque parody of life. Where vibrant flowers and lush greenery once grew, now stood rows of talking pumpkin heads, their eyes wide with horror and confusion. Sunset Shimmer, Wallflower Blush, Sci-Twi, Rainbow Dash, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Applejack, Apple Bloom, Big Mac, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie—each one now just a head rooted in the cursed soil.

"Sunset, what happened?" Sci-Twi's voice trembled; her glasses somehow still perched on her pumpkin form.

"We failed," Sunset said bitterly, her eyes flickering with the remnants of the fire that once burned within her. "The scarecrow won."

The scarecrow walked among them, his presence casting a dark shadow over the garden. "Welcome to your new home," he sneered. "You'll make fine additions to my collection."

"What do you want from us?" Applejack demanded, her voice steady despite the terror that gripped her.

The scarecrow bent down, his eyes glowing with malice. "I want you to witness the rise of Pumpkinia," he said. "A world where I rule, and you, my prized pumpkins, are forever bound to this land."

Days turned into weeks, and the heads could do nothing but watch as the scarecrow's vision for Pumpkinia unfolded. The once barren land transformed into a thriving, yet grotesque, garden, filled with strange and twisted plants that bore no resemblance to the flora of Earth. The scarecrow reveled in his power, his dark magic spreading like a blight across the land.

Despite their predicament, the heads began to find solace in each other's company. They shared stories, reminisced about their lives before the transformation, and plotted ways to communicate with anyone who might find them.

"We can't just give up," Sunset insisted one evening. "There has to be a way to break this curse."

"We need to find someone who can help us," Wallflower added. "Someone who can use Equestrian Magic to undo this."

Their hope lay in the possibility that someone, someday, would come to Pumpkinia and discover their plight. Until then, they would endure, their spirits unbroken despite their terrifying new reality.

As the nights grew longer and the shadows deeper, the garden of Pumpkinia stood as a testament to the scarecrow's victory. But within each talking pumpkin head, a flicker of hope remained, a determination to fight against the darkness that had claimed them.

And so, the heads of Sunset Shimmer, Wallflower Blush, and their friends waited, their eyes ever watchful, their minds ever plotting. For they knew that even in the darkest of times, hope could take root and grow, just as surely as the seeds that had once been their undoing.
