This is not gonna go well

A question can mean everything...

An older filly was heart broken her coltfriend had died in a housefire...

"Why does everything have to be taken away from me! Every coltfriend I've had have either ran away or died!

From the street all that could be heard was incoherent screaming and wailing sobs...

A long, long time later...

Rainbow Dash never had a lasting relationship It was her curse. She had dated 23 stallions, and 8 mares, and seeing all of those ponies leave her was rough. At least she had her best friend Applejack, they were usually working the farm together when Rainbow Dash wasn't at work. Her work sucked, it was barely legal, staying alive from a loophole in the legal system, and didn't even pay that much. Her one salvation after work was seeing Applejack's face, and it was quite a good face. Rainbow Dash loved her with all of her heart, and Rainbow Dash finally decided that she was going to ask Applejack out tomorrow.

'I hope this doesn't go like every other pony i've asked out.'

The next day...

Rainbow Dash and Applejack are working on the farm together, well, were working on the farm, now they are on a hill overlooking the sunset. The two were silent as they napped in the comfort of the grass below them, eventually Rainbow Dash broke the silence.

"Hey."

"Yeah?"

"We have been friends for so long and..."

"Uh huh."

"...Do you wanna go out on a date?"

Applejack paused for a bit taking in what her best friend just said but eventually she responded.

"Sure."

"Oh, nice, I'll be honest, I didn't expect you to say yes."

"Where do we go for our first date?"

"Uhhhh, there's a pretty cool bar over near Twi's castle."

"Wisp's Whiskey?"

"Yeah, that place."

"Meet tomorrow at 7:00?"

"Sounds good."

6:37 PM: the next day...

Rainbow Dash is flying back home from a long day at work, panicking about her date in half an hour, and when she finally got home she quickly pulled together an outfit and flew out the door as quickly as she came in.

'Dang work giving me so much to do on such an important day.'

She was going to be late and she knew it so she quickened her flaps and rushed to her destination.

'I NEED to be on time, please... I don't want to screw this up on our first date.'

When she spotted her date on a table inside the bar she slowed her flaps and descended on to the ground and entered the bar.

'Barely on time but at least i'm not late.'

"There you are Dash, thought you were gonna be late!"

"Sorry about that AJ, I had a really long day at work."

"It's okay I understand, I know you wouldn't miss this for anything."

"Yeah you're right."

"Dash are you okay, you seem awfully nervous?"

"I'm okay, just a little scared of messing things up with you."

"Dash, it's okay you aren't going to mess things up, and even if you do I can't stay mad at you forever."

"Thank you, It's just that I care for you so much and I don't want to lose you."

"It's okay sugarcube, I'll still be here whenever you need me."

"Thank you AJ I- I just- I want to- can I say- I LOVE YOU!"

Applejack chuckled a little bit and then said.

"I know that already, why else would you ask me on a date?"

Rainbow Dash's cheeks turned pink and then she mumbled out.

"I don't know I guess I'm just being stupid again.

"It's okay sugarcube, we all mess up some times. And golly you are not stupid, I'd say easily you are smarter than me!"

"Thank you AJ I just want to say..."

Rainbow Dash took a large breath

"...can we kiss?"

To Rainbow Dash's suprise Applejack started to lean towards her with a worried yet loving look on her face. Rainbow Dash returned the gesture, but before their lips met they heard a loud cough to their side.

"Are you gonna order?"

"Hey man you totally ruined the moment, but I'll take a fruit salad."

"I'll take the same."

As the waiter walked away they looked back at each other but, unable to create another moment like the last one, they decided to talk about random things.

"How is Scootaloo?"

"Doing well, she's finally getting decent air during flight. How is Applebloom?"

"Doing well, she's finally past her rebellious teen age."

"That's good, although I'll miss her helping me with pranks though."

"Dash, no!"

"Did you hear about Lyra and Bon Bon proposing to each other?"

"Yeah they'll make a good couple."

"Man when will the food get here?"

"Dash it's been 2 minutes."

"I know but fruit salads don't take that lon-"

Rainbow Dash was interrupted by another loud cough.

"Here's your food."

"Thanks."

They ate their food in silence occasionally looking at each other with a happy smile. They paid their bill, and Rainbow Dash flew them to a hill overlooking the sunset. They look out, silenced by the beauty of the sun shining it's glorious rays across the sky. They watched in go down past the horizon, and then Rainbow Dash spoke.

"I've been thinking."

"Yeah?"

"Will I be missed when I'm gone?"

"Of course you'll be, we'd miss you alot, especially me."

A good moment of silence passed then eventually Rainbow Dash hugged Applejack.

"I love you so much AJ."

"You know what, I love you too."

And finally they ended the kiss started 20 minutes ago.

1 year later...

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were sitting on the same hill as where they first kissed. They were quite tired after their wedding was rudely interrupted by Discord getting drunk and raining hell on the wedding party. It was still a good wedding though as the two were successfully wed.

"Hey AJ"

"Yeah?"

"Can't believe it's already been a year."

"Wow, it has been a whole year hasn't it"

"And I still love you just as much as before."

"You're adorable."

"NO I'M NOT!"
