Rainbow's Ordeal
Unexpected Turn of Events

The perspiration inching its way down Rainbow Dash’s face was but a small percentage of proof towards her last…attempt. Looking up slowly and scanning the area Rainbow fully took in the mess she had just made all over the bed upon which she currently sat, if you could call her current position sitting, upon, not to mention the wall in front of her, but, honestly, that was no concern of Rainbow’s. What Rainbow needed to do was what Rainbow needed to do, and if she had to screw up someone’s wall she didn’t give a damn. Finally, the spasms in her legs had stopped; her heart rate and breathing pace had definitely eased as well. Inhaling deeply she knew she could begin again. Although she currently inhabited the dark, she could still see the outline of her right hoof in front of her face as she waved it, and the sticky substance dripping down it made her cringe slightly. With that, she picked up her…tool… and lowered it back down to begin again.
With her eyes shut tightly, Rainbow began a slow back and forth motion. After a period of this ridiculously slow effort to get the “job” done she knew she’d have to quicken her pace. Staring at her hoof now, she began to bob her head with the quick, jagged movements it made. Suddenly she drew in a large gasp and almost threw her head back onto the pillow; she had just reached the next level of her action. Her eyes widened as she stared at the ceiling, and, unable to make any more noises, just held her mouth open and began to speed up her hoof. Eventually, after around a minute or so of this, she reached the part she had been, what somebody might call, anticipating, her hoof began to slow down and grind.
Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth, it was all Rainbow could think at this point, slow, deep, huffing noises were generated from deep in her throat, which quickened with each movement of her hoof. Loud thumping noises came from the constant slamming of her head against the pillow. Then, out of what seemed like nowhere, Rainbow let out a loud yelp as she reached the end of her grinding and liquid squirted out everywhere, even more than last time. Had she done something wrong? Rainbow began to panic, and that panic involved her spazzing with the rest of her body, twisting and turning at every angle. Although she managed to get one last quick rush of energy to finish, she had never felt more tired in her life.
Imagine you’ve just run a marathon, but then all of a sudden you had your wallet stolen and you were forced to chase that person more than twice the distance you had just run. Now imagine that times ten, and you had how Rainbow felt right now. She could hardly even stay awake; her head lay sideways on the pillow, tongue hanging out and dribbling saliva all over the sheet. As well, her eyelids were drooping almost all the way over her eyes, and more than just her head, every bit of her right hoof burned with pain, this included her shoulder, and even her torso from twisting and contorting. However, she had done it, she was- another spurt of blood practically shot out of what remained Rainbow’s leg and she was reminded she would need to cauterize it- free.
“Cyan looked terrible mixed with so much red,” Rainbow thought, “it looks so much less…cool.” Leave it to Rainbow to be thinking of anything other than her two half-cut off legs. However, she didn’t really care about that at all, she was just trying to think of anything other than the fact that she would most likely never walk again, or the more current issue, the fact that she was very carefully handling a blowtorch to stop the constant flow of blood out of her leg. When, finally, she had closed up the wound, her mind took over and forced her to look at the crumpled body on the ground, which in turn caused the memory of how she got there.
Rainbow had just finished signing the daily autograph Scootaloo demanded of her. Although most people thought she hated Scootaloo, she loved that little filly. It was great to have a number one fan, and made her smile just at the thought of it. With a quick ruffle of Scoot’s hair she began to crouch for her signature launch up into the air, trailing rainbow behind her, when she heard someone shout her name.
“Rainbow Dash!” called a deep voice in the distance. Rainbow looked up and awkwardly straightened back up from her pre-launch position, and to her surprise she saw a red stallion clumsily running towards her.
“Big Macintosh?” She called back. Puzzled, she began to walk towards him. Big Mac and her had never really talked much, and the conversations they did have were purely business. Ever since Cadence’s wedding, Rainbow had been helping with the apple bucking, and she wasn’t afraid to admit it. Time after time Rainbow had been taught not to be so cocky and independent, so eventually she just got the message and began to help wherever it was needed.
“Rainbow, we need you down at the farm, there’s been an incident: a whole tree just fell on Apple Bloom!” Big Macintosh’s voice cracked slightly as he finished. This was the first genuine emotion Rainbow had perceived from Big Mac…well, ever. She would later learn that Big Mac was just a very skilled actor. Without letting him reach her, Rainbow bolted towards and past him, with her goal being the farm, she knew he would follow.
Upon arriving at the farm, Rainbow didn’t see any of the hectic pandemonium she had been expecting. Where was everypony? In a minute or so Big Mac showed up next to her, and then something Rainbow will never forget happened, he froze, then fell to the ground. From what Rainbow could see before looking up to find the attacker, Big Mac had just been severely burned on his back, she could even see bits of bone. Wildly, she looked around for the potential murderer, and her eyes rested on none other than The Great and Powerful Trixie, pointing her horn directly at Rainbow!
