Fruits are all from the same family, are they not?
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterThe next morning, Grape Blossom woke up extremely early, so she wouldn't have to see the others. She grazed among the grass and watched the tip of the sun peek over the far-off mountains. She sighed, hoping that their family and friends were watching the same one, too. She trotted over to the hose and turned it on and waited until the temperature was cool enough before drinking from the stream. She wandered to the vegetable garden and watered the growing plants and newly planted seeds before she grew bored and soon turned off the hose.
She sat in the lawn until the sun awoke the rooster and out came that ruckus of a noise. "COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOO!" She heard groans came from inside the house and smiled to herself, but her grin faded when Applejack came out - her brother, sister and grandparent were still inside eating a healthy breakfast, Grape Bloom knew that much. The orange mare, with the yellow mane, wore a cowboy hat. Some would say cowgirl hat, but she got it from her late father, so the title stayed.
Applejack noticed the filly sitting alone and walked over with an easy-going smile. "Good mornin', sugarcube!" Her rough, southern belle of an accent made Grape Blossom's ears irritated. "How'd y'sleep?"
Grape Bloom didn't say a word, she ignored the apple pony, hoping she'd get distracted by something else. It didn't work.
"Isn't the sunrise s'beautiful?" Applejack tilted her head. "It's as comfortin' as m'lil sister's smile."
