Promising Change
Ch 2
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt has been a week since I arrived in Manehattan. I spend most of my time with my cousin, my aunt and uncle and Sweetie Belle. It’s just they’re family and it makes sense that I try to be gradual about the change.
I am right now talking to my aunt and uncle. They are glad about the progress that’s been made. I then began to read the daily newspaper. Oh, how I love the little stories in each page from the opening of a new country restaurant in the city to the more serious ones like a riot in a district of Manehattan over non pony rights.
“You sure love journalism don’t you.” My aunt said noticing my interest in the stories of the newspaper.
“Yeah. ah’ve always loved the stories specially the ones about different cultures.” I said with excitement.
“You should join the local school newspaper.” My uncle suggested.
That got me nervous. Can I really show myself in another newspaper after everything I’ve done last time?
“It’s alright if you’re a bit nervous. But just because you made a mistake the last time you were in the school editing does not mean you can’t try it again.” Uncle Orange suggested.
“Yeah, I know I just want to prove myself worthy.” I spoke.
“And you can prove yourself worthy by creating a newspaper that includes information with people’s consent.” Uncle Orange said.
“I suppose that’s true.” I said I was interested in the idea.
I then went up to the local school's editing room. “Excuse me, I've been told this is where I need to go in order to find a place in the local school newspaper.” I said in my southern accent.
The mare smiled “You’ve come to the right place. We can possibly start by having you work with the printing.” She said enthusiastically.
I smiled. “I’d like that.”
