It is the end of 8th century after Luna's Banishment, and the Diamond Mountains, home to the dogs of the same name, are being rocked by a wave of slave revolts after the first grand uprising resulted in creation of Country of Bronzehill by the refugees who swore oath to the griffon emperor.

This story follows a small group of escaped prisoners, three dogs and a unicorn, from the point of view of an old hound named Waggie.
